Day Block Event Center: what do users think?

Elisabeth Clemans: We just got married at Day Block and it was wonderful. Chris and Jeff are nice and professional. The space is absolutely gorgeous and they were so accommodating to our plans and set up. Our bartender for the night, Jessica, was wonderful and personable! I definitely recommend Day Block for your wedding or event!

Kelly Duncan: Day Block was the perfect venue for my daughters wedding. The space is just beautiful and was exactly what we were hoping for - the decorations fit perfectly. Chris was very accommodating and responsive. It was all so wonderful and magical - the memories we have are priceless.

Ty Ebert: Like most people sharing here, I was at the venue for a wedding. I moved out of downtown before this opened a while back and had only been downstairs for the pizza and music. The event spaces was well put together and appropriately sized for a 100 to 125 person wedding. There was room to get away from the dancing and chill on the balcony facing US Bank Stadium. As it happens, there was live music in the restaurant patio itself and we got to enjoy that too!The food was good and the staff seemed very responsive to moving tables around when it came time to dance and cleaning up the occasional spilled drink.

Laura Guzman: We used Day Block for our ceremony, reception, and used their bar services. We picked them primarily because they had an open catering and bar policy and the space is really naturally beautiful. Brittany was our main point of contact and she was responsive to our questions and helped us figure out different options to help the day go smoothly. We ended up renting their first floor auxiliary taproom to move people downstairs during dinner for a cocktail hour and it worked great! It was also really nice that they had tables and chairs we could use for free. The space is beautiful and much more affordable than similar spaces in Minneapolis. We did hire a day-of coordinator to help manage a lot of the details of the day and would recommend others do the same. Also, we were so glad we used their bar services! The selection was great and well priced and the bar tenders managed our rowdy crowd well!

Ashli Theis: Day Block provides a very “hands off” experience, which is what we were looking for. We were able to bring in our own caterer and bar and that saved us a lot of money. It is a stunning space and they allow you to make it your own. We were sold on all of its natural elements: brick walls, hardwood floors and natural lighting. We had about 125 guests and we all fit pretty comfortably. Their event manager Brittany was really lovely to work with – she was kind and quick to respond to all of our questions. Ethan, the person we worked with on the day of, was very helpful with all of our needs.

Celisia Stanton: I am the owner of Celisia Stanton Photography, and one of my clients held their intimate wedding at The Neu Neu. The Neu Neu is a fantastic venue!! The getting-ready rooms have huge windows with tons of natural light, allowing us to capture indoor photos without struggling with awkward shadows or uneven lighting. The ceremony and reception took place in the same room, and the exposed brick and wood detailing provided the perfect backdrop for a moody, intimate celebration. My clients also made full use of The Neu Neu's outside space by setting up a badminton court, hiring the Style Society to provide an outdoor lounge area, and providing a Revere food truck for their guests to enjoy. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are beautiful, and I'd highly recommend The Neu Neu to anyone looking for a great venue in the heart of Minneapolis.

Chelsey: Our guest list ended up being a little larger than we originally anticipated, but Kitty and team were there to help us figure out a layout that ended up working perfectly. We received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. Our bridal party also adored the Natural Light Studio & the 3rd St. Studio. Amy Lowry: It's a beautiful venue. They lay out is eclectic and interesting. I did not get to stay very long at the event so did not get a feel for the transition from wedding to reception. There is a coffee shop attached which is amazing to me!

Stephen Anderson: One of my favorite venues to perform at! I’m a DJ with Complete Weddings and Events and whenever I’ve had an event here I’ve found the staff to be incredibly on top of it and flexible, and it’s a gorgeous space.

We had 155 people and it was spacious for everyone. We truly could not have had such of a great wedding without Victoria, the venue coordinator. She was responsive and quick to answer all my questions! She went above beyond in every single aspect of the day. Anyone would be so lucky to have her there for their special day!

Local bands, djs and drag performers that are lined up to perform are local top talent. One of Minneapolis pride weekend best kept secret.

Demetra Williamson: The space has a main and second floor. There were big windows that let a lot of natural light it which was nice. They had family style restrooms upstairs and a men and womens on the main floor. There was a bar/sink area in the middle of the front of the upstairs area which could be great, unfortunately for the event I went to the middle bar made it a bit difficult for people on the other side of the room to seem what was going on. Overall great and I loved the giant mirror they had on the stair case landing.

