Twin Town Guitars: what do users think?

Jacob Zimmerman: Purchased an isntrument from them online. The pics were exactly of the instrument I purchased and not stock photos. Shipping was reasonable price and timing with accurate updates. Product was packaged well and the shop did a phenomenal job getting it ready to ship and plays better than I could have hoped. I hope to visit the physical location next month and thank you folks in person.

Mike Merwin: on a favorite guitar but I was hesitant to bring it in because it's not exactly a pro-level guitar and I am not exactly a studio player. I asked for advice on what strings I should try from the very kind and helpful staff and went with their suggestion. When I picked up the guitar, I could not believe the amount of work that was clearly done. The fretboard looked better than the day I bought the guitar and I could immediately tell as I strummed it that I had left it in the hands of a professional. Money well spent at a fantastic guitar shop.

Nathan Gentry: I called Twin Town from beautiful, sunny Florida and spoke with AJ. I was all like “the internet said you guys have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. Is that true?” And AJ was all like “I believe we do have one of those but let me go look. Do you mind if I put you on a brief hold?” And I was like, “of course not”. So I waited on hold briefly while AJ ran to check and make sure Twin Town did in fact have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. I was concerned AJ would come back and tell me that no such guitar existed in his store. But when he came back to the phone he was all like “I do have one of those in stock”, so I bought it. AJ and the gang shipped my guitar out FAST too. I didn’t have to wait weeks to express myself through the majesty of song on my new left handed Epiphone ES 335 in vintage burst. Needless to say, I couldn’t be any happier with Twin Town or AJ’s service.

richard traxler: Great shop, great teachers, well managed, fun place, better than the strip mall stores.

Robert Wicklander: Best guitar store I’ve ever been to. Cole was awesome in helping me get back into playing after a couple year break! Super knowledgeable and super nice. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This is where I’ll be going for anything guitar related. Thanks guys!

Josephine Morris: I got my first bass from Twin Town Guitars. I went in looking for a bass guitar, and was instantly greeted with friendly and informative staff. They have a pretty good collection, and you can pretty much find what you're looking for than if you went to a bigger store like Guitar Center. I love supporting local businesses, and this is one to definitely support!

Chris Dewar: Bought a lefty Taylor classical guitar from out of state that I couldn't find anywhere else. Haven't visited the store but had great experience and highly recommend!

Rich Rue: Great music store! 👍🎶

Kelly Cook: Great music resources

Alex Nelson: Love this store! Super helpful and welcoming. Love that they have two little "try out" rooms, where you can play guitars and pedals without worrying about bugging the people around you and you can tell if you like it or not. They have always been happy to let me try whatever guitar or pedal I've asked about. I've never felt like a burden to the sales staff, and I also haven't ever felt pressured into a purchase. They really just want to help you find your next favorite gear. Also a great place for lessons. I enjoy going to lots of guitar stores and this is my favorite in the Twin Cities.

Paula Buendorf: Wow! We had a great experience here and learned so much as new guitar owners. Great customer service...knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. Thank you, Asa!

Matthew Pagel: Always friendly and helpful!

Mark McCubbin: The staff at Twin Town are knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly and their product selection is great. Support your local shops like this. They can't be replaced by the internet!

Justin Bowling: Definitely one of the best music stores in the Twin Cities, and quite frankly one of the best I've ever been to in the country. Their selection is incredibly solid, from low priced cool stuff you've never seen before all the way up to very high end collectible vintage gear, and everything in between. Also, everyone that works here is super nice and friendly. I did a big trade with them the other day, and it was the easiest trade I have ever done. They are very transparent in how they work with trades. They look at the average sale price, and you get 70% of that. It's so close I was able to roughly gauge what my trade in would be, and then put together what I wanted to trade it in for before coming in and I was able to walk out with everything I wanted. Also, that 70/30 split on trade in's is by FAR the fairest and best trade value I have ever seen at a shop. It makes it worth it to just go here rather than sell online as the difference in what you get isn't really all that much compared to selling it yourself after you factor in the time it takes to sell an item online and the shipping costs. This place is definitely a 5 star shop. There's a reason it's been around and continues to be well known.

Blackbird Music: what do users think?

TJ Shaffer: Friendly, informative and affordable.

michelle Solie: Blackbird music was recommended to me when my daughter started violin. Great service, super friendly and knowledgeable. You can feel a love for music in the place. Super flexible for kids starting on an instrument and working up. We bought a small violin, then exchanged it for the next size up only paying the difference in price. I would highly recommend Blackbird music!

