The Oceanaire Seafood Room: what do users think?

Ellen Bracewell: Audrey was a wonderful amazing waitress and I enjoy her great personality

Kevin Biegler: Hadn't been to Oceanaire in many years. Now I cannot remember why and we will be back much much sooner. Stopped in on whim after the Twins opener sat at the bar. The signature Old Fashioned is beyond compare. The raw bar was fresh and their oysters incredibly delicious. We did a series of appetizers and cocktails the bar staff was friendly and efficient and fun! It was still the same great Oceanaire we remembered and we won't be waiting to go back! Thanks for a great evening!

Sea Change: what do users think?

Jeannie Hill: We’ve enjoyed brunch, dinner, and just appetizers here over the years in conjunction with attending performances at The Guthrie Theater. Actually, once we can another time just for the food. If you want truly five-star food and service, The Sea Change restaurant doesn’t disappoint. It’s “sustainable seafood” and raw bar have served us both super fresh and unique dishes each time. For anyone living in the Twin Cities and wanting exceptional dining with fish as the featured dishes, or are visiting here, the Sea Change experience is worth the added price! We don’t think that exceptional food and service should be at comparable prices for typical dishes. The creativity of the chef and staff merits a special outing and tipping them too. We’ve had the same server more than once, and really found her most pleasant and helpful.I recommend trying the tuna tartare, oysters, and mussels if you are between appealing entrée options. The staff gave us suggestions as to accompanying drinks and we found their advice was right on.We give Chef Tim McKee and Culinaire high praise for the atmosphere and how this restaurant stands out for serving both the local community and out-of-town visitors who are looking for something unique and well-executed.For cocktails both Toes in the Sand and Snow Cone are terrific orange infused beverages. On one cold frost day in particular, they served up some of the best hot chocolates we’ve had.Parking is no problem and we love dining by its huge and beautiful windows. We’ve brought guests 3x and each party really enjoyed the experience and expressed their appreciation. We want to return now that the Guthrie has resumed performances!

Tanner Samson: Nice location, upscale restaurant with a good atmosphere and amazing food

Kathleen Heinlen: Romantic bar with wonderful pre-play drinks and food next to the Guthrie Theater!🍷🍸🎭

Luke Erickson: Great food!

Kimberly doherty: Excellent service and great food! Great location to eat before a show at the Guthrie!

Lalo Quillo: Nice place and great food

Hey You Yeah You: I enjoyed everything about this place.

Devin Fisher: Some of the best seafood I’ve had and I’m surprised I found it in Minneapolis. Make sure you try the grilled octopus. You won’t be sorry. Ok, maybe you will but only because you can’t have it every night.

Jordan Schmidt: Phenomenal menu and service

David Haines: Sat at the bar. Great food, attentive service. 10/10 will be back

Smack Shack: what do users think?

Alex Rudie: Stopped in for a late lunch on a rainy day and was able to order off the dinner menu a little early. We got the lobster poutine as a an appetizer, and it came out super hot and fresh. The cheese melted on top was so gooey and delicious. I ordered the stuffed salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and flakey, and the lobster stuffing was yummy. The wild rice was a tad sweet but still yummy.

Terry B: lobster roll was beautiful and packed with meat, served with really good Frenchfries. Although I felt it was a bit bland, I would order it again. I would try the hot one next time. It is pricey, they usually are. It was 32.00. The fish taco was great!

Sarah Washington: I've been a loyal customer at Smack Shack for years, and I can't believe I haven't left a review until now. This place deserves a solid five stars, not only for being an exceptional restaurant but also for making me feel like part of their family. The food at Smack Shack is absolutely phenomenal, especially their cheesecake, which I believe is the best in the state, if not the world. The customer service is top-notch, with everyone being incredibly kind and friendly. The cooks at Smack Shack are truly phenomenal, and I believe they have the best chef in town. I've celebrated my birthday there every year since I just turned 44, and it's always been a memorable experience. Even my grandson loves it there, as they are kid-friendly and even have a beautiful patio where you can bring your fur babies.I must also mention the amazing happy hour they offer. The lobster roll is a must-try, and their drinks are top-tier. If you haven't been to Smack Shack yet, I highly recommend you give it a try. And when you do, make sure to mention that Miss Washington sent you!#SmackShackLove #FiveStarExperience #FamilyLikeVibes"#Boom#1Love

Sea Salt: what do users think?

