RETHINK Tailoring & Sewing Lounge: what do users think?

Cathy Swope: Rethink has retail too! Really cute vintage clothes in great condition plus upcycled items including jewelry you won't see everywhere. And they have added fabric too, it's not online but they have posted pics on their insta.

Logan Elizabeth: Rethink Tailoring is the place to go for repairs and clothing upcycle projects. Kristen and her team are so lovely and talented. My favorite part of Rethink is their commitment to sustainability and their goal of keeping garments out of the landfill!!

Molly Stoltz: Love the people at Rethink, they are so creative!

Bridget Adams: Super friendly and helpful! I'm really looking forward to taking more classes

Marky Marc: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWow! I'm very impressed with Kristen's skill set and expertise. I had some tricky alterations that were done to perfection. I'm so appreciative of Rethink Tailoring's work and mission. I will recommend to all my friends seeking alterations. Thank you for being in the neighborhood!Service:Alterations

Atlas Gizzi (Anna): They have my business for as long as they’ll take it! They make the best masks and do top notch tailoring

Merry Yeager: We just bought more masks from Kristen at Rethink, I can tell she put a lot of thought and effort into her design. It's nearly impossible to find a universal mask that will fit everyone perfect, but she got pretty close!! I like how the elastic can be tightened easily and I do think that helped some of my fitting issues. She even has a how to video for her masks! Mostly we love the playful fabric she chooses and I feel good supporting a business that cares so much about their community. Rethink has multiple volunteer and donations projects for COVID-19 locally. I'm also really stoked to get some sewing classes from her!

Madeline Strom: Rethink Tailoring is a community minded, super awesome clothing and fabric upcycling resource run by a totally beautiful human. We got four reversable face masks and they are super well made and we love them.

Lakes Makerie: what do users think?

Gabriele O'Connor: Beautiful store and wonderful sewing classes! I took a beginner sewing class here last night and it was so great. Our teacher was super helpful, the class size was perfect and I feel much more equipped to work on my own projects in the future.

Tim Loughrist: Lovely shop and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful!

Phanida T: Lovely selection of linen, staff is super friendly and helpful. One of my favorite fabric shop!

Emily Q. Tolly: The most charming neighborhood sewing shop. I am so happy this little place exists. They have beautiful, quality fabric and sewing supplies and are super helpful when I have gone in with questions for projects I am working on.

Karen S: My cousin went to London. When she returned, she gifted me with several small cuts of Liberty lawn, all pinks and rose colors. I needed more, in cooler colors, to make a lap quilt. I went online for smaller cuts of Liberty fabrics, found Lake Makerie, ordered, and the items were in my mailbox with the week. Great service. Thank you!

Nia steinhagen: beautiful shop with a gorgeous fabric selection and very kind employees. i will definitely be back!

Lauren Dosland: Absolutely lovely shop. I could have spent all day in there and gone broke, but happily. I love the fabric I got for my sewing project. Support this local business, we must protect it!

Christy Marsden: What a gem of a shop! The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, providing advice and assistance for choosing fabrics for my projects. They seemed to really enjoy sewing, and were welcoming to a beginner like myself who had lots of questions. The selection was really great, too! It was so nice being able to touch all the fabrics, drape them against my body to get a feel for how a dress may look, and to get everything else you need to start sewing. And given the proximity to the Minnehaha Parkway for easy biking, and a D line bus stop just a block or so away, I'll definitely be back!

Kathy Swenson: Beautiful, beautiful fabrics, fun notions, and lots of patterns not by the big pattern makers.

Julianne Marley: I love everything about this shop!

Sara McGirr: We had the best service experience in this gorgeous shop- They were incredibly helpful and patient as we gleefully selected from their hundreds of unique fabrics. As inexperienced sewists, we appreciated their expertise and suggestions for our project- namely, creating many pocket squares/handkerchiefs for my upcoming wedding. Love this shop and the people in it!

Claire Milldrum: So supportive and kind!

Cathy Swope: Love this store, they have beautiful fabrics you won't find at the chain stores and the staff was super friendly and helpful.Edit - stopped in today to pick up some eco friendly detergent and had to buy a beautiful Lady McElroy rayon lawn!

Deanna O: This store holds so many fabulous & unique fabrics including dry oil cloth. They carry some Liberty of London, and Rifle Paper Co as well. They also have bag making hardware! Staff was attentive and helpful during my visit. I will definitely be back, & recommend you visit them, too!

Valerie Gondrezick: So excited to find this incredible fabric shop in Minneapolis & was ecstatic to find Merchant & Mills organic cotton dry oilskin in many colors. Cutting & sewing this dry oilskin for bags & purses is a dream. This is a small shop that has the most amazing fabric collection & whoever the buyer is, has made every inch of it count!

