Andrew Evans: They were recommended to me by residents on a local Facebook group. I'm happy I stopped by, for no other reason than they had two vintage school house style lights, at a reasonable price, that fit well in our house.They were also reasonable for rewiring and adding mounting hardware for two vintage pendant lights we have, and will get a 3rd light when I get to it.Not to mention their reproduction light prices seemed reasonable.They are worth a stop if you're looking for new/different/custom lights or need any rewired.

Mando Monica: I love this place. Good old fashioned service. You will never get service like this at any big box store or online retailer. I could have re-wired several lamps myself but these people do such nice work at such a reasonable cost I just decided to have them do it. They have lots of parts, shades, and finials on hand.

Dee Dee Hill: Amazing fixtures, the home owner Dean Banowetz was beyond excited when they were installed. The fixtures line up perfectly with the counter, they do not overwhelm the space. I’m pretty sure he will be ordering again from Filament.
ejgayosomd: Todd and his employees are the very best. Very large and unique selection of lights. We live in Washington DC and have a summer home in Rehoboth Beach, DE . We have a very large dining room table in our beach home and we needed a a statement piece to really accent our dining room. We sent pictures and dimensions to Todd and he immediately sent us back several potential chandeliers. We chose a beautiful piece that was exactly what we had been looking for. It was shipped and at our front door within 3-5 days. One of the small globes had cracked in transit. We notified Todd and a replacement was shipped the next day. We could not be more happy with the product and customer service. Would highly recommend without reservation. Thanks again Todd and Filament lighting !

So anything with a canopy bigger than 5 inches won’t work. We were heartbroken! Thankfully they were willing to let us exchange it.And Karen was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. She perfectly understood our aesthetic and walked us through the entire online catalog in order to find another chandelier that would work with our beam situation as well as fit with our style. Turns out the one we found we love even more than the first one!We could not be happier! Top notch customer service! All the stars!

Kelly O'Kane: If you are a fan of mid-century design and distinctive design in general, this store is a must visit. The inventory is beautifully displayed, and the vintage items are in beautiful condition. I found Modilumi when I was looking for someone to help me turn two art glass vases into lamps. If you are a long time St. Paul resident like me, you know we have lost several of our local stores where we can get lighting repair and restoration done. The owner, Lex, is very knowledgeable, and provides genuine customer service. He did a beautiful job wiring my vases, including a pair of excellent quality dimmer switches. If you have shopped for lighting in the big box stores, you know how expensive it can be. For the same price or less, you can buy something at Modilumi that is far more distinctive. This is a great local business to support.
Nancy Thies: We just happened upon this gem of a store while out walking along 7th St in St Paul. Beautiful, retro lamps. We love the Mid-century modern look but, there is something for everyone. We purchased 2 lamps on our first visit and, went back the next day for a 3rd. Lex knows his business and offers the epitome of customer service. He shortened a cord for us, in a matter of 2 min. He exchanged a switch, no extra charge. He is willing to work with the customer to create the perfect lamp for the look they are striving for.We plan to make Modilumi our go-to lamp store. And recommend it for anyone looking for unique lighting.

Three of them look wonderful. Sadly the pendants over the kitchen island were supposed to be satin nickel but the color for satin nickel from this Mfgr was very dark - almost a brassy color. I couldn't return the fixtures because there were already installed. Both Pam & Susan were very kind and worked with me to try & resolve the problem. I will certainly purchase at this store again!

Tom Wrzos: I recently called and visited Southern Lights and the best word I can use to describe my interaction with them is GRATEFUL. I purchased a couple of items from them about 12 years ago so they really didn't owe me anything and yet they treated me as if I had done a million dollars in business with them. I have a couple of Holtkotter spots that needed reapair so I gave them a call. The person that answered the phone was incredible and she put me in touch with Ryan. Ryan was incredible and so was the other gentleman in the warehouse. While Ryan couldn't repair my spotlight he gave me another option that worked out very well. Thank you very much to every person I talked to and interacted with. THAT is how you excel at customer service.

Not only did she call me back after work day, but spent an hour with me asking questions for which I supplied various pictures and explanations. By the end of the call, she had a new sink faucet scheduled for delivery in two days, had identified the parts of the bar shower that she was calling Delta about in the morning, and sent me a parts list for the tub filler with an explanation of how a couple of connections were to be made.