Eli Johnson: , but the real magic here is sitting outdoors in the beauty of Minnehaha Park, tons of dogs, the birds chirping, an acoustic guitar guest, and the faint hiss of Minnehaha Falls just over the wall. Every time i come here, i think to myself that i need to do it more often.

Jessie Deardorff: I got the fried fish basket and threw it directly into the waterfall

Paul Bowers: Terrific food in a wonderful setting: Minnehaha Park. Friendly employees, reasonable prices, generous portions. The sexy ahi burger is to die for, likewise the clam chowder. I wish the clam chowder was a regular menu item. Clam fries have gone from one of my favorites to dropping off the menu for me. While it’s a generous serving, there’s no flavor. Fish basket is excellent! The seafood stuffed avocado is also excellent but it’s actually only half an avocado. While it’s not uncommon to have to stand in line for half an hour before you can place your order, the food is ALWAYS well worth the wait. This has become my favorite TC restaurant, hands down.

The Capital Grille: what do users think?

Walter D.: Food: Both our stakes were cooked to perfection, the bread plate is something to look forward to and the recommended wine was perfectly matched to our entrees.Service: The service it self will make you want to come back, the minute you walk in you are being greeted and complimented. Every person that we spoke to wished us a happy anniversary, they even had heart confetti spread out on our table

Nora Hyde: . I ordered Lobster & Crab Cakes, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and the Tenderloin & Lobster entree. Incredible quality of food and service. Highly recommend.

Jackie Kramer: We both just retired so went to the Capital grille for a celebratory dinner and it did not disappoint!!! Angel was our server and he was outstanding! Our food was prepared perfectly and they gave us a lovely cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake with fruit since we were first time customers. Don’t waste your time going elsewhere- this is our new favorite special restaurant. Thank you Angel!!! You made our night even more special!

Nicole Schauer Wagner: Great service. Great food. Great atmosphere. Our friend Mike Lopac in the bar was amazing!

The Anchor Fish & Chips: what do users think?

Max Z: Remains a highlight in northeast - good vibes better food

Tomazin Scanning: Nice neighborhood vibe! Saw about this place on a travel video and was happy to go. They were jammed, even on a Wednesday night, but my waitress got me a table without too long of a wait and was very nice and helpful. The shepherd's pie was VERY good, and I had the special guest local hard cider on tap that was solid. Hope to make it back there someday!

Kelly Regan: Really good fish and chips. I love cod it’s one of my favorites. And the tartar sauce is amazing, the best tartar sauce I’ve ever had and I’m not even a tartar sauce person… don’t pass up the tartar sauce! The coleslaw was really good too! I’m picky about my coleslaw and this one is a winner.

Brandon Jay Rockensock Sutton: I live up the block and have to limit my exposure here to once a month to prevent more, ahem, expansive trends. Really big, deep-fried cod fillet and gorgeous chips. I add a little vinegar to the purple, raisiny cole slaw and eat my fish with that, saving a hundred calories by not getting tartar sauce. Don't make the faux pas of ordering malt vinegar... Irish pubs apparently use white. Oh yeah, local ciders, Irish ales, and pasties, burgers, poutine, gravy. Get a reservation online. Afterward, walk down to the Mississippi and find the park to watch the sunset.Parking: A few spots in back. Park on a side street. Take Metrotransit route 11 and get off at 13th Ave NE.

McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks: what do users think?