Treadle Yard Goods: what do users think?

Deepa Nirmal: I don't sew but I stop by TYG often to buy buttons for my knitted sweaters. They have a great selection and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. One of these days I will find time to learn to sew, and take advantage of their gorgeous selection of fabrics. Oh, and they have unique things like rolls of oilcloth! I bought some for a patio table and it's fantastic because you can just wipe it clean. They stock it in a variety of fun summer prints. Please support local stores. Not only does this keep your $$ in the community, you simply cannot get this kind of expert advice or attention from a big box store or Amazon.

Bryce Livingston: They have a great collection of single buttons. The owner was incredibly helpful and kind! Although we couldn’t find an exact match to my missing button, they did have a couple which matched the dress. The owner gave me an awesome tip to make it all work.

J Cardarelli: Coming here is very worthwhile. A bit of a lot! But it's a secret...

Olga Formogey: Not the same store since owner changed. I think it is more sewing classes school rather fabric store... They have very limited amount of fabric, still some good choices, but...there are only about 20-30 fabric to choose from.. , most of it is cotton...

humble pup: No nonsense little shop selling good quality products and with enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

She is beyond experienced - hearing her rapidly doing calculations off the top of her head after just looking at a garment is really impressive. She did a rush job on a long dress for me with what turned out to be a tricky fabric/seam.I also appreciate how good of a listener she is when it comes to how you want a garment to fit - I never felt dumb asking about any of my requests and as far as I'm concerned she can work magic.

Joni Storie: Lovely staff and beautiful fabrics, a perfect little shop

Linda White: Excellent people, great classes and the quality of material and supplies is great. Don’t miss the annual garage sale.

Jeanette Masloski: The staff is friendly and helpful. I only saw street parking. Good selection of fabric. Will shop here again.

Nancy Lawal: Nice small shop. Beautiful fabrics and is a locally owned shop.

Kristen Swan: Very helpful friendly staff!!

Cathy Swope: City Blocks Quilt Shop is unique for fabric/quilting stores. It is a member owned store but anyone can shop there. This ownership structure came about in response from a desire to keep the former Glad Creations store going while increasing the commitment to serve the broader community which has a significant minority population.Because of their ownership structure, they can do things like having a "garage sale" with fabric, books and supplies donated by members. At this sale they sold high quality quilting fabric for $3/yard, enabling almost anyone to try sewing.Edit - lots of new fabric in stock today! July 2022Edit feb 2023 - Tilda be fabric line in stock and it's fabulous ♥️

Nathan Anderson: Awesome and friendly staff

Barbara McCauley: Staff very helpful! Beautiful fabric selections, especially ones from a Scandinavian designer!

Viola Rae Kassing: They are starting to stock the shelves with delicious fabric. It's acquiring its own atmosphere.

Christine Gamm: I love our neighborhood quilt shop, and I especially love that it's a co-op!

Keri Erickson: I was over the moon to know that there is once again a quilt shop on the Southside!!! They have classes and membership, fabric and notions. They are willing to order what you want!*** Update *** I needed help figuring out how to adjust a pattern to fit a need. I was making a quilt for my father a retired Army Major and I need to add 30 inches to the overall length and I needed a backing/binding. There is a lovely lady who helped me to figure out how to make it work for his hospital bed. It worked out beautifully and he put it on his bed before we left after I gave it to him for Christmas 2021.

Charlotte Breivik: The clerks are great at assisting in fabric selections for planned projects. The store has limited hours but it has worked for my schedule.

Gail Bronner: Good service, inspiring selection of fabric. Also has notions wall. Great place to start a new project with helpful advice and fabric selection.

I will continue to use this location and very highly recommend them to sewists of any level. Thank you Creative Sewing, Roseville!

Jessica Timmerman: For the past 15 years I’ve consistently looked to them for my sewing needs! I had gone in thinking i needed to buy a new machine, but they had a brother machine having the same issues to my singer machine and she simply said, oh we just need to bring it in and get a tune up. She wasn't there for commissions, but rather there to help a fellow sewer get the best out of their current machine. I'm now bring in 5 machines!!! 3 of my own and 2 of my mother in laws because they were so honest and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for sewing questions or buying a new machine.

Eric Ebbesen: I had an error code on my sewing machine. Jane spent 10 minutes with me troubleshooting it over the phone but we weren't able to get it working so I brought it to the shop and Jane got it running!Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful service!

Valley West Sewing: what do users think?

