Sandra Pritchard: We thought it would be a quick visit. No, it was well thought out. A 20 minute film on the history of the Mills and Minneapolis. Then the Flour Tower, inspired. I am not going to give away secrets 😁. The whole experience of the Mill City Museum was awesome. It is a must to see. Views of the Mississippi from the observation deck were breathtaking.

Richard Erickson: Wonderful museum. About 2 to 3 hours for a visit. Great for kids with lots of hands-on exhibits. The flour tower is a cool exhibit. Great place to introduce people to the history of Minneapolis.

Jillissa Molnari: I recently visited Mill City Museum and was amazed by its rich history and unique setting. The museum, built within the ruins of the Washburn A Mill, offers a captivating glimpse into the revolutionary milling processes that shaped Minneapolis into the flour milling capital of the world in the late 19th century. The museum showcases the technological advancements of the Washburn-Crosby Co., later General Mills, and how it brought fine wheat flour to the masses. Walking through the National Historic Landmark, I could feel the significance of this site and its impact on the local community. The Minnesota Historical Society has done a fantastic job preserving and presenting this important piece of history. A must-visit for history buffs and anyone interested in Minneapolis' industrial heritage. The interactive Flour Tower was amazing, including a ride to the top of the mill and being able to see much of the Mississippi River!

I'm not an artist and certainly an amateur observer of art who greatly enjoyed the leading questions and engagement when offered by staff. In particular the lanky young employee who politely informed me of their water bottle policy before I entered the first exhibit also proved to be a wealth of information. In the very next room another employee successfully challenged me into recognizing a word in what largely appeared to be a jumble of chaos. The statue garden was fantastic and actively enjoyed by children adding a practical value to the inherent aesthetic value.

Xasan Daud: Thank you Somali Museum for keeping the importance of our culture and its artifacts, last week i had a great tour together with my kids and we enjoyed. kids learned more about their country and its culture. Thanks Seid for the wonderful tour you provided to us.

Abdullah Hussein: Woow it is good

Cam H: really was the highlight of our visit. She was friendly, informative, and opened up about her personal experience with Somalia which was powerful and insightful. The location is really the only downside to this Museum, as it deserves a much larger space with better public visibility. CATS FACTS: Very small but very good guided tour

m t muc: Nice people , great heritage

Ai Mb: Super informative museum. Well done

Lizsandra Edwards: Small but powerful. The best part? The staff was amazing. So incredibly kind, friendly and fun! Don’t be turned off from the size of the museum by the way. We spent about an hour there and we could have easily spent much more time! There is so much information and the tour was excellent and well explained. I appreciated how things were explained, we were invited to ask questions and then given a couple minutes to look around and read more information before we moved on to another section of the museum. The worst part? I wish we would have stayed longer!! It was just lovely. They also have a small gift shop in what I think is the office area. It’s very easy to miss and it’s all in one display case so it’s small but I went home with a book written by the founder of the museum that explains the artifacts even more. It was $20 and worth every penny! I am learning Somali so seeing part of the book written in that language was exciting. I think they need to move the display where people can see it though, otherwise you’ll miss out on some neat items. I also wish the museum was easier to find so more people would know it exists, maybe a bigger sign outside so they know it’s in a basement. Either way, I’ll be stopping by again for sure and our visiting friend from London had a great time too! Mahadsanid!

Josie H: Mr. Ali gave us a very informative and personal tour of the museum. He shared his knowledge of Somali history and culture in a way that really drew us in. Hundreds of artifacts in a small space, so plenty to look at and enjoy.

A M: I had a great tour. best ever museum experience I ever had well done The Somali Museum of MN.

Omar Alansari-Kreger: The arrival of the Somali Museum of Minnesota is something long overdue to the metropolitan area. Naturally, this has added to the multicultural richness of the Twin Cities. There are two key exhibits missing from the collection of the museum: the first should focus on documenting a visual history of the Somali Diaspora in Minnesota. Such an exhibit can be initiated by depicting images from the first families arriving in Minnesota from the early-1990s to the present. The same exhibit can also recognize key members of the diaspora that have contributed to the cultural & intellectual enrichment of the Twin Cities while avoiding political themes & topics.Secondly, the museum should have an exhibit on Somali Bantus detailing their history & how their ethnic identity forms part of an integral whole of Somali culture overall. Perhaps the Somali Museum of Minnesota can also work toward hosting a permanent diplomatic mission from Somalia specializing in diasporic affairs? Considering the Twin Cities hosts the largest Somali Diasporic Community in North America, the Somali Museum of Minnesota seems like a logical place to host an official Somali diplomatic mission outside Washington D.C.Finally, the museum should also consider introducing a library featuring Somali literature & transcribed oral poetry with a separate area dedicated to transliterating books from English into Somali for purposes of developing a shared intellectual perspective between both languages.

