The Art Academy: what do users think?

Barbara Mundahl: The Art Academy has taught me so much about art and myself. Their tenet is that making good art is not about talent, but about patience and persistence. I completely trust the instructors and the process. I wish I had discovered the Art Academy sooner! I absolutely love being there.

Heather Chandler: The art academy is an amazing place! I feel so lucky to have found this home away from home. The owners are wonderful and they have taught me so much about art. I love going there and the welcoming environment feels like home!

Gracie Borell: Personally speaking, the Art Academy has brought a lot of growth and meaning to my life. I have seen my art grow with the encouragement from the instructors who truly care about each and every one of their students. They remember students from over 20 years ago and have nothing but kind, inspirational memories of them which is truly remarkable. The teaching style incorporates traditional methods of learning art with the philosophy that art is learnable and anyone who wants to do it can.The school has many connections and often brings in working artists who have made careers for themselves. The Art Academy breaks down the commonly held belief that art is not a viable career. Students at every level have the opportunity to meet peers who will push them in a positive way. I would recommend the art academy to parents curious art student alike, it will really improve your art in all ways possible.

Megan Robinson: I've really enjoyed taking classes here over the years. I started many years ago, as a kid, and then started back up during Covid. I was so happy to find something to do remotely and I've continued classes ever since. Jim is a fantastic teacher! He's patient and has a great eye. These classes can teach anyone to draw. I've had people in my classes just learning the basics, up to master oil painters. It's a diverse bunch of people all learning and having fun together. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in art!

Joel Rogness: approach to art instruction: proscribed and restrained. Perhaps your ten year old would thrive with this contemplative, staid approach to art; ours did not.

Kristine M.: I'd give them more stars if I could. This is art taught as the masters were taught. It is slow, a bit tedious and challenging but your skill will undoubtedly increase as long as you put in the work. This no quicky paint and sip that will leave you with a canned canvas at the end of the night. Nor is it Bob Ross or Sarah from Let's Make Art. Those things are the fast fashion of art classes. This is true study art. After the first term, which has a set progression of projects, you decide what direction or discipline you want next. While I am an adult learner the majority of their classes are for kids and teens, the methodology is adapted to be age appropriate. I cannot recommend The Art Academy enough.

Beth Reilly: Great teachers that teach fundamentals of art.

T Michael Rock: Good teacher and resources to inspire your inner artist.

guk guk: Are the teachers nice/patient?

Robert Noirjean: Excellent way to learn how to draw and paint! Very nice owners/instructors.

Steven Theiss: This place is magic! Jim and Sarah are great art instructors for both youths and adults at all levels.

Ann Knuttila: I love the philosophy at The Art Academy: anyone can draw or paint, it just takes teaching the proper skills and practice, which is exactly what we found at their classes. My 6YO and 8YO get excited every week to come to class and have taken away some great best practices in just a few short weeks. They are learning skills that will forever build their artistic confidence. Everyone at The Art Academy is extremely kind and welcoming. We can’t wait to sign up for more classes!

Lacey: My 7 year old has not missed a session with The Art Academy since he turned age 5. He loves the format and gets so excited about his projects! It is a wonderful experience to have found instruction with a focus on quality over quantity, even with kids starting as young as Kindergarten.

Mary Trojack: Myself and three of my children take classes at The Art Academy. The quality of the instruction is phenomenal. The program itself is the result of years of careful research into the history and technique of painting and drawing. The classes will give you a profound respect for the great masters, and the tools to imitate them. The teachers are warm and encouraging in helping you reach your artistic goals. I have highly recommend this school to my friends and family.

Andrew Short: I've been going to The Art Academy since I was 7, I'm now 22. I've had 15 years of great memories some of which include being an instructor there. The Art Academy has given me confidence in my drawing and painting. If you stick with it you'll learn tons. Honestly I'm still learning new things with every class.

She was inclusive, was able to learn all of the kids names and call them by it. She practiced growth mindset with kids. She made my daughter feel special and all of the kids left happy. Finally, she was even able to make my mother-in-law happy and that is no small feat!.Don't think twice, book your party here; you will not regret it.

Kalie Jane Elzea: Love ARTrageous Adventures for my two young boys to go after school till mom or dad get up there to pick them up after school. They do so much fun things and make the coolest crafts they get to bring home. The teachers their are all super sweet and very helpful to the kids and can/ARE teaching those kiddos manners along the way too. .it's a tough job, giving props.

They were very accommodating, helped introduce new art techniques, using mixed medium, and just facilitating creativity in a happy, friendly way. Great place for anyone with an artistic streak, or anyone with a creative impulse. Inclusive and fun, what more could your ask?

Varun Dhawan: Nice place to celebrate art with kids

Christopher Brand: Miss Amanda runs an amazing studio that exposes children to art in super engaging ways. Whether as day care or after school activity your kids not have a better opportunity to engage with art.

