Susan Du: Cocoa and Fig created the dessert bar for our wedding. From ordering their sample box to coordinating delivery on the day of the event, working with owner Joe Lin was a breeze. It was important to us that in lieu of a wedding cake, our guests could have their pick of different treats that were elegant, naturally flavored, and not saccharine in the way that cheaper desserts can be. Cocoa and Fig was everything we hoped for. The friends and family were very happy.
Natalie Ives: We hired Cocoa and Fig for our wedding - we wanted to created a dessert table with a variety of desserts. They fit our vision perfectly - our dessert table was not only beautiful but delicious! Joe was great to work with and helped us create the perfect menu of dessert options. We are thrilled with our experience.
Monica Mack: We had a more casual wedding reception party and wanted a mini dessert spread so that guests could grab a treat as they wanted vs. waiting for a cake to be cut and served. We chose Cocoa & Fig and could not have been happier! The dessert sample box was a fun way to try out their different offerings and, when the day came, our guests raved about all the different options. Favorites were the mini key lime pie and butterscotch shooters! We ended up adding a small 6" cake to round out the dessert display and saved that to enjoy after the event. It was as delicious as everything else! Best buttercream we have ever had.

Jake Mathieu: We hired Cocoa & Fig to cater desserts at our wedding. We had a series of mini desserts and a small cake. The desserts were delivered and set up by Cocoa & Fig staff in a beautiful spread. The cake design perfectly matched the photo we sent in and the strawberry champagne flavor was one of the best tasting cakes we ever had. The mini desserts were a huge hit at the wedding. We ordered the recommended amount based on the amount of people we had at the wedding and the entire table was cleared out by the end of the night which shows how much people enjoyed them. They were very easy to work with and accommodating when our wedding had to be rescheduled during Covid. We would highly recommend!

My wife and I wanted cupcakes for our wedding and tried 6 different vendors prior to going with Cocoa & Fig. We decided to go with Cocoa and Fig due to high quality cupcakes, amazing classic and unique flavor profiles, and supporting a local business. Joe, the owner, brought us in for a personal tasting where we were able to sample and learn more about the process of making and transporting these wonderful cupcakes. We were sold and had a hard time deciding on which flavors to choose! Also, we had to make a last second change to the delivery location of the cupcakes. Joe got back to us promptly the day of the wedding to make sure the cupcakes made it to the right place. We highly recommend Cocoa and Fig as your dessert vendor for a wedding or get together big or small.
Sukanya Narayanan: In a very short notice of 48 hours, Cocoa and fig gave me a custom cake which no other bakeries did. They quickly understood my requirement, gave their suggestions and within hours they started working on the cake. I went with their sinfully chocolate and it's a must try cake for cake lovers. It was in perfect sweetness and the guests at our party kept asking for more and some had the cake packed and took it home.Theypacked it neatly and the delivery was on time. I would definitely recommend this shop for my friends for any of their special occasions. They have very good clarity of thought and they exactly understand what the customer wants. Overall a very satisfying purchase.

Noel Stroner: This brunch spot is adorable and has excellent food and drinks. The service wasn’t great - no one explained to us the self serve area vs full service area when we walked in, just stared at us. Another group walked in behind us and the staff then proceeded to explain everything quite kindly to them. Jenae Carlson: I’ve been wanting to try the bread here for so long, but everytime I thought of it, it was a Sunday or Monday when they’re closed. Glad I came on a Friday when there was green chile cheddar sourdough— it was absolutely incredible. The perfect amount of sour and cheese flavor. It was still warm from the oven when they packed it for me!The staff were really nice and there were lots of options for sweets, breads, and premade mixes. I love that the menu switches everyday so I can go back to try more. I’m very picky about good bread and this is a must try in the cities!

The staff were eager to assist, yet not impatient with new customers needing time with the menu. Lots of Madonna on the playlist. The cinnamon bun was huge and delightful. Will DeGraw: GIVE ME THIS BREAKFAST SANDWICH OVER & OVER AGAIN.Black Walnut is in a seemingly residential area of the southside of Hennepin [Uptown], but gets packed inside. it's a lovely place to sit down, meet friends, and just hang out. i don' think i would recommend it as a place work out of, but it's got a charm to it.would def go back again & again.
Katie Pope: kouign amann, and almond poppy citrus bread. It gets crowded on the weekends but if you can snag a seat inside or on the patio, the atmosphere is really nice. Walk right over to the lake if you’d rather take your food to go!I even ordered my wedding cake from Black Walnut! The Cassis Vanilla Bavarian makes for a perfect cutting cake and is beautiful and delicious.

Erin: All of the gluten free muffins are AMAZING! I don’t even realize they are gluten free. Try the lemon poppyseed! My local coffee shop, Bluenose coffee in Farmington serves their products and I’m in love.
