Salika Pao: I let my dog run around. It's a great place to visit.

Raquel Strickland: Lovely routes, clearly labeled by mile length

Abdi Ahmed: I was wondering do people drink the spring water

Mill Ruins Park: what do users think?

Nick DiColandrea: Wonderful views! It’s under construction right now but still very cool!

Drew King: beautiful views of the city and of historic landmarks.

Calvin Johnson 3: I love, beautiful views of the city

Akshaya Bhagavathula: During a recent exploration of Minneapolis's rich historical landscape, I visited Mill Ruins Park, a site that beautifully intertwines the city’s industrial past with its vibrant present. Nestled along the Mississippi River, this park offers a unique glimpse into the 19th-century mills that once were the heartbeat of Minneapolis. The park is a fascinating mix of historical ruins and modern architecture, where weathered stone walls and remnants of old mills stand against a backdrop of the city skyline. Walking through Mill Ruins Park, I felt as though I was stepping back in time. Informational plaques scattered throughout the area provide a wealth of knowledge about the flour mills that once dominated the area and played a pivotal role in the city's development. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to walk along the river and enjoy the scenic views of St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge. The sound of rushing water and the sight of the falls added a dynamic element to the tranquil historical exploration. It’s a photographer’s delight and a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a bit of nature in the urban setting. The park is very accessible, with well-maintained pathways that make it easy to explore the ruins and riverfront. Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or simply looking for a picturesque place to unwind, Mill Ruins Park offers something for everyone. The blend of history, nature, and urban scenery makes it a must-visit location in Minneapolis. My visit to Mill Ruins Park was not only educational but also incredibly inspiring. It provided a profound sense of connection to the city's past, making it one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Minneapolis.

Robertson Souza: Nice place.Dog-friendliness: Dog-friendless are...

John Swanke: A must do place for beautiful pictures of the city, especially at night with the skyscrapers lit up...

Joshua Theis: Great park by the river sweet agates down by the river

John Baxter: Nice area.

Mary Farrell: Lots of trails, river views, and a couple of different playgrounds, including a very natural one near the interpretive center.

Dorie Wicklund: We love it here. Have been visiting here since they built it 15 years ago!

Vivian K: Cook, quiet, peaceful. My first bike ride. I bought it last year. Needs adjustments. Rode it anyways.

Kristen Mac: Great place for a walk by yourself or with your pet.

Susan Ramlet: Went to a great "walk and talk" today as part of the Great Northern Festival. Learned a lot about the history of this park and how it came about. What a treasure in the cities and in the neighborhood. A gift for the natural environment and all the flora and fauna that rely on the river. The naturalist was well educated and engaging. The visitors' center is a nice educational space.Playground: There are at least a couple of playgrounds in the park. One is natural by the visitor center, and the other is a large structure near the picnic space.Restrooms: Nice restrooms inside the visitors' center.

Natalia Davis: It's a big park with fun equipment for all ages. Nice scenery except for the homeless camp under the pavilion The splash pad/wading pool is open in the summer and a great place to cool off. You can tell it's old/worn out but it still works. Three Rivers takes good care of its parks and trails.

Gary Berg: I lime to take walks on the paths there

NELLHY BASALDÚ (Wûêrîîttâ): Enjoying my favorite season of the year 🍂❤️

gandham bhavani: September isn’t the right time to visit as the water has dried up. June and july would be appropriate months to enjoy the water falls

Hard Rocker: This is a very famous and popular attraction in Minnesota. There are many people going there to visit and walk around. There are two completely different areas there. One is for walking towards waterfalls and rivers. In the other area, people have set up many sheds and some businesses. They sell art, and some businesses sell drinks or specialty food. It’s a good place to spend your time.

Rich Flynn: Awesome!!!

Kelly Fischer: Played disc golf with my son

Greg Zillgitt: My experience of this park is only from the parking lot where Godfrey Parkway becomes West River Road along the river, under the Ford Bridge, and on to Lock & Dam #1. Looking forward to the observation deck opening on the local & dam.Hope you enjoy the pictures - if you do please give them a "like".

Mississippi National River and Recreation Area: what do users think?

Brenda Shockey: Only have experienced the Omni Theater and it was pretty cool.

Andy Smith: The visitor center itself is really nice and has lots of information. There is a short walk down to the river, but the park here is no what I would call a recreation park. If you are exploring other parts of the MNR&RA then this is somewhere to visit as it has all the info about the park and the various sections and how to get to them. Its co-located with the science museum which is well worth a visit.

Rodney Tholen: Fun spot inside the Minnesota Science Museum building. No ticket needed.

Richard Erickson: Nice visitor center that is part of a large museum.

Cam Kay: The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Visitors Center is Awesome. Great Staff and tons of information. Check it out!

Amelia Liu: Nice little exhibit!

Edgar Ramirez: Parking is hard but man what a view!