Andrew Marotz: I won't go to any other music store in Minneapolis until I've been here to look for what I need. So welcoming and friendly.

Kurt Larson: Helpful and fun. The folks running this shop have established a homey vibe, and go the extra mile in walking alongside customers, equipping each individual to discover their own personal music-journey.

Scot Mahan-Miller: A great small music store that offers a number of different teachers for different instruments. Very helpful when it came to restring my daughter's guitar.

Koa Rosa: They fixed the action on my traveling guitar and did it in 24 hours. They even fixed someone's ukulele right on the spot. You need stringed instrument repair, this is the spot!

Kyle Nordstrom: The Staff is very knowledgeable, and the prices are fantastic. I was able to sign up for lessons, and have had great experiences! 5/5 would recommend!

Cecilia Pelaez: The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, they have a great stock of instruments at affordable prices and flexible payment options.

Chicken Lyngaas: My daughter has taken ukulele lessons from Blackbird for a few years. She got her instrument there, it has felt like home ever since we first walked through the doors. Her progress as a musician aside, Blackbird has been a warm and welcoming place for her to play and learn. With Covid, lessons have moved to video chat and we are still thrilled with the patience, passion, and creativity with which Charlotte and Blackbird approach music instruction.

Andrew Turbes: Fantastic community oriented music shop! Great place to learn and improve as a musician, not just for stings and repairs

DB: Stringed instrument sales and repair. Lessons for adults and children. Jams. And good people. Highly recommended.

Shannon Jamison: Has drumsticks

ryan olson: I just went in for a set of purple slinky's and some picks. Store is clean, they mostly cater to acoustic stringed instruments. Limited pick selection however. I would have given 5 stars but they don't stock fender 351 celluloid picks. The industry standard since the 50s. Other than that small issue, very prompt, and friendly, give them a shot we need more neighborhood shops like this.

Kim: !

ron harmon: Neil and Russ were awesome ta work with.Searched an found tha saddle for my old guitar.Made this ol Texas boy feel right at home. Thanks Y'all

Brian Hagerty: Friendly local music store with great weekly bluegrass jams.

El Diablo Amps & Guitars: what do users think?

Kate Foy: All the five star reviews are right, the staff and selection of gear here are great! They’re knowledgeable and will spend real time with you to find exactly what you need. I’ll be going again next time I’m in town!

A Sinclair: The reviews are absolutely right, this is the best guitar shop in the Twin Cities! The guys are all knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I don’t know a ton about electric guitars but had one repaired here to be sold later. They got it back in playing condition and sounding amazing within a few days at a very reasonable price. I asked if they’d be interested in purchasing the guitar and they were! I had very little info about the guitar, but they came up with what I felt like was a fair offer after they did some research. Even though I’m obviously a novice I felt like they treated me with respect and professionalism. I’d highly recommend El Diablo to anyone and I would absolutely do business with them again. Thanks guys!

Rummy: I thank Alan Estevez and El Diablo Amps for helping me get a piece of gear that I've been after. I was looking for the AmpRX Brownbox and Alan's price was right. More than that though, he and his team provided a very nice customer experience. They did so by politely answering all my questions, shipping promptly, and packing the item professionally. I called him up after receiving the item and had a very nice chat. I will shop with them again. Si quieres hablar con el Jefe, llama a El Diablo Amps.

Paul Richards: Great staff. I brought in a bass and a couple of amps to sell. They treated me fairly and with consideration. I highly recommend paying them a visit.

Henry Blackburn: Great selection of guitars and amps to fit any style of player. Friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to help. The new location is a must see!

Karl Maher: Nice folks and a great selection of vintage and unique gear. The amps are certainly a highlight but their selection of pedals and guitars from local builders are also impressive. Great vibes in the new space too, will definitely be back.

Paul Star: El Diablo Guitars is hands down the best service and repair shop you will find in the cities. The inventory is always flipping because the types of gear they have is ones that you definitely will use or want. Alan and the team is so welcoming and helpful when it comes to getting the gear you need. if they don't have it, they will get it! highly recommend them!!!!

guntrafficradio: El Diablo Amps & Guitars in Minneapolis is a real shred sanctuary. Alan and his crew are wizards—fast fixes, killer rates. The joint's buzzing with a friendly vibe, and the staff, man, they're as knowledgeable as they come.Alan's work? Pure magic. Fast turnaround without skimping on quality—ideal for getting back to the riff game pronto. And the rates won't murder your wallet. The shop's got serious character, just like the gear they stock. Vintage classics to cutting-edge weapons, it's a treasure trove for tone junkies. Plus, the vibe is pure rock 'n' roll camaraderie. El Diablo Amps & Guitars: where strings get resurrected, and the riffs never die. Highly recommend for MPLS music heads! 🤘🎸

Amy Warmenhoven: For unique & vintage gear, $$$$

Kris Martin: Very cool shop with local guitars/amps/pedals as well as other brands. They have a good amount of spots to sit and check out gear and the staff I spoke to were polite and knowledgeable. The only downside is that like most other shops in the area there are only a few parking spots outside on the street. Highly recommend if you don't mind a little walking.