Articulture: what do users think?

Bill Horn: Summer camps are wonderful. Very engaging for our non-joiner little one.

Tony Dallas: Fun for whole family!!!Great prices.

Meghan Lin: and then decorated. Our only issue is finding space for all her creations, lol, we hadn't fully thought through that aspect of it when she said she wanted to do art camp all summer. She loves it though, they keep her very engaged, one teacher played Mad Libs games that she loved, and they go outside to the playground a lot. I really want to sign up for some adult classes now, her projects look so fun!

Brandi Leder: My daughter has done 4 different summer camps here and they have all been great! As far as keeping the kids safe during covid they seem to be doing a great job. If someone isn't wearing their mask properly they help them adjust it. Which is more than I can say about other camps.

Nina: Articulture is amazing! Providing artistic opportunities all while supporting local artist! The executive director Liz is an amazing spirit! Everyone here including the retail comittee are awesome. You can find unique items at the gift shop and they provide basic art supplies too!

Yannis Da Greek: Great non-profit with really dedicated people carrying for everyone.

Sara Boutros: A great non-profit organization with lots of great classes for adults and your kiddos!

Ellie Leonardsmith: Fantastic, open ended classes. My kid had a blast!

Samantha: I had a great time making art! There was also a sweet, sweet dog there that deserves 5/5 on her own.

Zoe Olson: My 5 year old took 2 weeks worth of art classes in the summer of 2017 and loved it!

Adeel Ahmad: We've done 3 camps here so far this summer and have one more to go. My five year-old has been loving it and I highly recommend it. We've been doing half-days but I would easily recommend full days.At the end of each week I'm amazed at how much they produced during the week, even doing half-days which usually include snack and walk outside. The topics of each camp are extremely diverse and I had a hard time narrowing down to just the four weeks that we needed. Prices are very reasonable for what you get, which is excellent teachers, excellent staff and excellent curriculums.

Minnesota Center For Book Arts: what do users think?

Deborah C: Truthfully, I visited because I heard about the gift shop from social media and was blown away. The shop features a ton of local artists, and artists from marginalized communities. They have a huge selection of zines, prints, and greeting cards. I ended up getting four greeting cards and two stickers, but I would've absolutely gone home with more if my bank account allowed for it.

Osman Bayram: Great peoples 👍

Greta Casey: Great makerspace for book artists, library, gathering place for writers, and a nice little gift shop. Added bonus: Milkweed Press!

Jens Holmboe: This place is the best. I have been there twice with my classes and, as a teacher, the experience for the kids is superb.

Chelsey S: Wonderful workshops available from passionate artist professionals. Once you have some experience with the techniques and equipment you can sign up for open ‘lab’ or commit to renting studio time.I attended Marbling 1 workshop with Michelle Blodgett and found it well taught..and the form very addicting!

Seesaw Ching: Love it

Max Schaffer: This place is totally incredible, got an amazing print here I’ve cherished for years and there’s awesome resources for learning all sorts of amazing art styles!

Justin Lee Miller: The best cafe in the neighborhood. Gift shop is nice. Ironically, they don't carry stationary. I guess no one writes letters but me.

Angela Zhang: The set up is very creative and very very nice. The shop is full of trinkets for bookworms and artists. The little zine exhibit there during my visit was great.

rod mason: Printing, typesetting, other book arts

Marti Simmons: Lots of artists and book binders at work. Great store if you love paper and paper arts!

I'm not an artist and certainly an amateur observer of art who greatly enjoyed the leading questions and engagement when offered by staff. In particular the lanky young employee who politely informed me of their water bottle policy before I entered the first exhibit also proved to be a wealth of information. In the very next room another employee successfully challenged me into recognizing a word in what largely appeared to be a jumble of chaos. The statue garden was fantastic and actively enjoyed by children adding a practical value to the inherent aesthetic value.

Kidcreate Studio - Eden Prairie: what do users think?

Carolina Rost: Love all the classes Kid Create has to offer, my daughter always makes such fun things and has a blast in class. The new studio is fantastic too! Highly recommend for any of your art-loving kiddos out there.

Amy Schlangen: An absolute gem - not sure why I hadn’t heard of this place sooner! As a mom who loves the idea of doing art projects with her son, but doesn’t want to do all the prep and clean up for it, this is a perfect solution! We created two fun projects in our 45 minute class, and then got to leave the mess for someone else to clean. Win win!

Terry Goeman: Great fun for Grandparents & Grandchildren!

D O: Our kids had a blast here today. We will definitely return!

Amber Stacks: My son loved going to a once a week art class. The teachers were warm and welcoming and my kiddo had the pleasure of getting to use supplies we don't normally get to use at home in a way that created beautiful pieces of art!

