Twin Town Guitars: what do users think?

Jacob Zimmerman: Purchased an isntrument from them online. The pics were exactly of the instrument I purchased and not stock photos. Shipping was reasonable price and timing with accurate updates. Product was packaged well and the shop did a phenomenal job getting it ready to ship and plays better than I could have hoped. I hope to visit the physical location next month and thank you folks in person.

Mike Merwin: on a favorite guitar but I was hesitant to bring it in because it's not exactly a pro-level guitar and I am not exactly a studio player. I asked for advice on what strings I should try from the very kind and helpful staff and went with their suggestion. When I picked up the guitar, I could not believe the amount of work that was clearly done. The fretboard looked better than the day I bought the guitar and I could immediately tell as I strummed it that I had left it in the hands of a professional. Money well spent at a fantastic guitar shop.

Nathan Gentry: I called Twin Town from beautiful, sunny Florida and spoke with AJ. I was all like “the internet said you guys have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. Is that true?” And AJ was all like “I believe we do have one of those but let me go look. Do you mind if I put you on a brief hold?” And I was like, “of course not”. So I waited on hold briefly while AJ ran to check and make sure Twin Town did in fact have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. I was concerned AJ would come back and tell me that no such guitar existed in his store. But when he came back to the phone he was all like “I do have one of those in stock”, so I bought it. AJ and the gang shipped my guitar out FAST too. I didn’t have to wait weeks to express myself through the majesty of song on my new left handed Epiphone ES 335 in vintage burst. Needless to say, I couldn’t be any happier with Twin Town or AJ’s service.

richard traxler: Great shop, great teachers, well managed, fun place, better than the strip mall stores.

Robert Wicklander: Best guitar store I’ve ever been to. Cole was awesome in helping me get back into playing after a couple year break! Super knowledgeable and super nice. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This is where I’ll be going for anything guitar related. Thanks guys!

Josephine Morris: I got my first bass from Twin Town Guitars. I went in looking for a bass guitar, and was instantly greeted with friendly and informative staff. They have a pretty good collection, and you can pretty much find what you're looking for than if you went to a bigger store like Guitar Center. I love supporting local businesses, and this is one to definitely support!

Chris Dewar: Bought a lefty Taylor classical guitar from out of state that I couldn't find anywhere else. Haven't visited the store but had great experience and highly recommend!

Rich Rue: Great music store! 👍🎶

Kelly Cook: Great music resources

Alex Nelson: Love this store! Super helpful and welcoming. Love that they have two little "try out" rooms, where you can play guitars and pedals without worrying about bugging the people around you and you can tell if you like it or not. They have always been happy to let me try whatever guitar or pedal I've asked about. I've never felt like a burden to the sales staff, and I also haven't ever felt pressured into a purchase. They really just want to help you find your next favorite gear. Also a great place for lessons. I enjoy going to lots of guitar stores and this is my favorite in the Twin Cities.

Paula Buendorf: Wow! We had a great experience here and learned so much as new guitar owners. Great customer service...knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. Thank you, Asa!

Matthew Pagel: Always friendly and helpful!

Mark McCubbin: The staff at Twin Town are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly and their product selection is great. Support your local shops like this. They can't be replaced by the internet!

Justin Bowling: Definitely one of the best music stores in the Twin Cities, and quite frankly one of the best I've ever been to in the country. Their selection is incredibly solid, from low priced cool stuff you've never seen before all the way up to very high end collectible vintage gear, and everything in between. Also, everyone that works here is super nice and friendly. I did a big trade with them the other day, and it was the easiest trade I have ever done. They are very transparent in how they work with trades. They look at the average sale price, and you get 70% of that. It's so close I was able to roughly gauge what my trade in would be, and then put together what I wanted to trade it in for before coming in and I was able to walk out with everything I wanted. Also, that 70/30 split on trade in's is by FAR the fairest and best trade value I have ever seen at a shop. It makes it worth it to just go here rather than sell online as the difference in what you get isn't really all that much compared to selling it yourself after you factor in the time it takes to sell an item online and the shipping costs. This place is definitely a 5 star shop. There's a reason it's been around and continues to be well known.

