Art Materials LLC: what do users think?

Molly: was a rockstar. They also have such a great selection of supplies from beginner paints to the higher end stuff. Thank you so much again!

Bradley George: the store has a better energy now that the store is under new ownership

Tony Gawarecki: They framed my picture, and did an amazing job. Museum worthy. You won't find frames like this at a thrift store 😁 I'd highly recommend them to anybody trying to professionally frame prints, or paintings.

James Henderson: Very well stocked artist quality goodsFriendly staff. Lots of good things for kids who want to do drawings, etc.

kinderhood: Super cool. They changed it around from how I remembered it. I needed Acrylic Painting Supplies, and I kind of went crazy cause I didn't know what I needed, and I just kept adding things to my bunch. I went for brushes, they had so many I was overwhelmed. It took a bit and the people were patient with me taking my time. They have some nicely defined sections and areas and I was super happy when I got home cause I got exactly what I needed. The 2 people running the shop were very nice to me.

Lina Campbell: Best supply of golden and liqitex paints I've ever seen. So much good stuff here.

Mariska Coleman: but we didn't feel ushered out or anything!

Itoro Uwatt: Great shop with a wide variety of arts supplies. The staff I met at the front desk was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I will definitely visit, again.

Lounette Loubser: Well stocked art store. I mainly went for canvas and paint but they cover other mediums too. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. I got the impression they might order what you need if they dont have it, but i didnt request.

SL K: It got what we needed.

Jenny Solem: I'm in love with this store. It's very expansive inside, and has an incredible variety of supplies/mediums. They also carry items I've never seen in chain stores, including art specific ones. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and competetive with what you may see elsewhere.

peggy white: So dear to see the Groveland Gallery doing so well. Thank you all that invest in the time, effort and dedication to have this Gallery show and give those of us who live far enough away, that we can at least enjoy the pictures. I love some of the local artists. Thank you so much, Margaret

Jason Jaspersen: Beautiful house housing a well-run gallery representing representational beauty.

Martha Johnson: Loved this gem. As much as I am ashamed to admit...I was unaware of this gallery. I will definitely be back. Very interesting collections. Loved the Mike Lynch collection.

Kelvin Simms: , which is a great plus. They also have local artists spotlighted here.

Tom Hatch: Sally Johnson is fabulous as the manager/curator at this gallery. Knowledgeable, not snooty, loves art.

Ali Rox: Some outstanding artists represented. It's a cozy gallery. I like when the back yard Annex has an opening during the main gallery vernissage.

Glyde Hart King: . Love the nooks and crannies and the print room. Etc. Love this place. Will go here again and again. I also happen to know they are gracious to the artists they represent. Can't say enough about this place.

Beans: Historic building and a nice view of the Walker.

Magnetic Originals • House of Gauss: what do users think?

Top M. Hatter: The detailing to his art and the support he gives to local artists is awesome. His magnets are cool and he is happy to make original custom magnets for an individual. Bring in a photo, trinket or small keepsake and he will happily make your custom magnet for a reasonable fee.Ask to him about art classes, so you can learn too.COVID update-Miss this place. He's an amazing man and artist. Hope all is well and that we'll see more soon.Great love to you.

Michael Johnson: Phenomenal art work and artists. Prices may be higher than you anticipate on some of the more intricate pieces, but the time and passion in the work here is truly special.

Gary Williams: Jeff is great.

Tim Schram: I have purchased pieces from Jeff for many years. He exhibits at many of the fairs and venues I attend throughout the year all over the Twin Cities, but I also see him at his store in Calhoun Square. His work is whimsical, unique, nostalgic and easily recognizable. I can usually find something to get my Disney or Star Wars fix, or I can ask Jeff and he'll go looking around until he finds something for me. However, I've also purchased other fun treasures like the Banana Splits to Dairy Queen and Calhoun Square. That's the reason I have so many for my own, but have also given them as gifts. Each little piece of art is made with love. On the back of each magnet is the name, Jeff's signature and the number of the magnet made. Yes, he keeps track of all his work! On the front of each magnet since the tragedy of 9/11, Jeff has included a small symbol of a dove. It's such a nice and special touch to his work. And speaking of work, visit him in his store in Calhoun Square. You'll see some other works of his and his friends that is just amazing. To top it all off, Jeff's customer service is top-notch. He consistently provides great service to me, but I see he provides it to anyone visiting his booth or store. Here are just a few of the many, many magnets I've purchased from Jeff.

