World Martial Arts Center: what do users think?

Stephen Tannen: Our family cannot recommend WMAC enough. The Sa Bo Nyms are firm, fair AND fun. The gender diversity is the highest of any dojang Ive visited in 30 years. Students can learn TKD, Hapkido or Kung Fu. It’s been a wonderful for our kiddos self esteem. Me? OEF USASOC Veteran and former Ranger.

Robert Ribciuc: Great program to instill self confidence, values and a growth mindset. Good mix of male and female students sends a good message that self defense and fitness are everyone’s business and further builds up confidence. Parking occasionally requires resourcefulness but there are additional paid lots and street parking nearby.

Jason Bain: I recently attended a trial for World Martial Arts Song Moo Kwan Hapkido Program. I have been a Hapkido student for several years and was very impressed with this program. First off I must say this is the most beautiful well thought out Martial Arts facility that I have ever been to.The school has a rich history and the Instructor Master Pat Carey is excellent and knowledgeable in both Hapkido and Taekwondo. The entire organization is very courteous and welcoming both students and Instructors. It can be difficult to find a Dojang teaching true and pure Hapkido that is not hybridized with Taekwondo but the school does a great job of keeping the two arts separate. I highly recommend anyone interested in an Excellent traditional Martial Arts program give World Martial Arts a try.

Thomas McDermott: I arrived at the The World Martial Arts Center with high expectations and yet somehow it has managed to exceed all of them. Here you will get World-Class instruction from individuals with decades of experience in martial arts. It is without a doubt the premier martial arts facility in the state of Minnesota. The World Martial Arts Center also has incredible history. Its Grandmaster Hee Sang Ro is an 9th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo and is the son of the founder of Taekwondo, Byung Jick Ro.Whatever reason you have for being interested in martial arts, whether it be self-defense, physical fitness, confidence, discipline, self-control, spirituality, etc, I encourage you to go stop by and watch a class. You will not regret it.WMC is the best deal in town price-wise. There are no contracts or long term commitments and there is free parking on the streets behind the Dojang.Thank you to Master Steve, Master Carey and everyone at the World Martial Arts Center for helping me change my life.

Flow_Amv (Luis Angel): Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI started about 3 months ago and it has helped me a lot. I do Taekwondo and after almost 2 months of training my legs got bigger. I was surprised that almost all my jeans didn’t fit me 😂. The school is great, classes really do work you and instructors are understanding.

Chris Salscheider: This is the best martial arts school ever anyone who says otherwise is not human

Kingabdi Jansb: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,Value

Coffee Cup: I stopped in because I'm new to the neighborhood. I was really impressed with the training as I watched as a guest. The owner greeted me and told me just how cheap the monthly rate was. I'm definitely planning on starting within the next month. I recommend others at least stop in.

Alex Cera: One of the best in the state.

GloriousSun250: I like this school for everything they give me from self-defense to form, but not the sparring, which is really important to me. There's no-contact point sparring and the free sparring is limiting. Otherwise this school's great!

Paul Schrater: Excellent instructors that actualize your potential. Great people, inclusive supportive and dedicated.

Rick Martinek: I took class there 1976 to 1983 and have enjoyed many of the finest instructors over those years. I'm glad to be returning next week after my Chaska branch closed down. Grandmaster Hee Sang Ro is the best in the business. Coming from Korea in 1976, Grandmaster Hee Ro took over the operation of the school and changed the name from Karate Center to World Martial Arts Center. In 2005, Mr. Patrick Carey and Steve Wankewycz joined Grandmaster Ro in the operation of the World Martial Arts Center. If you are looking for one of the best - visit this school.

Christina Super: individual attention, fantastic instructors. I have an existing back and hip issue, and they modified exercises for me! They even called when I missed 2 classes due to my hip bothering me, sounding concerned for me. I truly hope to go back and continue my training!