Vintage Strings & Musical Instrument Co: what do users think?

Steve Koehnen: Very helpful and knowledgeable, best music store in Mpls

J Randolph: instrument I recommend going in if not just to see the scope of what they have!

Mitch: He had my guitar fixed in 10 minutes. Very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again!

ABrian Carpenter: Friendly service and experienced help with all things STRING.

Matt Herzog: Dale is a skilled guitar technician servicing instruments with precise craftsmanship. He has worked on three guitars and one 4 string bass, and they all played effortlessly after his tune-ups!

Sammy Hagar (Slipit): That guitar score surprises me every time I go in there it’s full of good stuff. I can’t believe some of the things that are in there Vienna. It’s on the little neighborhood guitar shore, but it is fabulous and Dale is awesome as far as repairs and listening and it’s just a nice guy.. I love the place

Frank Vardeman: This is a great shop with a super great owner. Dale does great work, is a gifted luthier AND his prices are more than fair. Wish I could give 10 stars!

Daniel Stevens: Always a great experience! These people know their stuff when it comes to stringed instruments.

Sarah A: Dale worked on two guitars of mine and just great in all respects. My steel string he said when he finished it "would be a joy to play." He did not lie. It sounds and feels amazing. It has never sounded this good and so nice to play. Also fixed up a vintage guitar. Also magical. Very reasonable prices. Fast service. Highly recommend.

Jon Peterson: Love this place. So cool.

Bill Duel: Excellent and fast service on my guitar repair. Highly recommend.

dave hoover: Super chill dude and will set your guitar up and complete any electrical problem

Andrew Frolund (Justice For All): I love this guitar shop! I love knowing the person who's working on my guitar. Turned my guitar in to a Guitar Center once. The whole experience left something to be desired. Never even talked to the guy once. The guy at vintage strings is very knowledgeable about all things guitars and amps. I couldn't have asked for my prized Kramer Assault Plus to be in better hands. Can't wait to have my other guitars worked on here!

joey Covington: Great shop. Great customer service.

Daniel Lauer-Schumacher: Great knowledge and cool small shop with good selection

Josh Roysland: This place is a hidden gem no question! Found the guitar of my dreams here and am so glad I made the stop! Would highly recommend this place and maybe you’ll find the guitar of a lifetime here as well. Can’t say enough about my experience here at this specific location. If your looking for a diamond in the rough, maybe this will be your lucky stop too!

Tim Lees: I love this place. Small neighborhood guitar shops seem to be a thing of the past, and I remember them fondly from the 70's and 80's. I thought they were all extinct. This shop is a trip back to that era. Nothing glitzy, nothing fancy - but so real and authentic. Dale is a super nice guy, with a ton of knowledge, and he is an actual luthier. Took my Les Paul Standard in for a new nut and setup, and it was done perfectly. Had him put new pickups in my Telecaster, and a setup. Again, perfect. And the prices? Unbeatable. Dale is my guitar guy from here on out.

Edward Hoover: Out of the way, but worth the trip. You will find some high quality musical instruments there.

El Diablo Amps & Guitars: what do users think?

Kate Foy: All the five star reviews are right, the staff and selection of gear here are great! They’re knowledgeable and will spend real time with you to find exactly what you need. I’ll be going again next time I’m in town!

A Sinclair: The reviews are absolutely right, this is the best guitar shop in the Twin Cities! The guys are all knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I don’t know a ton about electric guitars but had one repaired here to be sold later. They got it back in playing condition and sounding amazing within a few days at a very reasonable price. I asked if they’d be interested in purchasing the guitar and they were! I had very little info about the guitar, but they came up with what I felt like was a fair offer after they did some research. Even though I’m obviously a novice I felt like they treated me with respect and professionalism. I’d highly recommend El Diablo to anyone and I would absolutely do business with them again. Thanks guys!