David Fine: Had a wiring issue with a guitar i ordered from these guys on Reverb. Wasn't their fault to begin with but they were super professional and helpful, went above & beyond to make it right. Great business, A+++!

Wil Chow: Great gear. Friendly, helpful staff.

Jon Hoffmann: Came in for a setup and the turnaround was great and my guitar looks and sounds great! Thanks for the education about my bridge style over the phone as well. What a cool spot.

Michael Valdez: Best shop and service in the twin cities - maybe in the state. Alan and Cody are great - went in with a dead pickup and some intonation issues on my vintage Sheraton - they took care of it with ease. Highly, highly recommend.

Bryan Chris: I ordered a vintage bass from El Diablo and had it shipped to my home in Indiana. Alan and his people were all over it. They got it shipped the same day. It arrived exactly how it was described online...dream bass. I couldn't be happier. Many thanks to El Diablo Amps & Guitars for their excellent service!

Jeramy Cain: people in the cities!

Kris Schauer: The guys at El Diablo are all great. Very helpful, and always happy to see you. It's a full service shop, with guitar repair, and amp repair through Tonetron Amps. They have a nice selection of amps, guitars and pedals!

OrbyJays 96: Best guitar shop in the world. I’d live here, if I could. Awesome gear, nicest employees, and super relaxing environment.

jimmy lyback: This place is fantastic: the relaxed vibe and incredibly helpful and courteous staff are second to none.

Mark Chapman: A store for drummers by drummers. The staff I've dealt with love their craft, know their stuff and never put on any pressure to buy and I've never felt dumb asking simple questions

Alec Floyd: I live in Atlanta but purchased a ride cymbal from them because they had the best price I could find, after about a month the cymbal cracked and I reached out about the warranty since meinl has you go through the dealer and it was a seamless process, and they were very helpful and responsive during the entire process, I wish we had shops like this in Atlanta

Hellaenergy: Awesome staff

Michelle Mercado: Talented and patient staff. Our son loves going here for lessons.

Daniel Johnson: I took drumkit lessons with Adam for about 6 months, in 2021/22.I have been playing drums for almost 30 years, starting with jazz band in 6th-9th grades. Since then I have had a few different drumkit instructors. Adam stands out for his insight, knowledge, and experience, and also his easy-going vibe. I learned something new each lesson.Highly recommended! Klash is pretty good too.

J Jo: I had my first ever lesson and Adam was so kind and patient! Everyone in the shop was super nice and the cats were an added bonus!!

Vintage Strings & Musical Instrument Co: what do users think?

Steve Koehnen: Very helpful and knowledgeable, best music store in Mpls

J Randolph: instrument I recommend going in if not just to see the scope of what they have!

Mitch: He had my guitar fixed in 10 minutes. Very knowledgeable and very reasonably priced. Would definitely go again!

ABrian Carpenter: Friendly service and experienced help with all things STRING.

Matt Herzog: Dale is a skilled guitar technician servicing instruments with precise craftsmanship. He has worked on three guitars and one 4 string bass, and they all played effortlessly after his tune-ups!

Sammy Hagar (Slipit): That guitar score surprises me every time I go in there it’s full of good stuff. I can’t believe some of the things that are in there Vienna. It’s on the little neighborhood guitar shore, but it is fabulous and Dale is awesome as far as repairs and listening and it’s just a nice guy.. I love the place

Frank Vardeman: This is a great shop with a super great owner. Dale does great work, is a gifted luthier AND his prices are more than fair. Wish I could give 10 stars!

Daniel Stevens: Always a great experience! These people know their stuff when it comes to stringed instruments.

Sarah A: Dale worked on two guitars of mine and just great in all respects. My steel string he said when he finished it "would be a joy to play." He did not lie. It sounds and feels amazing. It has never sounded this good and so nice to play. Also fixed up a vintage guitar. Also magical. Very reasonable prices. Fast service. Highly recommend.

Jon Peterson: Love this place. So cool.

