He gave me a fair deal for my trade-in and set me up with skates that were a much better fit for me. I'm self-aware enough to know I am particular and not always the easiest customer, so kudos to him for truly making it an easy and enjoyable process. I will only shop at Dave's and work Tony going forward!

Every-time I go in there the staff is very helpful and accommodating from suiting us up with the appropriate hockey gear, custom ordering skates for extra wide feet to promptly getting our skates sharpened: I feel the store needs some updating on the interior or a remodel but then again it’s not a big box store it’s a family owned small business. They are also happy to do custom orders for team apparel. I truly appreciate them and it’s worry the drive for me.

The guy offered to have it shipped, but for some reason, the store couldn’t ship it unless it was framed. The guy was super honest, and helped me avoid spending 3x the amount. He directed me to the suppliers website, and helped me get unframed. While he might’ve lost a sale, he’s definitely earned a customer in the future!!!

Kent Elliott Allen: I’m 68, and I’ve been running since high school. Over the last year I finally had to stop running because of persistent foot injuries. I met with a sports physician and it helped but I kept getting injured. A friend recommended that I go to Fleet Feet. I got a personal fitting there, and was fitted with shoes that match my narrow, overpronating feet. Now I have run twice with no injuries. I can run again, at least a few miles at a very modest pace. I’ll slowly work up my mileage and hopefully run a few 10K races this summer. Thanks, Fleet Feet!

Mike Zasada: Matt is the most knowledgeable person around when it comes to sizing hockey skates. He will put you in the right skate with the right fit. If it isn't perfect Matt will get you as close as he can to the perfect fit. If you are having trouble with your skate or are ready for a new pair I highly recommend General Sports.
Bill Brasky: Matt is hands down the most knowledgeable about sizing hockey skates in the Twin Cities. Do not believe the Bauer computers that other retailers utilize. Trust me, I went to all of them from Rogers to Woodbury. He accurately showed me that I didn't need to size up on skates and gave advice on how to get more life out of my current skates. He also repaired a loose toe cap for next to nothing.
Matt C: Coming from a parent that knows nothing about hockey. We had a skate fitting with Tory - l learned a great deal today and felt great when I left. I had equipment that was all too big for my child, as a result of my shopping at a big name sports store that was less helpful. After this experience I could see immediately the change in posture. I am very pleased with this experience and sorry that I didn’t start here.

luckyluciano65: This is great stop for official's gear! I make a visit every time I am in the Cities to check out their inventory. I officiate baseball, and this store has everything you need: protective equipment, shirts, jackets, footwear, accessories, hats, pants, and bags. It's like shopping online, except you get to try on everything in-store. Their prices are comparable to online resources as well. They usually have some good deals on clearance items that are out of season or discontinued. I have bought a few of these items for a significant mark down. The staff is friendly and helpful. They do have an online version of their store, although I have not used it.

Kyle Fisher: If you are thinking about getting new skates, schedule a skate fitting on their website and drive any distance to go here. Matt and Tory are incredible and won't settle until your skates fit perfectly. I have ugly feet and skated with pain since I was a teenager, but after working with them my feet finally feel great in skates.
Cort JMK Insurance: Matt and the staff at General are some of the best skate fitters around. Very knowledgeable and able to customize/tweak any skate