Rummy: I thank Alan Estevez and El Diablo Amps for helping me get a piece of gear that I've been after. I was looking for the AmpRX Brownbox and Alan's price was right. More than that though, he and his team provided a very nice customer experience. They did so by politely answering all my questions, shipping promptly, and packing the item professionally. I called him up after receiving the item and had a very nice chat. I will shop with them again. Si quieres hablar con el Jefe, llama a El Diablo Amps.

Paul Richards: Great staff. I brought in a bass and a couple of amps to sell. They treated me fairly and with consideration. I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Henry Blackburn: Great selection of guitars and amps to fit any style of player. Friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to help. The new location is a must see!

Karl Maher: Nice folks and a great selection of vintage and unique gear. The amps are certainly a highlight but their selection of pedals and guitars from local builders are also impressive. Great vibes in the new space too, will definitely be back.

Paul Star: El Diablo Guitars is hands down the best service and repair shop you will find in the cities. The inventory is always flipping because the types of gear they have is ones that you definitely will use or want. Alan and the team is so welcoming and helpful when it comes to getting the gear you need. if they don't have it, they will get it! highly recommend them!!!!

guntrafficradio: El Diablo Amps & Guitars in Minneapolis is a real shred sanctuary. Alan and his crew are wizards—fast fixes, killer rates. The joint's buzzing with a friendly vibe, and the staff, man, they're as knowledgeable as they come.Alan's work? Pure magic. Fast turnaround without skimping on quality—ideal for getting back to the riff game pronto. And the rates won't murder your wallet. The shop's got serious character, just like the gear they stock. Vintage classics to cutting-edge weapons, it's a treasure trove for tone junkies. Plus, the vibe is pure rock 'n' roll camaraderie. El Diablo Amps & Guitars: where strings get resurrected, and the riffs never die. Highly recommend for MPLS music heads! 🤘🎸

Amy Warmenhoven: For unique & vintage gear, $$$$

Kris Martin: Very cool shop with local guitars/amps/pedals as well as other brands. They have a good amount of spots to sit and check out gear and the staff I spoke to were polite and knowledgeable. The only downside is that like most other shops in the area there are only a few parking spots outside on the street. Highly recommend if you don't mind a little walking.

David Fine: Had a wiring issue with a guitar i ordered from these guys on Reverb. Wasn't their fault to begin with but they were super professional and helpful, went above & beyond to make it right. Great business, A+++!

Wil Chow: Great gear. Friendly, helpful staff.

Jon Hoffmann: Came in for a setup and the turnaround was great and my guitar looks and sounds great! Thanks for the education about my bridge style over the phone as well. What a cool spot.

Michael Valdez: Best shop and service in the twin cities - maybe in the state. Alan and Cody are great - went in with a dead pickup and some intonation issues on my vintage Sheraton - they took care of it with ease. Highly, highly recommend.

Bryan Chris: I ordered a vintage bass from El Diablo and had it shipped to my home in Indiana. Alan and his people were all over it. They got it shipped the same day. It arrived exactly how it was described online...dream bass. I couldn't be happier. Many thanks to El Diablo Amps & Guitars for their excellent service!

Jeramy Cain: people in the cities!

Kris Schauer: The guys at El Diablo are all great. Very helpful, and always happy to see you. It's a full service shop, with guitar repair, and amp repair through Tonetron Amps. They have a nice selection of amps, guitars and pedals!

OrbyJays 96: Best guitar shop in the world. I’d live here, if I could. Awesome gear, nicest employees, and super relaxing environment.

jimmy lyback: This place is fantastic: the relaxed vibe and incredibly helpful and courteous staff are second to none.

Boise Pawn: Many thanks to Gabriel for a very detailed and honest assessment of our 1928 Martin. Highly recommend Hoffman for being straight shooters A+

Correna GHS: . I'll be back with all of my repair needs for sure!