Bill Duel: Excellent and fast service on my guitar repair. Highly recommend.

dave hoover: Super chill dude and will set your guitar up and complete any electrical problem

Andrew Frolund (Justice For All): I love this guitar shop! I love knowing the person who's working on my guitar. Turned my guitar in to a Guitar Center once. The whole experience left something to be desired. Never even talked to the guy once. The guy at vintage strings is very knowledgeable about all things guitars and amps. I couldn't have asked for my prized Kramer Assault Plus to be in better hands. Can't wait to have my other guitars worked on here!

joey Covington: Great shop. Great customer service.

Daniel Lauer-Schumacher: Great knowledge and cool small shop with good selection

Josh Roysland: This place is a hidden gem no question! Found the guitar of my dreams here and am so glad I made the stop! Would highly recommend this place and maybe you’ll find the guitar of a lifetime here as well. Can’t say enough about my experience here at this specific location. If your looking for a diamond in the rough, maybe this will be your lucky stop too!

Tim Lees: I love this place. Small neighborhood guitar shops seem to be a thing of the past, and I remember them fondly from the 70's and 80's. I thought they were all extinct. This shop is a trip back to that era. Nothing glitzy, nothing fancy - but so real and authentic. Dale is a super nice guy, with a ton of knowledge, and he is an actual luthier. Took my Les Paul Standard in for a new nut and setup, and it was done perfectly. Had him put new pickups in my Telecaster, and a setup. Again, perfect. And the prices? Unbeatable. Dale is my guitar guy from here on out.

Edward Hoover: Out of the way, but worth the trip. You will find some high quality musical instruments there.

Neal Dimick: A little intimidating, but a great shop! The only professional guitar store in Twin Cities, now that the Podium is gone.

Dave Blicq: Imported a vintage Martin from their shop. Shipped lightning fast and couldn't be more pleased. Exactly as described, if not better. Pics after I completed the restoration. 1936 C1.

Christian Briel: New location. Very wide selection. No reason not to stop by for some new gear.

Marc Anthony: Purchased a Gibson Chet Atkins from Willie's. Great service and a great value. I live out of state, and they were helpful when I called in for a in-hand description of the guitar. John handled my order from start to finish, and he was not only polite and informative, he also dealt with all my questions in a professional manner. In addition to having the guitar polished up and restrung, it was packed exceptionally well and arrived promptly.I've saw one or two negative reviews on here before I purchased, but my experience is only positive. They take care of you here and I will definitely be buying again in the future.

thatrastaguy: Best place for a setup and some repairs. Outstanding work!

Julian Kessler: Went in for a quick repair, took 10 mins. He wasn't going to charge me, so I bought something to support them! I highly recommend

Charlie Buzzell: These guys do a great job, I've had them do a number of repairs, recently repaired a back crack on a 1940 martin d-18 for me, they've also done some great fret replacements, and just recently had them re-fret a 1959 strat, was a great job, guitar feels and plays fantastic, always great service, thank you guys!

Jerry G: Really happy with the way they take care of my guitar.

Charles Johnson: Top shelf

Andrew Abu-Ghazaleh: After nearly 20 years of abuse, electric heat, camp fires and childish use I relied on these guys bring my Taylor 314CE back to life. With three large cracks, a split across the bridge and a pickup that hasn’t worked since 2007 they fixed it all. The work is fantastic and I’m extremely happy. The workmanship was expert work along with a price that was less than two other shops I brought it to. Highly recommended!

Zachary Dembovsky: Great people, very cool place

Rama Kisora Dasa: Awesome place to buy anything music related!

Steven Olson: Great little shop packed with tons of music. I found the perfect starter book to learn the banjo.

iggydeohgee: Wonderful shop, stopped in looking for advice on my acoustic setup they were straightforward, extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Got some smaller thumbpicks that are exactly what I was needing.

Tucker “t17389z” Storrs: Great vibes!

Bradley Turflinger: So friendly and helpful, I love this place for all of my mandolin needs.

David Birkman: Personal assistance is a plus. Instructions available for bluegrass instruments which are for sale also.

KP: There are a lot of cool and unique instruments here. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Randy Burk: A great place to spend time. Check out the instruments. And definitely get to know the staff !

