They truly made our event memorable with how they served us. Appetizers came out fresh, tasty and nonstop. Our main course was served simultaneously to all table members which was really neat!!! No other place came even close to what we wanted and what we recieved. The venue comes with wedding planners, beautiful river scenery, beautiful reception hall, chairs, tables, beautiful outside deck, decorations everywhere, love signs, swings, large water fountain, and so much more. We loved this place and there is nothing we regret. Absolutely recommended to everyone. Lindsey Stokes: are truly immaculate, and the inside is spacious and a perfect canvas for as much or as little decor as you choose for your wedding day. On top of the beautiful venue, Leopold’s staff was unmatched in their professionalism, communication, kindness, and organization day of. Even after Erin’s unexpected departure, Jamie and Mataya picked up where she left off. They were so wonderful to work with and were the perfect hype women the entire morning of our wedding! We decided to go with a third party day-of coordinator, and while it made me feel good having so many people to rely on for logistics the day of, I think most people would be fine without one because Leopold’s was so on top of everything. We were worried initially about only having one option for catering, and were not excited about doing plated dinners but the staff at Mintahoe worked with us and came up with a pasta buffet which was AMAZING. Jenna Scattarelli: We just recently got married at Van Dusen Mansion and had the absolute best wedding in the world! The venue is stunning with so much character and historic charm that it made us truly feel like it was a one in a million kind of venue. Our wedding was seamless with how it was laid out where the entire day is at one location moving from the mansion, ballroom, courtyard and carriage house. The best part was the team who was there for you every step of the way. When we inquired, we worked with Jenna Zamjahn in the beginning of planning stages, and we connected with her instantly where she felt like an old, trusted friend. Jenna is super knowledgeable, helpful, and just an absolute joy to work with that we knew that this was the place for our big day. Once we decided on the venue, we worked with the wedding coordinator, Monica Sanger and because of her, it was a seamless process. Monica is the best at what she does. She goes above and beyond and made us feel like her top priority, super attentive and always there for us if we needed help. Her strong work ethic, eye-to-detail, compassionate heart are what make her stand out. We are forever grateful for having to work with Jenna and Monica and the whole VDM team for our special day. If it wasn’t for them, none of it was possible. This venue and the people are truly one of a kind and anyone would be lucky to have their wedding here!

You could get lost in all the amazingly-decorated rooms and there are countless backdrops for photos. Every staff member I encountered was extremely kind and I could tell they were working hard to make the day as smooth as possible. Highly recommend!

Emily Ferrazzo: from beginning to end.Luckily, the weather cooperated for our 10/21 wedding so we had the ceremony in the courtyard, allowing for a slow but procession through the grounds as the night progressed.Anything over our guest count would’ve been tight for the ceremony space AND dining hall, so keep that in mind. We chose to add two hours in the morning for $200/hour, very much worth it and the perfect amount of time for a 10-person wedding party

It was important to us to have our wedding in the city. I still can’t believe how affordable FIVE is compared to other venue. Our guests and family loved it! We had 155 people and it was spacious for everyone. We truly could not have had such of a great wedding without Victoria, the venue coordinator. She was responsive and quick to answer all my questions! She went above beyond in every single aspect of the day. Anyone would be so lucky to have her there for their special day!

Bradley George: Bryant lake bowl pride block party, Minneapolis Pride on the Friday during pride week is a must. Crowd is alternate, fun, and there to have a good time! Local bands, djs and drag performers that are lined up to perform are local top talent. One of Minneapolis pride weekend best kept secret.
Demetra Williamson: The space has a main and second floor. There were big windows that let a lot of natural light it which was nice. They had family style restrooms upstairs and a men and womens on the main floor. There was a bar/sink area in the middle of the front of the upstairs area which could be great, unfortunately for the event I went to the middle bar made it a bit difficult for people on the other side of the room to seem what was going on. Overall great and I loved the giant mirror they had on the stair case landing.