Timothy Acker: ⛳🦆✅🌞

thatrastaguy: Best place for a setup and some repairs. Outstanding work!

Julian Kessler: Went in for a quick repair, took 10 mins. He wasn't going to charge me, so I bought something to support them! I highly recommend

Charlie Buzzell: These guys do a great job, I've had them do a number of repairs, recently repaired a back crack on a 1940 martin d-18 for me, they've also done some great fret replacements, and just recently had them re-fret a 1959 strat, was a great job, guitar feels and plays fantastic, always great service, thank you guys!

Jerry G: Really happy with the way they take care of my guitar.

Charles Johnson: Top shelf

Andrew Abu-Ghazaleh: After nearly 20 years of abuse, electric heat, camp fires and childish use I relied on these guys bring my Taylor 314CE back to life. With three large cracks, a split across the bridge and a pickup that hasn’t worked since 2007 they fixed it all. The work is fantastic and I’m extremely happy. The workmanship was expert work along with a price that was less than two other shops I brought it to. Highly recommended!

Blackbird Music: what do users think?

TJ Shaffer: Friendly, informative and affordable.

michelle Solie: Blackbird music was recommended to me when my daughter started violin. Great service, super friendly and knowledgeable. You can feel a love for music in the place. Super flexible for kids starting on an instrument and working up. We bought a small violin, then exchanged it for the next size up only paying the difference in price. I would highly recommend Blackbird music!

Andrew Marotz: I won't go to any other music store in Minneapolis until I've been here to look for what I need. So welcoming and friendly.

Kurt Larson: Helpful and fun. The folks running this shop have established a homey vibe, and go the extra mile in walking alongside customers, equipping each individual to discover their own personal music-journey.

Scot Mahan-Miller: A great small music store that offers a number of different teachers for different instruments. Very helpful when it came to restring my daughter's guitar.

Koa Rosa: They fixed the action on my traveling guitar and did it in 24 hours. They even fixed someone's ukulele right on the spot. You need stringed instrument repair, this is the spot!

Kyle Nordstrom: The Staff is very knowledgeable, and the prices are fantastic. I was able to sign up for lessons, and have had great experiences! 5/5 would recommend!

Cecilia Pelaez: The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, they have a great stock of instruments at affordable prices and flexible payment options.

Chicken Lyngaas: My daughter has taken ukulele lessons from Blackbird for a few years. She got her instrument there, it has felt like home ever since we first walked through the doors. Her progress as a musician aside, Blackbird has been a warm and welcoming place for her to play and learn. With Covid, lessons have moved to video chat and we are still thrilled with the patience, passion, and creativity with which Charlotte and Blackbird approach music instruction.

Andrew Turbes: Fantastic community oriented music shop! Great place to learn and improve as a musician, not just for stings and repairs

DB: Stringed instrument sales and repair. Lessons for adults and children. Jams. And good people. Highly recommended.

Shannon Jamison: Has drumsticks

ryan olson: I just went in for a set of purple slinky's and some picks. Store is clean, they mostly cater to acoustic stringed instruments. Limited pick selection however. I would have given 5 stars but they don't stock fender 351 celluloid picks. The industry standard since the 50s. Other than that small issue, very prompt, and friendly, give them a shot we need more neighborhood shops like this.

Kim: !

ron harmon: Neil and Russ were awesome ta work with.Searched an found tha saddle for my old guitar.Made this ol Texas boy feel right at home. Thanks Y'all

Brian Hagerty: Friendly local music store with great weekly bluegrass jams.

Homestead Pickin' Parlor: what do users think?

Zachary Dembovsky: Great people, very cool place

Rama Kisora Dasa: Awesome place to buy anything music related!

Steven Olson: Great little shop packed with tons of music. I found the perfect starter book to learn the banjo.

iggydeohgee: Wonderful shop, stopped in looking for advice on my acoustic setup they were straightforward, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Got some smaller thumbpicks that are exactly what I was needing.