I recently took part in a fashion show hosted at FIVE Event Center, and I was blown away by the beautiful space, the atmosphere they created there, and their wonderful venue manager Victoria. I was having so much fun upstairs that I actually forgot to even visit the Wine Grotto!Beyond the venue itself, the incredible coordinator, Katherine Bailey, makes the entire process so smooth and enjoyable. Katherine is the best! She is incredibly helpful and responsive, and I am so grateful to have had her on my team.I will always remember this place so fondly. It can be difficult to find a mansion venue that doesn't feel broken up into rooms that split up the guests, but Semple Mansion has the perfect layouts & flow for both ceremony and reception needs. It's easy to spend the entire day there and not feel like you need a change of scene. It was also super convenient to utilize the high-quality vendors that are already based within Semple Mansion. Guest parking is no problem, the ballroom is stunning, and we also loved that we could utilize the grand piano for live music during our ceremony. We couldn't dream of a better wedding venue.

S Kruger: Attended a wedding here and it was a nice place. The decor surprisingly light and sparkly, they really went heavy with the reflective surfaces. The bar was well stocked, and run. The food, which was Italian, was good and plentiful. The ceremony and reception took place in the same room and the set-up of the reception didn't take too long. My only criticisms would be the chairs were very uncomfortable by the end of the wedding and the decorative drapes were so dirty they were gray. They need to be taken down and washed. Seriously, take the time.

Ari Reynolds Photography: Talk about a space that you can use for any event from a bridal show, dinner party and even a wedding! I cannot get over how wonderful Chris and his team are! You will have to check it out for yourself!

Gisela Soto: I have worked with Chris the owner, a few times, and I can say it's a pleasure working with him each and every time! He has the most vibrant energy and you are immediately greeted with a big smile as soon as he sees you! He goes above and beyond to make sure everything is PERFECT for your event, and his willingness to help with everything and accommodate to your preference makes it even better! The space also has so many different amenities to be able to personalize the space, including kitchen space and custom LED lights! Definitely love working at this space, and recommend it to anyone looking for a space to host your special event!

Sarah Hovseth: We hosted our nonprofit staff retreat at The APT and it was fabulous! Chris was so great to work with and with only one week notice. We kept the space set up lounge/living room style and it worked really well with our group of about 15. Everyone felt super comfortable and at ease and very much felt like we were hanging out at someone's home but without the stress of hosting. We will definitely be booking more events here!

ChrissyBZGirl: I was having a heck of a time finding a smaller space for a more intimate gathering at a reasonable price so I was ecstatic to find the Apt. it was just right for the 15 or so people that were there. Chris offers a great space and service and at a descent price. I’m impressed by the custom lightening, Bluetooth music and connected speaker. Dishes were provided and we didn’t even have to wash them! Highly recommend for a small, unique event.

Jenna Scattarelli: We just recently got married at Van Dusen Mansion and had the absolute best wedding in the world! The venue is stunning with so much character and historic charm that it made us truly feel like it was a one in a million kind of venue. Our wedding was seamless with how it was laid out where the entire day is at one location moving from the mansion, ballroom, courtyard and carriage house. The best part was the team who was there for you every step of the way. When we inquired, we worked with Jenna Zamjahn in the beginning of planning stages, and we connected with her instantly where she felt like an old, trusted friend. Jenna is super knowledgeable, helpful, and just an absolute joy to work with that we knew that this was the place for our big day. Once we decided on the venue, we worked with the wedding coordinator, Monica Sanger and because of her, it was a seamless process. Monica is the best at what she does. She goes above and beyond and made us feel like her top priority, super attentive and always there for us if we needed help. Her strong work ethic, eye-to-detail, compassionate heart are what make her stand out. We are forever grateful for having to work with Jenna and Monica and the whole VDM team for our special day. If it wasn’t for them, none of it was possible. This venue and the people are truly one of a kind and anyone would be lucky to have their wedding here!

