Kitsune Karate: what do users think?

Jacqueline Leach: My son was hooked from his first class, the instructors are great at keeping things moving while being both motivating and encouraging. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Scott Gregg: Kitsune Karate has been my home dojo for five years. The instructors are extremely knowledge and motivating. The kids program is fun and produces very good athletes. The adult program focuses on the "art" of traditional karate, with an emphasis on real world self-defence applications. Kitsune is a Shotokan karate school that strives to maintain tradition, but also explore innovation. As such, we regularly welcome students of other schools and styles.

Stuart Hazard: without foregoing the discipline and formality that many seek from the martial arts and that promote safety and learning. My favorite characteristic, however, is that at Kitsune we are encouraged to learn from anyone who has something of value to teach.

Mjoe T: because of the high quality instruction they receive at Kitsune. I know this will be a life long endeavor for my son. If keeping your mind focused and your body in shape; and if you have a desire to learn many, very good self defense tactics and Katas

Cynthia Haakana: ! Shotokan karate is taught by Amy and Scott and they are fantastic instructors. As a 4th degree black belt, I have had many teachers and they are superb—-professional, supportive, and encouraging! They accommodate and adapt to the needs of their students making it an exceptional place to improve in the art of karate and get a wonderful work out. The environment is caring and positive. I cannot say enough positive statements about Kitsune Karate!

Jen Cash: I can’t say enough about Kitsune Karate. The dojo is run as a non-profit organization so it can offer classes at affordable rates, not like the for-profit dojos that make you commit to expensive long-term contracts. They have great programming for kids as well as adults. The approach is low key, non-violent, and emphasizes the skill and art of traditional Shotokan Karate. They focus on building physical and mental strength, self-confidence, and respect for self and others rather than placing emphasis on getting the next level belt. At Kitsune, students are taught the fundamentals of Karate with the correct form and precision which helps them learn, grow, perform, and compete without injury. Being at Kitsune, learning from Scott and Amy, and making good friends has been hands down one of the best experiences for my child!

Josh Hill: Excellent place for kids and adults!

David Cross: All the other 5-star reviews are true. This place is the antithesis of "strip mall Karate" joints. It's authentic without being pretentious. There is no nickel-and-dime behavior. Their children's programs are excellent, focused on fun & form over advancement & cutthroat competition.

Ashley Ross: Kitsune is a fantastic place to learn traditional shotokan karate. Scott and Amy are extremely knowledgeable about their art and they help their students bring out their best.

Sari Sanchez: There are so many wonderful things to say about this dojo! The instructors Scott, Amy, Marti, Ashley and Sara are top notch. They are amazing with children and teach in such a fun manner and have incredible skills. They offer the kids so many wonderful opportunities like doing competitions, demonstrations at public events and most importantly, discipline. Price is affordable, times of class works great with after school and weekends.

Andrea Carbon: A world class traditional school of karate do taught by instructors with a strong Japanese trained background of very high national and international reputation. If you want the best of karate in the Twin Cities, this is it!

Emily Sowell: We love kitsune. The staff is dedicated, welcoming and kind. The students work cooperatively to get stronger and better. Affordable and flexiable scheduling.

Kaiseki Furukawa: what do users think?

Chris Wardwell: I was fortunate enough to experience the Tuesday night 10 course kaiseki seasonal tasting menu. Each course was beautifully presented and expressed authentic Japanese flavors and textures that reflected the spring season. The staff were attentive and accommodating. For example, noticing that my wife was left handed the staff set up her table setting to reflect that. That has happened to her only one other time. A small thing for sure, but reflective of the care and attention to detail that was put into everything. Kaiseki Furukawa provides an elegant dining experience from the dinnerware to interior design. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Alan Bates: It is hard to put into words the amazing experience that we had here at Kaiseki Furukawa in Minneapolis. This was the single best meal we have ever had in our lives. It was an honor to dine with Shigeyuki Furukawa and his team. Our minds were blown by the quality of ingredients and the thought and care that went into the design of each item on the 10+ course menu. We also had a sake pairing that added another element throughout. This restaurant is truly a world class gem and we are lucky to have it here here in Twin Cities.

Blake Schmidt: and specially printed menus. We have been doing Kado downstairs, but came upstairs for this. Very, very good.5th Edit: Another Valentine’s Day!

Alisha: My first kaiseki I’ve ever done and I was blown away. The quality of the service and ingredients are top notch. Very worth it.

Blake Nhul: .I've been to some nice places around here but this was truly a different experience that I don't think I could get anywhere around here. Chef Furukawa, thank you for the meal and I look forward to taking my Grandma here one day 🙂.