Aleks Till: I have been attending World Martial Arts Center since 1999. The school has the utmost concern for the well-being of students, and has a holistic and energetic approach to teaching martial arts. Its motto is: With enthusiasm and perseverance, nothing is impossible.Grandmaster Ro, who founded the school, still teaches there. It is extremely rare and is a privilege to have such an experienced martial arts instructor. This is someone who did not decide to teach taekwondo, but rather was raised to become this. His father founded one of the original taekwondo schools in Korea, and he has been training since he was a little boy. He understands anatomy, physiology, and the fosters the human potential for respect, confidence, discipline and focus. All of the other instructors at the school share an equal passion for learning and teaching. They each bring their own unique areas of expertise to the classroom, and make classes engaging and challenging. I always feel like I have more to learn, and reasons to feel good about my accomplishments so far.I never hesitate to recommend this school. If you are interested in learning martial arts from an authentic school, with instructors who are humble, knowledgeable and constantly bringing insight and new learnings to the class, then you will want to try World Martial Arts Center.

National Karate Academy of Martial Arts: what do users think?

S Y: The studio owner, Emily, is an inspiring leader and in touch with her customers and students. She is building a strong generation of leaders, and my kids love learning there.

Jessica Noble: The instructors are fantastic here. They are so great with my highly energetic 4 year old. They just exhibit the perfect balance of playfulness and firmness with the kids. They have so much patience with him and do so well to help him channel his energy. My child has learned so much and he is so excited to come every week. I also appreciate the class availability- so many options!

Cole Saugey: Great training facility to learn realistic self defense. Welcoming environment and kind people! Jeff is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great school!

Clayton Sheets Kingdom Fit Krav: I have had the privilege to receive training from Mr. Snider. He is excellent, gives very detailed instruction. I highly recommend his school.

Zachary Harris: Outstanding instructor!! 100% recommend

Thomas Gordon: A great family friendly place to learn martial arts!

Marty Cale: This is a great martial arts school. The instructors are very skilled, knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend this place. 🙂

James Jenson: I do karate here love it

Anthony Thoen: Great opportunity for young kids to learn discipline and balance in their lives.

Sean Bannerman: I have been going here for over 10 years, this is a great studio and Jeff Sidner is an exceptional instructor

Jessica Strobel: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueLove Jeff and his team and National Karate! Love the scheduling and approach they take. My kid loves going everyday!

Emily Taege: Great place for your child to learn Karate. Love the owner and the staff at this establishment. They are great with kids, very encouraging, but also good at teaching other skills -- not just Karate. Discipline, respect, and determination. Very solid program with the tangible "rewards" -- getting those stripes on your belt are very impactful for encouraging my son to keep going. Due to COVID-19, they also converted all of their lessons to Zoom if you need it which is FANTASTIC, because now we can still attend if we are traveling or not feeling 100%. Love it! You should enroll your kids here.

Melissa Hoo: Amazing school! Great instructors, very knowledgeable. It is a great experience for adults that want to learn to defend themselves. I will be coming here for a long time for both karate and krav maga.

Chang's Yong-In Martial Arts (Taekwondo School): what do users think?

marcho man: Awesome awesome awesome! It’s a very good place if you want training for taykando!Very very behaved and polite teachers!A very disciplined and friendly environment inside.

Ali Swanson: I was hesitant at first, as it is a rather large weekly commitment of time and finances. However, watching my kindergartener thrive over the past four months has made it completely worth it! I highly recommend Chang’s to all, especially to parents struggling with kids that may be a little more neurodiverse / ADHD. The change in demeanor as far as gratitude, self confidence, discipline, and overall growth has been truly remarkable. The instructors are phenomenal and really make the classes feel like a community.

kunga jamyang: One of the best Martial art in the State👍🏽👍🏽

Thecla Kastner: My daughter started lessons here before COVID and loved it. We took a break and started her back up in December 2021 at age 6. Even after all that time the instructors recognized her. This dojang is more than a place to learn a martial art. It is a place to develop your whole self and an opportunity to be a part of a special community. If you're a parent, it's a place to have a partner in parenting.I cannot sing enough praises for the instructors. If you watch them, you can see their passion for what they do. If you've ever thought of giving Tae Kwon Do a try, this is a wonderful place to check out.

Bhaskar K: The dedication of the instructor at this Tae Kwon do dojo is hard to find these days. We really like it.

꧁ strawberii ꧂: it’s great! Just quit because of Covid :

Joe Campbell: My 13 year has been coming for a few months. He loves it. The instructors are very good and knowledgeable. Glad we found this place!

