Vegan East: what do users think?

Jackie: Delicious chocolate chip scone and super tasty sandwiches ! Beautifully decorated cupcakes available in the freezer case, perfect for a grab and go

A. R.: I'm not vegan yet this place makes the best broccoli cheddar soup I've ever had in my life. The young woman who works here is super nice. There's a cute patio in the back. I wish they were open more days of the week!

Mas McMacken: Dietary restrictions: Ordered a vegan chocolate peanut butter cake. It was fantastic!

Sonya Kith: We got gluten-free cupcakes for our son’s 5th birthday who has lots of food allergies. Vegan East came through with delicious cupcakes! Thank you!

Mitchell Wallerstedt: Always delicious. Always delightful.

Casey S: Excellent spot, the staff is amazing as well!

Han Kim: So happy to have another place in NE that does vegan and has GF options. The desserts are amazing and sloppy joes with a cup of soup make my day. Now that it's warm the back patio is open and always playing good music.

Kailee Carlson: . I was recommended to try the chocolate peanut butter bar and man oh man if you like peanut butter and chocolate then you absolutely have to try this. I’m not vegan but it was so good. Definitely want to come back for some iced coffee and one of the sandwiches or soups and other treats!

Nick Yaun: Great tasting muffins

Nikki T.: Stopped in for some treats on my daughter's birthday. They were delicious and the person working threw in a pumpkin loaf for her. Super nice! My daughter said she thought the guy seemed really nice even before he gave her the extra treat. Great service and excellent baked goods!

Brandon Ratcliff: Delicious sloppy joe!

French Meadow Cafe & Bluestem Bar: what do users think?

Noel Stroner: This brunch spot is adorable and has excellent food and drinks. The service wasn’t great - no one explained to us the self serve area vs full service area when we walked in, just stared at us. Another group walked in behind us and the staff then proceeded to explain everything quite kindly to them. The staff member that took our order at the counter acted quite annoyed and barely spoke to us.

Kellie Hoffman: .The atmosphere was really cool!

A Google User: The cinnamon buns are out of the world Jamison the bartender hook me up I love this place I just hate because they only have it on the weekends

Drake Friesen: Awesome bakery!

Kassira A: Getting 5 stars for the cherry pie alone. Not overly sweet or gelatinous or goopy. Perfect crust. Only other thing I had was the raised glaze donut, which I didn’t love but was still pretty good. But the pie. *chef’s kiss*

Wuryati Morris: Ordered several pies for an office event and they were great! Very reasonably priced. I'll be back.

Marissa Sweet: and also Pacski in several different flavors! On a normal visit, the banana flips are to die for!! It's definitely worth the visit.

Michael Fogarty III: Fantastic Packages!

Thirsty Whale Bakery: what do users think?

Alex Trembley: I’m not sure what to say about TWB that hasn’t been said in the hundreds of positive reviews before me. If you purchase a cake here, prepare to be blown away by the love and detail added to it. The staff is incredible and they will 100% work with you to support your budget and still produce something amazing. This is a small business worth supporting even in difficult financial times.Parking: Street parking is available and it’s usually pretty chillKid-friendliness: The cakes they produce are meant for everyone, including kids!

Leslie Lorentzen: Thirsty Whale was who we went with for our wedding cake. The tasting box was phenomenal. Only wish is that we could have met with someone about the design of our cake - we did send them photos for inspiration and it turned out really well! We only had a bite of the cake ourselves as we were busy running around, but I heard from others that the flavor and texture were great! A good experience and we loved working with Thirsty Whale!

amy siegel: I was lucky enough to have two cakes from thirsty whale and they executed the vision PERFECTLY on both and were so good about checking in with me and made the payment process super easy! The sponge was delicious and the fudge in the center was incredible! Cant wait to order many more goodies from them in the future and also try their peanut butter buddy cookies!!!

Concert Minneapolis: Always great. As of 2-20-24 i would confirm if they are open. Last i know os they are going thru a transition.Parking: If you can't find a spot on the street, Drive around to the back and they have a big area to park.

Andrew Voight: Probably the best donuts that we have had in the twin cities, hands down. My wife and I were looking for a new shop to try that we’d never been to before, and we saw this place had some pretty good reviews, and they are 100% deserved. The gentleman behind the counter that helped us was genuinely excited to have us in their shop, and about their products. He walked us through every donut they had, and gave us his recommendations. There was also a donut that they were “testing out” that had a pineapple filling that was extraordinary. It was topped with a mango icing and white chocolate flakes. Keep working on that, because that pineapple filling needs to be featured in a donut for sure. I’ll be back on a monthly cadence for the maple bacon donut, because the filling inside of that thing just might possibly be the key to world peace. Great bakery.