When our company emerged as a spinoff with just over a hundred employees, our need for a physical workspace was imminent. Despite our proficiency in remote work, the necessity for a hub for collaboration and meetings was undeniable.Exploring various options, including sporadic expenditures on local hotels, we realized a coworking space would be an effective and more affordable solution. Thus, our journey intertwined with Coco, formerly known as Fueled Collective, situated within the historic Minneapolis Grain Exchange, guided by CEO Colleen Moselle and her dedicated team.Coco provides an elevated level of service and member support, akin to having additional invaluable team members at no extra expense. We leased a private space and additional rooms as needed for larger team activities. The historic trading floor, with its grandeur and spaciousness, is the perfect common space that allows teams and individuals from various companies to work among one another without being on top of one another. And you can rent it after hours for spectacular company events. A number of our employees enjoyed working at the NE location as well and brought their dogs, a unique benefit to this space. Basic amenities such as coffee and printing were seamlessly provided, with a perpetual smile accompanying every assistance, from package interception to event setup.The Coco team's dedication was exemplary, so much that when we did move on, we wanted to take them all with us. In our final days, several of my coworkers made it a point to spend time working on the trading floor as it is bittersweet to leave it behind.While we are all excited about our new space, we will miss being at Coco and I encourage anyone looking for a coworking space to give Coco serious consideration.

Dale Regnier: Fantastic Experience with Coco Downtown. Close to home, easy access through Skyway and a comfortable working environment. Staff, like Samantha Bower, are super supportive, friendly, and accommodating. Needed extra space for a team meeting downtown in December with several team members flying in. Samantha was helpful getting the space reserved, ensured we had coffee and water, and made the entire experience delightful. Highly recommend this co-working space. The space is great, but the staff make it that much more enjoyable to be working here.

All the venders recommended did a fantastic job as well as the event coordinator. It truly was magical. It’s also really customizable to make your dream wedding vision come to life!Working with Kaira on the details for our wedding was also great! She was very helpful and responsive. I came to the walkthrough that we did about a month before the wedding with a ton of questions, and she answered them all before I could even ask! It was such a smooth, easy process on our end. We also loved that security was included, so we didn’t have to worry about anything!The venue is so beautiful for a winter wedding, very cozy but still spacious. We took a lot of photos outside, and it looked so beautiful with a little bit of snow on the ground! We also loved the mural on the side of the building for photos.We had our ceremony and reception in the ballroom, and the room flip during cocktail hour was totally seamless. We had a bar on the main floor and on the second floor during our cocktail hour, which was so nice to have more space for our guests and shorter lines for them to get drinks.We got so many comments from our guests on what a beautiful venue it was, and we were very happy with our choice to get married at The Blaisdell! Thank you Kaira, Janet, and Blaisdell staff for everything!!

Katie Griffith: We had our wedding at The Blaisdell and it was perfect! We had a headcount of around 140 and it was the perfect space for us. It allows for you to have the entire day in one space which is so convenient. There is a parking lot across the street for guests to utilize, in addition to street parking. We even had a live band, and there was plenty of space for that. The staff at The Blaisdell were so great and we truly enjoyed everything about the space. The space has a lot of charm on the inside, while allowing you to add your own decor and style to the space. The bridal suite was perfect too, and the wedding party really appreciated having that as a place to relax and spend the day. Would highly recommend this space! It is a hidden gem and so beautiful.

Meghan Finley: This is an absolutely incredible venue! Janet did an amazing job answering all of our questions and helping us imagine what our wedding could look like if we booked the venue. When she told us we could also hire Kaira as a day of coordinator - we knew immediately it was the right way to go. Kaira was instrumental in helping our day be as amazing as it was. If you book this venue, I HIGHLY recommend hiring Kaira as well - it was the best decision we made.

Terri St. Arnauld: For me, it was an excellent experience. Those with mobility issues might find it a little challenging if the main room needs to be emptied and re-arranged. I believe that entrance is in the back and I didn't see seating in the front area where we all waited.

The venue was perfect for our wedding and the front courtyard was amazing for our cocktail hour. The only reason I didn't give 5/5 stars is because the day-of venue coordinator was not helpful. The tall ceilings, the modern vibe with so many beautiful features including the garage doors and windows. The space is stunning and truly you can make it your own or keep it super simple. The fact that it's attached to a coffee shop is very convenient and we would recommend this place to anyone looking for an amazing space to hold their urban wedding in Minneapolis.