Ross Kretschmar: Chang’s is great. They instructors are great with children. My 4 year old really enjoys the classes

Rachel Boeke: The absolute best!! My 8-year-old has taken classes at Chang's for over a year and completely loves it! The strength that she has at 8 is incredible. But Chang's also provides focus and discipline teachings through their classes. My daughter loves everything about taking taekwondo lessons...she would go every day if she could. Can't recommend them enough!

Christopher Hamlett: Great place to learn, all of the instructors are awesome!

Stacy S: My 2 kids have been doing Tae Kwon Do at Chang's for about 6 months and we all absolutely love it. The instructors all give very individualized attention to each student to work on his or her specific needs. My kids really enjoy the activity and the sense of accomplishment as they learn new skills and achieve new belts. I highly recommend!

Shanna Swanson: We toured several martial arts schools before landing here. They are by far the best- high quality instruction at an affordable price. We also love that they are a traditional martial arts school so it is much more than just learning techniques. Instructors are also great with kids too!

Rebecca Ramirez (Chao Bella): My daughter just signed up for classes here at Master Chang’s...We are both thrilled about our experience here! Parking is easy, the staff were super friendly, helpful and instruction was superb! The environment that they created here made us feel instantly at home and I really enjoyed chatting with the other parents!Thank you so much!Reb and Lu

Marcus Niles: Amazing location and excellent instructors. All instructors are kids friendly and very attentive to their learning needs. My son is gaining confidence, encourage to do his best always and having fun with friends in a positive environment. If you are looking for physical and mental challenges, try a class with our great instructors. It's a really good location and I have met a really good group of friends here.

Umesh Bhadouria: Great class and masters teaches greatly!

Amy C: Highly structured and disciplined teaching style in a supportive environment.

The Academy MN: what do users think?

Andrew Thomas: I've been going to The Academy for almost 10 years now! I would still be there but I have opened a Muay Thai/kickboxing gym in another country. This is by far the best Martial arts gym I've been too! I'm a bit biased because they have such a strong community that I was a part of. Even today being a world away, the coaches still keep in contact with me.It doesn't matter if you are going for fitness, Martial arts and/or to be a fighter. You will learn proper technique from world class coaches! They are very supportive in whatever path you choose. The biggest reason I felt it was necessary to open my own martial arts gym, was to bring this community to other people. It's not easy to recreate what the academy has. They are definitely very special. Thanks for the years of training and teachings I could not have done this without all I learned at The Academy. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Dakotah Love: This place has changed my life, the coaches my training partners, everything good vibes, real skills, awesome fights, God only knows where I'd be without this place. Genuinely saved my life.

Karina Higareda: Dedicated, Honorable & Humble, these are my favorite words to describe this training facility. My now 16 yr old has been training at this top notch, top quality coaching studio for over a year and hands down they’ve never let us down & have impressed my son and I with their skilled training & dedicated coaching. I highly recommend & encourage people looking to level up their game to train here, you will not be disappointed. Keep up the excellent work!

Pámela Boveda Aguirre: I had the chance to train a nogi class here today, and I loved the place, the environment, the facility is super clean and confortable! you have a lot of different options in their schedule! and they have worked with many pro athletes! I had a great experience and recommend the place for sure! Also the level of the girls that train there is very good, bjj competitors with a lot of experience.

Keith Burnham: Very good training for adults and children. Coaching is talented and robust. My 16 year old son's life has been transformed in just 4 weeks at this school. He is just a beginner, but his habits and life trajectory have been impacted in an unbelievable way. More than the trophies and belts on the wall..... this experience will last a lifetime.

Sam Guinan-Nyhart: Excellent training center. Friendly, welcoming and skilled! I dropped in over the holidays and spent a great couple hours here.

Chase Taylor: Great place. Employees are very welcoming and encouraging to get people involved. Definitely a community you would like to be a part of

Andrew Vuong: Great environment and classes!

Darrick Mattox: My daughter loves it and so do we

Cella Westray: Dropped in visiting in town and looking for a place to practice. The coaches seem top-notch and extremely knowledgeable. It’s a great community they have here--not only welcoming but also somewhere to push each other to get better, which I always appreciate! Thanks again for welcoming me, I will definitely be coming back if I ever move back to the Twin Cities area!