Nope Nadda: I had heard about these guys for months at least 6 months. So then I finally was going to swing by and they were closed permanently!! And I don't know how I found out that someone saved the day but as soon as I could I went in there to try them out finally... Turns out I AM a donut guy. I was just waiting for someone to make a key lime pie donut and they did it so diabetes here I come!

Will DeGraw: GIVE ME THIS BREAKFAST SANDWICH OVER & OVER AGAIN.Black Walnut is in a seemingly residential area of the southside of Hennepin [Uptown], but gets packed inside. it's a lovely place to sit down, meet friends, and just hang out. i don' think i would recommend it as a place work out of, but it's got a charm to it.would def go back again & again.

Katie Pope: kouign amann, and almond poppy citrus bread. It gets crowded on the weekends but if you can snag a seat inside or on the patio, the atmosphere is really nice. Walk right over to the lake if you’d rather take your food to go!I even ordered my wedding cake from Black Walnut! The Cassis Vanilla Bavarian makes for a perfect cutting cake and is beautiful and delicious.

Tom P: We had reservations and were seated promptly. I had a side of bacon with the Zone Omelette and substituted GF toast and it was scrumptious. Our party of 8 all enjoyed their choices. Waitress tried her best but she got very busy with other diners after taking our order. Overall, the staff was top notch!Dietary restrictions: Plenty of GF options to select from as well as dishes that could be made GF by changing the bread choice. Very GF dessert menu.Wheelchair accessibility: A wheel chair would fit, but will need assistance getting in the front entrance. The dining area would be difficult to navigate. It's an old building built before accessibility was common place so there's only so much the restaurant can do.

Paige: Parking: I usually park a couple blocks away in the neighborhood to the West; hit or miss parking situation depending on busy times.

Sean Lawrence: What a powerhouse of a bakery/cafe experience. Simple, streamlined menu with only solid hits. The staff were eager to assist, yet not impatient with new customers needing time with the menu. Lots of Madonna on the playlist. The cinnamon bun was huge and delightful. I love the hint of yeast in the bready portion contrasting with the tasteful amount of sweet and spice. The coffee cake deserves some love too, with its fruit and walnut crumble topping

Chris Goggin: The smells of caramel and cinnamon were wafting out the door, into the line as we waited … mouthwatering delicious awaited! We enjoyed our visit - had the walnut, cinnamon buns, and orange/raspberry scone. Plus a coffee. All were very good and a nice start to Sunday.

Joel Abrahamson: A cozy place to gather with friends! Love the coffee and baked goods. The eclairs are famous. Try the Clint-style breakfast sandwich with avocado, garlic mayo, and sprouts on a fresh biscuit — my favorite! Recently recognized as best sandwich of SW Minneapolis. Lunch brings more delicious sandwich and salad options: turkey burgers, beet burgers, pesto are often my go-to.Butter is also notable for their ecological ethic: minimizing waste through organics recycling and new ideas like reusable takeout containers.Evenings often have performances and discussions, or maybe a pop-up from the Curry Diva. Alex Bowes: Waiting outside in the cold was worth it for the baked goods from Savory. The cinnamon rolls are amazing!

Deborah Bauman: Best bakery in south MinneapolisRecommended dishes Savory Brioche Sandwich …

Haruko Ruggiero: I have no reason to go anywhere else. They have cracked the code for texture, flavor, quality of ingredients, sweetness and saltiness. Their menu curation is always compelling. So glad to have this treasure of a bakery in the community!

Sarah Mendoza-Shelton: I am very picky about my baked goods, and I have now found my favorite bakery in the twin cities! Cinnamon roll texture was just right, fluffy yet substantial, and the sweetness was perfect. I usually scrape off most of the frosting on cinnamon rolls because it's too sweet. Not the case with these babies! Savory scone was flavorful and texture was perfect, light and slightly crummy without being dried out. Pumpkin scone was delicious. Polish roll was a pleasant surprise with perfectly spiced peppery filling. Nom nom nom!

Kristina Y: Very lovely cafe, I had the tempeh sandwich and garlic fries. Absolutely delicious. Would def recommend coming here to study or work.

