Naomi Drake: Wow. Wells pianos has been the absolute most favorite piano store I have ever visited. I visited back in July on my way to a wedding and just popped in to see what they had. Not only was the staff incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, their pianos were beyond words. They had a Bösendorfer grand, but more beautifully they had a Steinway that was more wonderful than anything I have ever played in my life. It responded to anything you could throw at it. You could play and give it all the feeing in the world and it would react to your style. You could pull back that same feeling and it would beautifully mellow out the notes. I talk about that store more than anywhere I’ve ever been to a piano store. That piano stole a piece of my heart and I long to go back and play it again. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and visit that magical place. You won’t regret it!! ♥️

A little Star: It’s a long and confusing process on choosing a piano as a parent who never played any music. But everything changed when I entered the door of Wells Piano at Sunday afternoon before the closing time. Kieran’s so professional, kind, patience to me and my families. I especially liked how he got along with my kid. What’s more, he even recommended a very good piano teacher and a piano technician to us! What I love most about this store is their super fast and reliable customer service. I called them at work, when I arrived at home, the technician had already finished the work and left! Tim Lees: I love this place. Small neighborhood guitar shops seem to be a thing of the past, and I remember them fondly from the 70's and 80's. I thought they were all extinct. This shop is a trip back to that era. Nothing glitzy, nothing fancy - but so real and authentic. Dale is a super nice guy, with a ton of knowledge, and he is an actual luthier. Took my Les Paul Standard in for a new nut and setup, and it was done perfectly. Had him put new pickups in my Telecaster, and a setup. Again, perfect. And the prices? Unbeatable. Dale is my guitar guy from here on out.

Product was packaged well and the shop did a phenomenal job getting it ready to ship and plays better than I could have hoped. Mike Merwin: on a favorite guitar but I was hesitant to bring it in because it's not exactly a pro-level guitar and I am not exactly a studio player. I asked for advice on what strings I should try from the very kind and helpful staff and went with their suggestion. When I picked up the guitar, I could not believe the amount of work that was clearly done. The fretboard looked better than the day I bought the guitar and I could immediately tell as I strummed it that I had left it in the hands of a professional. Money well spent at a fantastic guitar shop.
Nathan Gentry: I called Twin Town from beautiful, sunny Florida and spoke with AJ. I was all like “the internet said you guys have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. Is that true?” And AJ was all like “I believe we do have one of those but let me go look. Do you mind if I put you on a brief hold?” And I was like, “of course not”. So I waited on hold briefly while AJ ran to check and make sure Twin Town did in fact have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. I was concerned AJ would come back and tell me that no such guitar existed in his store. But when he came back to the phone he was all like “I do have one of those in stock”, so I bought it. AJ and the gang shipped my guitar out FAST too. I didn’t have to wait weeks to express myself through the majesty of song on my new left handed Epiphone ES 335 in vintage burst. Justin Bowling: Definitely one of the best music stores in the Twin Cities, and quite frankly one of the best I've ever been to in the country. Their selection is incredibly solid, from low priced cool stuff you've never seen before all the way up to very high end collectible vintage gear, and everything in between. Also, everyone that works here is super nice and friendly. I did a big trade with them the other day, and it was the easiest trade I have ever done. They are very transparent in how they work with trades. They look at the average sale price, and you get 70% of that. It's so close I was able to roughly gauge what my trade in would be, and then put together what I wanted to trade it in for before coming in and I was able to walk out with everything I wanted. Also, that 70/30 split on trade in's is by FAR the fairest and best trade value I have ever seen at a shop. It makes it worth it to just go here rather than sell online as the difference in what you get isn't really all that much compared to selling it yourself after you factor in the time it takes to sell an item online and the shipping costs.This place is definitely a 5 star shop. There's a reason it's been around and continues to be well known.

Thaddeus Austin: Absolutely wonderful guitar store, I've been going to the Saint Paul location for years. They give a good price on used gear and have outstanding deals on the guitars they sell. Their inventory on the website is worth watching because they sometimes get really unusual and rare gear and sell it at a really great price. The owners are great people, super honest and friendly, and nobody there has attitude like some of the "boutique" guitar stores in town. This is what a guitar store should be... and they don't just sell guitars! If you're a parent needing gear for your kid, also a great place to go.

Check out the "Silvertone" electric guitars they have. Didn't Sears Roebuck carry that brand like a million years ago.

Other than that small issue, very prompt, and friendly, give them a shot we need more neighborhood shops like this.

Eapen Chacko: We walked in with a twenty year old Fender mandolin, which had been abandoned in our church choir room; we wanted to repair what we had to in order to donate it to a musician or student who needed an instrument. The owner quickly connected it to an amp and ascertained its wiring was fine. He looked at the strings and said that we should reset the action. This adjustment would be at the bridge and was not an issue of the neck, so this too was good. We left in good hands and look forward to picking it up soon, and the cost was very reasonable. The store is a rare treasure trove of CDs all for $3 apiece. I walked out with two rare CDs featuring Clarence White and the Kentucky Colonels! Banjos and acoustic guitars are on the wall. If you're looking for an instrument or for an adjustment/repair, this is the place. Nice ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