Robert Wohlfeil: Such an amazing experience, both with the chefs and service, as well as with our fellow diners. I couldn't have asked for a more intimate yet communal dining adventure.

Tari Jung: Been to kaiseki multiple times and it's always been an utmost pleasure. It's a wholesome experience you will find nowhere else.

Quyen Tang: A delicious experience with amazing drink pairings.Dine in: Yes …

Pak Hoi Tung: Great experience, great service, great chef, great meal.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: No Delivery: No Curbside pickup: No …

Mayna Xiong: . Food was delicious and well plated. I didn't think I was going to be full from a tasting menu but by the end of it, I was surprisingly full and satisfied. The menu changes monthly as the chef uses ingredients that is in season. Expensive but well worth it. Will definitely be returning.

Jeffrey Wright: A very nice representation of what a Kaiseki dinner should look like. Not all dishes exceeded great heights - but overall Furukawa san and his team are bringing proper Japanese food to Minneapolis. The February meal is very very nice and highly recommended. They are working on some very interesting no-alcohol pairings which really hit the mark. Sounds like a work in progress but so for some pretty great offerings.I am eager to see how the team can further push themselves in 2021 and beyond. I will return again soon.Highly recommended.

Ann McGuire: This is a wonderful experience! The food, the service, the owner - all very special.

Laurel Marsh: After falling in love with kaiseki cuisine on my trips to Japan, I was overjoyed when I learned of a restaurant opening up in Minneapolis. The food is elegantly presented and the seasonal ingredients are delicious. I am fondly remembering the Hassun course for the traditional Osechi New Years foods eaten in Japan for good luck in the upcoming year. Many people might be confused by this food and the way it is presented but the way the Japanese prepare and present food is very different from Americans. Yes, it is pricey compared to most other restaurants but that is entirely due to the fact that 80% of this menu had to be imported from Japan. Authentic Japanese food is so hard to find in the Midwest and this rare gem is so appreciated. I encourage everyone to give it a try if they can and to keep an open mind. You may not love everything but I promise you will find something that will surprise and delight you!ありがとうございました、ふるかわ様。おいしいかった。ごちそうさまでした。

Vicki Tam-Anderson: Our evening at Kaiser Furukawa was perfect. Everyone on staff -- incredible, friendly, and knowledgable. The food -- thoughtful, surprising, and delicious. So much attention was given to the little details. I highly recommend having dinner here!

Kado no Mise: what do users think?

Jordan Brainard: We came for Omakase Matsu and also had the sake pairings. For two people, the highest level of omakase, a flight of paired sake, plus a couple extra orders of nigiri, we approached $500. The bill is total, there was not even a line for leaving a tip.I think this is a 5 star experience and worth the money for you if you know you already like the style of food. The other person in my party has eaten and prepared Japanese food for years and thoroughly enjoyed the entire meal, as well as the sake.On the other hand, while I consider myself an adventurous eater, and after trying everything, I found the food to be almost off putting. I would not take someone here if they don’t know what they’re in for: cold jellies, custards in warm broth, tiny whole squids, eels, obviously raw fish, etc. In other words: I don’t think this is a place you go to be introduced to the style of cuisine. The service was without reproach, best service I’ve ever had at any restaurant across any cuisine or city in this country. The service ware was also so unique. Every piece was unique, repaired with bits of gold, and traditional. Very beautiful. Everything done here is done with a high level of perfection and attention to detail.

Linda McLoon: All through the worst part of the pandemic, we tried to get take out from our favorite places. Restaurants really struggled, and it seemed important to keep the ones we loved. Kado no Mise was one of them. We just went back for a matsu table service multi course dinner. It is such a wonderful place, and the food is perfectly prepared classical Japanese food. We also opted for the sake tasting, which I highly recommend. It was really marvelous. There were many courses. We started with sakizuke, which was made of surf clam, spinach, tofu skin, and shitake mushroom. They served "wandering poet" sake with it. Sake names are the best! I won't enumerate all the many courses, but every one was perfect. We ended with a fabulous sequence of nigiri, including one topped with seared waygu. The most crazy course of the evening was fugu! Yes- the infamous puffer fish. It apparently is flown in from Japan and verified to be safe. It was interesting, for certain! The chef collects antique service ware from Japan. Each dish is served on beautiful and unique dishes. Each sake was served in a unique cup. These items are beautiful, and it feels very special eating from them. They are located at 33 North 1st Avenue in the North loop.I think it is impossible to eat here and not leave feeling calm and happy. The chef is the lovely smiling man in the bow tie. Be sure to wave!

