Brian Wene: Palmer's is a great place for live music because from anywhere in the bar you can easily see the band onstage. Drinks are not terribly expensive and the bartenders are very nice and the live music is always great! I highly suggest giving Palmer's Bar a visit. d Davis: A bar like PALMERS represents what a bar/tavern should be like. All sorts of characters come and go. A teacher, a parent, students, retirees, blue collar folks, criminals, republicans, future criminals, democrats, alcoholics, recovering this or thats, white, black, brown and other. It’s about sipping a drink and talking with whom ever is on a barstool close by. Sharing stories and learning some stuff and most likely you’ll have another just to stay a little longer. A lively patio out back that gets more interesting into the night. Eclectic and diverse live music all year round. I won’t call it a dive bar and it’s not quite a club if anything people come here cause they need a little piece of love.

Kelly Faris: I'd give a solid 3.5-4 stars, this place used to be amazing but like with every restaurant, covid has taken a toll on it's menu selection and prices. Food is still very good though, the nachos are a must have and are a meal on their own unless you are sharing with the table! Mixed drinks have always been great so props to the bartenders! Prices seem a bit high but it is downtown MPLS and everything is high priced right now. For two of us, 2 burgers, 2 drinks and nachos it was about $120. For what the food is that seems high to be but it was a treat to be out without our kiddos. I noticed other reviews complain about portion size, it may seem small but in reality it is more than enough food on your plate to fill you up, no one needs to eat that many French fries anyways. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere with clean bathrooms and great people watching if you get a booth by the window! Hostess and our waiter were great and very knowledgeable. Overall it's definitely worth stopping in.

Christopher Liserio: What a nice place to eat and drink with friends. Great vibe! Waitress was awesome. Asked her opinion between the fish and chips and the chicken sandwich…but before she could answer I just told her to pick and surprise me. She did not disappoint when she brought me the chicken sandwich!! Guinness was so good!!!! Then when asked how good the cheese cake was she said it was worth it….AGAIN…she did not do me wrong. Next time I come to town I’m coming back!

David Speidel: First time in and I cannot wait to go back. I had the Irish stew which was delicious. Sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive while the clientele there was friendly. The menu has tons of great options, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was prompt and welcoming.Went back for a 2nd time and had the cobbler's pie. Also delicious and our service was great.

Noah Jorstad: This is such a beautiful building, we were so interested in all the fine woodwork and details. We couldn't believe the building wasn't a bank or hotel or something years ago.However, I was a bit let down by the food. The pretzel was good although I'm sure not made in house, and the very spicy mustard just tasted very horseradishy. My Flatbread had good flavor, but I'm sure the Flatbreads aren't made fresh either, it was floppy and chewy.
Stefanie Alarcon: So this review is over a 3 day visit time span. My friend and I were visiting Minneapolis and we stayed downtown. We decided to go here our first night and fell in love. The inside of the local feels like an old pub in Ireland. We kept coming back because the food was delicious, they had non-alcoholic Guinness, and the service was excellent. We only ate there twice but went back for a non-alcoholic Guinness one of the days just to hang out. We tried the cheese curds, the Shepherd’s pies and the Corned Beef Flatbread over 2 visits and all of it was delicious. If you’re staying in downtown Minneapolis give this place a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Jessica Husted: Such a great date place. The ambiance is romantic. The lights are dim and the music is great. The food came out very quickly.We had the cauliflower appetizer, which was great. The beet salad was DELICIOUS! The chimichuri steak was good but had very little chimichuri. Potatoes with the steak were boring.I would definitely recommend this for a date night.

What truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by the bartender, a young man with a mustache. He was incredibly helpful, offering us a variety of beer options to sample until we found our perfect match. When I asked for a specific flavor profile, he nailed it right away!
