4worldlovers: ART RESOURCES GALLERY showcases the largest and most unique collection of original artwork available in Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN. We have brought together a unique and varied group of artists that we are proud to represent. Some of the artwork that you may select from includes blown glass, oil and acrylic paintings, textiles, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics, mosaics, and much more. All of our artwork is original, and we are proud to offer over forty years of custom framing experience. With two conveniently located spaces, we are able to pull from a wide variety of inventory to help find just the right piece of artwork for your home.

Bonnie Hinz is a Minnesota artist with an Interior Design background. In 2004, she built her glass studio in her home and has been pursuing her passion full-time ever since. We recently caught up with Bonnie to learn more about her process.


My creative path is different than most, as I found art later in life. As a child, I was very creative--always wanting to figure out how to make different things using clay, wood, fiber, and whatever else I could find. As I grew into adulthood, that creativity became lost as I decided I needed a “real” job and tried out several careers, one being interior design. While I did enjoy that, I yearned for something more, but couldn’t quite figure out what that was. I then found a class at a local college for glass blowing and took it on a whim. I became hooked and took all the classes that I could, while I was still working in interior design. After much soul-searching, I decided to transition from design to glass and built my own glass-blowing studio.


I am driven to create things. The interior design work that I was doing was not creative enough for me. I need to actually make things with my own hands. If I don’t create anything for a while, I get crabby! Even if I am not making glass and metal artwork, I am sewing, crocheting, or playing around with other materials

The best thing is after we have installed an artwork at a hospital or clinic, and I hear that people love the artwork and have a connection to it. I want people to feel an uplifting moment of joy when they are viewing it.

People always assume that the metalwork is done by my husband or another male metalworker. I create all the metalwork myself. I enjoy bending metal and welding and all the processes of working with metal. I rarely create something that is just glass, or just metal. I love the combination of the two materials—how the metal is supporting and “protecting” the glass, and how harmoniously the two materials can be integrated together.

4worldlovers: Paul Whitney Larson, a graduate of the university, began his professional career at the University of Minnesota on September 1, 1947 as manager of the Village Union. In 1952 he became Manager of the Farm Union, and upon construction of the Student Center in 1959, accepted duties as its Director and continued in this position until 1979.


Paul Whitney Larson’s life was dedicated to the improvement of the educational and environmental life of the University. His innate interest in music and the arts, and a desire to foster the appreciation of the arts among members of the University community was the reason that, in 1980, the Larson Art Gallery was named in his honor.

The 520-square-foot Paul Whitney Larson Art Gallery is located on the Lower Level of the St. Paul Student Center. Exhibitions are curated, designed, installed and promoted by the Visual Arts Committee of the Program Board within Student Unions & Activities.