There are ample spaces for your guests to spread out throughout the day, from the Wine Grotto in the basement to the front porch outdoors to the spacious ballroom upstairs. I was having so much fun upstairs that I actually forgot to even visit the Wine Grotto!Beyond the venue itself, the incredible coordinator, Katherine Bailey, makes the entire process so smooth and enjoyable. Katherine is the best! She is incredibly helpful and responsive, and I am so grateful to have had her on my team.I will always remember this place so fondly. Do yourself a favor and book Semple Mansion for your wedding! 10/10 recommend.

It can be difficult to find a mansion venue that doesn't feel broken up into rooms that split up the guests, but Semple Mansion has the perfect layouts & flow for both ceremony and reception needs. It's easy to spend the entire day there and not feel like you need a change of scene. It was also super convenient to utilize the high-quality vendors that are already based within Semple Mansion. Guest parking is no problem, the ballroom is stunning, and we also loved that we could utilize the grand piano for live music during our ceremony. We couldn't dream of a better wedding venue.

Celisia Stanton: I am the owner of Celisia Stanton Photography, and one of my clients held their intimate wedding at The Neu Neu. The Neu Neu is a fantastic venue!! The getting-ready rooms have huge windows with tons of natural light, allowing us to capture indoor photos without struggling with awkward shadows or uneven lighting. The ceremony and reception took place in the same room, and the exposed brick and wood detailing provided the perfect backdrop for a moody, intimate celebration. My clients also made full use of The Neu Neu's outside space by setting up a badminton court, hiring the Style Society to provide an outdoor lounge area, and providing a Revere food truck for their guests to enjoy. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are beautiful, and I'd highly recommend The Neu Neu to anyone looking for a great venue in the heart of Minneapolis.

Amy Lowry: It's a beautiful venue. They lay out is eclectic and interesting. I did not get to stay very long at the event so did not get a feel for the transition from wedding to reception. There is a coffee shop attached which is amazing to me!

The space is absolutely gorgeous and they were so accommodating to our plans and set up. Our bartender for the night, Jessica, was wonderful and personable! Ty Ebert: Like most people sharing here, I was at the venue for a wedding. I moved out of downtown before this opened a while back and had only been downstairs for the pizza and music. The event spaces was well put together and appropriately sized for a 100 to 125 person wedding. There was room to get away from the dancing and chill on the balcony facing US Bank Stadium. As it happens, there was live music in the restaurant patio itself and we got to enjoy that too!The food was good and the staff seemed very responsive to moving tables around when it came time to dance and cleaning up the occasional spilled drink.

Laura Guzman: We used Day Block for our ceremony, reception, and used their bar services. We picked them primarily because they had an open catering and bar policy and the space is really naturally beautiful. Brittany was our main point of contact and she was responsive to our questions and helped us figure out different options to help the day go smoothly. We ended up renting their first floor auxiliary taproom to move people downstairs during dinner for a cocktail hour and it worked great! It was also really nice that they had tables and chairs we could use for free. The space is beautiful and much more affordable than similar spaces in Minneapolis. We did hire a day-of coordinator to help manage a lot of the details of the day and would recommend others do the same. Also, we were so glad we used their bar services! The selection was great and well priced and the bar tenders managed our rowdy crowd well!

Ashli Theis: Day Block provides a very “hands off” experience, which is what we were looking for. We were able to bring in our own caterer and bar and that saved us a lot of money. It is a stunning space and they allow you to make it your own. We were sold on all of its natural elements: brick walls, hardwood floors and natural lighting. We had about 125 guests and we all fit pretty comfortably. Their event manager Brittany was really lovely to work with – she was kind and quick to respond to all of our questions. Ethan, the person we worked with on the day of, was very helpful with all of our needs.

S Kruger: Attended a wedding here and it was a nice place. The decor surprisingly light and sparkly, they really went heavy with the reflective surfaces. The bar was well stocked, and run. The food, which was Italian, was good and plentiful. The ceremony and reception took place in the same room and the set-up of the reception didn't take too long. My only criticisms would be the chairs were very uncomfortable by the end of the wedding and the decorative drapes were so dirty they were gray. They need to be taken down and washed. Seriously, take the time.