Aly McCollow: Vegetarian options: They have a few vegetarian options & a great breakfast burrito with tofu 'eggs'.

Lynx Cheam: Good times were had. Service was great. As part of my first time out to MN, I would say this place is easily worth the visit. When done with meal, you bus yourself. Keep that in mind, they don't spoil you here with service of that level, but instead exchange it for delicious food and tasty coffee.Pictured: Shakshuka, Small Hot Mocha, Large Hot Salted Caramel

Denny Stallman: Excellent coffeeFresh baked goodsVery pleasant staff

Kelsey Doyle: Krista the barista was incredibly helpful and made a delicious latte! Great spot for a casual brunch.

Sage Tones Family Photography: Very serene experience, the outdoor patio is perfect during the fall. The food options are many and everything we ordered was great!I’d just be wary when siting outside, we ordered pancakes and we couldn’t finish them because we were “literally attacked by bees!Other than that, I’d go back again for sure.

Ashley Siebels: This is my favorite place. I come here every time I visit Minneapolis. They have a beautiful garden and outdoor seating. The coffee is superb and everything on the menu is great.

Dana Borontis: . Definitely recommend it!

Rebecca Sorensen: Great vibes, very calm and kind staff, delicious food. I'll be back very soon!!!

Stef Masterman: I had the lavender latte and plum scone, both were great! Friendly staff, and I love that they use lots of local, clean ingredients! Will definitely be back!

Shannon Mahedy: Wow! I went to Common Roots cafe for brunch today, and I was blown away by the fish tacos. They were, without a doubt, the best fish tacos I’ve ever had! They were light, delicately-balanced, fresh, and flavorful. Each bite was incredible, and I found myself telling my friend how delicious they were over and over while I devoured my tacos. The chips and salsa on the side were excellent too, and the salsa was definitely house-made. My only wish were that there were more tacos on my plate. I’ll be back for more tacos soon! I’m very impressed by this dish!

Ben and Karen: We are so glad we chose Common Roots as our wedding caterer. They were very organized, responsive, and flexible in the pre-event planning. The food was delicious and we received several compliments. We chose Common Roots because they offered a great combination of delicious food, reasonable prices, and commendable values.

Tara Iannarelli: Ordered a vanilla cake with maple frosting for a birthday celebration. The cake was delicious. I loved how perfectly moist the gluten free cake was. I feel like a lot of novice gluten free products are crumbly/dry, and I'm pleased to report that's not the case here. While ordering, I had the opportunity to speak with Lisa -who was super professional and polite during the busy holiday season.I definitely recommend this place!

Tori Westenberg: Nice atmosphere and lovely staff! Nice quiet and quaint cafe with lots of vegan and GF options, very friendly and helpful service/employees! Pretty good Oat Milk Latte! Added some sweetner to it and it was great! Nice music and served in nice ceramic mugs! Not a ton of food options and not good for nut-free food options but perfect for vegan bakery items!Vegetarian options: Vegan!Dietary restrictions: Vegan and GF options!Parking: Can park on the street nearby with meters/paid parking

Matt Paulson: Awesome place to get quick take out.

Kelly Ryberg: I did not realize this place was vegan gluten free when I went in. I ordered a quiche and hot chocolate for dine in and a bagel with cream cheese to go. The hot chocolate with oat milk was good/fine, but the quiche was actually really tasty!! Since I wasn't sure if this place was entirely vegan, I was wondering if the quiche was not made with eggs. I decided that it was vegan based on the texture, but the flavor was great, I really enjoyed it. The bagel was really bad, I couldn't eat it. The fake cream cheese that came with it was actually revolting. I felt the need to get the taste out of my mouth.Great quiche, good atmosphere, great service. I'd go back!

candice clemens: What a great spot with delicious gluten free, vegan eats. Savory and sweet stuff that is simply delicious! Plus good espresso drinks and cold brew. This place is a must for anyone who wants delicious treats and eats.Vegetarian options: Everything is vegan and gluten freeDietary restrictions: Everything is vegan and gluten free

Hard Times Cafe: what do users think?

starramus: I didn't order any food, but I am searching for a sufficient adjective to describe the coffee. "Hypersonic" entails the high energy beverage that I so thoroughly enjoyed. I am still vibrating these many years later. Admission should be charged for admittance to the ubiquitously graffiti decorated rest room. Unfortunately the web site states hours of operation are now from 8:00 AM to Midnight. I found the atmosphere to be an entrancing enigma at 3:00 AM, but obviously the 24 hour operation was another victim of capitalism. Where can I get some of that coffee for home brew?

