Minnesota Center For Book Arts: what do users think?

Deborah C: Truthfully, I visited because I heard about the gift shop from social media and was blown away. The shop features a ton of local artists, and artists from marginalized communities. They have a huge selection of zines, prints, and greeting cards. I ended up getting four greeting cards and two stickers, but I would've absolutely gone home with more if my bank account allowed for it.

Osman Bayram: Great peoples 👍

Greta Casey: Great makerspace for book artists, library, gathering place for writers, and a nice little gift shop. Added bonus: Milkweed Press!

Jens Holmboe: This place is the best. I have been there twice with my classes and, as a teacher, the experience for the kids is superb.

Chelsey S: Wonderful workshops available from passionate artist professionals. Once you have some experience with the techniques and equipment you can sign up for open ‘lab’ or commit to renting studio time.I attended Marbling 1 workshop with Michelle Blodgett and found it well taught..and the form very addicting!

Seesaw Ching: Love it

Max Schaffer: This place is totally incredible, got an amazing print here I’ve cherished for years and there’s awesome resources for learning all sorts of amazing art styles!

Justin Lee Miller: The best cafe in the neighborhood. Gift shop is nice. Ironically, they don't carry stationary. I guess no one writes letters but me.

Angela Zhang: The set up is very creative and very very nice. The shop is full of trinkets for bookworms and artists. The little zine exhibit there during my visit was great.

rod mason: Printing, typesetting, other book arts

Marti Simmons: Lots of artists and book binders at work. Great store if you love paper and paper arts!

Digs: what do users think?

Drake Friesen: Awesome boutique shop!

Laura Olson: I checked out a few fabric stores that day.....this was the most unique.....reminded me of the shops in Stillwater. Good quality fabrics and unique gift store.

Cole Sarar: Great little sewing/crafting/gift shop. I’ve gotten all sorts of basic sewing needs here- zippers, wonder clips, buttons, etc. lots of vintage goods too.

Mind Yobiz: This place is less than a mile from where I live, I went there looking for some fabric to make some panels for my walls. Boy oh boy was I stunned by the selection, every color, tons of patterns, stripes, solids, prints and more. Plus the cards, cups, mugs, hand made items, easily the greatest 800 square feet I have walked into ever. All the items are made by individual crafters and not corporations, which makes it all the better.

Mike Gustafson: Hard to make a quick visit. Found cute items for babies. Clever gifts & crafty items for a project. Diverse vintage items too. I 'll be back.

Mariel Goettsch: Wonderful local shop - both for sewing needs and handmade gifts! One woman show💁‍♀️ always helpful and personable.

Susanne Bushman: This is one of my favorite little spots in Minneapolis! Tons of cute new and vintage gifts and goodies to look at, a nice selection of crafting tools, and delightful fabric

Colleen Clish: Charming selection of fabrics, cards, crafts, and vintage items.

Lucy Ross: Such a fun shop! We spent far too much time goofing around in here. Really wonderful staff. Lots of unique trinkets, old pictures, fabric, jewelry, and these surprise jars that had my group so excited to come back. Really a cheerful spot, whimsical but well organized. Lots going on in there! Fun spot to stop and spend time in.

Michael Waldegerma: Great neighborhood shop to visit for kitchenware, candles,al and other items both vintage and locally crafted. Most of the space seems to be fabrics but I don't know enough to comment.

M S: The cutest little store, and a favorite place to buy earrings, fabric, cute gifts for new babies, bday cards, and other fun things for home!

Rebecca Darling: Um, I spent an hour in this store and I could have spent more. Excellent fabric selections, including some pretty unique fabric at good prices. Staff was helpful without being in your biz. Probably not a great store to bring little kids cause there's a million wonderful tiny things to touch. Plus you'll miss all the cool stuff.Visit. Buy fabric and yarn. Shop local!

Kelly U: Such a fun store! They have wonderful unique gifts and a great yarn and fabric selection. Their boutique yarn is very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back!