Eapen Chacko: We walked in with a twenty year old Fender mandolin, which had been abandoned in our church choir room; we wanted to repair what we had to in order to donate it to a musician or student who needed an instrument. The owner quickly connected it to an amp and ascertained its wiring was fine. He looked at the strings and said that we should reset the action. This adjustment would be at the bridge and was not an issue of the neck, so this too was good. We left in good hands and look forward to picking it up soon, and the cost was very reasonable. The store is a rare treasure trove of CDs all for $3 apiece. I walked out with two rare CDs featuring Clarence White and the Kentucky Colonels! Banjos and acoustic guitars are on the wall. If you're looking for an instrument or for an adjustment/repair, this is the place. Nice ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

Cora Egherman: Cozy spot with nice folks and lots of folk instruments!

Noah Johnson: Awesome local music store with a great instrument and accessories offering! Helpful and knowledgeable!

Jesse Anderson: Kind of just old. But a good place to find harmonicas and such.

Midwest Musical Imports: what do users think?

Eduardo Perez: Great experience renting a soprano saxophone. The rental was handled by Brandon Wozniak, the saxophone specialist there, and it was super easy. Very responsive and informative. If you’re looking for a rental, I recommend them.

Linda Flanagan: Si far, only dropped my oboe off, but it looked like a wonderful place!

Evan Trosvik: An amazing shop for anything double reed and beyond. Even if you're not in Minnesota their staff is friendly and helpful. I'm fortunate enough to be in Minnesota and have trusted them with my bassoon and business for some time. Double reed doesn't have to be double the price and they do an amazing job.

Frank Fang: Knowledgeable and helpful folks for our novice oboe player. They have a wide selection of reeds that we couldn't get here in Rochester so it was worth a drive up to check out the place and to save us expedited shipping because, you know, high schoolers have no planning skills...

bearr clann: Great place,as a professional woodwind player they had everything I needed, great service!

Mike Wilson: from them. The service is truly exceptional catering to the individual musician’s needs, and the prices are the best I could find. But most importantly, you get to work with a professional musician with the knowledge and experience to get you set up. Highly recommend.

Amy Warmenhoven: Clean. Recital hall is beautiful.

Paul Schaleger: This is my preferred place for my musical needs: reeds, mouthpieces, repairs, and the occasional imstrument. They are local, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Highly recommended.

Tom Hartnett: Excellent, knowledgeable, very just pricing. Great all around vibe.

Camaleon De Puebla: Very good offers

Jillian Black: and answer the questions I had. I absolutely love looking through tools, reed cases, and other supplies, and the options here are the best of the best. I'm a double reed player, but I also looked through their extensive collection of single reed products as well. Overall, there's so much about this place I can't fit into this description, so definitely check it out for yourself! The only couple reasons I chose 4 stars is because pretty much everything is expensive

Joy Kell: An oboe player, the reeds are nice and worth it. I would say if you don't know your reeds, there will be someone who can help you choose your type. Staff is welcoming and helpful.

charles Petterson: Great staff. A pleasure doing business.

Lacey Semansky: Love this place!

Claire Givens Violins: what do users think?

Kathy Schneider: The staff at Claire Givens is absolutely phenomenal! They are incredibly knowledgeable and always answer any questions that I have. The staff is happy to recommend products and have given me lots of helpful info to keep my instrument in perfect playing condition. I absolutely love the attention to detail and the care that they give my violin and bow each time I visit. I highly recommend Claire Givens for all your stringed instrument needs!

Norm Malenke: Excellent transaction with the purchase of this Manoel Francisco 3-star cello bow. This is from the same great folks I remember when I purchased my cello from them 26 years ago.

Susan Pokorski: .Bravo to Matthew and his C major scales on the cellos for me.

Heide Riggs: Claire Givens Violins is the finest shop in the country. I first visited the shop twenty years ago, and returned to find my dream career violin. They are experienced dealers and restorers and I've not yet met a shop so attentive to their clients' needs and preferences. They truly seek to acquire the finest instruments and are experts at matching them to even the most discerning players like myself. I was immensely impressed when very early in the process, I received a phone call from Claire Givens herself to talk about the violins I had on trial and to discuss my interests and needs. I was amazed by their knowledgeable and efficient shipping procedures, attention to climate differences between where I live and where the violins 'live' in their shop, and ability to make any needed adjustments for playability and sound. Thank you, Claire Givens and all your staff, for helping me find and acquire such a beautiful violin. I will treasure it always, and it was a wonderful experience working with you all. With gratitude,Heide

Matthew Michelic: I have learned so much in my many visits to Claire Givens Violins. Claire is always willing to share insights from her incredible depth of experience, and her staff are also knowledgeable and helpful. Andrew Dipper is a brilliant luthier. archetier, scholar and teacher. I own and play two of Andrew's bows, replicas of bows from the 18th century. Each has wonderfully unique playing characteristics and are beautifully made. The work done in the Givens shop on my instruments and bows has been consistently first-rate. Big thank yous to Claire, Andrew, Matt Dehnbostel, Douglas Lay and Kim Spagnola!