Ras Kafka: The best thing about M&S is that they are consistently good across all locations that I have visited. When traveling, you don't always want the spendiness of Capital Grille but you also want better food than Maggiano's, this experience fits as a nice option somewhere in between. So when I moved to SW Minneapolis, it was nice to find this location. I would go a lot more but parking is terrible there. That is my only complaint.

The Walkers: The food was excellent, and I'm glad we chose this establishment over the always packed Cheese Cake factory down the street. However, the four stars total was given because of our server. The service was excellent, and he was fairly amusing, but his jargon was a bit uncomfortable for most of us. I am guessing he assumed all minorities spoke a certain way that was quite unsettling. My father helps run a non-profit organization through a group of churches sponsored by the St. Paul police department, and has a band called show me love that performs all over the city, I am currently in the military 24 years strong, my spouse works in federal law enforcement, my mother works at her church and with social services and we definitely presented our selves well, including my sister, nephew, plus my two sons. Even if we didn't have the background or presented ourselves well, there was no excuse, especially when he spoke to other tables in a normal fashion. I didn't include his name and was conflicted about including this in the review because outside of that, the service was impeccable, and we felt he meant well. A lot of these situations occur because, well, meaning people don't receive sensitivity training. Training is necessary to break down and eliminate stereo types as well supports more neutral customer service. Allowing all patrons to receive the same consistent services. ALL THAT SAID.... We had a great time, the food was delicious, and I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Khloe Seo: I dare can say that this is THE best seafood and steak place in Minnesota. Every ingredients are fresh and the foods appear to be cooked just right. I had Parmesan Crusted Flounder and my niece had Fillet Mignon. We are pretty particular with food, yet very satisfied.Kid-friendliness: The service staff was quite friendly and approachable. She appeared very knowledgeable about her menu. I liked her.

Angela Pearson: . The service was great and the food was fantastic. A nice touch is a special menu with HAPPY BIRTHDAY printed at the top for your birthday celebration

Ruth's Chris Steak House: what do users think?

Sharon Gee: We had a private dining lunch last week and Lynn was amazing! Thank you all for a lovely experience!Vegetarian options: Mac and cheese

T Jordan: Rhett was our server and he was great! Very friendly and attentive. There was never a moment where are glasses were empty he was always there for refills. He answered any questions that we had for him. This was the best service we had during our Minneapolis trip. The food was 10/10 of course very flavorful and came out very quickly. Highly recommend coming in and ask for Rhett to be your server, he was that good!

Nancy Nan: I came to this place by myself for a national conference. The overall experience was awesome! I booked a bar place since I am on my own but they were flexible about siting me at one of the table when the bar was full. The food I ordered were amazing. I ordered spicy shrimp, grilled sprouts, and classic brûlée! They taste amazing. One of the bar tenders are so nice to check on me frequently and make me feel like I am not alone. I like it so much! I will definitely recommend it!

Dave Schmidt: Another great experience at Ruth’s Chris! You continue to live up to expectation.Parking: Plenty of options that are close.

Jay: Was in celebrating my birthday with 5 people and Lynn NEVER skipped a beat. Provided my vegitarian friends with ideas for food and provided excellent service while catering to other more challenging diners. 10+ stars. Thanks Lynn and Ruths Chris team!!

Café and Bar Lurcat: what do users think?

Heather Kaiser: This is one of our special occasion places! The food and ambience is always so great. If you have friends visiting from out of town, this is the place you want to take to impress them. We like the bar side, but went for a date night recently and ate on the dinner side. We had an impromptu four course meal that was curated by our server. We took out time and didn't feel rushed. Every server and staff seem to be in a good mood and polite, whether they are bringing you food, cleaning your table, or passing you on your way out. I definitely recommend going about an hour before sunset. PS the setting in the former monk's quarters is beautiful.

