Ryan O'Halloran: Incredible food and super friendly staff. Everyone was checking on my table even if they weren't my usual waiter. The food was incredible and very rich. I had the Marrow Toast which was absolutely awesome and the Duck Confit Stroganoff which was a touch salty but the flavors were incredible otherwise. The drink selections were vast and interesting and overall it was a great experience. I would say the one minor complaint I had is that with so many rich dishes on the menu I wish there was a side salad option.
Cathy A.: Stopped in for lunch after arriving from NYC and what a welcome! The decor is beautiful. We sat in a private area and it felt like a private brunch party. The food was great and the service was even better. Our sever, Nicki, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The Manager, Willie, was beyond hospitable and attentive. He checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure everything was perfect. The cornbread was great and the coffee was better than the big name brands. Will definitely be stopping in again during our stay!

Our server, Mario, was spectacular. Attentive and personable. He was also kind enough to give us happy hour prices even though we technically weren't sitting on the happy hour side of the curtain. That meant a lot to us as we didn't see anything on line stating these prices only applied to certain tables and was a factor in our choosing this eatery.Food: Delicious. I appreciated the many gluten free options. I had cornbread and the stuffed mushrooms. The cornbread was amazing! I shared it with my husband but could have easily eaten it all myself. The mushrooms were a bit heavy on the garlic. I would have preferred that flavor to have been a bit more subtle. My husband had the bison burger and enjoyed it. It's spicy but as he described, "a nice level of heat." We had the vanilla bean creme brulee, and it was a wonderfully smooth, flavorful custard.Drinks: Good. I had a glass of Chateau St Michelle Riesling, a wine I choose often so I knew I'd like it. My husband had the Old Fashioned, which was made with Maker's Mark and just isn't his favorite alcohol, but that's not really the restaurant's fault as he did choose to order it.Overall, this is a place we'd visit again the next time we're in the theater district!
Keitha McKinney: This was one of the best experiences I’ve had. We were there for my cousins birthday dinner our serve Nick was great he didn’t miss a beat very professional, friendly and funny. The manager Willie came over to see how it was going. & introduced hisself to see whose birthday it was, he made sure we got a birthday dessert. Informed us about the weekend breakfast for our birthday as well. The food was great, you could cut the steak with a butter knife. The overall experience was great I would definitely recommend this hidden gem. Once again I would like to say thank you to Nick & Willie

Jonathan Robinson: Absolutely phenomenal food and experience. Our server Louis was beyond amazing as he took the time to explain the dishes, cocktails, and so much more. Hat's off!Speaking of dishes, the bison tartare was increibly good, but we were blown away by the flavor of the duck ragu in the Torchietti. We had it made gluten-free to accommodate my wife's dietary needs, and the pasta was still delicious! We didn't stop there, adding an order of the pork chop for me and Alaskan halibut for my wife. The flavor profile on the pork chop dish was insanely big, bold, and wonderful. It was such a contrast to the halibut, which was also wonderful but much more delicate. Both were great. We were stuffed. There was no room for dessert, but since we had let it be known we were out celebrating a special event, we were not to leave without a wonderful little celebration treat. It was much appreciated!Our seating was at the Chef's Counter, and it couldn't have been more perfect. It gave us witness to all the incredible work going on in the kitchen as well as all the dishes that were getting prepped. TheDietary restrictions: My wife is gluten-free, and not only do they accommodate this with some of their dishes they go above and beyond to communicate between the waiter and kitchen about the dietary needs. This shows up starting with bread basket modifications, moves into extra tasting bites supplied to us from the head chef, and follows through to all our entrees and special desserts. Phenomenal staff coordination and cooperation.

Jalen Bell: So when I walked past this place, my first thought was Gordon Ramsey’s famous tv show. Turns out they’re a local business, no affiliation. The burger was absolutely fantastic! Well seasoned, temperature just right, and it had bacon and tangy sauce that was similar to 1000 island. Bonus: They branded the bun with the logo which I thought was cool. Ordered cheesecake for dessert. A bit pricy but well worth the quality of food. I’d def eat here again when I’m in town.