Elizabeth A: So helpful for a new sewist! They looked over my second hand sewing machine right in the store, helped troubleshoot thread tension issues, and talked through machine maintenance I can do at home. I heartily recommend stopping in if you need sewing machine repairs.

Jan Shaw-Flamm: They are very knowledgeable and showed me so much that helped me pick and use the right sewing machine. Kathy knows many brands of machines very well and generously shared her knowledge.

Rebecca Saito: They fixed while i waited so i wouldn't have to wait 2 months. That's old time customer service@

Dexter Carlson: I received a serger as a gift and noticed that one of my threads was having a progressively worsening tension issues, no matter how much I adjusted it. I took my machine to Valley West and they helped me right away and gave me so much great information about my machine along the way. AND while I was there I noticed how much hustle the staff has, and with such wonderful kindness. I will be returning for any future issues and recommending to other sewing machine owners!

teresa chillingworth: I have brought my sewing machine in for a tune up and was given a free class from the owner. She showed me how to keep my machine clean and in wonderful shape. Vacuum cleaner has gotten a cleaning too. Great job!

Linda Daly: My sewing machine was fixed while I watched which was a helpful learning experience. I also got tips on preventing the same problem from happening again. Very worthwhile driving 25 minutes to get such great service!

Sue Lamfers: Great service to the point where they have a queue waiting for repair and cleaning. Multiple brands are looked at and they are honest if they can't help you. Have been using them since before they moved to present location.

Patricia Mudoy: , they checked it on the spot and fix it. And price is fair!! Thank you!

Kristene Huston: They were so helpful. Got my machine up and running while I waited.

Allison H: Love this shop. I've brought my machine in twice, and honestly I had kind of stupid mistakes I was making with the machine. But they helped me figure out what I was doing wrong and I was able to get training on how to best maintain my machine for a very affordable price. They were kind both times and tried to help me get what I needed without having to wait if possible. I really recommend this shop.

Lexi Capri: I took my sewing machine in for repair and they fixed it in 10 minutes, oiled it, showed me how to oil it myself, and all for free. Awesome service and very friendly, too. I will definitely come here again!!!

MARY MOCHINSKI: I went in for a foot control for my sewing machine. I called ahead and was pleasantly surprised at the price and when I got there was pleasantly surprised the sewing machine repair person was extremely helpful at discussing my machine’s issue. I will bring my machine there for tuneups in the future. If you need something for your machine try them instead of ordering it online. It saved me time and money.

Kelley vilen: Great service. They were able to look at my machine, fix my simple issue, and get me on my way on the same visit. Will definitely be returning for future repairs.

Shawn Mason: that I had a broken foot, which I hadn’t noticed! She was so kind and professional, and the price was extremely modest considering the excellent service. I will definitely return!

Sew What!: what do users think?

Scott Atlar: I have used this place a few times for tailoring suits and they do a fine job. Also had them patch the knee on a pair of jeans. I think they're pretty good.Services:Alterations,General repairs

Yaya: I adore this place. They are fast and friendly!Always my first choice when I need anything done.

Kenneth Speed: Great people, they've always done a wonderful job for me.

Tom B TV: I have had many items altered here. Fantastic job always !

Nicole Sadowski: Wonderful! So kind, great work! Once a year I make a review, and this has my 2019, 5 stars Review of the Year!

jeff fontano: These guys are great! Priced very fairly and done in plenty of time. Quality work, polite, and very nice people. I had a zipper replaced and some pants hemmed and it was $25. I was quoted almost double this at other places. I will continue coming here.

Thomas Hillmann: This place does great work. I brought in a coat that needed a zipper pull fixed. The guy at the counter had it fixed for me and I was out the door in under 10 minutes.

Mama Rikki: I am very pleased with the service and my alterations!! Highly recommended!!

Alex Dubra: I had an XL jersey I needed altered down to basically a S. The woman who helped me talked me through what it would look like as she had to cut through some important areas of the jersey, which was helpful in me being sure I wanted to alter so I thought it was a helpful step. The pricing was posted on the wall, but seemed to be a bit more of a negotiation process when we got to that point. I was happy to pay what she asked as I had a good feeling she was going to be sure it was well done. When I picked it up at the end of the week, she let me know she had to cut slightly different than what we discussed. This was no problem as I trusted her judgement and now I have an excellent jersey. This was my first experience getting something tailored, but next time I am in need I will be back to support this neighborhood shop.

Kathleen Kipper: I took my granddaughter's top end exquisite prom dress to this location for alteration and they exceeded my expectations we were astounded with the quality of their service. I will recommend them to all. Thank you , we will never choose to go anywhere else.