We had an unexpected issue with one of our vendors as the reception began; Ryan, Tina and their staff jumped right in to help us problem solve a solution, which we could not have been more grateful for. The space is a perfect size for all types of events, and Ryan's prior stage management experience is invaluable in helping to create the perfect internal atmosphere for whatever the space is being used for. We cannot recommend North Garden Theatre enough, and wish we could give more than a 5 star rating!

Ja'Mon Kimbrough: We were having issues finding a wedding and reception venue and looked at North Garden Theater on a whim. Ryan & Tina were gems to work with! There were a few miscommunication spots but that wasn’t entirely on them, and they were fixed fairly quickly. Our guests had a wonderful time and loved the custom marquee we were able to put up with the help of Ryan & Tina. Over all, we would definitely use them again for another event. Really enjoyable over all!!!

Jill: We were really struggling with venue options for our wedding reception until we found North Garden Theater. Ryan and Tina are so easy to get along with, and were very responsive when we had questions. They let us bring in our own catering options and music while making the process very easy. Plus, we got to customize the marquee, which was a lot of fun. Our guests were raving about the venue the entire night. This is the perfect place for a low-key wedding.
Annie Elliott: North Garden Theater was such a fantastic venue to host my partners 30th birthday. Ryan and Tina were so helpful with preparation and planning the event. I’m a complete rookie when it comes to party throwing, but Ryan and Tina joined in when we started with set up to make sure everything was looking good when the doors opened. They were also great at communication prior to the event and were helpful in troubleshooting any obstacles that we faced regarding planning. The venue itself is lovely and we had compliments from almost all the guests as to how cool of a space it was. I would recommend North Garden Theater without hesitation to anyone looking to host a birthday, wedding, graduation or any other party in a unique space that’s still in the heart of the Twin Cities.

All the venders recommended did a fantastic job as well as the event coordinator. It truly was magical. My only concern was the parking but most people used Uber or prearranged rides and we had no issues. It was fabulous.

When we first went to the venue for a tour, Janet was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and did a great job of helping us envision our wedding in the space. We decided to book the venue immediately after our tour, and we are so glad we did! It has the bright, clean vibe that we were looking for, and was more affordable than comparable venues in the area. It’s also really customizable to make your dream wedding vision come to life!Working with Kaira on the details for our wedding was also great! She was very helpful and responsive. I came to the walkthrough that we did about a month before the wedding with a ton of questions, and she answered them all before I could even ask! It was such a smooth, easy process on our end. We also loved that security was included, so we didn’t have to worry about anything!The venue is so beautiful for a winter wedding, very cozy but still spacious. We took a lot of photos outside, and it looked so beautiful with a little bit of snow on the ground! We also loved the mural on the side of the building for photos.We had our ceremony and reception in the ballroom, and the room flip during cocktail hour was totally seamless. We had a bar on the main floor and on the second floor during our cocktail hour, which was so nice to have more space for our guests and shorter lines for them to get drinks.We got so many comments from our guests on what a beautiful venue it was, and we were very happy with our choice to get married at The Blaisdell! Thank you Kaira, Janet, and Blaisdell staff for everything!!
Katie Griffith: We had our wedding at The Blaisdell and it was perfect! We had a headcount of around 140 and it was the perfect space for us. It allows for you to have the entire day in one space which is so convenient. There is a parking lot across the street for guests to utilize, in addition to street parking. We even had a live band, and there was plenty of space for that. The staff at The Blaisdell were so great and we truly enjoyed everything about the space. The space has a lot of charm on the inside, while allowing you to add your own decor and style to the space. The bridal suite was perfect too, and the wedding party really appreciated having that as a place to relax and spend the day. Would highly recommend this space! It is a hidden gem and so beautiful.