Tucker “t17389z” Storrs: Great vibes!

Bradley Turflinger: So friendly and helpful, I love this place for all of my mandolin needs.

David Birkman: Personal assistance is a plus. Instructions available for bluegrass instruments which are for sale also.

KP: There are a lot of cool and unique instruments here. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Randy Burk: A great place to spend time. Check out the instruments. And definitely get to know the staff !

Eapen Chacko: We walked in with a twenty year old Fender mandolin, which had been abandoned in our church choir room; we wanted to repair what we had to in order to donate it to a musician or student who needed an instrument. The owner quickly connected it to an amp and ascertained its wiring was fine. He looked at the strings and said that we should reset the action. This adjustment would be at the bridge and was not an issue of the neck, so this too was good. We left in good hands and look forward to picking it up soon, and the cost was very reasonable. The store is a rare treasure trove of CDs all for $3 apiece. I walked out with two rare CDs featuring Clarence White and the Kentucky Colonels! Banjos and acoustic guitars are on the wall. If you're looking for an instrument or for an adjustment/repair, this is the place. Nice ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Cora Egherman: Cozy spot with nice folks and lots of folk instruments!

Noah Johnson: Awesome local music store with a great instrument and accessories offering! Helpful and knowledgeable!

Jesse Anderson: Kind of just old. But a good place to find harmonicas and such.

Davis Bain: Very kind and knowledgeable staff. I was in a couple times before deciding on a guitar and they helped me find exactly what I was looking for at a very fair price. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Thank you Willie and staff.

Neal Dimick: A little intimidating, but a great shop! The only professional guitar store in Twin Cities, now that the Podium is gone.

Dave Blicq: Imported a vintage Martin from their shop. Shipped lightning fast and couldn't be more pleased. Exactly as described, if not better. Pics after I completed the restoration. 1936 C1.

Christian Briel: New location. Very wide selection. No reason not to stop by for some new gear.

Marc Anthony: Purchased a Gibson Chet Atkins from Willie's. Great service and a great value. I live out of state, and they were helpful when I called in for a in-hand description of the guitar. John handled my order from start to finish, and he was not only polite and informative, he also dealt with all my questions in a professional manner. In addition to having the guitar polished up and restrung, it was packed exceptionally well and arrived promptly.I've saw one or two negative reviews on here before I purchased, but my experience is only positive. They take care of you here and I will definitely be buying again in the future.

Vig Guitars: what do users think?

Ben Manton:

Archibald Chuzzlewit: Супер компетентный, дружелюбный персонал. Они помогли с оценкой старой гитары, и с ними было приятно работать. Конечно, вернусь.

Mike Heitzig: Friendly and expert service! Easily my favorite guitar shop.

Amy Warmenhoven: Friendly staff. They said they do a lot of repairs, but they also had some cool used guitars and amps. Bought a pedal.

Mike Dolbow: The folks at Vig are simply the best. I've purchased an acoustic bass there and had them do a setup and small upgrade on my P-Bass, and I was super pleased with everything. They're friendly and informative too! Can't recommend any higher.

Roald Sinopoli: Great little shop!Super friendly with some great stuff!

Jimi Primetime Smith: Love this place, Ted and Angie are the best. Ted and his staff are the only one I'll let touch my guitars.

Curiosity Streamer: great shop, very friendly staff and an amazing selection of guitar parts at excellent prices

Davy Kline Jr: If you don’t know this shop? You should take a visit and listen to those walls.Ted makes some of the best sounding pickups and they always have really cool gear.

They have a vast selection of high-quality drums and percussion instruments perfect for both beginners and professionals. Besides, their guitar lesson programs are equally impressive, offering comprehensive training in various styles of music. At Klash, you can find everything from drumsticks and cymbals to drum sets, snare drums, and electronic drums. You can check out their new location on 40th and Central in Columbia Heights. It's a spacious and well-lit shop with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Alan: Terrific drum store. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced and awesome customer service. Don’t need to know anything about drums to walk out with what you need.

