Heather Kaiser: This is one of our special occasion places! The food and ambience is always so great. If you have friends visiting from out of town, this is the place you want to take to impress them. We like the bar side, but went for a date night recently and ate on the dinner side. We had an impromptu four course meal that was curated by our server. We took out time and didn't feel rushed. Every server and staff seem to be in a good mood and polite, whether they are bringing you food, cleaning your table, or passing you on your way out. I definitely recommend going about an hour before sunset. PS the setting in the former monk's quarters is beautiful.

Sweet, savory, bright and fresh with lemon, crispy skins… just wow! Order the sweet potatoes!!🍰 For dessert, we ordered the chocolate panna cotta and olive oil cake. Jonathan Robinson: Absolutely phenomenal food and experience. Our server Louis was beyond amazing as he took the time to explain the dishes, cocktails, and so much more. Hat's off!Speaking of dishes, the bison tartare was increibly good, but we were blown away by the flavor of the duck ragu in the Torchietti. We had it made gluten-free to accommodate my wife's dietary needs, and the pasta was still delicious! We didn't stop there, adding an order of the pork chop for me and Alaskan halibut for my wife. The flavor profile on the pork chop dish was insanely big, bold, and wonderful. It was such a contrast to the halibut, which was also wonderful but much more delicate. Both were great. We were stuffed. There was no room for dessert, but since we had let it be known we were out celebrating a special event, we were not to leave without a wonderful little celebration treat. It was much appreciated!Our seating was at the Chef's Counter, and it couldn't have been more perfect. It gave us witness to all the incredible work going on in the kitchen as well as all the dishes that were getting prepped. TheDietary restrictions: My wife is gluten-free, and not only do they accommodate this with some of their dishes they go above and beyond to communicate between the waiter and kitchen about the dietary needs. This shows up starting with bread basket modifications, moves into extra tasting bites supplied to us from the head chef, and follows through to all our entrees and special desserts. The signature Old Fashioned is beyond compare. The raw bar was fresh and their oysters incredibly delicious. We did a series of appetizers and cocktails the bar staff was friendly and efficient and fun! It was still the same great Oceanaire we remembered and we won't be waiting to go back! They escort you through large doors and seat you immediately, assuming you made reservations in advance. I find the complex mixtures of ingredients to make a totally new dish fun and exciting. If this is you, you will adore Demi. The food is sublime, the ambience serene, and the service is impeccable and joyful.From the moment we stepped inside, we felt welcomed. We started with a warm broth made from roasted beets. Light and warming. The first course was a triple. The sweet potato tart with pickled kombu, nori, black truffle, and miso was absolutely scrumptious. The other two small bites were lovely, but, oh my, that sweet potato tart! These were followed with a lovely fresh scallop crudo, beautifully plated. I adore foie gras, and the Demi version was slices of a terrine served with prune and preserved lemon. The foie gras was smooth; this was really yummy.The fish course was sturgeon, interestingly served with rutabaga puree and little slices of crispy rutabaga. This really worked.The pasta dish was so delicious, and I mean really, really delicious. This is the type of pasta you think about for days. These were chestnut agnolotti, served with celery root, cognac cream, and pomegranate. I could have eaten a huge bowl of these. A triumph in flavor and texture. Mmmmm!The duck and beef courses were also delicious, cooked perfectly, with perfect accomplishments. I had to laugh at the cheese course, as it was actually a cheese tartlet, with endive marmalade and pine nuts. These were perfect.We had a delicious sorbet palate cleanser, and a very interesting sunchoke bavaroise and ice cream dessert. And you leave with a little box of candies. This is a nice touch.Eating here is an adventure in deliciousness. Every dish is beautifully plated on interesting service ware. Your water glass never goes unfilled. You are served at your own pace. Eleanor Frisch: This is the finest dining in Minneapolis, hands down. I went in February 2024 and everything was executed with meticulous care. Every single dish was perfectly balanced. There was nothing superfluous, nothing too heavy, nothing too acidic. The wine pairings were well thought out. Also, none of the staff forgot I was a pescatarian at any point. It was also the perfect amount of food. For the quality of the food the prices were extremely reasonable. I have been to most of the fine dining establishments in the Metro and don't think the others, like Travail or Spoon and Stable, which are amazing in their own right, can really compare to Tenant. This is where you bring a true foodie if you want to impress them.

Sea Change: what do users think?

Jeannie Hill: We’ve enjoyed brunch, dinner, and just appetizers here over the years in conjunction with attending performances at The Guthrie Theater. Actually, once we can another time just for the food. If you want truly five-star food and service, The Sea Change restaurant doesn’t disappoint. It’s “sustainable seafood” and raw bar have served us both super fresh and unique dishes each time.For anyone living in the Twin Cities and wanting exceptional dining with fish as the featured dishes, or are visiting here, the Sea Change experience is worth the added price! We don’t think that exceptional food and service should be at comparable prices for typical dishes. The creativity of the chef and staff merits a special outing and tipping them too.We’ve had the same server more than once, and really found her most pleasant and helpful.I recommend trying the tuna tartare, oysters, and mussels if you are between appealing entrée options. The staff gave us suggestions as to accompanying drinks and we found their advice was right on.We give Chef Tim McKee and Culinaire high praise for the atmosphere and how this restaurant stands out for serving both the local community and out-of-town visitors who are looking for something unique and well-executed.For cocktails both Toes in the Sand and Snow Cone are terrific orange infused beverages. On one cold frost day in particular, they served up some of the best hot chocolates we’ve had.Parking is no problem and we love dining by its huge and beautiful windows. We’ve brought guests 3x and each party really enjoyed the experience and expressed their appreciation. We want to return now that the Guthrie has resumed performances!