Joan L: was in front of our order, so she offered us a side dish to accompany our main meals and we added the sweet potatoes.🐓 The main entrées were well done — chicken was beautifully carved and presented. The skin was tasty. The black rice and sauce were nice compliments to the meat.🐖 The pork chop was a beautiful, thick cut of meat. We ordered it medium and it may have been ever so slightly cooked a little under medium. Seasoning was perfect and had a nice, tart flavor coming through with the sauerkraut.🍠 🌟 WOW! 🤩 The sweet potatoes were the star of the evening! Sweet, savory, bright and fresh with lemon, crispy skins… just wow! Order the sweet potatoes!!🍰 For dessert, we ordered the chocolate panna cotta and olive oil cake. Both were absolutely stunning and would fit right in at any patisserie! Excellent flavors, textures, and presentation! Faultless!I’ll definitely be coming back!

Mike Stefan: Love this place. The wings and scallops are my favorite. Also, hits my fix for American Chinese dishes. Not on the menu but love making PoBoy sandwiches with their fried seafood.

Nina Hunter: I've been going to this place more off the lake street location originally 💯 but for over 15 years, both locations always tasted the same. Now the sauce is always a MUST sweet/spicy.. The Monte Carlo: what do users think?

Mark Skorupa: Super cool place! Stopped by after a baseball game looking for a late dinner and a drink. It had an old school feel to the place that is a little difficult to describe. Maybe something from the 50's? We sat at the bar and got our dinner order in just before the kitchen closed. The chili was amazing and the Cajon chicken sandwich was pretty good. The drinks and the bartender were also great.

Will DeGraw: A TIE FOR THE NO. 1 SPOT IN THE CITIES TO GET WINGSI have NEVER had poor service at Monte Carlo. I have NEVER had a drink I didn't love. I have NEVER had a wing that I didn't cherish. Yes, I have only ordered the wings at Monte Carlo, but when they're the best, why order anything else!? I'm always looking for another reason to go back. It's a great date spot, too. The vibe is definitely exclusive; not too dark, separated just enough from other guests, and luxurious but not stuffy.

Amber Crowley: Monte Carlo is just awesome! The steak was seriously amazing - cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service was on point too, with the staff being super friendly and helpful. And let's not forget about the vibe - it was just right, not too fancy but still nice enough to make you feel special.Overall, Monte Carlo is a top spot for a great meal. The food rocks, the service is spot on, and the atmosphere is cozy yet cool. If you're up for a tasty meal in a chill setting, Monte Carlo is the place to be. Can't wait to go back for more of that delicious steak!

Manny's Steakhouse: what do users think?

Davis Zackaria: Incredible setting with amazing service… loved the part where they show different meat cuts and the size they are serving!!Ordered Double Porterhouse, Roasted Bone Marrow, Sautéed Mushrooms, Glazed Sprouts, and creamed garlic spinach among three people. The portion was filling and the meat was juicy and super delicious.

Grace Berg: Located in the W Hotel and first floor of the Foshay Tower, liked the location. The room is one big room with tables everywhere almost shoved together so it gets really loud, lots of business and big group dinners.Steak lacked flavor overall, I would return but because of the steaks but the apps and sides. Great service, attentive, more than helpful and went above and beyond for us.Great sides, loaded hash browns are monstrosities and had enough to feed everyone and then some. Also fair selection of desserts that were also sharing size - everything is jumbo it seems. Full bar menu and tons of options.

Kinkel Kinkel: Lamb chops were large and melt in your mouth amazing. Highly recommend the truffle fries and asparagus for sides.Easily some of the best cheesecake I've had.

Ops Doctor: The experience is pure top line steakhouse. The atmosphere is perfect. The staff are fabulous. Portions are giant. The key lime pie was big enough for 3. Potatoes were delish. Pie among the best I've had. The Manny's Manhattan was very good. The disappointment was the steak. It was not on par with a premier steakhouse. Not as favorable or juicy as it should have been. Plus, it had a lot of gristle. This is a 200 a plate or more place.

