Kelly O'Kane: If you are a fan of mid-century design and distinctive design in general, this store is a must visit. The inventory is beautifully displayed, and the vintage items are in beautiful condition. I found Modilumi when I was looking for someone to help me turn two art glass vases into lamps. If you are a long time St. Paul resident like me, you know we have lost several of our local stores where we can get lighting repair and restoration done. The owner, Lex, is very knowledgeable, and provides genuine customer service. He did a beautiful job wiring my vases, including a pair of excellent quality dimmer switches. If you have shopped for lighting in the big box stores, you know how expensive it can be. For the same price or less, you can buy something at Modilumi that is far more distinctive. This is a great local business to support.

We purchased 2 lamps on our first visit and, went back the next day for a 3rd. Lex knows his business and offers the epitome of customer service. He shortened a cord for us, in a matter of 2 min. He exchanged a switch, no extra charge. He is willing to work with the customer to create the perfect lamp for the look they are striving for.We plan to make Modilumi our go-to lamp store. And recommend it for anyone looking for unique lighting.

I'm happy I stopped by, for no other reason than they had two vintage school house style lights, at a reasonable price, that fit well in our house.They were also reasonable for rewiring and adding mounting hardware for two vintage pendant lights we have, and will get a 3rd light when I get to it.Not to mention their reproduction light prices seemed reasonable.They are worth a stop if you're looking for new/different/custom lights or need any rewired.

ejgayosomd: Todd and his employees are the very best. Very large and unique selection of lights. We live in Washington DC and have a summer home in Rehoboth Beach, DE . We have a very large dining room table in our beach home and we needed a a statement piece to really accent our dining room. We sent pictures and dimensions to Todd and he immediately sent us back several potential chandeliers. We chose a beautiful piece that was exactly what we had been looking for. It was shipped and at our front door within 3-5 days. One of the small globes had cracked in transit. We notified Todd and a replacement was shipped the next day. We could not be more happy with the product and customer service. Would highly recommend without reservation. Thanks again Todd and Filament lighting !

Elizabeth Winn: , just enough that I couldn't screw them into the existing holes. I was beyond disappointed by my error and thought I would be unable to use the caliber pulls. I was also so confident in my measuring that I ordered all of them at once, not heeding the advice online to order one or two or a sample first. I reached out to their support email asking if there was anything I could do and they responded with specific directions as to how I could ever so slightly, and very carefully so as not to scratch or damage the pulls, adjust the distance for the screws. The directions were clear and I was able to adjust all of them and install them on my cabinets that same day. I knew this was my error and I was so worried I had completely botched everything. The customer service team was very nice and understanding and incredibly helpful. I love the product and I'm very impressed with the service I received from their team. Highly recommend working with this company.

I learned they do mostly commercial work with awesome industrial/steam-punk looking fixtures, they still do the simple, yet needed, work of fixing lamps. To resolve this I spent a day trying:O’Brien Auto Parts - NoHome Depot - NoCentral Lock - NoAce Hardware - NoTC Automotive - NoPeople were suggesting lighting specialist in St. Paul and out in the burbs but after some web searching I found Fixt Electric right here in NE Minneapolis. The shop is filled with cool retro light fixtures. There was no wait and they used some unorthodox but effective techniques to machine and make my fixture come together. I’m so relieved, all these big box stores and chains couldn’t do a thing and were put to shame by this awesome independent shop.
Michael Curren: Nate and his team did a fantastic job restoring 2 vintage lamps I brought in that needed a lot of love. They even fabricated some replacement parts and matched them to the original tone of the metal. A+ work and super friendly. I would highly recommend them!

BOB PEARSON: Nice to have a store that specializes in only fans. I was served good advice from the owner and set up install with sub contract. They put the fan in the wrong place as I wasn't home to guide, "totally my fault" They both were very congenial in the re-install with no extra charges, which they were entitled to. All is good with these guys and they get a well deserved 5 star review.

Patti Swinyard: "oooh you can't do this", "I wouldn't recommend that" or "this is how you should do it". Sierra was completely open minded but also honest with her opinions. Location is convenient, easy and cheap parking around the building. I was greeted with a warm welcome. The place has a nice, open, clean and chilled vibe about it. Not intimidating at all for first timers. I felt completely relaxed around Sierra and I trusted her. In the end she did an amazing job and I'm so happy with my first 3 tattoos down my arms. So happy that I've contacted her again to try schedule in for three more tattoos...then I'm done :

Vermin One: I worked with John, he's very talented! He's my go-to guy. Everyone in the shop was super friendly! Very clean, open and inviting environment. They even ordered food for me! It seems that they do a lot of walk-ins, so there may be a wait. But well worth it.

Anderson soth: I worked with and currently working with Sara Legel. Great artist. She was very nice and made sure I was comfortable the whole way through. I really like that she works with different types of styles and not just one specific type. I also like how comforting she was throughout the whole process, getting a tattoo can be very uncomfortable and unpleasant. She seemed genuinely interested and happy in making sure my tattoo fits me and coming up with a design. Overall great experience. Really makes the whole tattoo experience fun. The bathroom and shop was also clean, which is nice.