Bob Locke: Fantastic drum shop. Helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Really amazing cymbal room, great lessons program, and really cool events bringing in some awesome talent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Mark Chapman: A store for drummers by drummers. The staff I've dealt with love their craft, know their stuff and never put on any pressure to buy and I've never felt dumb asking simple questions

Alec Floyd: I live in Atlanta but purchased a ride cymbal from them because they had the best price I could find, after about a month the cymbal cracked and I reached out about the warranty since meinl has you go through the dealer and it was a seamless process, and they were very helpful and responsive during the entire process, I wish we had shops like this in Atlanta

Hellaenergy: Awesome staff

Michelle Mercado: Talented and patient staff. Our son loves going here for lessons.

Daniel Johnson: I took drumkit lessons with Adam for about 6 months, in 2021/22.I have been playing drums for almost 30 years, starting with jazz band in 6th-9th grades. Since then I have had a few different drumkit instructors. Adam stands out for his insight, knowledge, and experience, and also his easy-going vibe. I learned something new each lesson.Highly recommended! Klash is pretty good too.

J Jo: I had my first ever lesson and Adam was so kind and patient! Everyone in the shop was super nice and the cats were an added bonus!!

Daniel Hunter: I wanted to re-express my gratitude for y'all working with me to ship a drum set to Alaska. I know it was a pain, but I'm so grateful! It was securely packed with all hardware perfectly organized. Thank you!

Carey Nadeau: Great stuff!!! Well worth a trip!!

Naomi Swanson: Great service. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Glad we found a good local shop to get a set of drums.

Samuel Stroup: Hands down my favorite drum shop. I’ve come countless times looking for specific little lugs and tension rods and the klash guys always find the stuff I need. Super generous with trade ins and store credit. Great cymbal selection and hardware. It’s the Home Depot of used drum shops

Midwest Musical Imports: what do users think?

Eduardo Perez: Great experience renting a soprano saxophone. The rental was handled by Brandon Wozniak, the saxophone specialist there, and it was super easy. Very responsive and informative. If you’re looking for a rental, I recommend them.

Linda Flanagan: Si far, only dropped my oboe off, but it looked like a wonderful place!

Evan Trosvik: An amazing shop for anything double reed and beyond. Even if you're not in Minnesota their staff is friendly and helpful. I'm fortunate enough to be in Minnesota and have trusted them with my bassoon and business for some time. Double reed doesn't have to be double the price and they do an amazing job.

Frank Fang: Knowledgeable and helpful folks for our novice oboe player. They have a wide selection of reeds that we couldn't get here in Rochester so it was worth a drive up to check out the place and to save us expedited shipping because, you know, high schoolers have no planning skills...

bearr clann: Great place,as a professional woodwind player they had everything I needed, great service!

Mike Wilson: from them. The service is truly exceptional catering to the individual musician’s needs, and the prices are the best I could find. But most importantly, you get to work with a professional musician with the knowledge and experience to get you set up. Highly recommend.

Amy Warmenhoven: Clean. Recital hall is beautiful.

Paul Schaleger: This is my preferred place for my musical needs: reeds, mouthpieces, repairs, and the occasional imstrument. They are local, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Highly recommended.

Tom Hartnett: Excellent, knowledgeable, very just pricing. Great all around vibe.

Camaleon De Puebla: Very good offers

Jillian Black: and answer the questions I had. I absolutely love looking through tools, reed cases, and other supplies, and the options here are the best of the best. I'm a double reed player, but I also looked through their extensive collection of single reed products as well. Overall, there's so much about this place I can't fit into this description, so definitely check it out for yourself! The only couple reasons I chose 4 stars is because pretty much everything is expensive

Joy Kell: An oboe player, the reeds are nice and worth it. I would say if you don't know your reeds, there will be someone who can help you choose your type. Staff is welcoming and helpful.

charles Petterson: Great staff. A pleasure doing business.

Lacey Semansky: Love this place!