Joanne Kinney: but often the teachers do most of the work which is super disappointing to my kids and they dismiss them early too. If the class is 1.5 hours, use it, don’t just dismiss them after 45 minutes. Kidcreate does offer some neat projects though but little consistency with teachers and how classes an are taught.

Alysse Thibodeau: My son loved the Messy play camp. It was a positive, creative environment for him to expand on his art skills.

Molly Michalowski: My daughter loved her art camp at Kidcreate Studio!

Nikki Daly-Moller: Great place for kids to be creative with instruction which helps then become a better artist.

Rupal Bain: We did the Hawaiian art camp this summer and my 2 boys loved making new things with paint, clay and colors. They did a great job working on specific art projects. Would recommend this.

Amy Weaver: My 7yo daughter had a great time at the Tie-Dye class and is very proud of her new t-shirt. It was the perfect way for her to spend the morning while I took care of errands and appointments. We will definitely be back!

s polley: We have had great experience with our kiddos attending craft parent night out. The staff are kind, the projects are fun, and our kids always want to stay until the very end. We are planning to continue using Kidcreate as long as we can!!

Jamie M. Kocourek: I took my 2 year old for a class and she had so much fun! I like that you can sign up for one-off classes

Gabrielle: My daughter loves Kidcreate! She’s attended birthday parties & also done parent time off activities. She always has a great time, highly recommend!

joshua benjamin: We found the studio while googling "kids art classes with clay". Lucked out and found a parents night out event happening same day. The kids had so much fun creating art and can't wait to go back!

Anne Laraway: had a blast at a half day "April Fools Day" themed class over spring break! They haven't shown me what

Danielle Spradlin: The instructors are very engaging. My student has had a great time at parties and camps. She always asks to come back for another session. The instructors are very encouraging and have a gentle sense of humor with children.

Marie Rohman: So much fun! My kids had a great time. Such a great activity for a cold winter day!

Perpich Center for Arts Education: what do users think?

Zoey Peterson: My daughter attends this school for media arts currently and I attended for dance in the 90s. I can’t say enough good things about this school. My daughter and I both found “traditional” public schools challenging in the social and academic department but both found the complete opposite at perpich. Obviously no school is perfect but I found and continue to find perpich to be as close to as I have seen

Kathy Berlin: My son received impactful and meaningful education at Perpich Arts High School. The staff are dedicated to the educational growth of each student , offering a supportive environmentThat meets the needs of each student.

Gj Thompson: A great community of artistic individuals where students learn not only about art and academics, but also important skills that are valuable in the transition to adulthood, and in life.

Gabrielle Schenk: I had an incredible arts education at this High School and would recommend it to any student who is looking to express their creative abilities and have beyond excellent teachers/mentors.

Lindsey Pleasants: I spent my junior and senior year here in 03. As a theater major, I learned technical skills and intricate training that I wouldn't have began learning until I was in college, which prepared me for advanced materials and methods of acting that were beyond my age. The staff and dorm team make life on campus easy and much like home, as much as you are living your daily art area. This school made me learn my true potential and I will never forget the dreams inside these hallways.

Colby Brumit: Excellent education centered in the arts. As an alumni I can wholeheartedly recommend. Such an amazing experience!

Annika Homstad: I graduated in 2013 from Media at PCAE. I can easily say that attending the Arts High School was one of the happiest times in my life. I was able to receive an education that fit my learning learning style, and dive into art that I loved. I was allowed to explore both myself, and my voice creatively with the support of amazing, dedicated teachers. I received more support and guidance in preparation for college than any of my friends who stayed at my previous high school. I was able to jump into University with an impressive resume and skills that have served me well. Attending Perpich was an opportunity that I am lucky to have gotten, and I hope that many more individuals like myself are able to discover and thrive at the Perpich Center for Arts Education.

Abigail Marolt: The best life decision I could have made.

Kevin Wellmann: Great Place, fun Experience. My wife and I attended a class last weekend and had a fantastic time. If you or anyone you know are looking for a fun educational experience this is it! Cant wait to take another glass class!

Annie Powell: Took a Boro class and it was fantastic! So thankful for Potekglass and Malcolm!!!

Jess Birken: My daughter and I took a class here and had a really great time. Malcom is a great teacher and by the end we were building confidence with our skills. A++

Lori Miller: Three of us did the try it class today for basics with boron. We all learned so much about manipulating glass using a torch. Malcom is a great teacher and this class covered a lot of skills in the time we had. We learned about the torch and gathering glass and did some blowing and sculpting. His teaching style of watching him and then us doing it helped us repeat the steps each time with starting the torch up and shutting it down. Great job Malcom we will be back!

matty mcd: The ppl were great, and the only place I can find 104coe glass Nearby.