Tanner Martinson: Top of the line facility. Not only that but top of the line coaches and training partners as well. Great environment.

Frederick Frederickson: Large multi-disciplinary training center with an equipped gym as well.

Christopher Foecke: Good variety of styles and skill levels

Isaiah Nolan: I been to gyms all over the United States for the past 10 years and the Academy is the best of the best. Super knowledgeable instructors, clean environment, and a great community of kind and accepting students.

Russell Martinez: he coaches are very knowledgeable and staff is helpful! I like how it’s a month to month membership and not long contract!

Pedro Mosquera: The best experience you have to know among all, without a doubt, knowing and belonging to this wonderful and excellent martial arts academy.A fully equipped space to develop your potential and acquire skills. The highly qualified staff with an excellent human touch make the experience even more enjoyable. With the best motto, that if you assume it as part of your life, you will be the best version of yourself every day.OPERA NON VERBA.

Steve Henry: The Academy is an extremely impressive training facility. As a 37 year old construction worker I deal will general soreness on a regular basis. After working out here for less than two months I have lost 20 pounds, eliminated what I thought was chronic hip pain, and discovered the will power to break a decade long smoking habit. The heath benefits of training martial arts are undeniable and The Academy allows you to learn from extremely legit martial artists NO MATTER YOUR SKILL OR FITNESS LEVEL. I can’t thank head coach Greg Nelson and his team enough, 10/10 would recommend.

Master Moon's Tae Kwon Do: what do users think?

JoJo Ju: twice a year for students to show what they’ve learned and be celebrated.2. Provides role models

Krishna Agarwal: Fantastic experience for my child! The instructors are incredibly patient and skilled, fostering discipline and confidence in a fun, safe environment.

Sonal Khare: My daughters have been attending taekwondo classes for quite sometime and they absolutely love to come to the class. I have seen that their personality has become bolder and they have become more hardworking.

Annie Sperling: My daughter has been a student of Master Moon's for nearly a year, and I can't begin to tell you just how much of a positive experience this has been for her. Not only are her Masters and instructors amazing, but the life lessons and character-building that she has acquired in such a short period of time has truly exceeded my expectations. Master Moon's Taekwondo is the definition of "world class" and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning this art form.

Tony: Instructors and Masters are great teachers for kids and us adults with bad habits. After several years we are still here and being pushed as much as ever.

Andrew Baker: Great place for kids to get exercise, and to learn discipline and respect. Master Moon, Master V and all the instructors are very professional and do a great job. Highly recommend.

Anonymous: I waited for sometime to write this review so I have time to fully evaluate this school. My kids have been attending Master Moon’s TKD for a number of months now and we are extremely pleased with everything.I have since visited several other closer martial art schools for myself and none compare to Master Moon’s in frankly any aspect that I care about. The mat of one the schools was so stinky I could not bend down to do my stretches, the other one the present Master walked over the mat on his shoes, etc etc. You see none of that here. The professionalism, friendliness and expertise of the staff at all levels provide an outstanding experience for the partitioners and has been the best I have seen. It is amazing that you see the same gentle discipline, patience and professionalism in even their junior instructors who are sometimes so young. My kids have learned so much during their Time at Master Moon. Particularly that they need to still work hard when they are discouraged or disappointed but with hard work they go beyond the limits of what they thought they were able to do. The best part is that, they truly love and enjoy their class time and look forward to every session.I cannot say enough good things about Master Moon himself. He still regularly teaches some of the classes and you can see from his interactions that he deeply cares about advancing his students and has a superb way of giving them actionable feedback in a fun context.I saw some reviews that talked about the cost. Compared to the four other schools I checked this school has the same or less tuition minus their drawbacks plus unlike some of the other ones they do not restrict you to one or two session per week. I am happy I could provide my kids with the gift of learning TKD in this school.

Phil Smith: There with our student grandchildren. What a great experience for them: language, culture, physical activity... and more. The lead instructor has great understanding of kids, a wonderful rapport. Well all of the instructors do too.