Anna Mikell: . I enjoyed my meal too quickly to take photos, but I did snap a pic of the "Death by Chocolate" dessert. It was made with love and delicious!

Sue: Perfect for a birthday celebration! Husband and I each had the large filets, son had double porterhouse and they were all perfectly done. Service was friendly and excellent. Sides of loaded mashed potatoes and mushrooms were good for 3 people and we had a little extra.Decadent Bailey’s cake available for son’s birthday, which was perhaps the best dessert ever. Staff made the occasion seem festive and special without drawing attention of other guests, which we really appreciated.Parking: Valet available for a fee, plus several ramps available within 1-2 blocks.

Jack Miller: This place is great, my wife and I were in from our of town to celebrate our anniversary and from the moment you enter the front door to the moment you exit, the customer service is absolutely phenomenal. I've been to the oceanaire for seafood, I've been to Murrays for steaks. Here I got the lobster tail and the dry aged ribeye, in my opinion both courses beat the oceanaire and Murrays. Yes, you're going to have to open your wallet up for this experience, but I promise it's worth it. The lobster tail was fantastic and the steak was excellent.. overall this place is a 9.5/10. The only thing that held it back for me is the bone marrow, I wasn't upset at the price of anything except for that item, for what you pay you get very little. The apple wood smoked bacon is fantastic, I highly recommend that for an appetizer. The cocktails are great, yes expensive, but they're loaded. The customer service? Phenomenal, best experience I've had anywhere. The waiter was knowledgeable, excited, and friendly. I've never seen steak sold before, this place does it and it's one of the best parts of the experience. Overall fantastic place for a special occasion. We will be back!

James Conley: Visited Mannys after a Vikings game. Best Steakhouse I’ve ever dined at. Bout all I can say… the best!

Pittsburgh Blue Steakhouse: what do users think?

Justin Smith: with dry ice and palm leaves and like 10 cherries. My old fashioned was excellent and honestly a great value, drank it throughout the whole meal easily. Only weird thing here is they apparently intentionally don't put a cherry into the old fashioned - something I've not seen before - but we're happy to provide them upon my request.Nikki, our server, was exceptional the whole time. Great conversation, able to have fun and laugh with us. We really appreciated her attention to our table throughout which was the perfect balance of there without being intrusive while we chatted.Food order was filet mignon of course for most of us, and 2 of us took Nikkis advice and got the surf and turf which upgraded the meal with two scallops. Steaks were ofcourse exceptional, great bark and perfect inside. Scallops were good, but we thought the Bernaise was kinda out of place on them. Maybe it could have been served on the side? Not a deal breaker but something to consider. My son got a steak salad, which he orders everywhere, and it looked and apparently ate fantastically. He devoured it. We also got sides of asparagus with hollandaise, grown up mac, and mushrooms. All fantastic, the mushrooms for an individual portion were monstrous and able to he shared easily. Other sides were great, asparagus was awesome and huge!End of the meal came, and Nikki comes out with a giant placing of chocolate lava cake, and Happy Birthday wishes across the whole thing. Kids devoured it like vultures and said it was amazing.Whole experience start to finish was exceptional and a true testament to Pittsburgh Blue. My wife and I had been several times, but taking the kids for the first time was magic. Not sure it could have been more perfect and kids are all saying they want to come back for their birthdays. Thank you to everyone here for such an awesome time.

A.: My sister and I visited Pittsburgh Blue on my birthday. 🎂Everything about my experience was top notch! All aspects of service provided were 100% professional!I had a martini 🍸with blue cheese stuffed olives that was fabulous. My very resistant sister even liked it! 🙂👍We enjoyed salads that were fresh and delicious. My sister ordered a glass of red wine 🍷that the server recommended. She really enjoyed it. I tasted it and liked it too. I am not typically a red wine drinker. We each got the queen size prime rib that was massive. The horseradish sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the prime rib. Each order was cooked to perfection. One note, people at the next table ordered the fish options which also looked and smelled amazing. The restaurant seems to have something for everyone. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts, mushrooms and the Asparagus with hollandaise. I recommend these. They were wonderful.I was surprised with a small chocolate cake with a candle and a Happy Birthday message that was very yummy!!We each left with large doggie bags!I will visit this establishment in the future. We did make a reservation and were seated immediately.I recommend calling a head to see if reservations are required. Before going, I appreciated that I was able to view the menu online. If you are able to go, enjoy!Vegetarian options: Roasted veggies, salads and potato optionsParking: Handicapped parking availableWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessibility provided

