Linda is so great. I had to have a few dress appointments due to my dress and the complicated train - she went above and beyond every single time to make sure the dress fit perfectly and made sure I was 100% satisfied. She was also so pleasant to be around every time I was at her shop. When looking for someone to do my wedding dress alterations, I was nervous just because I wanted it to be perfect and it’s a lot to trust someone with — she delivered and really seemed to care as much as I did about it looking and fitting perfectly. Joette Designs also has quality work for a reasonable price - especially considering how much a lot of wedding alterations cost. Couldn’t recommend enough!
Joette is hands down amazing and a true miracle worker. I have worked with her on 2 dresses - an engagement party/graduation dress and my wedding dress. She is extremely knowledgeable about her craft and both times gave great recommendations and found tweaks to optimize the fit that I hadn't even noticed, which were much appreciated since I know very little about alterations. She was willing to talk with me about my ideas and preferences, and work with me and my timeline to make sure everything came out perfect and on time. Can't say enough how much I appreciate the work she did on my wedding dress - I was coming in from out of state and was not available for multiple fittings, but I called ahead and once Joette accepted the job, she worked with my time and logistical constraints like a wizard! 3 weeks after seeing my dress for the first time, she delivered on a perfectly fitted and pressed dress ready for the big day. Laura Christopher: Needed hemming on a sequined dress for Prom and saw that Christine’s had all 5 star reviews, so we gave her a call and luckily she had an opening for one more dress! Us! She was so kind and took time to help us get the dress sitting just perfectly with all the straps and completed the hem sooner than expected. It is absolutely PERFECT and we couldn’t be happier! My wedding dress didn't quite fit the way I wanted it to after the first round of alterations, and she insisted I come back a second and even a third time to make sure it was absolutely perfect. During one of my appointments, she even had me try it on, took it in right while I was there, and had me put it on again. She is kind, caring, and beyond knowledgeable. Wedding alterations aren't cheap but I found her to be reasonable especially for the amount of work she did on my dress. Thank you, Christine!!!

My dress was way too big in the bust, but Christine worked her magic and brought in the dress so it fit perfectly on my wedding day. She did a great job making sure the hem length was perfect to walk in with my shoes, and that the shoulder strap length was comfortable. I had no idea what kind of bustle I wanted so she showed me all of the options. There was a last minute alteration I noticed 1 week before I was leaving for my wedding and I called her in a panic, she was able to squeeze me in and fixed the issue while I sat and waited. I appreciated her kindness and would work with her again in a heartbeat! Alli Prokop: .I came to her with an idea and she took it from there - from sourcing fabric to creating a custom shape fitted to my body and tweaking every last detail. Her attention to detail and knowledge of tailoring was apparent in the final product. Not to mention, Deborah is polite, professional, and thoughtful to work with. Her pricing is reasonable as well.