Alex Marschner: We have been going as a family to Master Moon's for several months and it has been a confidence and focus builder for the kids and a great workout for the adults. The little tigers class is great for the under-6 set with more energy than focus. The kids belt classes incorporate more control and work to build athleticism and martial arts skills. All of the instructors take care to match students of similar height and ability as there is a large age range across each belt. Adult classes are typically later in the evening or at lunch time and it is a great workout break if you can make it. The dojang is very conveniently located and class attendance is flexible so you can attend the classes that work for you.I see that some of the lower reviews focus on the cost, and it is true that this is not a cheap hobby/sport/activity. I see the value in having a class structure that encourages participation and provides not just an all-around workout but a path to progression that keeps me engaged and actually using the money I'm spending on membership.Sparring is not mandatory, but if that interests you there are classes specifically for sparring at different times during the week. One last thing - I really appreciate the serious approach to health and safety that the dojang has taken during the pandemic. We are all ready to get back out and start living life again, and the masking and distancing that the dojang has enforced have helped us do so earlier than would have been otherwise advisable.Update - coming up on one year and we're really seeing the kids growth in focus and physical skill.Update at a year and a half! You really get as much out of it as you put in. Resetting priorities after the holidays and jumping back in is hard, but the physical benefits are worth it.

stas J: Amazing school! Have 2 kids enrolled there . Can’t be more happy !!!! Thank you for outstanding experience!

Rahul Verma: Teachers are awesome . Kids are learning very well .

Adam Hannah: I’ve been attending classes at Master Moon TKD for about a year or so and can’t say enough good things about them. The instructors are highly experienced, knowledgeable and friendly and develop students across all skill levels - whether you’re a beginner or advanced. If you’re tired of the usual gym routine, I’d highly recommend you check them out if you’re looking to get in shape, learn a lot, and have some fun along the way.

Matt Roland: Fantastic group of instructors that foster an amazing sense of community and respect. My 8 year old is learning a great martial art and so many life skills along his journey. Highly recommended!

Lee Valle: . It is a professional dojang, with the Masters and instructors all very friendly, and make the workout both effective and very fun. I go three times a week and it helps me to be in better physical shape, learn self defense and is one of the best activities with our grandkids we could have. Classes not only surround belt color but also building families, with several family time options each week. Should you join, you will not be disappointed and I give them my highest recommendation. I love it!

J. Friendly: My wife comments how she adores how they interact with the kids, making them laugh, bringing fun and they always emphasize getting the energy up. They not only teach them martial arts, but leadership qualities like responsibility, integrity and communication along with helping them build their physical strength through engaging athletic drills. There have been a few reviews that talked about cost. I'm not going to debate what one person finds too expensive, but consider that Master Moon is a highly experienced 7th dan blackbelt and a solid teacher from what I've seen to date. You get what you pay for, but it does cost money. You pay for monthly enrollment, a fee for each belt test

Kate Smith: Great dedication.Love watching our Grandkids and the attention they are given. The students are all also attentive.

Z-Ultimate Self Defense Studios: what do users think?

Teresa Johnson: Sensei Ben is a great teacher! My kids and I enjoy learning from him.

C. Howard: Excellent self defense school! Our 7yo daughter can’t wait for her next class. She has been enrolled for 8 months. The instructors are really good and teach the kids to be respectful, focused and work hard. I highly recommend this studio for families who want to have their kids in a routine, learn respect and gain confidence in a fun way.

Michele Lloyd: I’ve been with Z-Ultimate around 4 years now. I’d been interested in martial arts since I was a kid, but I thought classes would be full of tough guys, and the teachers would be like drill sergeants, and it would be oh-so-serious. That image put me off. Then I found Z-Ultimate in Edina. The adult classes have students from a wide range of ages and abilities, and Ben Thomas is a gentle, encouraging teacher. We laugh a lot in class while learning effective techniques for defending ourselves. If you have been interested in the martial arts but have felt worried or intimidated by what you thought it was about, try Z-Ultimate. Martial arts will build your strength and confidence. And parents: Ben is amazing with the children.

Brian Jensen: sensei ben is great with our child who has learning differences. we've seen our son learn to pay much better attention at karate!

April Pream: son. I have never seen anyone so good at connecting with these kids. He has a gift. I tell everyone about Z-Ultimate. Best!