Leira Snewo: First, the pictures arent the greatest of representation of this museum. In fact these pictures are extremely underwhelming. But to my main point of business. Anyone have a kid that is a PAIN to take anywhere? Or am I the only one? Everywhere I go, this kid just complains about everything & honestly, it's a drag. Nothing makes this kid happy. NOTHING. So after 5 minutes of forcing this kid into the museum, she ended up BEGGING me to not leave. She's a pre-teen btw. That's really important to add because I think the Childrens museum in Boston & Chattanooga are AMAZING. But those are great for tiny kids. MNR is great for kids of all ages, even those who are too cool for school.MNR is 3 stories of educational fun. On the first floor, they have an amazing store, a cafe

Cory Walaitis: Fun place to check out. The floor being a birds eye view of the Twin Cities. Cool to pop in if you're already going to the museum.

Andy Jopling: Cool interactive exhibits.

Daniel J: Looked great, lots of exhibits and informative!

Van Wilder: Prepare to be captivated by the allure of the mighty Mississippi River as you embark on an unforgettable adventure through the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply seeking a serene escape from city life, this national treasure promises to leave you with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for the river's significance. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, spanning over 72 miles through Minnesota, is a haven of natural beauty and cultural heritage. From its humble beginnings at Lake Itasca to its grandeur as it flows through the Twin Cities and beyond, the Mississippi River offers a diverse range of experiences to suit every visitor's desires. One of the highlights of this area is the abundance of recreational opportunities available. Hiking and biking trails wind along the riverbanks, offering picturesque views of the waterway and its surrounding landscapes. You can paddle your way through the gentle currents, immersing yourself in the tranquility of the river. The fishing opportunities are bountiful, providing a chance to catch a variety of fish species.History comes alive within the park's boundaries, and history enthusiasts will find themselves enchanted by the stories of early explorers, Native American cultures, and the region's industrial past. Don't miss the chance to explore the restored historic sites, visitor centers, and interpretive exhibits that offer insights into the river's role in shaping the nation's history and culture. For urban explorers, the section of the river flowing through the Twin Cities provides a unique blend of natural beauty and metropolitan allure. Iconic landmarks such as the Stone Arch Bridge and St. Anthony Falls offer breathtaking views of the river and the city skyline, making it a photographer's paradise. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area also boast abundant wildlife. Birdwatchers will delight in spotting a wide array of avian species, including bald eagles soaring above the river. Keep an eye out for playful river otters and elusive deer that call this area home.

Boom Island Park: what do users think?

Linda Novitt: Beautiful place so close to downtown

Sarah Survance: Very pretty park with a view of the skyline. In the springtime, there are lots of flowering trees which makes this an especially nice place to walk or picnic.

Vennamaneni Arpitha: Park with downtown views, picnic spot in downtownPlayground: Has play area for kids.Picnic area: Picnic spot in downtown, has good walking and cycling trails.

Akshaya Bhagavathula: As I explored the park, I was impressed by its well-kept facilities and variety of recreational options. The park features a boat dock, which makes it a popular launching point for boating and kayaking. Watching boats glide by on the river was a peaceful way to spend the afternoon, and the gentle sounds of the water added to the serene atmosphere. For those who prefer staying on land, the walking and biking trails are excellent for getting some exercise while enjoying the scenery. I took a leisurely walk along the trails and found several quiet spots perfect for sitting and enjoying the view, or even cracking open a book. One of the highlights of my visit was the picnic area, where I enjoyed a relaxed meal with a view. The picnic facilities are well-maintained, making it easy to spend several hours at the park without needing to leave for food or other necessities.Overall, Boom Island Park struck me as a fantastic spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without actually leaving it. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational facilities, and stunning views makes it a must-visit park in Minneapolis. Whether you're looking for an active day out or a tranquil place to unwind, Boom Island Park offers something for everyone.

Olivia Gorial: I ran the Hot Chocolate 15k which started and finished at the Park. It was 9.3 miles in the Mills District area. Just a beautiful run along the river! What struck me the most was no trash in the streets or on the course. Even the runners here are mindful and polite. The best part was catching photos of the waterfalls and all the bridges. Seeing people out with their family and dogs was so refreshing too!

Corey Chapman: Nice Park with great views of downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River.

Gluek Park: what do users think?

Quinn Kelley: Cool park by the river, the trees with the cool branches are so awesome and fun to climb. I'm glad they cleared most of the brush so that you can actually see the river and enjoy the unique trees!

David Langenberger: The ice gulchers were absolutely cool

Janelle Bey: Enjoyed the scenery

Jay Lobeezy: Nice park with parking for about 5 cars, so if you're there early it's a great place

Lydia: This park's location is decent, and parking is available in the small lot in the park, or on the street. The park is nestled between local restaurants and Psycho Suzy's Pub. My team does a local ruck / hike around this area, and we have always felt very safe.

Tony Sandvig: Great little park to enjoy a long lunch break. I brought my dog to work with me and we stopped here for a bite and a sniff. I sorta wish they could trim the trees along the river a bit. I like all the industrial happenings on the other side. Thats what i do!!

Jess Jay: Nice park

Darcy Running: Beautiful in late afternoon as it's the sunniest.

Tom Mulvihill: Nice little place parking was kind of hard to find