Jose Abdelnoor: User friendly and high quality website.

Claire Martin: Our experience with Claire Givin’s was outstanding! Communication was easy and timely, and customer support was excellent. A bonus was the friendly way the staff interacted with me over the phone and e-mail. Sadly we did not get to visit the store since we live a few hours away, but they were willing to ship trial violins & bows to our home. I was a little nervous about the shipping process, but it was seamless. My daughter found a violin and is so happy to finally have her own instrument!

Jennifer W: Incredible team, dedicated to helping me and my family find the exact instruments that fit our needs. They pay attention to detail, are so knowledgeable, responsive, and extremely pleasant to work with. They really listen to you here. Compared to other instrument dealers, extremely good value for the money spent. I have now bought several instruments from them over the past 5-6 years and have always been more than satisfied with both the instruments and the process. I will always come back to Claire Givens and team because I know I will find quality instruments at excellent prices that are well set-up to maximize their playing potential.

Paul Gunderson: This past year we made the decision that our son needed to upgrade to a professional cello. This was our first cello purchase since we had been renting for years. We have had an outstanding experience with Claire Givens Violins and would highly recommend working with them for both the purchase and service of your instruments. The day we arrived at the shop, we were impressed with the personal service we experienced, the beautiful shop and the selection of instruments they had. Claire and her team were both friendly and professional. They had pre-selected cellos and staged them for my son to play. Claire provided helpful guidance in the process to help us find the best fit for our son and for our budget. Since that time, they have been supportive in our continued instrument and bow needs. My son's bow recently needed some repairs. We live at a distance and Matt helped us arrange for shipping to and from. These were done in a very timely fashion and the work was exceptional. The crew at Claire Givens Violins are top notch, have a love for music and are clearly in the business of sharing that with others.

Perry Combs: Sales person knew the instruments for sale and helped me find one I liked. Prices of fine instruments are reasonable and they “set them up” very well.

Stephanie Zaner: I would highly recommend Claire Givens Violins for any new instrument/bows as well as any instrument/bow repairs. Our daughter plays violin and we have purchased a violin and a couple of bows at this shop. We have also had several bow rehairs and they also repaired a cracked bow we purchased years ago from a different shop and they have always performed these tasks efficiently and timely. We live in Missouri and Claire’s was recommended by our daughter’s private instructor. I have worked with Matt D. with each purchase and he was wonderful about shipping violins and bows to us for trialing so our daughter and her instructor could work with them together to make the best possible decision for our daughter and purchasing a new instrument. The staff is highly knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Claire’s violins are always quick to respond to calls and/or emails. We have been customers for a few years and have always been more than satisfied with the service we have received.

Glenn and Marla O.: I must have been very overdue for new strings and bow hair because my violin has never sounded better! Thanks to the wonderful experts at Givens Violins!

Shane Long Photography: Wonderful place to buy a cello! After calling around to a few places, we decided to go to Claire Givens. Their location was easy to access from the parking ramp and they even gave us a voucher for parking! Matthew helped us out and was very knowledgeable. He had a couple cellos out to try and even played them both for us. Zero sales pressure, just honest advice. He gave us plenty of time to try out the cellos and bows and didn't once try to get us to spend more than what we had told him was our budget. We will be back again next time we need to make a purchase! Very happy customers!

David Peel:   Matt also contacted my daughter's violin teacher so that she could provide any additional information.  Then, Matt sent out two violins to trial.  We had a strong preference for one of the violins, but wanted some adjustments made.  So, we sent both back.  The staff at Claire Givens made the adjustments we requested and sent the violin back in a brand new case that we also wanted to purchase. In the end, the violin is not only beautiful in appearance, but has the most beautiful and amazing sound!  We are happy, our daughter is happy, and her violin teacher is happy with the selection!!!Claire Givens is definitely the first place we would go to purchase another violin!

Bradley Peck: Found a fantastic cello at Claire Givens! The customer service and experience was a true pleasure, especially the help in selecting the right cello and bow for me.

mary hirsch: “Repairs were discussed in advance when I dropped off the instrument. These repairs were carried out professionally, successfully, at the cost I expected and in the time frame I was hoping for. I'm older and use a walker, so the staff found me at my car and carried the violin to my car. Absolutely a positive experience in every way. I had a cello repaired by Clair Givens about 30 years ago, and the same expert care has not changed. My grandson is now using the violin, and he is thrilled. Thank you, Claire Givens team!”