Cassidy Steiner: My kids love their lessons. Sensei Ben is so much fun, and such an effective teacher.

Joseph McKenna: I signed up for martial arts and self defense. I am extremely pleased. Great for fitness too. Master Ben is fast paced and an inspiration. 3 group classes a week that are fun and highly engaging. Plus indiviual lessons to keep improving your skill and fitness. Everyone should do this!

Josh John: Came to an introduction course with my fiancé’s coworkers. Fun to get exposure to different body relationships that I wouldn’t have considered a potential asset. Ben was great and I quickly found that the more I asked, the more value I got out of the team.ASK QUESTIONS and watch all the value start pouring out! Will definitely come again and take a more long term membership.

M-Theory Martial Arts: what do users think?

Drew Richards: Absolutely incredible school. My 3YO daughter takes naps on her own just so she can go train after she wakes up! Absolutely amazing classes for the kids and the best instruction and training in the city for adults.

steve weismann: Ishmael is brilliant and his BJJ instructors are great. I took my son to M-Theory when the school first opened and have been there ever since. The people are friendly and welcoming, and there are all levels of skill. I always look forward to going there.

Alexander McGruder: Amazing teachers. Inclusive environment. Safe and thoughtful instruction.

Liz Bullon: Super cool and tremendous academy. Super special people and place. My son wanted to buy a rashguard that was already sold out. Someone found out that he was looking for one and gave it to him, what a nice detail! The super professional coaches are always waiting for the Students to do the drills, paying attention to the details. If you are in the Minneapolis, Minnesota area and practice jiujitsu with a gi or no gi, take a look around M-theory is the place you should visit. Call them before you go. They offer the first or second class free of charge.

Dawn McCool: Great place for all ages. My son is having a blast learning valuable skills.

Lloyd McKinney: after one of their Black Belts did a seminar at our "home" gym. Everyone was amazing and made me feel welcome. The classes we well ran and inclusive. And the sparring was challenging but highly respectful! I hope to make it up more frequently as I love the energy and environment this place has to offer! Definitely a world class facility and Staff. I would highly recommend checking them out if you are passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and want to train at an elite level, no matter what level you are currently at. Like I said before, this place is spectacular!

Steven Lovett: Great instructors, and great people to train with! Overall just a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere 😊

Vince H: Lots of good upper belts here even for the morning classes, and a very positive atmosphere. The gym was clean with lots of mat space. I will be sure to come again next time I'm in MSP

Chris Martin: I came into town with the Jiujitsuinsurance.com team and had a blast training with them at 11am for GI rolling. The vibes and energy of this bjj gym is high and the belt colors were diverse! If you love jiu Jitsu then you will want to try this place

josh baker: Great people, very knowledgeable.

Nick Olson: Clean facility and good group of training partners

Bob Dompierre: Dropped in on a Saturday morning while in town visiting family. Very welcoming staff and students; made me feel very comfortable. Picked up some good straight ankle techniques during class. Stayed for some rolling after, everyone was respectful during rolls. Hard rolls but not in a mean way. Have to compliment their takedowns, there’s a few I’ll be spamming at my home gym. Thank you to Ryan, Ish, and all of the students at the academy for a great experience. Hope I can drop in next time I’m in town.

Abigail Baker: Beautiful place and great people!! Perfect place for all levels.

Andy Cohen: My son did a trial and had a blast. He wants to go every day!

Kitsune Karate: what do users think?

Jacqueline Leach: My son was hooked from his first class, the instructors are great at keeping things moving while being both motivating and encouraging. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Scott Gregg: Kitsune Karate has been my home dojo for five years. The instructors are extremely knowledge and motivating. The kids program is fun and produces very good athletes. The adult program focuses on the "art" of traditional karate, with an emphasis on real world self-defence applications. Kitsune is a Shotokan karate school that strives to maintain tradition, but also explore innovation. As such, we regularly welcome students of other schools and styles.

Stuart Hazard: without foregoing the discipline and formality that many seek from the martial arts and that promote safety and learning. My favorite characteristic, however, is that at Kitsune we are encouraged to learn from anyone who has something of value to teach.

