4worldlovers: Palace Theatre, the live music and event venue in downtown Saint Paul, is partnering with the crew behind Wrecktangle Pizza to present a new concept, Wrestaurant at the Palace.

Concertgoers, residents, and the downtown Saint Paul workforce can look forward to a new neighborhood eatery. Palace Theatre, which is co-operated by First Avenue and Jam Productions, selected notable GMA’s Ultimate Pizza innovators, Wrecktangle Pizza, to develop this all-new dining destination.

Wrestaurant at the Palace offers classic Wrecktangle pizzas, sandwiches, and slices while introducing new dishes and a distinctive cocktail menu. A slice window features quick order and grab-and-go items, and the full-service dine-in restaurant and 40-seat bar highlights Wrestaurant at the Palace’s full menu.

Since 1970, First Avenue has grown to include several unique venues throughout Minneapolis & St. Paul.

Guitar luminary + Tuareg folk hero Omara “Bombino” Moctar returns to The Cedar stage! On September 13th, two days before the release of his new album via Partisan Records: "Sahel."

‘Sahel’ takes its name from the vast African region spanning East-West from the Atlantic Ocean to the Red Sea, and is the highly anticipated follow-up to his 2018 album Deran,’ which turned Bombino into the first-ever Grammy-nominated artist from Niger.


In performance and on this new release, Bombino plays with sparks-spraying guitar pyrotechnics, punctuated by howling ululations.It's a plea for unity and solidarity across the Sahel, delivered in his native Tamasheq. “Let's defend our people because we are the same regardless of our geographical position,” he sings while shouting out the Tuareg people throughout the region.

The Cedar joins the Walker Art Center in co-presenting the Minnesota debut of Alabaster dePlume.

Coming from the red-hot London jazz/new music scene, dePlume presents an evening of tender and spare songs filled with existential comedy and spiritual enlightenment.

Maggie’s Wednesdays consists of casual entertainment offered outside our usual listening environment of ticketed concerts. Various entertainers appear in the lounge from 6:30-8:30pm. There are no tickets, but tips are encouraged. You may sign up for the guest list, but space is not reserved. Seating is first come, first served in the bar and at lounge tables.

4worldlovers: Now in its fifth year, Hennepin Theatre Trust is proud to feature a new cohort of local photographers to capture this vibrancy and display it in larger-than-life portraits that will join existing murals and public art projects within the District.

Since 1958 Brave New Workshop has been serving up champagne in a red, plastic cup as the people’s theater for the Twin Cities. Come join the party that has been making people laugh and think for over six decades, spawning the careers of legends who reshaped our nation’s media landscape by helping to create everything from Saturday Night Live to The Naked Gun to That 70s Show to True Blood. This is a rare opportunity to see a collection of what makes Brave New Workshop a Minnesota treasure.

We had the chance to sit down with Todd Duesing, incoming president and CEO of Hennepin Theatre Trust, to get to know him a little bit as he takes the reins at the Trust.

The Hennepin Theater District was the second largest Vaudeville circuit in the country during the first half of the 20th century. An exhibition of historic photos celebrates all those who contributed to this exciting era of Hennepin Avenue’s history.

The Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on charitable contributions from our community. Thanks to our supporters, we are able to instill confidence and community connection in more than 6,000 students statewide through our arts education programs, elevate and financially support the creative works of local artists and provide meaningful arts and cultural experiences to the more than 600,000 people we bring to the Hennepin Theatre District annually.