Josh “Troz” McCauley: Such a well curated space. We got there when they opened on a Saturday and got a private guided tour. I learned so much about Somalia and the culture. Definitely deserving of their Best Small Museum award.

Patrick Buggy: Fun fact: Minnesota has the largest population of Somali people outside of Africa.

Brian Wene: The events occurring here are consistently of very high value. I've watched films on the giant screen set up & have seen incredible talent showing their artistic greatness to eager crowds. Festivals are common during warmer times & good fun is had by all especially on warmer days.Restrooms: There are Men's & Women's restroom.Dog-friendliness: The park is a dog-friendly location.Picnic area: There are picnic areas.

Sadie Christensen: It was nice but really busy for my liking. But don’t get me wrong it was clean and well kept and nothing bad to say about the park itself. You will need to pay for parking which is fine for me but know they charge by the hour. It was worth checking out once for sure. But I like quieter parks to escape the city life. They even have paths for bikes and paths for walking.

Boom Island Park: what do users think?

Linda Novitt: Beautiful place so close to downtown

Sarah Survance: Very pretty park with a view of the skyline. In the springtime, there are lots of flowering trees which makes this an especially nice place to walk or picnic.

Vennamaneni Arpitha: Park with downtown views, picnic spot in downtownPlayground: Has play area for kids.Picnic area: Picnic spot in downtown, has good walking and cycling trails.

Akshaya Bhagavathula: As I explored the park, I was impressed by its well-kept facilities and variety of recreational options. The park features a boat dock, which makes it a popular launching point for boating and kayaking. Watching boats glide by on the river was a peaceful way to spend the afternoon, and the gentle sounds of the water added to the serene atmosphere. For those who prefer staying on land, the walking and biking trails are excellent for getting some exercise while enjoying the scenery. I took a leisurely walk along the trails and found several quiet spots perfect for sitting and enjoying the view, or even cracking open a book. One of the highlights of my visit was the picnic area, where I enjoyed a relaxed meal with a view. The picnic facilities are well-maintained, making it easy to spend several hours at the park without needing to leave for food or other necessities.Overall, Boom Island Park struck me as a fantastic spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without actually leaving it. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational facilities, and stunning views makes it a must-visit park in Minneapolis. Whether you're looking for an active day out or a tranquil place to unwind, Boom Island Park offers something for everyone.

Olivia Gorial: I ran the Hot Chocolate 15k which started and finished at the Park. It was 9.3 miles in the Mills District area. Just a beautiful run along the river! What struck me the most was no trash in the streets or on the course. Even the runners here are mindful and polite. The best part was catching photos of the waterfalls and all the bridges. Seeing people out with their family and dogs was so refreshing too!

Corey Chapman: Nice Park with great views of downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River.

The Museum of Russian Art: what do users think?

Gayle M: The museum was fabulously curated, and the building is a work of art in and of itself. They had exhibits from their permanent collection, cartoons and political art, surrealist work and modern large sculptures with natural wood and metal. Each artist had a story - many were about their difficulty pursuing their art in Russia. It was an incredible testimony to the freedoms we take for granted here in the United States.

Chang-Tsan Lu: We came here through the program "Museum on Us" by the Bank of America, and I feel grateful to have the opportunity to visit this little gem in the Twin Cities region. Milton Siegele: "The work of art is born of the artist in a mysterious and secret way. From him it gains life and being. Nor is its existence casual and inconsequent, but it has a definite and purposeful strength, alike in its material and spiritual life."~Wassily KandinskyWhat a beautifully pleasant surprise if you love art!We were wowed by the permanent collection and a few quite extraordinary pieces like:Milkmaids, Novella, 1962Nikolai N. BaskakovOil on Canvas, 47 x 90Gift of Pam and Jack Safar, 2015The architectural design of the gallery.is beautiful too.-The Museum of Russian Art is the only museum in North America dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Russian art and artifacts. They feature a dynamic rotation of exhibitions providing a gateway to understanding Russia's history, its heritage, and its art through the masterworks of its greatest artists.

Mike Olinger: Smaller but very nice art museum featuring artists of Slavic origins and local art as well.

Human On A Stick Magical History Segway Tour: what do users think?

Holmquist008: Can't speak of the tour or anything but had the pleasure of interacting with who I believe was the owner of the venture while taking photos with my wife on Halloween. Very nice gentleman.