CieJ’ Lou: Anyone whom loves-and appreciates a wooden toy will find a magnitude of joy within Heartfelt’s walls .My kiddo and I found this little gem one decade ago on a neighbourhood stroll to talk to a tree about a troll. It is down from the great harvest bread co and across from Sebastian Joe’s .In Linden hills.I loved the preschool weekly groups with my little one.THIS IS MY Favourite place IN THE ENTIRE CITY.Lisa is calm caring and supportive to anyone needing a village. She will allow you to pause and breathe and quite literally teach you how to make butter. And when you are ready you will feel the buzz of creativity surrounding this store each and every season.Wet wool felting .Forest bathingButter with a jar and marblesFall leaf lanterns.Tree house.Wood peg dolls to occupy all minds.Heartfelt has taught me to slow down raising our kids and make memories together with our hands.Truly a spectacular shop everyone should visit.

Spencer G: Such a unique and thoughtful creative store for kids. We went for a birthday party and had so much fun crafting and playing!

Carrie Steenlage: I stopped by Heartfelt with my daughter for the first time yesterday. We had so much fun picking a project and getting creative. She is already talking about going back. Highly recommend for families with kids who enjoy art!

Ryan Muldowney (Rmuldow1): Such friendly and helpful staff

Cory Chenevert: Wonderful place to buy a skillfully curated selection of toys for imaginative play, quality craft kits & art supplies. Our favorite reason to visit is to make an reservation for our kids to come to use Heartfelt's craft supplies & art tables to create something beautiful on site. Best of all are the lovely humans who own & run Heartfelt. Patient, helpful, & welcoming.

Lisa Poseley: Such a wonderful place! My kids have gone for years to make projects and buy wonderful supplies. They're so patient with kids, and the kids really learn a lot. Highly recommend!!

Catherine Easler: the store is fantastic. everthing you need for creative fun kids play or adult hobby. lise is always helpful and kind.

Lisa S: Such a local gem. It is my daughters & I favorite place for a day just the two of us. Lisa is such a wealth of artistic information, and all the crafts are genuine, simply sourced and honest in materials.

Jodi Miller: I took my daughter to Heartfelt a couple of times when she was 2. I was a little nervous because crafting with a 2 year old can be tricky, especially in public. We made pumpkin homes for a peg-gnome that we also made there. We so thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, both times. It was so much fun playing with her with it and even after that pumpkin rotted, we still kept the gnome and tree bark bed we made. The thing though that I most took away from Heartfelt was how to craft with a toddler. Making the pumpkin home and watching the staff’s instruction to a young audience, and how they handled the kids and their parents as well as seeing how you could use pieces of nature to make really neat things was beyond inspirational. I will always remember Heartfelt for these experiences I gained. I could see shopping there for project ideas/supplies for a adult without kids too.

Articulture: what do users think?

Bill Horn: Summer camps are wonderful. Very engaging for our non-joiner little one.

Tony Dallas: Fun for whole family!!!Great prices.

Meghan Lin: and then decorated. Our only issue is finding space for all her creations, lol, we hadn't fully thought through that aspect of it when she said she wanted to do art camp all summer. She loves it though, they keep her very engaged, one teacher played Mad Libs games that she loved, and they go outside to the playground a lot. I really want to sign up for some adult classes now, her projects look so fun!

Brandi Leder: My daughter has done 4 different summer camps here and they have all been great! As far as keeping the kids safe during covid they seem to be doing a great job. If someone isn't wearing their mask properly they help them adjust it. Which is more than I can say about other camps.

Nina: Articulture is amazing! Providing artistic opportunities all while supporting local artist! The executive director Liz is an amazing spirit! Everyone here including the retail comittee are awesome. You can find unique items at the gift shop and they provide basic art supplies too!

Yannis Da Greek: Great non-profit with really dedicated people carrying for everyone.

Sara Boutros: A great non-profit organization with lots of great classes for adults and your kiddos!

Ellie Leonardsmith: Fantastic, open ended classes. My kid had a blast!

Samantha: I had a great time making art! There was also a sweet, sweet dog there that deserves 5/5 on her own.