Shannon Mahedy: , and I realized I forgot to write a review, so here we are…Hard Times has a great vibe. Feels rooted in community and is unpretentious and radical. The food was pretty good, but the quality isn’t on par with Modern Times or Seward Cafe in my opinion. I appreciate the vegetarian/vegan options.

Aki's BreadHaus: what do users think?

Drake Friesen: Amazing German bakery!

Sarah Huntley: Always good, always fresh. My kids attend school in NE so a morning snack makes them happy. My sister in law is German and I tried this place first in Osseo. I’m so happy that they are in NE. Everything is good! Trying the Pretzel with cranberry mustard today, rosemary garlic bread and the ever trustworthy cinnamon stick for the kids.

Julie Dustin: My husband was in Germany for 2 years and loves Brötchen. I saw the bakery had them and I went with my sister yesterday and bought a dozen. I surprised him with a traditional German meal like we had when we visited Germany a couple years ago. I had cheese, meat, broetchen and some German wine on the table when he came home. He was so excited! It brought back so many memories of us pulling up to a picnic area and having our lunch enjoying beautiful Germany! Also I found my German family still living there in the small village my Great Grandfather was born in!

Miku Fan USA: , I have never, ever seen Aki's actually OPEN for business!Obviously, they are open most every day, but "day" being the important word here - Aki's has never been open during the late nights when I frequent Fair State. I remember fondly that when Fair State opened, they built a small pass-through window directly into the Aki's bakery area - allowing for direct sales and delicious smells to waft through the brewery! Ah, those were the days, right? In any case, imagine my surprise when I walked by the Aki's on the way to FS to discover that the bakery is now occasionally open until 7 pm! Immediately, ordered myself a beer at FS, followed by a trip over to Aki's for a pretzel. Wonderful, as always. Served with several options for mustards, the store offers breads and brotchen, too. It's "no frills" inside, and very small in size, but happy to get a pretzel to eat with my Fair State beers! They were just closing when I arrived there, so most of their stock of breads were gone. But someday I'll catch them in the morning!

M H: . I'm a weekly customer...Recommended dishes Berliner Roll, Pretzels, Rolls, Warm Pretzel Stick …

Oliver C: I honestly believe that they have the best breads in MN, and really good soup, however, the cashiers that work there are something else…. Especially the one on Tuesdays. I was putting a loaf of bread in the bag in front of her, because she didn’t do it properly, then suddenly she yelled at me to move out of the way for someone who was behind me who was not there a second ago. Because she was so rude, I told her that I would move when I am done. She then asked me aloud if I paid for the bread in a tone that was accusing me ….of not paying…for ….the thing is she is the one who took the money from me only a few minutes ago….at this point it was rather ridiculous, so I said ‘no, I stole it’ to which she could not say anything….I find her rather entertaining really… I will make sure that I will go back for the good bread and a woman from the cave…..for her rudeness….

MyGoogle Player: Great pastries, both savory and sweet options. Fresh pretzels are awesome and some good rye bread options.Recommended dishes Sourdough Wheat, Berliner Roll, Pretzels, Peach Streusel …

Jessica Giese: This bakery is hands down the best in the Twin Cities. Everything from the bread loafs to the desserts is such high quality. The prices are also unbeatable. Thank you Aki for being such an amazing spot for baked goods!

Reilly Miller: this is a bakery for all the people who went to Germany, experienced the bread culture there, and returned to Minneapolis hoping to find bread that tastes, smells, and feels like what they had in Europe.——————This bakery is really special and so is the family that owns it.Dietary restrictions: Vegan folks can leave satisfied

Sarah Austin: Love the bread, but wish they would have updated Google for holiday hours. They're closed through January 3rd.

Kim Wolfe: Kale Caesar Wrap$13.50There is an entire kale caesar salad inside of this wrap! Kale, capers, maple tempeh bacon, house-made caesar dressing, and lemon, warmed on the grill. It is so delicious that I went back twice in one week. It's the perfect location to stop in and grab a carryout lunch to take to the nearby lakes. It is shareable but don't! You'll want to gobble the entire thing.Update: Website says “temporarily closed. The owner has been charged with sexual assault of a young girl in Canada.Dietary restrictions: Great variety to accommodate most diets.Parking: It's shared parking with a shopping center. Can be quite busy but there is plenty of parking.

lisa jensen: The best chickpea sandwich ever! I can't stop thinking about it. I'm vegan and I was pleased this sandwich was sooooo good.Food: 5/5 …

Planty McPlanterson: I love the Seed Cafe so much! Amazing vegan food that can be shared with any type of eater. Cozy, happy, and if you feel like checking out a hot yoga class, it’s right inside Modo Yoga. Everyone is very friendly and it’s a happy place for me and my tummy.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, plant-based, gluten-free options

Drake Friesen: Fantastic smoothies!