Janelle Sorenson: Know the restaurants that play overly loud music, so you can't talk while at a table? Thankfully, this is NOT one of them. We have been here quite a few times, and the food, service, and atmosphere are always top-notch. The first time, we didn't realize the happy hour menu was only for the bar and patio ... it would be nice if it was restaurant-wide. Otherwise, the food is incredible. Having a vegetarian in the family, there are quite a few options available at this place! Parking is a breeze at this location, too! We will be back!

Heather Kaiser: This is one of our special occasion places! The food and ambience is always so great. If you have friends visiting from out of town, this is the place you want to take to impress them. We like the bar side, but went for a date night recently and ate on the dinner side. We had an impromptu four course meal that was curated by our server. We took out time and didn't feel rushed. Every server and staff seem to be in a good mood and polite, whether they are bringing you food, cleaning your table, or passing you on your way out. I definitely recommend going about an hour before sunset. PS the setting in the former monk's quarters is beautiful.

The skin was tasty. The black rice and sauce were nice compliments to the meat.🐖 The pork chop was a beautiful, thick cut of meat. We ordered it medium and it may have been ever so slightly cooked a little under medium. Seasoning was perfect and had a nice, tart flavor coming through with the sauerkraut.🍠 🌟 WOW! 🤩 The sweet potatoes were the star of the evening! Sweet, savory, bright and fresh with lemon, crispy skins… just wow! Order the sweet potatoes!!🍰 For dessert, we ordered the chocolate panna cotta and olive oil cake. Both were absolutely stunning and would fit right in at any patisserie! Excellent flavors, textures, and presentation! Faultless!I’ll definitely be coming back!

Rocky R: This is a go-to spot in downtown for a lot of corporate workers. It can get busy but in a good way with lots of conversations going on. Great place to bring your friends or to come with your crew from work and just do a little venting. They have a good spot to sit outside and do some people watching as well. We got our coffees quick and he recommended both the roll and eggs benedict that we ended up choosing! The role was phenomenal, definitely could be a full meal for someone, but we ended up sharing this and pictured is a half order of the eggs benedict; definitely plenty of food. The eggs Benedict came with hashbrowns that were done perfectly. The eggs benedict was great even had a little kick to it. Overall, fantastic experience we will definitely be back!

The home fries were much bigger than what I was used to, but I really enjoyed them this way as they were not dried out like some of the small ones can be. They were also very flavorful. I would hands down get this meal again.The only knock to the News Room, is that the service was not good. Good idea to visit both this location and Parlour in the basement if you are making a trip to the cities for either restaurant.Parking: Parking was very easy for us on a Tuesday as a spot was open in the paid parking lot 20 feet from door, on a weekend it may be tougher as this area has more limited parking and is very busy on weekends. Likely valet would be the way to go on the weekend and visit both Borough and Parlour to get full value!

Mike Velo: When setting out on my burger tour of North America I knew I had to stop here. In a way I visited Minneapolis just to try this iconic burger. It did not disappoint. Not only was the food delicious and the absolute best embodiment of a cheese stuffed hamburger, but the staff was super friendly. I know a lot of these places kind of pride themselves on hostility to out of towners while embracing the locals, which I can totally understand but still I was happy to be treated so well. Matt C: Great atmosphere, nicely appointed, felt more like a classy bar / steakhouse vibe than a bbq joint. But don’t let that fool you because the food was amazing! We had the bbq platter for 2 and I can say this was some of the best bbq I’ve had in my life. The meet was tender, Smokey, and juicy. I was shocked at how well the cooked the pork chop - those tend to dry out but not here. This chef is a pit master. Beyond that we had cheesy broccoli and collard greens - they both were also divine. Each was so uniquely flavorful in their own right yet they complemented the bbq perfectly. The only let down during this experience was the fact that that were out of many drinks and the beer selection was also rather disappointing. I understand that ownership is changing hands mid March so hopefully that doesn’t impact the amazing bbq. I also wasn’t excited about ordering from the bar, but the service was great.

The Poutine was wild, the burgers are great, and even the mocktails are worth a shot. Do note it can get a little busy so service may take longer, but the TV's playing random movies may help keep you occupied.

Mike Boardley: Beautiful, old school, dinner club. The outdoor patio is gorgeous as well. Jax Cafe is a Minneapolis institution. Dinning here harkens back to the days of old where men were men. They wore suits dinner jackets.The food here is quite good as well. My wife got the pork chop and I got the smothered ribeye. Both entrees were delicious and well portioned.On our next visit we plan to try their fish. One reason is you can choose which fish you want from their outdoor stream and pond. You are given a net and can scoop out the one you want.Jax is an excellent place to have a romantic dinner. So if you’re looking for a warm, intimate atmosphere, this is the place. We highly recommend Jax Cafe.