Zoe Olson: My 5 year old took 2 weeks worth of art classes in the summer of 2017 and loved it!

Adeel Ahmad: We've done 3 camps here so far this summer and have one more to go. My five year-old has been loving it and I highly recommend it. We've been doing half-days but I would easily recommend full days.At the end of each week I'm amazed at how much they produced during the week, even doing half-days which usually include snack and walk outside. The topics of each camp are extremely diverse and I had a hard time narrowing down to just the four weeks that we needed. Prices are very reasonable for what you get, which is excellent teachers, excellent staff and excellent curriculums.

Beadhive: what do users think?

Lexi fae: Get all my jewelery stuff from here, great selection of beads and charms.

anne palmer: Easy to find; cute space. The selection wasn't as large as I was hoping it would be the prices and quality made up for that.

Terry D: line, leather cording and other styles. They also have sterling silver beads and sleeves. Their prices are quite reasonable and you do not need to buy by the bag.

Megswede B: I had a necklace custom made for my daughter who lives in Michigan. I also bought an amber river seed necklace and angelite bracelet. Becky made the gorgeous bone bead necklace and my daughter says "I love the amber river beads and the angelite bracelet too. Just beautiful! Bone necklace is even more beautiful than i imagined. thank you"! Becky is a very talented bead artist. The necklace truly is one of a kind, love it!

Magdalen Voss: , you can get $ off by coming back!

Lane L.: Without question, the finest bead store in the area. Wonderful quality and selection, and the owner is wonderful too.

Russell Long: Cute store, service with a wonderful smile.

Autumn Gray: Unique place all about beading. Range of beads from Ethiopia, Tibet, clay, coins, bones and crystals. The employee wasn't super helpful or friendly, but would stop by again to shop.

Tony Savage: IT'S a great beading project a definate stop for beads from around the world.

Jibrahn Ike: Great service, will definitely return here for any needs or repairs

Bridgette Jessen: I really enjoy shopping for jewelry making goodies at Beadhive. It's a delightful treasure of a bead store in the heart of Minneapolis. I like that the shop isn't too large inside and the bead variety is pretty diverse. You can find lots of gorgeous beads from Africa and other parts of the globe that will add a nice unique quality to your creations. Beadhive carries many different gemstone strands, Czech glass strands, metal and wood beads, and a great selection of chains. It's easy to get inspired while shopping here, too, with finished pieces on display to ogle. The owner, Becky, is so wonderful and helpful if you have any questions or would like to visit. The employees are all very attentive and helpful, too.Beadhive offers classes in a range of skillsets and they're very reasonably priced. The only downside to visiting here is that it's located off an extremely traffic heavy road and parking can be difficult. It's still worth checking out and staying awhile, though. 💜

Damion Swanson: Good prices

Greta Hammelman: Great selection and knowledgeable staff. Definitely stop here!

Erin Johnson: All the employees have been fabulous. Very helpful with any questions. I am a new member and get updates on classes and special guests at the center. Lots of classes to expand my love for fiber arts. I've found the library very useful.

Leah Honsey: Classes are fun, the art is inspiring and unique. The show changes frequently so it's a great destination for frequent visits. I like that the gift shop has kits for beginners that are reasonably priced so myself or kids can try new things like felting, knitting, dying. Lots of great books too. And really friendly staff

The lovely woman in the gift shop was so welcoming, and helpful, she made the entire experience interactive and I appreciate that! It was a meaningful trip, that really sparked my creative juices and an invitation where the community can come together peacefully and experience incredible art. It's a hidden gem and I definitely recommend everyone stop in at least once in life. If you have any reservations sign up for their newsletter via email. It definitely was the reason I was so adamant about finally making it in after so many years of meaning to, but not making the time! Thank you all for the incredible work you provide!

Lily Keire: Many creative minds are abuzz at this clean, cozy, welcoming fiber arts center. You feel you could reach your potential here--take classes, get inspired by the art and goods on display, take a seat and reflect on the quiet glory of real art. Definitely worth a visit. Upstairs Circus MPLS: what do users think?