Brittney St. Aubin: My absolute favorite vegan restaurant ever. I have a sensitive stomach, so going out to eat while also being a vegan is difficult. Thank you for all you do! ❤️Vegetarian options: 100% vegan/plant-based

Kiante Brewer: Great coffee! Even greater service!

Nancy Franke Wilson: that is so delicious. They also host pop-up shops by local small biz and vendors.

Isabel Seibert: This is one of the more low-key vegan spots in Minneapolis, but don't overlook it! It comes off as very healthy, which doesn't always pique my appetite, but Seed has never steered me wrong! I absolutely love everything I've had from them! Their kale Caesar wrap has kale and tempeh, two ingredients that I don't always like, but I think about that wrap so often! The ancient grain granola at brunch was a similar story. I'd also recommend the tahini chocolate chip cookie and chai latte. Its location along the Green Way is superb. It's a great stop on a bike ride!Vegetarian options: It's all vegan!Dietary restrictions: They can help with gluten free options, but allergies, etc!Parking: There's plenty of parking in the lot, but my favorite way to get there is by bike via the Green Way!Kid-friendliness: I see kids there often.

Mike Treuer: Loved it. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious, from the display to the taste. I’d definitely come back any time here.Recommended dishes …

blair main: So many delicious vegan options - chickpea salad sandwich is my favorite . plus it’s a very cute place

Brandon Isabell: While it's spendy for the cuisine can't complain on the size of the meal nor the taste. Staff is nice and helpful.

Joshua Lightowler: Chef storia is excellent. She does but just create food, she creates art and happiness in a bowl. The food tastes great and will definitely return for round 2!!!

Reverie Cafe + Bar: what do users think?

iara fraga: My family and I love this restaurant. Their brunch menu is our favorite, but everything is delicious. We love the vibe and the service is always attentive and fast. This is a place where we go for years now and they always have new items in their menu.Kid-friendliness: My kid loves their potato wedges, french toast, and the pastries. Reverie knows exactly what a hungry kid wants!

Jessie Deardorff: I learned today modern dye is made from harnessing the gorgeous prismatic iridescent hues of spent motor oil seen in puddles on the roadways. Refer to my Pigeon Society of Orlando, Florida review for observations on pigeon neck luminescence. Pigeons are a rare middle ground where ordinary and extraordinary cross on a Venn diagram. You know how firework colors and community college chemistry lab lessons are made from different substances on the period table for their colors and explosive properties. Pigeons don’t even have to try. Sitting on the patio, under the pergola at the vegetarian restaurant, James, a knowledgeable man with a plethora of impressive skills and interests said “god is dead”. I pondered for a minute or two and decided that he has a point and there is no evidence to the contrary

Gabriella Pangborn: What a lovely place. My friend and I got dinner here, and we both enjoyed the wonderful food, kind servers, and atmosphere. I got the mock duck tacos, cauliflower bulgogi, and delicious house made cheesecake.I wish I lived closer to Powderhorn so I could come here more often! This place is a vegan gem.

Ryleigh Jones: Delicious food

Hailey Olson: Had an event at work catered by Reverie and the entire experience was fantastic. Everyone I worked with to organize the event was so kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and completely went above and beyond! The food was also fantastic! We were feeding a lot of teenagers which can be tricky, but the nacho bar that KG helped us organize was delicious and a huge hit with everyone! Stopped into their physical location on a later date and it’s beautiful. Will be returning to Reverie for sure!

Abbey Herndon: Great vibes, amazing food. They also have outdoor seating in the warmer months. I like that it’s pay when you get the food so you can leave whenever, no waiting for the check. My fav dish is the Mac and cheese.Dietary restrictions: All vegan!

Molly Mayne: . The Brussels sprouts were unique and delicious. I had the lemongrass tofu tacos and they exceeded expectations. Very crispy and well seasoned, and a good sized portion. My dad had the rice and beans and they were very flavorful and filling. Can’t wait to come back another time and try out other things on the menu!
