MacPhail Center For Music: what do users think?

Christine Swenning: Attending music matters luncheon with family

Mischa Ortega May: I have had piano here for 9 years and the atmosphere and teachers are all super nice.

Arianna Xu: Ive been going here for 8+ years it has been pretty good

Alyssa Joye: My experience with MacPhail was nothing but amazing. My voice teacher, Thomas Speckhard was the best. I had to pause my voice lessons because of school, but I hope to return again once my schedule is more manageable. I learned so much about voice and singing from teacher Tom, and I appreciate his approach for an aspiring-frustrated singer like myself. Lol. He is the best! Thank you, MacPhail.

Debbie Willoughby: Today my granddaughter won a panio. A true blessing for us. We met the people who donated the piano such a blessing. My granddaughter was able to play for them.A bless day.A beautiful school. Thank you to the staff.

Ben Glaros Guitar Lessons: what do users think?

Evan Quinnell: I highly recommend Ben Glaros for guitar lessons in Minneapolis! After years attempting to teach myself, lessons with Ben brought the extra kick I needed to learn. Ben is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, patient and creative. All qualities you want in a teacher. He's able to break down concepts and songs of all genres into approachable lessons. Most importantly, Ben understands the deeper meaning behind music and brings that energy to his teaching. If you're looking for lessons in the Twin Cities, Ben is your guy.

Joe Charboneau: I started to re-learn guitar over a year ago after a lapse of many decades. After a year of teaching myself with online content, I reached a plateau. I found Ben Glaros after some online searching for instructors and I’m glad I started working with him. He has a very steady and encouraging teaching approach that has helped me correct some poor habits and get on a path for faster learning. Ben is great to work with!

Sam Marzouk: Ben is AMAZING! He is not only incredibly knowledgable about the guitar, but as an uncanny ability to break down complex concepts in a simple, digestible way. Of equal importance, he is also just an incredibly nice guy! I never thought I'd get this far on the guitar and thanks to Ben, I have!

Robert Brown: Wow, what a great opportunity for me, and maybe for you…. Ben was impressively easy and open, and instructive! I’m eager to take more classes from Ben.

Terry Johnson: Update. See below as all is still valid. Two things I neglected to mention. Ben also taught me the framework of songwriting & music theory. Both, coupled with the guitar knowledge he imparted, enabled me to move to a musical career … 24 plus songs with recording & performance starting later this year.Ben Glaros is an outstanding guitar teacher. His knowledge is phenomenal. What I enjoy the most about Ben is his teaching style. He is enthusiastic, very patient, and knows how to instruct at the right level. He challenges you to explore areas of music that I never thought I would hear coming from my own guitar. And it sounds beautiful.I encourage you to take lessons from Ben. You will never be disappointed and I guarantee your knowledge of music will soon surpass your greatest expectations.

Andrew Cholakian: Ben’s a great teacher, knowledgeable, fun, patient, and with an incredible depth and breadth of guitar wisdom

Mark Zukor: I can’t recommend Ben highly enough! He's patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and makes learning fun—basically, everything you’d want in a guitar teacher. I’ve only had a handful of lessons so far but I’m amazed at how much I’ve gotten out of each one. Ben is a rare teacher who’s not only an expert musician but also has a real sense for how to teach. Somehow, he’s able to focus in on exactly what I need to know, at the right time, in the right way. Each lesson has unlocked a whole new level of understanding for me that’s been super exciting and inspiring!

Ian Crawford: I've been playing for 20+ years and I teach guitar as well, but I've always felt there were some large gaps in my skills and knowledge so I reached out to Ben for lessons. It was definitely the right choice! Ben is an excellent teacher whose student-centered approach makes lessons both relaxed and deeply engaging. I especially appreciate Ben's talent for explaining musical concepts clearly and giving practical assignments that offer just the right amount of challenge. On top of learning technical skills and theory, I've also gained a lot from Ben's insights into musicianship. Highly recommended!

David Shulman: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI am a rank beginner on guitar and an old dog to boot. Ben is a real pro and has a knack for imparting great insights and techniques. I leave each lesson inspired to continue learning. My only complaint is the lessons are over before you know it! Highly recommend.

Nils Wulfsberg: Positive:QualityI've been taking lessons with Ben for roughly a decade now, and he's really helped me grow as a musician. We've learned music from all types of genres ranging from hard rock, to jazz, to classical guitar. The location is nice and welcoming as well.

The Music Lab: what do users think?