Jesse Spalding: Amazing store! And lots more than just magnets. Jeff the Magnet Guy is pretty well known for his classic Uptown themed magnets and also has one of the best collections of original art by local artists in the area. He's been in Calhoun Square for over 20 years. Anyways, super nice guy and great place to find fun gifts.

Gamut Gallery: what do users think?

Phil Warumzer: Great place to experience art and all of the interactions of supporting it!

Brian Wene: Great collection and incredible events occur regularly here. The art here is consistently of the highest quality and the different styles all come together to create a very welcoming community in the Elliot Park neighborhood. Make a plan to attend an opening night celebration in addition to the closing night party. Live music and other performances can be seen at this intimate gallery during those events. I highly suggest becoming a member as you get free entrance to events and other great perks. The membership price is affordable & a payment plan is an option. Artist talks typically occur during the regular exhibits & are emceed by solid members of the greater art community. I make sure to budget an annual membership to solidify my spot in the art community because the viewers are an important part of it.

matthew olsen: Thank you very much for Yuya's show.He is a Minneapolis gem!

Frank Neubecker: Amazing gallery with wonderful art from the community!

Desiree Forget: Best little gallery in town!

LUNCHBOX6690: I've been there a handful of times and every time is a blast. The people are fantastic, and the atmosphere is cozy.

Bwana: A very nice gallery space. It was a well curated show, and everyone there was extremely pleasant. I look forward to going back. The only issue I have was the acoustics were not ideal for a large gathering.

Thomas Robinson: Cool place

Grant “George Randel” Doyle: Awesome gallery w/ great atmosphere! My only minor complaint would be the bartender seemed like he was trying a little too hard to be cool and he could do little bit less chit-chat and little more pouring drinks. Overall 10/10!

Lucy Johnson: It was an awesome place too be there i never been there before and it was my first time there the store ower was super friendly because I had some stuff in the show and lots of people came too it 😀 😄 😊

Justin Savageau: Had a great time at a colab here. Neat space, cool people, awesome host. Will definitely check out future events.

Laura Cina: Went for the ColabArt night!

Mikayla Peterson: Best gallery in the cities! Always good vibes and energy in there!

Haley Spann: Beautiful gallery 10/10 would recommend

christina marie Johnson: Absolutely ADORE Gamut Gallery! Founded by two out-of-this-world bad a** women! Gamut hosts several events throughout the year that are free to their members or can gain entry by paying a small fee. The space in itself offers a lovely front area with a showcase displaying some items for purchase and a few shelves, and then has the main gallery space just beyond that. They have been open for almost 10 years! And I am excited for their next 10! Support local art and stop in! Check them out on facebook and Instagram as well for updates on events!

Calhoun Beach Framing: what do users think?

Christine Williams: Amazing shop! Knowledgeable staff with keen eye for detail. Super happy!

Drew Neubauer: Best framing shop in Minneapolis. Absolutely love the work and creativity they put into their frames.

Jill E: Best custom framing in town!

Steven Poling: I had several pieces I needed framed. The folks at Calhoun Beach Framing went above and beyond to make sure they all looked great. While it was a tad expensive, I think it was money well spent considering the finished product. Will definitely be going back in the future.

Tom Sincheff: Great place, just started working there.

Lucy Woychuk-Mlinac: Amazing job! I brought in flimsy and slightly tattered art that they made look beautiful and stately! So friendly an helpful, they clearly know what they're doing and are happy to help you along the way! Leaving the store, I felt like I was already friends with the people working there.

Amelia Labuszewski: Great frame shop. Really talented staff and beautiful selection of materials.

Kara Burnett: I had a newspaper clipping of John Lewis’s final op-ed framed and it looks better than I had imagined. The process of selecting the mat and frame was such a pleasure. I had a wonderful experience and will be back for any future framing needs.

Ake Hallman: Great service! Highly recommended, I will be back!

Monica Kilber: and the attention to detail. I have appreciated their guidance on various projects, and have never been disappointed in the end result. Their personal and professional service doesn't compare!