Mac's Fish / Chips / Strips: what do users think?

Valencia Johnson: The food was decent, I had the walleye. I really wish they seasoned their fish and fries it was very bland. My favorite was the cheese curds, so delicious.

Ras Kafka: malt vinegar. Also, if you have lived around walleye and want to change things up, you can actually choose between 3 or 4 different fish options. The halibut is just slightly more expensive than the walleye and is another great tasting option. But this place doesn't just end with their signature fish and chips. I usually get a single piece of fish and a small order of fried clam strips. Each is on the large side, so I still can't finish it all, but I also can't bring myself to choose just the fish or just the clams. My only wish is that they offered the choice of belly-on clams or strips or a mixed batch. Then I could close my eyes and think back to the cooler end of season days on the beaches of Rhode Island, cuddling with the girl that you met just that summer. And finally, get some salt water taffy! Sometimes they are out or they may be hidden behind the counter, so ask for them even if you won't see them. I forget the exact price, but they are well worth it. You end up with a good sized bag of them, so they are a great treat even for larger families.Parking: Their parking lot only has a few spots so you will probably end up with street parking on the short street that runs parallel to Lyndale.

Mark Erickson: Loved the Walleye!Food: 5/5 …

Tom: Best in twin citiesRecommended dishes Cod, Chips Parking space Difficult to find parking …

Reece Tolkinen: Get the Halibut. It's beyond great

Daniel Holmberg: Best fried fish I've had. The cod and walleye are good but once you try the halibut, you'll never go back. The hand cut fries are good and the cheese curds are great. If you sign up for their customer loyalty program, you get great coupons every week pretty much for things like free cheese curds, 15% off, 23% off, or other free items....or $5 off your order. It's really a great program and I use those coupons every time I go. Pro Tip: The lime tartar sauce is much better than the regular tartar sauce.

Tilia: what do users think?

Joel Abrahamson: Love this place! Every cocktail I've ordered has been spot-on, and the dishes always bring together unexpected flavors. The brunch menu includes chilaquiles, which you don't see everywhere in the Twin Cities.Tilia also has a thoughtful kids menu and not particularly expensive. Top it off with kind servers, and it's well worth it.

Augustin McLaughlin: Pros: Good cocktails, amazing service, cozy interior.Cons: Nothing really.Drank: Two CocktailsRecommend: Yes

Weo Kick: and atmosphere cozy. Our main dishes were a little less mind blowing than the small-dish starters... One was rich but really toooo rich, making it heavier than is enjoyable, while the other entree had outstanding flavors that didn't quite blend as they should... Sharp and tangy beets, grilled cauliflower and minerally fish not melding quite right. The flavors didn't create a symphony, but also kept me intrigued... maybe it has to grow on me? All in all a very good experience and we'll definitely be back to try more original recipes. Happy this unique dining experience exists so nearby.

Kente Johnson: This place was highly recommended to me because my girlfriend was craving a seafood boil, so we decided to go. Before we went I asked people and they all said the Cajun Kitchen in Crystal is the best location. I would say that the food was amazing they gave us a lot of seasoning and butter with our seafood boil. The only thing I can say they need to improve on is just checking on their tables a little more. After our server gave us our seafood boil and utensils he never came back to check in on us so, we had to keep waiving him down to get refills and order more things. Other than that the food and quality was amazing.
