4worldlovers: Matt’s Bar & Grill, now a Minneapolis landmark, began in 1954 as a neighborhood burger eatery. Shortly after we opened, founder Matt Bristol explains how the “Jucy Lucy” was created when a local customer asked for two hamburger patties with a slice of cheese in the middle. Upon biting into this new, molten hot burger, he exclaimed “that’s one juicy Lucy”, and a legend was born. Customer demand grew so quickly, we forgot to add the “i” and the “Jucy Lucy” has now become a local culinary hero. Remember, if it’s spelled correctly, you just might be eating a shameless ripoff!

Our next Wine Dinner focuses on Germany! Our Sommelier, Dave will be joined by Amy Waller of German Wine Collection to discuss what makes German wine great and why you shouldn’t knock Riesling. The menu will be primarily focused on German fare, with the expectation of a couple dishes added to show off the wine. It’s a Sommelier designed experience, with some chefs lending their expertise. You’ll leave with a new appreciation for German wine and maybe a new favorite pairing.

We are a group of culinary innovators and event curators passionate about hospitality. Travail Kitchen and Amusements is led by chef-owners and James Beard semi-finalists Mike Brown, Bob Gerken, and James Winberg in downtown Robbinsdale, Minnesota. The restaurant showcases a beautiful dining room with seating for 300+ guests, a white Carrara Market Table and multiple private dining rooms seating up to 150. Differentiated menus are offered for all dayparts including lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and group dining, plus full-service catering and contactless takeout and delivery options.

We offer valet parking every day from 5:00 pm until close for $15. Valet parking is temporarily available at the 7th street entrance to the mall, while Hennepin Ave is under construction.
