Donated our Jeep which we'd had for 11 years, still in good shape but starting to need some work - the donation was handled with much appreciation, quick paperwork during the donation and for the IRS paperwork, clean facility, very friendly staff - but the non profit, fully self sustaining operation was what sold us; not only training mechanics but then also assisting working women, excellent causes times two! and the Jeep lives on to boot - highly recommend.

Sofia Bisbocci: I don’t usually leave reviews for businesses or products, but Nelson’s has been a great place for my vehicle maintenance and servicing. I have a Fiat with European features and parts that aren’t easy for mechanics to navigate. I started going to Nelson’s after they were recommended to me by a friend. This friend, who also had a Fiat, had struggled similarly with finding an auto body shop that was able to perform maintenance/correct damages and didn’t overcharge simply on the premise of the make and model of my vehicle. I routinely visit Nelson’s for oil changes and I also trust them with my car when the dashboard is moody and I need something looked at. There have been several instances when Nelson’s has gone beyond being a 9-5 auto shop and has quite literally come to my rescue, even after hours. My thesis statement is that if you need a place that charges reasonably and does the job and more, this place is absolutely worth your time and dollar. They do honest work and are very easy to schedule with.

We provide free inspections (by appointment only!) focused on the safety and drivability issues with the car. After the inspection, we will write an estimate for the low-cost car repairs that we can offer.
Our mobile van does pre-inspections for broken down vehicles within the Twin Cities metro area. Our goal is to help inform the customer if the car is worth towing to the shop for the full inspection – if we can’t help fix the car, we don’t want the customer to pay for the towing!
Searching for a used car isn’t easy – so we offer free pre-purchase inspections. We will alert the customer of any repairs that are needed so they can make the best possible purchase.
Customers at The Lift pay $15/hour for labor and parts are sold at cost. Repairs at The Lift typically cost about half of what they would cost at a for-market shop.

Brought it back in on Monday after work and left it the next day Tuesday…we will let you know if it gets fixed. Said it’s the transmission and would cost $500 or more dollars to repair. Getting a second opinion. We will be back for routine maintenance though.
Quincy Newell: On a road trip from upstate NY to the Midwest, our car suddenly started idling at twice its normal rate. We knew we would arrive in Minneapolis over Memorial Day weekend, so on a friend’s recommendation we called ahead to T&T Auto Repair on the Friday before Memorial Day. I spoke with Jordan, who was friendly and professional, and assured me that they could take a look at the car first thing Tuesday morning, even though they would be really busy that day. True to his word, our car was the first thing they looked at—and right away, they discovered the problem: our cruise control was getting stuck under the throttle, holding the throttle open even when the cruise control was off. Jordan showed me what was happening and how to fix it, and didn’t charge me a dime. If we lived in Minnesota, T&T Auto Repair would be our regular mechanic!

While I didn't have anything major done to my car so I cannot speak to repair work, this shop has by far the best customer communication of any mechanic I've been to in 3 states. Anvis Aryavong: Everything was easy at Turbo Tim’s. I dropped off my vehicle. They ordered transportation for me to get to work. They provided updates via text with links to approve or deny the work they recommend. The work that was approved was done in a timely manner. One of the things I had them do was my water pump. About a month later, there was some coolant leaking. I brought it in and they tightened everything up and topped everything off free of charge. Excellent work. And on top of that, every one on their staff is amazing! Great customer service to match their work!

The insurance company recommended this shop to me as they work with them and it was close to where I live. So I decided to go ahead and go with them.I was blown away with how fast they were able to get my car repaired. I brought it in on a Tuesday morning and picked it up by Wednesday afternoon. During the entire process I was informed exactly what they were doing with my car. When they ordered the parts, when they installed the parts, when they were ready to paint it, all the way down to when the car was ready to be picked up. Communication was awesome.As for the work I couldn't be happier. It looks awesome. Completely fixed, paint job is great, looks like the damage never happened in the first place!Here is the best part. They cleaned the inside of my car for me without me asking/requesting. It's not like a full detailing or anything but they wiped off all my surfaces and cleaned out my floor mats. That is way more than I could ever ask for and really appreciate that extra service they provided for me.Whether you need somewhere to work on body work or your insurance is telling you to use them. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

She has been with Floyd's 5-6 years.I have never been fond of diagnostic fees, but understand the necessity for ordering parts, scheduling shop time and giving customers approximate estimates that realistically can not predict " things" that happen or are found later. Occasionaly, she will run things by me before approving a repair and generally I give her the go ahead.That said, we have been happy overall with your services. Costs are lower in a small town, but everything in the cities is higher. Having to pay a higher hourly wage for qualified staff and keeping the lights is a majorbusiness expense.A lot of stuff I can a do a lot cheaper but not in 20° weather without a lift and it would require her car to be here, so convenience, safety and proximity come into play.- Thanks, Dad and Natalie C.

Christopher Durga: When it comes to cars I have found the right place.My mechanic retired so I went to this place by my house. They did some work on my car and recently I heard a knocking by the suspension. I bring it in for them to check it. They said everything was good. Nothings wrong, I even paid them to check for the issue . That was a big red flag for me. They told me my inner tie rods needed to be done so it will be about 4,300. I spoke with Phong at Imola he told me to bring it in they will see what I need. It was a loose bolt they didn’t fix at other place not to get into too much detail, know what Business you’re running and be honest with people and they will come back so I’m coming back to Imola because they didn’t try take my money and ordered filet mignon and watch me eat Ramen noodles soup. My bill was only $284 thank you Imola.

They go above and beyond to help you out.First, they did my brakes on both my cars, which was at a totally reasonable price and jobs well done!Two months later, my wife calls me from the parking garage of MOA stating the van died. I call up these guys. They give me the name of a towing company who helps us get out of the parking garage and then tows it to their shop for a very reasonable price. They diagnose the issue and have it fixed same day. They replaced my alternator and serpentine belt for a completely reasonable price.I can’t say enough good things about these guys. When you find a good business, take the time to heap praise their way, and this is a GREAT business. Thankful for these guys.

I chose Great Brakes based on the excellent customer reviews. All the well deserved 5 star reviews are correct. Worku Mogus is amazing - friendly customer service, knowledgeable mechanic, fast and efficient work. But above all he is an honest man with an excellent work ethic. His prices are very reasonable too. His estimate was lower than I expected for this kind of job. And in the end, the final bill was slightly less than his own estimate despite the bolts on my wheel hubs being locked up from age and requiring extra work to remove. I highly recommend Great Brakes!

D Kingston: I could not speak more highly about an auto mechanic shop. Mark is excellent and fair and kind. Andrew is fantastic and so incredibly helpful. Stache Gaming: I've been here a couple times, for an oil change and a tire issue. However, recently I had to bring my wife's car in for some pretty significant repairs. My background is not at all mechanical, so I just kinda had to trust that the work was needed and the prices were fair. I was given a very comprehensive list of needed repairs, and it was made available digitally. It was extremely easy to cross reference the repairs and get an opinion from the Reddit think tank. The prices were reasonable and it actually came out significantly cheaper than I had expected. This is the only place I'll bring my vehicles in for repairs, I recommend you do the same.

He works on my 20 year old honda and has helped her keep running!!! also great cost of labor and cost of parts overall my favorite shop — especially as a woman, feel like i’m not taken advantage of by any means.

The system of sending photos and descriptions of the issues has made me much more aware of my own car and kept me informed!