Leslie Shank: Doug does amazing work on my violin, with such personal care and attention.

Mary Page: from Claire Givens shop and I can say, as a professional violinist, that this has been a fantastic experience. Andrew Dipper is an incredible bow craftsman and restorer of baroque instruments. Every day I play them is a pleasure. Claire, Andrew and the entire shop spent so much time with me making sure I had the right instrument and bows. I feel so fortunate that I was able to work with such a terrific and professional group of people who are passionate, caring and knowledgeable.

Micah Averbeck: I had a tremendous experience with this business. I had access to trying each instrument and bow to my heart's content. I ended up finding a bow that made my instrument sound like it never has before. Completely eliminated a "wolf" I had experienced since I bought the instrument decades ago. Claire and her associates were professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. I will certainly seek to do business with them again in the future.

Qxotic Bg: Terrific experience, very professional. I described the characteristics I wanted and they matched them. Very pleased.

Groth Music Company: what do users think?

Sarah Wood: I made inquiries about rentals online and their response time, information provided, and politeness was wonderful! If you have any questions and can’t get in store, don’t be afraid to ask online!

Sonny Savage: They have an incredible selection of new and used instruments. The staff was attentive without being intrusive.

L.R. Brooks: Great selection of sheet music for piano. It looked like they had a lot of other instrument pieces as well. Fun section of stuff for kids that kept my minion busy while i browsed.

Joy Salls: Super great, friendly staff! Wonderful selection and wide variety.

Phillip Current: Knowledgeable!

Joni Monroe: Needed some sheet music for the 8th grade trombonist. The places recommended by the school were showing out of stock. Those that were in stock stated it could be a 4-6 week shipping time due to music having to come to their warehouse. I did a Google search and Groth Music popped up. Saw they offered a pretty quick shipping time. Ordered the piece, not only in stock, but at a slight discount! Ordered on 01/30, music was here by USPS 02/06. Music was packaged perfectly to protect it from any transport bends or creases. I will always check Groth first for any future purchases! - A Florida customer.

Kimberly DeVries: They are helpful and go out of their way to provide great service! Love Groth Music!

Andrew Escobedo: The service was amazing and fast. They have some of the best collections of bassoon music out there. Always reliable when it comes to bassoon music.

eddie ciletti: Super knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and friendly staff! Great selection!

Jenn Gillen: and it's always been a great music shop. A good spot for student and intermediate instruments

Manny Laureano: I am proud to have such a well-stocked music store with such friendly, helpful people in our community. The employees honor the Groth name with their work.

Natalya Chernova: I had to order three advanced pieces of flute music, and Groth Music not only had all three in stock, but also at a better price and cheaper shipping than competitors. The music was shipped right away, and with ground shipping I had it in 5 days here in Upstate New York. It was also packaged nicely in a firm envelope and came in perfect shape. Very impressed. Thanks a lot!

Cadenza Music: what do users think?

Kaitlynn Fuller: Very quick, friendly, and knowledgeable staff! Will definitely come here again for any future string instrument needs.

Sarah Schmalenberger: I have been going to Cadenza for twenty years now for all sorts of things. Scott was the first repair person I met when I came to town, and I have sent many St. Thomas students to him and others in the repair shop. I enjoy browsing through music and supplies while chatting with folks upstairs. Cadenza is an integral part of this community

Lexi Meyers: do you guys still do electric guitar lessons? I really wanna learn.

Sam Bluhm: What can I say, Cadenza Music Rocks!!! The staff is friendly and very helpful, the store is always clean and welcoming, and they always have what I need whenever I stop by! I'm a very happy camper!!

Amy Warmenhoven: They carry all the most popular method books and have some of the newer pop. They have the most essential accessories for band and orchestra students. Clean and kid-friendly.

Dennis Smith: Cadenza repair is awesome for annual cleaning and fixing stuck valves and slides. They rent instruments too.

Don Lehnhoff: Единственное место в городе, где был футляр от тромбона, который я искал. Успешно справился. Отлично иметь дело.

M G (CIRCLEOF5555): Классное место

Bruce Lemmons:

ToneTron Amps: what do users think?

Paul Dragich: Awesome products and customer service that you won't find elsewhere. You've been to the other shops, treat yourself to a visit here.

Adam Swenson: Awesome job fixing my vintage tube amp. Very reasonable pricing, did everything I was hoping for, and amp sounds fantastic! What more could you ask for?

