Our horse was Marble and our driver was Mo. They were both very nice. We met the owner who was a very nice man. The whole experience was wonderful and I would recommend this for either something special or if you just want a unique and relaxing experience.


We did the 90 minute historic tour for our 40th wedding anniversary, and it exceeded our expectations! The carriage was very comfortable and cozy, and even though it was a chilly day (below freezing), we were bundled up warmly beneath carriage blankets. The ride was very relaxing, and our driver, Arthur, was a font of information about the history of the area.


I proposed to my fiancé on this carriage ride it was beautiful and amazing. He had no clue, and was surprised when he seen the big horse waiting for us.The horse was a joy to listen to trotting through downtown Minneapolis.

Even in the rain the carriage ride was amazing and worth the short journey around downtown. You are able to see things you’d never notice walking or driving. Doing it again this summer!

What a wonderful experience – our tour guide was fabulous, telling a little about the history of the buildings we went by, how she really enjoys her job and some history about the company. I would highly recommend taking a carriage ride. I can’t wait to do another one. Thank you!

Our horse-drawn carriages are a popular option for wedding parties when we decorate the carriage with flowers and greenery and add a “Just Married” sign. Our horses are gentle and used to music and drumming which makes them ideal for another popular event, Baraat. The horse and handler can be dressed in traditional clothing. We don’t stop at weddings, our carriages are regularly hired for proms, quinceañeras, corporate events, community parties, and funerals.

Bill has spent his career training and showing hunters and jumpers.


Bill started out competing and training in Eventing and Dressage under Max von Bluecher (owner of Fortuna Farm). In 1971, Bill went on to start his own farm, Lothlorien, in Maple Lake. It was at Lothlorian that Bill apprenticed under Mykola Pawlenko and Marianne Ludwig. The Olympic selection committee chose Bill to train with the U.S. Olympic team under Bertalan de Nemethy. Bill has also had the opportunity to ride and train in Europe. Bill has a keen eye for selecting young horses. Over the years, he has bred and raised many successful top level horses and riders. Bill has developed a system for training that is unparalleled. Many of his students have gone on to become top level riders. If you are serious about your training, Bill's program can take you where you want to go.​

Stacy was introduced to horses by her Aunt Randy when she was 3 years old and has been passionately hooked ever since!

​Stacy started Burns Lake Stables where she taught lessons, trained and rehabilitated horses and competed in Eventing (dressage, cross country and show jumping). During that time Stacy trained with several top level riders including Olympic rider Becky Holder-Douglas. Stacy and Bill joined forces and have been working side by side ever since. Stacy shows both hunters and Jumpers at all the major shows. Stacy's passion is starting young horses and teaching horsemanship to riders of all levels. Stacy believes that consistency and relaxation are paramount to the learning and training process.
