Mandy Beardsley: I used the email feature to ask for advice on an apartment security deposit issue and received a response same day from attorney, Samuel Spaid. He was incredibly helpful and emailed back and forth with me over the next few days answering all of my questions. Because of him, I was able to discover the landlord I was about to rent from actually had taken a pre-lease deposit and broken the law by not following requirements. Even though the landlord said it was non-refundable, I was able to back out and get it refunded by quoting the MN Statute that Samuel gave me. Everybody else in this area won’t touch it for under $1500 if they want to talk to you at all which most of them 99% of them just want to protect the landlord, and only care about the landlord, not the tenant.
