MELP provides English as a Second Language (ESL) courses that can help non-native English speakers develop their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. The International Spanish Language Academy (ISLA) is a tuition-free, K-6 elementary school that combines full Spanish immersion with an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School education.

ISLA is one of only two elementary schools in Minnesota offering both full language immersion and an International Baccalaureate World School education. Strong language acquisition and international-mindedness are hallmarks of an ISLA education. ISLA's model of full language immersion have the greatest success in terms of foreign language development.