Mjoe T: because of the high quality instruction they receive at Kitsune. I know this will be a life long endeavor for my son. If keeping your mind focused and your body in shape; and if you have a desire to learn many, very good self defense tactics and Katas

Cynthia Haakana: ! Shotokan karate is taught by Amy and Scott and they are fantastic instructors. As a 4th degree black belt, I have had many teachers and they are superb—-professional, supportive, and encouraging! They accommodate and adapt to the needs of their students making it an exceptional place to improve in the art of karate and get a wonderful work out. The environment is caring and positive. I cannot say enough positive statements about Kitsune Karate!

Jen Cash: I can’t say enough about Kitsune Karate. The dojo is run as a non-profit organization so it can offer classes at affordable rates, not like the for-profit dojos that make you commit to expensive long-term contracts. They have great programming for kids as well as adults. The approach is low key, non-violent, and emphasizes the skill and art of traditional Shotokan Karate. They focus on building physical and mental strength, self-confidence, and respect for self and others rather than placing emphasis on getting the next level belt. At Kitsune, students are taught the fundamentals of Karate with the correct form and precision which helps them learn, grow, perform, and compete without injury. Being at Kitsune, learning from Scott and Amy, and making good friends has been hands down one of the best experiences for my child!

Josh Hill: Excellent place for kids and adults!

David Cross: All the other 5-star reviews are true. This place is the antithesis of "strip mall Karate" joints. It's authentic without being pretentious. There is no nickel-and-dime behavior. Their children's programs are excellent, focused on fun & form over advancement & cutthroat competition.

Ashley Ross: Kitsune is a fantastic place to learn traditional shotokan karate. Scott and Amy are extremely knowledgeable about their art and they help their students bring out their best.

Sari Sanchez: There are so many wonderful things to say about this dojo! The instructors Scott, Amy, Marti, Ashley and Sara are top notch. They are amazing with children and teach in such a fun manner and have incredible skills. They offer the kids so many wonderful opportunities like doing competitions, demonstrations at public events and most importantly, discipline. Price is affordable, times of class works great with after school and weekends.

Andrea Carbon: A world class traditional school of karate do taught by instructors with a strong Japanese trained background of very high national and international reputation. If you want the best of karate in the Twin Cities, this is it!

Emily Sowell: We love kitsune. The staff is dedicated, welcoming and kind. The students work cooperatively to get stronger and better. Affordable and flexiable scheduling.

Kara Johnson: Positive:Professionalism,Quality

Mick White: Macallister turned 5 in January & shortly after he began his pursuit of a black belt with Lee’s Champion Tae Kwon Do. From starting as a no-belt to finishing the year as an orange belt, he’s loved every moment of it. Grand Master Lee is an amazing tae kwon do instructor. His technical knowledge is incredible. He makes the classes so much fun. And, Macallister gains confidence in tae kwon do & in life. It’s been a wild year for everybody in 2020. From in-person classes to online Zoom sessions, Macallister’s loved every single second of his time with Grand Master Lee & Lee’s Champion Tae Kwon Do. We can’t thank Grand Master Lee & his team enough. They are all so good at teaching tae kwon do, character building, & healthy living. It’s just a matter of time before Macallister is a black belt. And, there’s nobody we would rather have train him than Grand Master Lee. If you’re looking for a new adventure for your kids in 2021, check out Lee’s Champion Tae Kwon Do. You won’t regret it.

David Walker: Positive:ProfessionalismOne of the best instructors you can choose for a sport that will last you a lifetime. Highly recommended!

Vanessa Voges: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueGrand Master Lee is a fantastic instructor and everyone there, especially his beautiful wife are so caring and great with the kids.

Jeman Park: Got my black belt here, and I look back on my experiences there fondly. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a Tae Kwon Do school!

annette haugen: My daughter had Master Lee do a demonstration at her elementary school and came home all excited to want to go try a class . We went and did the trial class and she was hooked . She had tried things before and never wound up sticking with it . The classes were not only fun but character building . We saw many changes , not just that she was learning TKD but many other things . Respect , hard work , determination, self confidence .. she learned so much and applies that in her school work and her job now . The day she finally achieved her goal , to become a first degree black belt. I was so proud of her and all the hard work to get there . I highly recommend Lee’s Championship TKD.
