Steven Rethwill: Easy 5 stars. Every part of the process was great. Definitely recommend going to the showroom and taking the time to see all the options and customization that can go into your project. Installation team was awesome. Ask for Steve and Ty for installation, they were super respectful when coming into our home and what I liked most is you could tell that they really cared and wanted to take the time to make sure everything looked perfect. They absolutely crushed it and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.

m ever: We met Dimitri and literally found him on the internet. He was at our house the next day and we liked him right away! He looked at our space and had great suggestions! We hired him after seeing his amazing shop and meeting his people. Our cabinets were installed less than 10 days later and they were beautiful! We were thrilled so we had him do our back hall/mudroom. He had those built ins done and installed about 2 weeks later. Everything he does is precise and he is very talented indeed. He upgraded parts of both projects for us at no charge and then he also remade glass doors for a bar area we were not replacing and redid my kitchen cabinet to allow for trash containers. His installers were great, ontime and true craftsmen. Dimitri is easy to get ahold of and always available to answer questions. His thinks of his work as "works of art" and they truly are that. We would recommend him with 100 stars if we could. We also talked to 2 other clients before we hired Dimitri and they both also raved about him and his work! It is hard to find a carpenter/cabinet maker today that is under 75 years old and we have found a treasure!

Mary Hearne: We used Elegance Custom Cabinetry for a large kitchen cabinet and to add 3 drawers that would match the 7 year old custom maple stained cabinets that were currently in the kitchen. The drawers are side by side to another set of original drawers and are a completely perfect match in both stain, finish, fit and style. Dmitry worked with us to draft a preliminary design for the cabinet that matched our vision and to meet our needs for a coffee and beverage station. He is experienced and offered excellent ideas that we hadn't thought of. He sent his plans for final approval prior to starting the work and he made a one change that we requested.The cabinet has a durable and perfect painted finish and it looks like a high end piece of furniture. All the inside and exterior are of high quality finishes. The drawers and doors are slow close with easy operation and construction is of perfect workmanship. His install team was also skilled and careful. I would not hesitate to work with him again.

Susan Mulligan: I was looking for a company that was local in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area that would build three sets of cabinets to match our original beautiful 1927 Arts & Crafts bungalow kitchen cabinets. Through my long search I eventually met with April at Steven Cabinets and hired her as our kitchen designer. With Aprils knowledge and experience with small kitchens, she helped my husband and I redesign the half of our kitchen that needed new cabinets and countertops. Ideas that we couldn't imagine came to fruition and I felt secure last fall leaving our house key with the builders and staff at Steven Cabinets while my husband and I traveled to Poland for 2.5 months volunteering to teach English. Once they were built, the staff came into the house and fully installed the amazing cabinets while we were away. When I got home, I couldn't have been happier with their work, the attention to detail, and follow up with our dream cabinets. April made sure the hardware, the countertops, scheduling, and oh.so.many other details were always fully in place. The cabinets are beautiful and are built with such high quality products and detail. Having read some of the other comments about price, I will say that they have been fairly priced, when compared with similar companies. They're exactly as I hoped and even a little better because Andy and Jackson are total craftsmen and did an excellent and thoughtful job. Manish Patel: This is a family-run business. Though they are a little rough around the edges at times, they came through with shining colors. Our front entry door was damaged by an attempted burglary which they replaced. Though it took some time to have the new custom door manufactured and installed, they were easy to contact and walked us through the entire process. The installation was professional and efficient despite it being only about 10 degrees outside. We were really happy with the end result with our beautiful door. The kicker is that our insurance company was balking at the cost of the replacement, and were only going to pay half the cost, however, A&A Millwork talked to them and convinced them after we had already paid for the door, that in fact, we paid less than the original door was worth and that we actually could have spent much more to replace the door. The insurance company promptly cut us a check for the full amount of the installation. The only point I want to make about that is A&A already had their money and they had no obligation to help us, nor did I ask them to. Simply, they went out of their way to help us, which I think makes them unique and definitely would highly recommend them to anyone needing a custom door.