Jordan Hermann: If you've never been? Go. Nothing ever changes. It's a time warp. I'm surprised you can't still smoke at Jax. Classic supper club. Ya get yer shrimp cocktail, yer ceasar salad, and a huge slab of prime rib and wash it all down with a Gibson. All served to you by a waitress that's most likely worked there for 30 years and has an old timey name like "Dolores". Or you can always catch your own trout out of the stream on their garden patio, that's always fun.

Jay Sivasailam: This is just a fantastic place! It's been one of my top places in Minneapolis for at least a decade and never fails to disappoint. It strikes a nice balance of being classic and fresh. With the bonus of having stellar food and service. Somehow I still think it's underrated with all the restaurant opening up. But if you want a top-tier place that never fails to disappoint, hit up the eatery!PS The butterscotch budino continues to be my favorite dessert.

The menu was unfussy and well priced.My husband and I have had poor restaurant experiences for a couple years now and lamented that eating out was just not worth the cost anymore. 112 Eatery completely changed our minds. We are thrilled to find our new favorite spot in Minneapolis- We will be back for more!

Shawn Miranda: I've had the burger 3 times and it has never been good, always over salted and over cooked. Their fried chicken sandwich however is very well made.Servers have been friendly and prompt every time. The ambience is great, the lights are dim, and it feels cozy.The music however is way too loud. At the bar, it registers on my Apple Watch at around 78-80dB.The cocktails are easily the highlight. I've had a few of the house cocktails and they've all been top tier. They also make the IBA classics extremely well. They're brave enough to offer to put an egg white in the whisky sour and it definitely pays off.
Abriana Allen: My friends and I visit Parlour regularly. We enjoy the vibes, the cocktails, the service, and of course THE BURGERS. Believe the hype. Simple yet delicious. The cocktails - you can of course order great drinks off the menu, but also, you can tell the bartender to surprise you! I enjoy the creativity. However, I’m writing a review for the service I received via phone yesterday. I recently purchased an online gift card for a friend and they unfortunately didn’t receive it. I called Parlour and they were incredibly kind and understanding. Within a few minutes, the manager called me back and they reissued the gift card in less than 30 minutes. I was prepared for follow-up phone calls and redirects to other contacts, but they made it quick and simple. It makes sense given the friendly service we’ve experienced when we dine-in. Thanks, Parlour team!
Alissa Elles: Parking in street or a very small parking lot with valet. Two flight of stairs down to get to restaurant basement level. Awesome mood lighting, very dim. Seating is limited. The isle from front of the restaurant to the back of the restaurant is very narrow and not comfortable to squeeze by everyone sitting at the bar. Service was okay, per seat yourself sign we did and waitresses was completely oblivious that we sat ourselves even though she walked past us three times. We got the burgers with fries and one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had. Very very spendy. Wouldn't say kid friendly or wheelchair accessible.

Maddie Hasiewicz: Fantastic cocktails! The cucumber Martini and blood orange margarita were so good. Fresh ingredients and well balanced! I ordered the mexican poke bowl for dinner and the fish was very fresh! Very tasty and great portion.Vegetarian options: A whole page dedicated to meat free options!
John Doe: We sat down for dinner at 5:00. There were about 10 people in the restaurant. When we were finished with our meal, the restaurant was entirely filled. Now we know why. Our dinner was terrific. The food was great and our server, Keegan, was wonderful. He checked in on us through out the course of our meal. Many restaurants have great food, but it’s people like Keegan that keep people coming back.
Patrick Thompson: First time here and a great experience! Super cool place, awesome decor and environment. Overall felt very upscale but not pretentious, service was fantastic by all. Everyone was very courteous and polite, very attentive. Drink and food times were quite quick.Food was delicious, had Chicken and Avocado Eggrolls for an appetizer, steak and walleye entrees then a cookies and cream cake for dessert. Steaks were cooked just right, meal additions were handled accurately, everything was delicious, plus portion sizes did not lack, we all happily struggled to finish our plates. They surprised our daughter with a candle for fun which she was sooo excited about.