Aaron Ziegler: Great local music school providing lessons in virtually any instrument and for all ages. Very reasonably priced. Very happy they are in the neighborhood!

David Daily: I've been taking piano lessons with Josie Just at the Music Lab for a few months now and I couldn't be happier. As someone who is hoping to learn to play the piano later in life, I greatly appreciate Josie's style of teaching. She is patient, comforting, easy to communicate with and extremely knowledgable. I look forward to my lessons each week and I'm getting ready for my first "concert," which consists of playing holiday music for my family this year. Highly recommended! Be sure to reach out to Josie directly with any questions -- she is the owner/operator of the Music Lab and can help align you with the appropriate teacher for your preferred instrument and goals.

andrea eastman: Great space, awesome people!

Andrew Tjomsland: Excellent music classes!

Twin Cities Music School: what do users think?

Adam Kay: Twin cities music works with all 3 of our boys. What I love most about TCMS is that each of my boys have varying interest levels in music. They meet each one of them where they are and keep the lessons fun and low pressure. They have a long view for music appreciation, and understand that not every kid needs to be a concert level performer. Ben has worked with my older sons from the start and has kept them engaged and enjoying the process from the start. I couldn’t recommend Kelly and Twin Cities Music school any more emphatically.

Shannon Langenfeld: Lessons are fun and engaging!! My child has learned a lot!

C R: Very impressed with this music school. They have helped my children blossom but have also kept them having fun, engaged and interested in learning music. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking.

Smart Axolotl: Good

Tracey Daniels: Staff are professional and work so well with the kids. They make it super fun to learn!

Jayna Paquin: My son loves taking guitar at TCMS! His instructor has him working on his favorite popular songs--that's really piqued his interest. He even performed at his school's "music share"--that's something I never expected from him. Scheduling is simple and when we ran into a conflict mid-quarter, TCMS moved his lesson time to something that worked for us. We highly recommend TCMS!!

Jeff Tidball: Phenomenal ownership, staff, and love of music. Very highest recommendation.

Shaun McClary: Our son started drum lessons with Ben about mid-way into the pandemic. Classes were virtual and surprisingly good. I had my doubts but Ben's skills and relatability were not dependent on in-person sessions. We've now transitioned to in-person but TCMS has kept virtual classes an option for all students. The flexibility is great and this organization is run very well.

Mary Brooks: So happy we found Twin Cities Music School! Sam is wonderful with our little girl and has fed her passion for music! I would recommend this school and any of its instructors.

Joe Warner: What a great school! My kids were given a gift certificate for music lessons at this school and it is awesome! The instructors are kind and patient, they teach everything from guitars and drums to studio engineering, and they seem to be supremely knowledgeable from top to bottom. The space is about perfect! In the waiting room alone they have video games and toys to keep the kids happy, a sweet baby grand piano, and even art on the walls for us bigger kids. We are going to purchase the rest of the lessons to complete the session as it is a great value. Twin Cities Music School is truly a gem, my kids had a blast!

The Spencer House: My daughter takes piano with Kelly and voice with Brooke. She looks forward to her lessons every week and loves her teachers. Thanks for instilling a love of music in these young minds.

Kim Gartner: Our little one had such a fun, first experience learning music with Kelly! Kelly did a great job keeping our son engaged using a variety of instruments and techniques. So happy we started our music lesson journey on the right foot! Thanks TCMS!

Sarah Lehmeier: My 10 yr old daughter absolutely loves her piano lessons with Kelly. He is patient, kind, and super fun! It is obvious that he loves what he does. Thank you Twin Cities Music School!

Darcie White: My son has been a student of Kelly's for fifteen years and still loves seeing him each week!

Mark Gilbert: My son has been taking lessons with Adam at Twin Cities Music School for years. He loves his lessons, and has learned a lot. Teachers Adam and Kelly are both awesome with kids and awesome music teachers. The sign-up process is also well-run and efficient.

Kristin Lawson: Very friendly! The teachers are also very responsive to what the kids are interested in playing, which makes my son excited to play.

AJ Burger Sánchez: This is an excellent music school. It's small. The teachers are warm, friendly, patient and encouraging, and can creditably teach several instruments, which allows your student to bond and stay with one instructor, if you choose. My 7 yo and I have both taken lessons with Kelly and he's great working with different age groups, ability levels, and learning styles. We highly recommend TCMS!

Mike Holden: My son has been seeing Adam since they were at Swift Music. Adam is an amazing instructor and TCMS has gotten everything right that Swift couldn't. The communication is always great and their new setup is awesome.