Ethan Forsgren: My wife and I have been thrilled with our experience with Sy, Cody, and the entire team at SP windows. Sy brings an incredible attention to detail, everyone is highly communicative, and the fit and finish of their Retrobox system is outstanding.We had worked with another contractor to try to restore the 115-year-old windows on our house using traditional methods, but the result really didn't meet our expectations. Sy's retrobox system, on the other hand, truly brings your windows into the modern era—giving you all the functionality of a modern window while also keeping the charm and wavy glass of the original sash.I hope SP Windows can continue to offer this level of quality and value, as their business will undoubtedly grow in popularity.* Of note, our windows were coated with about 5 or more layers of paint that had built up over the years, so I put in some of my own labor to scrape and sand the points of contact on our window frame in preparation for the Retrobox install. I believe this really helped improve our fitment, but you can ask Sy if he thinks it would aid in yours.
Cindy Mesko: I am extremely happy with both the customer service provided by Mike V. and the quality of the flush mount storm windows I ordered from SP Custom Carpentry and Windows. The storm windows were manufactured quickly and shipped to New Jersey in a crate that protected the windows from damage. These storm windows are of a significantly greater quality than the storm windows I ordred from another company. I definitely recommend SP CCW for flush mount storm windows especially for keeping an historical home period correct.
Kristian Zimmerman: Sy came out the same day I called for a quote on a double casement window in our attic that was leaking badly. We wanted to keep the windows as they are original, and we have future plans to convert the space. We got the flush frame combination, and they look great.
Sarah Kacer: Sy refurbished the original windows and replaced the storms on our 1905 house a few years ago and then built custom front porch windows to mimic what was originally there but had unfortunately been replaced with ugly vinyl windows in the 80s.Of all the projects we did in that house, the windows were one of the best investments and Sy was incredible. Now that we moved into another house, a 1920 Tudor now, we are already talking about having Sy out.Absolutely recommend him.
RG: SP Windows is excellent all around! Sy gave us an estimate very quickly and everything was done on or ahead of schedule. We had fifteen storm windows replaced, two full window replacements, and two window repairs. The price was reasonable given the quality and compared to other estimates. These folks truly are craftsmen who care about retaining the character of old homes -- in my case, an almost 100 year old craftsman bungalow. The storm windows look great and are much more functional -- no need to swap windows and screens twice a year! The full window replacements look just like the originals, but are not rotted and actually work. In addition to Sy being exceptionally responsive and friendly, Cody, Pedro, and the rest of the installation team were on-time, friendly, tidy, informative, and a pleasure to have working on our house.
Andrew Heiring: SP Windows did a really great job at my house. The original wood frames and sills of my windows had rotted after being underneath aluminum wrap for many years, and SP Windows was able to remove the aluminum wrap and replace what was rotted with new, historically consistent frames, as well as replace old aluminum storm windows. They finished a day early and right on budget despite the rot being worse than expected in some areas.

Tucker D: Jim and crew over here are beyond impressive. Not only did Jim truly have a custom cabinet attitude, their install team put the cherry on top. I built my last house in 2013 and it had 'custom' cabinets. But anything my wife and I suggested, we'd get "That's not what we normally do". Pretty much takes custom out of the picture. Fast forward to 2020 building our final home. When we talked with Jim, he laid out how the process goes. He provided a plan that had cabinets in it to get the process started. But from there, we went room by room adjusting and changing to exactly what we wanted. Truly custom. The only comments we heard from Jim was "That is going to look awesome" and "absolutely we can do that". Never an argument. Never a question about what we wanted to do. The designer took my idea and went farther with it than I had imagined and the end product has the feel of a complete redo. Sara and Lacey came up with ingenious designs to meet our needs and paid attention to details. Usually any new construction is stressful, but John made this process smooth and stress free. He informed us of the weekly schedule and plan. We were so comfortable with them in our house that we even went on vacation for two weeks during the construction. Great team, wonderful people and above all professional.

Alyssa Swenson: I took the Scandinavian Knife Making class with Dan and Theo at MPLS MAKE. It was awesome!! They make you feel comfortable using tools that you’re not used to, and encourage you throughout the process. It was really fun and we all ended up with unique, beautiful knives!
Miranda Woodrich: This was my first visit to MPLS MAKE for a welding course by Theo. I enjoyed the class, was impressed by the scope of instruction given, and appreciated the patience and guidance by the instructor. We learned about different welding machines, safety, how to use the equipment which included cutting metal, and each student was given multiple opportunities for hands on welding experience in the class. It was more than I would have imagined in a friendly and relaxed environment. I can't wait to take more classes here and explore MPLS MAKE.

I was a little nervous at first since I immediately thought danger, but Dan and Theo did such a great job explaining the process that I felt confident and safe. The class was informational, interesting and hands on fun! Great for a creative date night.

James Declan: This is one of the best makerspaces I have ever been too. Granted I have not seen everything they offer, but I have a couple other places to compare them too. I used their wide-belt sander to flatten an end grain cutting board and not only did it take 5 minutes, but it only took off about 3/32 in total, not to mention leaving a wonderful finish. If you need to use any of their services, need not ponder, it is worth it considering I drove an hour to get there. I will definitely be considering a membership in the future.

Xav Lee: Dan and some other guy there was really helpful. Had a big slab width too large for normal planers, but they still helped me to figure out a solution and got it done. Very affordable rate for the planing service. Couldn't be more happy with the results. By the way, my slab was warped, bowed, cracked before I brought it in, now it's flat as can be.