David Wnek: Kada no Mise offers stunning food in their tucked away downtown location. Their omakase experience was delightful, featuring unique and delicate nigiri that blew us away, along with choice Japanese delicacies we've seen nowhere else.Alas, their tucked away location led to a very strange atmosphere, particularly the odd little room my wife and I were seated in. The dark room would have been atmospheric if it weren't for the bright red fire alarm and the three windows, two of which looked out to the bar and restaurant. The servers were all kind and knowledgeable, but there seemed to be a lack of coordination between them and a lack of practice on their delivery. An excellent food experience, though understand the rest of the dining experience may not reflect the pricetag.

KJ: Enjoyed omakase matsu with my daughter for our shared birthday celebration. After experiencing omakase in Japan, I have been craving that experience here. Just so happened the chef at Kado no Mise was an apprentice chef to the chef we ate with in Kyoto. Small world! Chef Furukawa made our meal at Kado no Mise memorable and served us the most delicious meal at the counter. It’s very expensive, but it’s more than just a meal. It’s a memorable, delicious experience, unlike any other place in the cities.

Kyoto Sushi: what do users think?

Andrea Lechuga: We occasionally go to Kyoto Sushi for the all-you-can-eat dinner, which is very good. However, today we decided to have a takeout Valentine's Day dinner from Kyoto Sushi, and we're so happy we did! They turned our salmon sashimi into a beautiful rose, and the rest of the sushi was delicious and made perfectly to order. I have an allergy to avocado and requested it be omitted from the order, and they made every roll perfectly. Their attention to detail made for a very delicious holiday dinner!Dietary restrictions: They are very attentive to dietary restrictions if you make them clear in the takeout order. Their accuracy was very much appreciated!

Origami Restaurant: what do users think?

Lisa R: Excellent Sushi and Japanese cuisine! The atmosphere is quaint with small personal service. Plating is beautiful and the food is so very good. Cost is average to medium. If you are in the area and looking for sushi this is the place to go.Parking: No customer parking. Will need to meter park nearby or use the apartment parking ramp at a cost.

Danielle Laveau: I've been here twice now, and it's phenomenal every time. I love the small, intimate setting. The servers are wonderful. And the food is the best part. The first time I was here, I tried some sort of shrimp fried rice dish that was the best I've ever had. This most recent time, I tried the spicy salmon rolls with a variety of negiri. Everything had so much flavor and the negiri options nearly melted in my mouth. My boyfriend tried the ramen and that was also great. On top of that, their plum wine is my guilty pleasure. It's SO GOOD. 10/10 recommend.

Allen Hage: Best sushi in the state.

Lindsey Lorentson: is one of the most delicious bites I have ever eaten. The flavors are so fresh and delicious together. The sweet heart roll was also very yummy. The Ramen was good. It is a nice spot and I am always surprised how slow they are. The parking ramp is pay to park but gives a nice option to park right at the restaurant in a city where parking to eat can be a nightmare. Overall I highly recommend and suggest you try the special if they have it when you are there!

Ammarah Sadiq: Best sushi ever!!😋 really sad you guys are closing😔

Prototypes End: Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes

Jeff Storms: Unique take on Japanese street food! Some classic tastes and some others that are different. Brings me back to Japan for sure. I highly recommend the Okinomiyaki, the Katsu Curry, and Karaage.

Shelby Cara: incredible food, the chicken karaage, crispy shrimp rice and hiroshima dish were AMAZING

Linda Reed: The food is wonderful and the service is impeccable all in all a very good experience !!!!!!!.

Kathy Owens: I had the pork dumplings and it was very good. I'm not adept at using chopsticks, though and would have liked a fork, but it was good, the place was quaint, and just a nice experience. Will go there again.

Nick Goebel: Nice place, helpful and friendly staff. Food tasted and looked excellent!Their signature cocktail was great too.

John Fillman: Just got home from PinKU. Dinner was fantastic. New manager was fantastic. Our favorite neighborhood spot for comfort food.

Kimora Willis: Edit 9/19: X, the owner of PINKU, clearly cares about the feedback he receives from customers. After noticing a negative trend in his restaurant, he took the steps to better management and workplace conditions. There aren’t many restaurant owners like this, and I would encourage anyone who leaves a bad review to make sure it can be a learning opportunity for him, because he will definitely take advantage of it. Thank you X, for being one of the few restaurant owners who strive to do better.Unhappy staff leads to unhappy customers. Food is mediocre because they are always training in new employees to replace the ones that quit. I’m glad they pay their employees well, however that isn’t enough to make them stay. PINKU should work on team effort.

Ale Yasoko: The food was perfectly seasoned. Great service and friendly staff. Definitely will go back.

Andrew Miles: and pork don buri. Everything was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back! Prices are fair for the quality of food and service.Parking: I think they have a limited lot but there is plenty of street parking nearby.