When she told us we could also hire Kaira as a day of coordinator - we knew immediately it was the right way to go. Kaira was instrumental in helping our day be as amazing as it was. If you book this venue, I HIGHLY recommend hiring Kaira as well - it was the best decision we made.
Terri St. Arnauld: For me, it was an excellent experience. Those with mobility issues might find it a little challenging if the main room needs to be emptied and re-arranged. I believe that entrance is in the back and I didn't see seating in the front area where we all waited.

The venue was perfect for our wedding and the front courtyard was amazing for our cocktail hour. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 stars is because the day-of venue coordinator was not helpful. Ryan Jueneman: A'bulae was an incredible venue to host our wedding at. The venue is is designed very thoughtfully and has a great space for not only the ceremony and reception, but has perfect bridal / grooms suites to get ready in and convenient parking for guests. Both the rooftop and ball room make for great spaces. (One of the main reasons we chose A'bulae was the staff and that we liked both the indoor and outdoor spaces in the event of bad weather.The staff was also exactly what we needed. From setting up our first tour, to the day of the wedding - all of the venue staff were all incredibly easy to work with. They communicated quickly, helped us make decisions, and took care of so many small details when our attention was elsewhere.

My clients held their ceremony on the rooftop, which was perfect for an outdoor summer wedding vibe with a distinct city feel. The reception room inside also has the most perfect floor-to-ceiling windows, which let in tons of natural light, allowing us to capture indoor photos without struggling with awkward shadows or uneven lighting that are often present in other indoor reception venues. I highly recommend A'Bulae to any couple looking for the perfect indoor-outdoor wedding venue in the heart of St Paul!

Bryan Forrester: The venue is beautiful and the staff was very efficient. However, the acoustics in the main room are terrible. It needs sound absorption treatment. There is so much reverberation that you can't understand anything being said over the sound system which is especially unfortunate at a wedding.

Charisse Tyler: Thanksgiving Day! I had the place to myself. The garden gates were open. The fountains were on low in anticipation of the winter freeze. It snowed soon after. The ice is forming. The garden involves a walk as well as a walk from the prairie area parking lots.

Markeda D.: Attended the valentines night craft fair here for a date night and it was such a lovely experience. Coat check in the front, speciality cocktails available. On the first floor there were various vendors selling wood decor, jewelry, body and skin care, candles and even pastries. On the second floor even more vendors along with a tarot reader. The space wasn’t too packed so we weren’t bumping into other people. Elevators and stairs easily marked and accessible. The only downside is this building is located downtown there was a parking lot next to the building but it was small and filled up. Street parking is available to pay but it’s free after 6pm but it fill up quickly so you may have to walk about a block like we did.
Madeline Bergum: Our day was a DREAM at Machine Shop! We could not have asked for more caring and attentive staff. They accommodated several special requests and worked hard to help me realize my vision. Working with Lauren was awesome - it felt like I was working with a friend and she went above and beyond to make sure our day was special. Our day went off without a hitch thanks to the staff, security, and bartenders. We could not recommend Machine Shop enough for your wedding or event!

Denae Brennan: As a Minneapolis wedding planner, I have had the pleasure of working at the Machine Shop several times. It's one of my favorite venues! There are the obvious elements like the unique, historic atmosphere and open floor plan, which perfectly welcomes any design you could imagine. But more so, I love working there because of the staff! The management, sales staff, event coordinators and bar team are all fantastic to work with from the first tour through the end of the event. They are friendly, professional and accommodating, always making my job as a planner easier. I would highly recommend considering the Machine Shop for your wedding or special event!
Mickey Mikeworth: What a great venue, and perfect for a conference unfortunate only holds about 350 people so it’s good for a medium size conference! Wonderful photography spot, if you have a wedding there a private rooms to be able to get ready in. Plenty of bathrooms and it has an upper level.

Flacko Bop: This is an amazing venue on the U of M campus that's open to the public and offer plenty of space for personal or private events not to mention D'Amico restaurant is also in the same building.

K. Hannon: The McNamara Alumni Center is a great facility for a conference. The staff was amazingly welcoming, helpful, and friendly. The technology in the presentation rooms worked effectively, and guests had good mobile phone reception. The facility was clean and in fabulous condition.