Chris Kopp: My wife and I had a great time. Great value for the money. We learned a lot about the city and had fun using the segways. The main tour guide Tim was awesome but they all did a very good job. Thanks again to you all!!!

Rusty Deason: I took the Minneapolis historical tour today with Tim. He was fantastic. It was my first time on a Segway but Tim is a great teacher and it was not difficult to learn. The tour was excellent. Tim was kind and knowledgeable, was flexible and tailored my tour to my interests. I cannot say enough about how great it was. It was a beautiful day to be out and I got to see all of the points of interest I wanted to see. The management team were so accommodating and worked with my schedule so that I could have this opportunity to experience the Segway tour. It was a wonderful experience and I will likely do Segway tours on future travels. I’m hooked now. I would just like to let others know that Human on a stick is an amazing company with a fantastic staff. I would 💯 use them again and recommend them to others. Thanks for a great tour.

Kelly Guncheon: Even though all 8 of us were from the Twin Cities, the information from the guys was interesting and new to us, and they all seemed to really enjoy themselves. They timed the stops just right as standing on a segway is a little tough on the feet. It was just a great time, worth every penny!

James Richardson: My girlfriend and I booked a tour because I've always wanted to try riding a Segway. We also thought this would be a cool way to see a lot of sights in a shorter amount of time and to hear the history along the way. My girlfriend was quite apprehensive about the experience, and had doubts about her ability to maneuver the segway, but the staff was super helpful and professional and made sure to take their time to make sure that everyone was comfortable before the tour started. They were also watchful and helpful every step of the way for anyone that should be having any issues.Additionally, the guides were all just a great and fun group of individuals with a lot of knowledge and always eager to answer any questions and be accommodating in every way. By the end of the tour my girlfriend was scooting around with no issues and having a blast.Another added bonus was having a photographer on hand to take several fun action photos along the way.We loved everything about the experience and will recommend it to anyone.

Jim Matthewman: , and Tim made it happen. Been on probably 10 Segway tours in many different cities, one of the best for sure!

Katie Hosch: My husband and I recently took the Prince Minneapolis Sound Segway tour with HumanOnaStick and I couldn't be more thrilled with our experience! The tour stops at meaningful landmarks connected to Prince's legacy with music playing added a unique touch to theadventure. But what really stole the show was the sheer fun of riding the Segway through the city. I had a permanent smile on my face and the laughter was contagious among the group. This tour is an absolute must. Kudos to human on a stick for making such a fantastic and recommended experience!

Patrick O'Rourke: Greg and Denny were our guides for this great historical segway tour of Minneapolis. They were personable, knowledgeable and entertaining. A great 3 hours spent!

Darryl Randt: We had an absolutely wonderful experience!! Very interesting, beautiful scenery, our guide Tim was GREAT!! Safety was spot on. Tim was informative, safety conscious, and a genuine pleasant person to be around! We felt at ease and comfortable with him from the beginning to the end. Overall the experience could not have been better!!WELL DONE!!We’ll be back

Ruth Milberger: Tim & Greg were amazing tour guides. The Segway experience was fun, easy, and safe. We loved all the history. Highly recommend you book your tour.

Ryan Pulkrabek: These things are even more fun than they look. Tour guys are great and a wealth of knowledge. Minneapolis riverfront is incredible. A real gem that many folks aren't aware of.

Todd Schuiteman: experience! We did this same tour two years in a row

Robin Kocina: Great experience! The team that took care of us was awesome!

Colleen Johnson: The whole experience was so much fun! They help you learn the ins and outs of riding the Segway, and its not at all scary. The guides are informative and funny and make the tour so enjoyable. This is a definite must do activity.

Susan Barre: What a great and safe way to see Minneapolis and Nicolette Island! Highly recommend

Kathryn Lervick: So I had NO pictures of my being on a segway -- to brag about my 3 hour, totally-delightful journey. Feeling sad. Would have loved to have had a photo.

Tom Legierski: We had a tour scheduled for July 27 but because it is forecasted to be 100 degrees, and my wife and I are over 80 years old, we wanted to cancel. Bill was very cordial and agreed about the heat. I have taken this tour at least 4 times and it is great. It is super nice to know that when you have to cancel for good reason, the people at Human on a stick will understand. Thank you BillTom & Marie

Hans Larson: This experience was even better than I expected. I’d never been on a Segway previous to this, but the guides made the thorough training quick and easy. The tour throughout downtown Minneapolis was fun, very informative, and included a stop at the sculpture garden. Highly recommended!