Maria Crihan: A great crafting place, with a lot choices to do…A nice place to spend time with friends or family. It’s funny and friendly…Even you can celebrate a birthday here..🎊 We definitely will come back 👍🏼…… Not a place for newborns, you don’t have a place to feed or change the diaper, even in the restroom!Parking is a challenge, you need to find one, and pay!

Riana Mefferd: and the customization options

Grace Buddecke: Actually so precious. Be prepared to spend but so worth it. I made a necklace and my partner made string and nail art. Mine took maybe an hour and a half but the nail art took about three hours. So depending on project, be prepared to have a few drinks. They have cute cocktails I got the strong arm punch with st. Germain. Super yummy.I’d come back

Kaela: This was such a fun, memorable experience. My husband and I went here for a date and we both enjoyed it! I chose to do string art and he chose to make a flask. I didn't finish my project on time. However, the staff sent me home plenty of string to finish later. There are tons of different projects for everybody, and the staff members are always around willing to help if needed. Definitely recommend!

K Kenyon: Trevor was super nice and helpful!

Maggie Minge: I went to Upstairs Circus as part of a work outing and it was so much fun! I loved that there was a variety of projects that you could choose from based upon how much time you wanted to spend, your own skill level, your style preference, etc. The full bar doesn't hurt either to boost your artistic confidence😆 Mariah and Margaret were so helpful with any questions we had and made the experience really smooth and enjoyable. I texted my husband and told him we need to return for a date night some time. Highly recommend!!Parking: There is a public paid parking lot at the other end of the block and also across the street. Also metered street parking as well.

Kristen Taylor: make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable and enjoyable time. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, and I am already looking forward to my next visit. :

The Loft Literary Center: what do users think?

Andrea Johnson: The Loft is an incredible place that encourages creativity, storytelling, and community.

Joaquin Cruz: I been to this place before, it's nice, it has a library and a coffee shop!

valerie jeffreys: I went there to Vote in the Nov 2 2021 election for Mayor and many others, along with 3 questions. It was in and out

David E. Engen: Brilliant classes with equally brilliant and creative classes. I’ve gone from thinking about a book idea to actually creating it thanks to the common sense and creative approach that exists here. I’m more than a little enthusiastic about the mission of The Loft.

Aleisha Theisen: I recently took my first Loft class, and it was a fantastic experience. Kate St. Vincent Vogl taught the course, which was on keys to driving narrative. She provided thought-provoking examples and guidance on ways to approach narrative, and she led interesting discussions on the craft. I received valuable feedback on my work from Kate and my fellow classmates. I'm planning to take more classes at the Loft in the future.

Linda Hart: I enjoy listening to your young aspiring authors and poets.

Noor A.: The events they host are excellent, and they really add something great to the community by giving platforms and voices to those who are not given them often. I’ve been to the loft several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed in anything they have to offer, from the events to the food/coffee to even just the space they occupy. A great place overall.

Maya B: A community staple! They offer classes, events, food & drink, room rentals, book clubs, and so much more.

Dianne Wagner: Appreciate the comraderie with fellow attendants at The Loft. Wonderful literary class for sixteen-year-old granddaughter. The coffee shop has superb food and coffees too.

Araceli Esparza: It's still a place for all writers, much love for being a place for the creatives!

Zo Hz: I went in for a pick up order and saw the store had a larger discount for a single item than the discount I got online. I asked if it was possible to return my online pick up order and get the better discount and they took the time to figure it out for me! Special thanks to Ira and Zach! This has been my go-to Michaels for years, some items might be cheaper elsewhere but the discounts often make up for it on larger items

Phillip Jarosz: Good service & prices

Janie Lee Perlinger: its a great place for quick crafts but I personally prefer Hobby lobby

Charles Simmons: Had exactly what I wanted

Kenya Fair: I never really understood why Michael’s don’t sell fabric that’s a part of all crafts kind of but not this place was nice. They got a young staff that I don’t think ever done any crafty very much but it’s a nice clean place.

Pam Johnson: N8ce staff and clean organized store.
