Rayito de Sol is an early education program founded in 2003 by Luisa Fuentes. Ms. Fuentes is an entrepreneur, educator, and cultural leader in the BIPOC community. Our mission is to transform traditional childcare and early education. We specialize in a Spanish Immersion curriculum, meaning our teachers and staff speak and teach in Spanish 100% of the time. As your child transitions out of the toddler room, our preschool program provides them with more structure in small class sizes for optimal hands-on instruction.

This program is focused on preparing your child for kindergarten. We provide structured yet fun academic activities with school readiness on the horizon.

The International Spanish Language Academy (ISLA) is a tuition-free, K-6 elementary school that combines full Spanish immersion with an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School education.

ISLA is one of only two elementary schools in Minnesota offering both full language immersion and an International Baccalaureate World School education. Strong language acquisition and international-mindedness are hallmarks of an ISLA education. ISLA's model of full language immersion have the greatest success in terms of foreign language development.

ISLA extends its combination of language immersion and IB curriculum to El Nido, a fee-based pre-k program that nurtures and prepares early learners for kindergarten. El Nido de ISLA is one of the only pre-k programs in Minnesota to offer both full Spanish immersion and an International Baccalaureate Early Years Programme.

Language is planted by the caregiver, and it is tended and nurtured organically. That is, the words that pass between a parent and a child are relevant in that moment. We don’t teach you how to memorize vocabulary; rather, we help you to internalize concepts, structures and vocabulary. It is not about putting Spanish words into English thoughts; but rather, learning how to see the world from the perspective of a Spanish speaker.

In-person or virtual Spanish classes are taught by native speakers while in their home country. Class size is limited to 6 students so that every participant has the opportunity to engage fully. Classes are conducted via Zoom.

Tutoring is an intensive program custom designed to accommodate your schedule, language goals and learning style.

Beginning July 12, 2023, we are offering Spanish conversation practice for high school age students. The emphasis is in speaking, not grammar. "If you can say it - you can write it".