Liliya Adasevich: must order before grabbing a table .... food is quite good

Amanda Helling: .I've eaten in once and gotten takeout several times. One time we were given an incorrect dish in our takeout order and had to return to get the right food. They were quick to fix the issue and polite and easy to deal with. The onigiri combo meal is a great deal!Parking: Lots of free street parking in the area.

Bruce Taylor: This is my new favorite restaurant. The udon broth is worth five stars all by itself.Kid-friendliness: We saw many, many families arrive with little ones of all ages. The outdoor patio gives them a great place to be kids.

Sophie Krupp: The food is delicious, and the place is very nice. However, the menu is a very hard to read. There is no way to pick up a menu and hold it closer. When we shared that it was hard to read, we were told to just look it up on our phones, which actually isn’t very accessible for us either. Having a laminated printed menu with larger print would make ordering a lot more accessible.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ: what do users think?

Vivien Lee: , and no one said anything to me. No, "it'll be a few minutes but please have a seat" or even mentioning the fact that there were people waiting ahead of us. We stood awkwardly in front of them but eventually moved to the side when we realized we wouldn't be seated right away. We almost walked out after waiting 10 minutes but were called to be seated as we were about to Google another spot.

R M: Great food as you can see once she kick the shoes off u know it's good..First time I went to a restaurant where I didn't need to add any sauce which is very good btw but the meat had so much flavor I kept forgetting to use it definitely would recommend for a nice date night or you can just cook up some nice food and enjoy the atmosphere, almost forgot great drinks as well...

Athina S: Our server Hoang/Andy was awesome!!!! He was funny, nice, and attentive! He checked on us the right amount of times and made sure our waters were refilled. He also brought out my friend her birthday dessert and it was MORE THAN AMAZING. The portions you get for the four person dinner was more than enough and such a GREAT DEAL!!! Wow we were blown away at what a great experience this was. This is the ONLY legit Asian bbq place in the whole state. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had in Minneapolis! Thank you Hoang! Please give him our praises and maybe a raise? 🤣

Brooke Nelson: Had a great first visit! Extensive menu makes deciding difficult, but assures new experiences for every visit. Nice atmosphere and good service. Can’t wait to come back!

Claire Leo: The service here is always wonderful - attentive, without being pushy. Happy hour is absolutely the time to treat yourself without getting too spendy - I love that the happy hour menu has so many options; you can put together a very nice meal.

Solaris Wang: Been here 4 times just this year, it is THE spot for my sushi craving, the only comparably better place in the state is Kado no mise, that’s how good it is. The rice and vinegar balance is perfection - subtlety sweet and savory like fresh, slightly fermented grains. Soft yet never mushy. The kanpyo roll with the calabash gourd is the perfect texture with the rice, and their other offerings like pressed sushi and nigiri use a well respected seafood supplier that high end sushi places in the city use. The ramen is savory and authentic. I see complaints that the maki is small, keep in mind that they don’t have rice on the outside…California rolls originated from you guessed it, California…

Oak Druid: Reasonable happy hour with a nice variety of options. Chirashi sushi bowl was a little light on the fish with only 3 pieces, but a nice variety of pickles and such. The fish was good quality however. Great service!Service: 5/5Recommended dishes Sushi …

Dong Hae Korean Grill & Sushi: what do users think?

Shannon Toftely: We had an incredible experience hosting a KBBQ dinner at Dong Hae! From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance was lively, and the service was top-notch.We indulged in both sushi and Korean BBQ à la carte, and every dish was impeccably fresh and bursting with flavor. My only minor suggestion would be to expand their alcohol selection to offer even more options for guests to enjoy. Nonetheless, Dong Hae exceeded our expectations, providing a delightful evening filled with delectable cuisine and wonderful company. We'll definitely be returning to dive into the extensive menu!

Stacy Vang: Food was great! I went with my 2 sisters and we had 2 different servers came to check on us to make sure everything is fine and if we need anything else and they were really friendly, especially the guy server. We had kbbq, and came around 8:30ishpm, so we almost didn't finished cooking by closing time because the meat portions were very generous, but the our server tried to help us and let us know it's alright and no need to rush. Expect to bring $$$, because it's pricy but food tasted good and even the sushi were good. We got the baked california and crazy boy, teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, marinated combo, and spicy pork bulgogi.

Alexi Wells: This is a meal experience I recommend everyone try. The portions are generous, tasty, and diverse. When I say generous, I mean it, bring a friend! You're going to want that bbq or hotpot. Don't be intimidated. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Our server, Lee, made sure we had everything we needed and made recommendations based on our spice preferences. So much fun!