John Wood: Went here for dinner with my wife and brother. We were seated promptly and service was very attentive. The vibe of this place is really interesting, especially the décor.The adult beverage list is extensive and reasonably priced.My brother and I ordered the Wagu Butter Burger - 10/10! Maybe tope 3 burgers I've ever had in my life. It was perfection. The fries were also a cut above.My wife's Mediterranean sampler tasted fine, but she said my burger was better.No complaints at all. I'll be back!

Steve Mcguire: Amazing establishment! Felt like I walked into a Vegas restaurant and but this place put them to shame!! The drinks were amazing, all the staff were beyond kind and friendly, the bartenders we're more like artists with fruit, and the food... man... I could write for days but alas I'm not a writer for the star and I have my own job to get back to 🤣🙏💪🙌

Ishmam Ahmed: Fhima’s blends flavorful food options with a unique, glitzy experience. Great place for a birthday, date, or gathering—and right down the street from First Ave. The espresso martini here was sublime, as was the Moroccan mint with cucumber vodka—seriously, the first sips here will knock socks off. The lamb cigars and chicken tagine are definitely great moves here—I highly recommend both. The curtained booths make for a special experience. For a restaurant serving Spanish and Moroccan food, I was expecting warmer colors to be part of the interior design. The green lighting and polished surfaces everywhere were missing a sense of warmth—giving major Slytherin common room vibes the whole time. Coupled with the fact that service was a bit spotty at times, these are minor complaints next to the splendid food and drinks.

Nonya Bidness: This spot was amazing. We went for dinner. The flavor/seasoning of the wagyu steak was perfect and it was cooked perfectly. The finger potatoes were spicy but very very good. Service was spot on and the atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. The creme brûlée was average but I can’t hold that against them. I would absolutely recommend this spot.

Jacob Danner: my original 1915 Singapore Sling recipe from Raffles Hotel Long Bar, which he recreated flawlessly giving rise to taste buds stimulation. It was so unique, and a photograph of it is included.I proceeded to have a Moroccan dish “Lamb Meatball Tagine”. It was served to me in the tagine, and, as the server lifted the top of it, and waved it about, the aromatic signature of the dish, with its wonderful blend of Moroccan herbs and spices took me away to exotic lands and musings.Lamb Meatball TagineOnion confit, Ras Al Hanout

Jasmine Yang: My boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary and they honored it by giving us a free dessert and decorating our table for the occasion! We felt so cared for and our server, Ryan, was such a goofy and helpful server! The prices were high but it reflects the quality of the food! Tip: the bone marrow butter with my steak was not my favorite but if you like sweeter tasting things then go for it! Will definitely try the black truffle butter for next time. It was our first time there, and we will definitely be back. Totally recommend coming here!

Chris White: My wife, a friend, and I had the pleasure to dine at the Chophouse in April 2024 while attending a conference in Minneapolis. I'm not sure I have ever had all my expectations met at any restaurant, which I think is pretty normal. Almost no one ever hits every mark, which is ok and expected. But, this place absolutely did hit every mark.The ambiance was upscale, but perfectly retro, giving it that old school steakhouse vibe. The place was impeccably clean, and the restrooms equally perfect. Our waitress, I am sorry I can't remember her name, was the most knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive waitress I have had the pleasure to meet.The menu could not have been more thoughtfully prepared, with an appropriate level of offerings, each of which were well presented, and the food for all three of us, each ordering different types of steak offerings, was perfectly prepared and wonderful to taste. You may know by now, but my wife and I are black angus beef producers in Tennessee, so steak is something we know a little bit about.Last but not least, the wine list was most impressive I've seen in a very long time with many listed wines that are almost never offered in lesser but otherwise fine dining establishments. The manager checked on us at least twice and was very personable as well. This place was over the top and I felt it needed to be said.Dietary restrictions: I do not have dietary restrictions, but I noticed several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.Wheelchair accessibility: The construction is ADA compliant throughout.

Heather Hammerstad: We walked in and my first impression wasn’t great. The manager was short and standoffish. But our waiter Aj more than made up for it. He was AMAZING. Funny, knowledgeable, patient and very welcoming. He brought out all the meat and explained what each one was and how they’re prepared. We had the A3 Wagyu ribeye, hashbrowns and scalloped potatoes. It was all great. The hashbrowns were crispy and flavorful. The scalloped potatoes had an amazing breading and cheese. The wagyu was melt in your mouth. This is our new favorite place for getting a ribeye. Thanks Aj for a memorable night.