I was referred by my wedding planner, I was looking for a black wedding dress which is extremely hard to come by especially in plus size.I made a consult about a year and a half out from my wedding. When I came back for the drawings after the first consult I was amazed at the not one but three options she had for me! They all were amazing and I finally picked one that really fit what I was looking for. Every appointment was amazing, all the steps were super easy for me as well as scheduling. When I came in for my final fitting, about four days before my wedding, the hem in the front was a bit long and Deborah stayed up all night to fix the hem and was ready for me to try on and take home the next day!I absolutely loved my final look, it was everything and more I had hoped for. I cannot recommend this shop enough! Not only was the customer service great, the price was amazing and right around the budget I wanted. Jordan Brunsberg: Wow. There are really no words to express how thankful I am for Deborah’s work. I had found the “dress if my dreams” earlier in life and unfortunately, the wedding was called off. When I got engaged again, I wanted to go another route to try and capture that special feeling in a different way. Deborah helped me craft a dreamy dress out of my mother’s and grandmother’s gowns. This dress blew any dress I could have found at a store out of the water. It took a lot of structural work and she executed flawlessly. Anna Glodowski: Then came the fun! She began to build each piece of my wedding skirts, my top, and my dupatta. Each new visit another part began to come together with the overall vision and by the end I was in tears – tears of joy, of course!What Deborah had created was better than anything I had brought along for inspiration on my very first appointment. She used them as a guide, but she put my spin on it. She had successfully managed to get inside my head and see what I saw through my eyes. I honestly don’t know how she did it, but she did and for that I have no words other than THANK YOU!She also created a beautiful alteration for my mom’s dress. My mom and I had found a dress at Macy’s, but it was in the juniors section. It was a long spaghetti strap and was something a 16 or 17 year old might wear to homecoming or prom. However my mom is in her early 70s and the look was too young and too long. So I brought my mom to see Deborah and the two of them talked about how she wanted it shortened to between her ankle and knee and she wanted a sleeve, something that would flatter her arms, but would also keep her cool during the August wedding. Deborah took that idea and put together a design that not only went above and beyond my mom’s expectations by nailing all of her requests, so the look was right and flattering, but also made my mom FEEL beautiful!My mom is plus-sized, so she is very self-conscious about her mid-sections, arms, and her legs. Deborah helped my mom see herself like I see her. I see my mom’s mid-section as the place where she carried me and my siblings to term – healthy and happy. I see her arms as the first place I want to run to when something good or bad happens. I see her legs as the anchors to our family – they never wavered in any storm. Again, there are no words, but THANK YOU!If you have the chance for Deborah to make your dress or alter it – hands down she is the best in Minneapolis! She doesn’t just make a recreation of a dress

Tori & Jared Sandlotz: Not only did Chelsea go above and beyond for my wedding dress sleeves + "wings" vision, but she also built from scratch my mom's custom suit. With my desire for a splash of color in my sleeves which I had removed and built paired with my moms desire for an outfit unlike the assumed gender norm for a woman's outfit, we came to Chelsea with an unusual and potentially heavy lift project.My mom would drive over from Wisconsin and I down from the north to Minneapolis to make numerous day excursions together. This added to the special build up to the wedding day. In the end, there is NO ONE else I would have wanted to work with. Folks mentioned they've never seen a dress like mine and were stunned by the sleeves. My favorite part were the wings. A lovely alternative to a veil.Chelsea has the ability to uplevel your outfit, while setting yours apart from anything out there. I will be getting my dress preserved with the sleeves on main display. As for my mom, she has a custom suit she actually feels comfortable in for the rest of her life.We are so pleased and will have these memories forever. Sounds cheesy, but this time and creation all together was something I will cherish for as long as I will remember

Well, I took a chance on Stitch in Time Alterations and am thrilled with the results!I had an old flannel sleeping bag with shredded lining which was irreplaceable because sleeping bags like that aren't made anymore. The seamstress did an incredible job. She took out the old lining and stitched so that the lining was smooth across the entire sleeping bag. I am so grateful for the care she took in repairing what was in such bad shape that everyone except me thought I should just go buy another sleeping bag. Now I have many more years of using this sleeping bag to keep me warm especially in spring and fall! Thank you so much for your diligence!

Franny: Amy is the best! She is so incredibly talented and patient. She also was very innovative, I initially wanted sleeves added to my dress, and we spent an hour or more going back & fourth deciding if sleeves would look the best and I am so happy we decided not to! Not only did we not do sleeves but she was able to make my little drape sleeve removable! Which made it so functional and fun for dancing later in the evening. Couldn't recommend Amy more!
Kayla Torgerson: Amy is so talented and patient! My dress was only offered in a single size and I’m pear shaped so the hips needed to be taken in a little, but the top has to be taken in A LOT. I was worried it couldn’t be done and Amy made it seem easy.My dress also had a massive train that required 10+ points to bustle - she helped me find the best way way to bustle that would hold up so much fabric.