Martha Beck: Best frame shop in Minneapolis. Great service and wide selection, including good variety of "ready-mades."

ASHLEY YANG: The artwork is beautiful and done with such delicacy. It's an understatement to say these guys know what they're doing. We had ran into a couple of small issues of getting my very large artwork stretched in the ten-day turn around time but the staff were able to fix that and finish my pieces! A more expensive place when compared to other framing locations but this is place is nothing less than exquisite. I will always go here!

Phyllis Roden: My new go-to framing place. Friendly, helpful staff. I've been very happy with the four framings they've done for me.

Lauren Lathrop: Friendly, helpful, and quick return time. A little on the pricey side but you pay for expertise and quality!

Mitrebox Framing Studio: what do users think?

Tanner Mathy: So many beautiful cards and gifts! I come here for pretty much every occasion.

Warren Cox: Sara and team always provide incredible guidance on framing projects for my art. The intentional and curious questions they ask help guide me in the decision. They are consistently mindful of my budget and even guide me sometimes to not re-frame pieces…I appreciate the relationship they form with me as a client. I will be shipping other pieces back to them in Minneapolis and they’ve earned a customer for life!

Greg Murphy: We've had a few pieces framed here, and they always wow us with their ideas and execution. Everyone is friendly and easy to work with. Thanks!!

Josh Katzenmeyer: Amazing selection of one-of-a-kind frames. Staff is super thoughtful and kind! You can tell they're invested in doing a good job so you walk away satisfied.

Christine Whitt: These humans are amazing.I used to be of the mind that the frame didn’t matter as much as the content, but they have proven to me that that is simply not the case. Many of the pieces in these photos were reframed and the results were entirely transformational. They are more inviting, better-looking, and protected from sun damage. It’s not cheap, but it shouldn’t be as there are true artists at this shop. As a bonus, they are dog-friendly, and working with them is an inspirational pleasure. Thanks, Mitrebox, keep doing what you do.

m: Quality , care , design and completion . Absolutely the highest quality and outcome for special pieces .

Matt Wickert: Mitrebox and the artists within understand and care for the transporting nature of a frame. Your piece is nice. It’s exciting. It may even be personal. But it is simply not complete until you walk through those doors. Some might call them framists, you could call them engineers, I want to call them artists. And I want to tip them cash every time I visit in the same way I want to tip a jazz pianist for playing Erroll Garner.I would say watching them work is the most enjoyable part of the process, but Mitrebox does you one better than spectatorship. They involve you. Your personal tastes and tendencies are activated, challenged, and appreciated. If you’re lucky, you may even get to stand on Sara’s stepstool for a better view.No matter what you plan to do with your piece or where you hope your piece takes you when it finally reaches your wall, you simply cannot get there without Mitrebox building the portal for you.

mary davis Racciatti: Extensive and well curated selection of frames and excellent framing advice.

Trudi Greaves: Fantastic little framing shop with super helpful and knowledgeable staff!

Karen Kaus: Great experience and competitive pricing! I had always gone to a National chain for custom framing because they were close to my house and I assumed the least expensive option. Decided to try a local business with a bigger selection thinking I’d pay more. This product is better, experience was better and cost is on par with the “heavily discounted” cost at the other place. I’m blown away and never going anywhere else again.

Sebastian Campbell: The term “consummate professional” could not be more accurate! These guys are great! And don’t forget to bring treats for Henry

Timothy McFadden: Possibbly the best shop in town.

Jim Miller: . I would recommend Mitrebox without question.

Douglas Flanders & Associates: what do users think?

Heidi Howell: The oldest and most respected gallery in Minneapolis-- It has an absolutely great selection and variety of art from realism to modernism to post- modernism, in a wide range of price points. He shows local artists as well as national and international artists -- painting, prints, photography, and sculpture. The gallery assistants are very knowledgeable and helpful -- and very nice! The owner, Doug, is a Minnesota treasure, having been deeply involved in the visual arts for the last 50 years. He believes in and loves art-- not just in it for the money--and he has a delightful, wonderful dog named Izzy, who will greet you with much dog love at the door.