John Verheyen: After being mildly disappointed in my Fender Blues Junior III for over a decade, Jeff instantly made me fall in love with my amp after his Blues Junior modification package. The shrill, painful high frequencies are gone, the articulation between strings has improved greatly, and the tones controls have become more responsive. His amp modifications/improvements actually make my guitars "feel" more enjoyable to play. I highly recommend Jeff/ToneTron Amplifiers!

silly wog: Exactly what you want. Truth in tone

Denis Hogen: Jeff did a fantastic job on my vintage 64’ Vox AC30 amp. With a very fast turnaround 2 weeks! Very reasonably priced also. I highly recommend Jeff Falla and his shop ToneTron Amplifiers.

Bob Luger: Great guy very knowledgeable, fixed my Marshall dsl40 when something went bad in the circuit board. Very fair priced, highly recommended!

Alex Kelly: Jeff really knows these amps inside and out. Great service and very timely, will be recommending to my friends!

Fong Fang: First off, didn't know what to expect from Tonetron since I've never had to have an amp repaired or modified. Reached out to Jeffrey, total stand up guy from the facebook messages to the phone conversations! I never felt that he was holding anything back, gave me tons of options, very transparent, and I never felt like I was being sold. Long story short, I had a specific tone in my head for this particular amp, I described it to Jeffrey, he gave me the options, pro's and con's, then I jumped in! A week later, he emailed me and said the amp was done. I kept my expectations low, picked up the amp, got home plugged it in, and was BLOWN away!! I almost threw this $1200 amp away, but with help of Tonetron, this amp is now sounding exactly how I envisioned it to sound when I purchased it. Thank you Jeffrey!!!

Matt Clark: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueJeff has worked on a couple of my guitar amps with a quick turn around. I highly recommend working with Jeff. You won't be disappointed and I guarantee you'll go back to him again. Thanks, Jeff!

Norge Starr: A much needed service for musicians whether professional or hobbyists. I loved getting my American built amp tuned up here versus creating unneeded trash by tossing it and having to replace it with a market flooded with offshore comparables. Thank you Tone Tron for making my little gem from Irvine California sparkle with tone again! Fast, friendly turn around.

Casey Frensz: Trustworthy, fair, and highly competent amp tech. He has solved every puzzle I've brought to him, gave me a fair price, and taught me something about my gear with every fix. I'd love to own one of his amps someday!

Amber Johnson: I can't say enough good things about ToneTron Amps. Phenomenal prices, super responsive and communicative, quick turn around and professional work. Jeffrey has worked on my Twin Reverb twice now, the first time he fixed some issues regarding tube connections and when I got it back I still felt like I was losing signal. Jeffrey took it back to look at it and found that the signal chain may have been decreasing because of my aftermarket FX loop. He threw in a switch to turn off my loop free of charge. You can't get generosity, attention to detail, or dedication like that at a large retailer. Absolutely amazing.

Darren Tollakson: Positive:ProfessionalismI have complete respect for Tone tron Amps. they are a excellent to work with, kept me updated. and went above and beyond.

Matt Schwandt: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI had Jeff take a look at a tube reverb circuit that wasn't working in one of my amps. Jeff replied to my email inquiry within a matter of hours, and within the span of a week, I was hearing lush, tube-driven verb out of my amp! I've also played a few of Jeff's amps over the years; they are incredibly well-built and sound fantastic!

joshua johnson: I was amp shopping for a long time. Tried out so many amps. None of them had the right features the right sound or the right build quality. I wanted an amp with sweet sweet cleans and nice fuzzy crunch. Told Jeff what I wanted, gave him a couple sound clips and he built me my dream amp. The sounds I’ve had in my head forever are coming out of my Tonetron custom. Jeff is an Amp circuit wizard. He also fixed my little shrill lackluster practice amp to sound so so sweet. Repair or a build, Jeff’s the only guy I’ll go to for amps.

Frank Bellanger: Great guy, great work.

Lun Ho: I have a Yamaha MX100II Mark II Disklavier piano I bought in the 90's. One day the power supply just stopped working. The piano would only play 2-3 mins then stalled. I called Yahama and found out they don't support the piano's electronics anymore and certain components aren't available at all. While I was frustrated with Yamaha's lack of help, I googled and found Jeff online. Called him up and he said he would take a look and work on it. He was busy but started working on it after a week. He found the issues, replaced a bunch of capacitors, diodes, etc. He even tested the circuit and told me it should be fine. Came home, tested it immediately, and it's working perfectly. It's a very nice piano and I am very happy that it's working again. His price is very reasonable as well. I'd highly recommend Jeff for any acoustic electronics troubleshooting and repair.