M B: I had a great experience with Douglas Flanders & Associates. I’d purchased a piece of art overseas, and after it arrived in Minneapolis I had Doug Flanders appraise it. A couple of years later it was lost/stolen during a cross-country move. Because of Doug’s appraisal, my insurance company reimbursed me for the loss at full replacement cost.

Nicola Peterson: art interesting and fun. When I’ve been ready to purchase a piece, Doug has an exceptional eye

David Duvall: Flanders Gallery has a friendly and informative staff. You can view old masters, contemporary classics, and regional artists. This is time well spent for an outing in the city!

John Seymour-Anderson: and that I would consider living with, which I consider a significant distinction. It’s not because they’re well crafted decorative works. They are well crafted, but also have a depth

Maurice James DM: I loved the show of Stanley Boxer and Joyce Weinstein. My Mom Dorothy Berenson Blau handled both Boxer and Weinstein in her Bal Harbour, Florida gallery of 52 years, I missed seeing the canvases in her gallery and now got to view them at Flanders. The sensitive textures and depth and thick media lets your mind wander. I LOVED THE SHOW. Thank You, Jim Berenson Hopkins, Minnesota

John Schuerman: SOOVAC consistently brings thoughtful, stirring, and beautiful exhibitions into their uptown galleries. They have probably helped launch the careers of more local artists over the last 15 years than any other gallery in the cities.

Rubin Abdi: Tiny but the art has plenty of depth.

Brian: Love this place!

Lindsy Noren: Went to my first art gallery here to see my cousins work. Beautiful and unique place.

Julie Johnson: I took my daughter to this store. She has a disability, and the manager was amazing and accommodating. My daughter was a bit overwhelmed, but the manager spent time with her, told her about the various choices, and helped her found what she wanted and what would work for her. I regret that I did not catch the manager's name.

Joy Avery: It's so much fun to wander through this store especially if you want to spend an hour, not just pop in for what you need. I love markers and probably have way too many but am always looking for new ones. The only complaint I have is that most of the markers are under lock and key. I'm sure they would gladly unlock all the cases so I could take my hour closely looking at every single marker but I've never asked them to do that. So that's my only complaint. Otherwise top notch.

Brad Galvin: Everything I needed and more.

Sinead Odessa: Always a nice experience, organized and neat store, lovely staff. They helped me with a coupon and adding on supplies. Super easy trip every time!

Nanette Taylor: I can usually find all the supplies that I’m looking for all my projects. And for many years I’ve had my artwork scanned and color corrected. Wonderful support and quality prints. However, disappointing to find out they won’t be replacing their large printer that broke down to make prints from original artwork. Now, they send it out for printing instead of in-house. I will have to find another company to make prints of my artwork. Disappointing.

Aliosky Garcia: Excellent

lcecbranch: The most beautiful selection of beads at competitive prices. Ordered from Canada!

Nook Sitsiinineez: Awesome native-owned gift shop. Books, indigenous foods to take home and make, native arts supplies for beading, pelts, candles, scarves, cook books, sweet grass, items for smudging, fur, native floral pattern fabric to make ribbon dresses, jewelry, stickers, blankets, leather, clothing. Variety of items for every budget. Almost like going shopping at a pow wow, but with more options. If you need to make anything for your regalia, you could probably find it here. Such a variety of items carefully curated. I could’ve spent all day here. The employees were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The store got pretty busy as I was leaving. Also a nice cozy couch in the corner by the window that was much appreciated as I waited in the warmth of the store for my Lyft.

Theresa Ziegler: So many amazing treasures in this beautiful place! There truly is something for everyone here. Astonishing art, incredible jewelry, gorgeous plush toys, Pendleton items, puzzles, stones and crystals, Aromatherapy products, clothing, food you can't find elsewhere. Treat yourself to a visit!

Mary Jane McCormick: Just beautiful beads…great quality and customer servicewas so appreciated..Greg thank you again

Sherwoodgal: Visited this amazing store for the first time today. The layout is so visually appealing and there is a warmth you feel when you step in. The quality and selection of the products is unique. Let’s just say, you’re not going to find these items on Amazon. I found the staff to be so helpful and kind and appreciated them letting me look at my leisure but answering questions when asked. Unfortunately I was on a mission for a particular product they had but will certainly be returning when I have more time. There is something for everyone here.
