Thomas Sadler Roberts Bird Sanctuary: what do users think?

Mar Mar (Jellytinkles): Have seen many birds here so it’s definitely got the correct name. Also convinced I saw a deer with CWD should have that checked out. I like walking here.

Paul Mellgren: Nice park to walk around

Abigail Brett: Really pretty, didn't see many birds but there was a little muskrat swimming in a pond and a deer peaking out of the grass at us! It was a busy time of day, maybe there are more birds when it's quieter.

Chris McDonald: Possibly my favorite little nature spot in the cities. Just stay away when I’m there thanks!

Nina Hale: A lovely walk as well as a great place for birds. Lovely as an more natural add-on to the more formal gardens on the other edge of the parking. Devoted volunteers working constantly to improve/restore the native plants. Plus a very reliable spot to here Common Yellowthroat bird, which always makes it a great day for me.

Lucia Bintner: Love this place! Always has lots of birds to spot

Kacey Borin: I’ve come here a number of times and enjoyed walking around. Happy to see some invasive species management and native habitat establishment! Parking is across from the rose garden, which my navigation doesn’t really direct to.

Catherine Anderson: Nice urban wildlife refuge! No dogs or jogging allowed and people are mostly respectful that birds are the priority. Most birdwatchers are happy to share what they see and help novices. Does not have a physical book to record species but is very well maintained. Pay parking lot so park above the rose garden on the neighborhood street to avoid a ticket. One bike rack at the trailhead and one by the lot entrance. Closest bathroom is at the of the mile trail, across the street at the lake.

Thomas Gallagher: Shhh. A wild slice of Mpls.

Sig: A beautiful chunk of nature in the middle of the city 💜

LC: Had a beautiful visit mid week, loved seeing all the beautiful birds, boats and of course, the bandshell. Definitely worth a look with the whole family!

Parrot Island: what do users think?

Bryan Mack: Best shop so far - I’ve had birds for 30 years across five cities, and Parrot Island is the best. If every business modeled themselves after PI, the world would be in a better place. There is no disposable plastic garbage or mass-produced “food” here. Every item is ethically made/sourced, and the owner KNOWS his stuff.

Megan Trainor: They have a huge variety of toys, food and everything bird. The quality of the seed is very good but have your wallet ready because its almost $50 for 4lbs. It is quality but I think it's still to high. Lots of profit there.

Dante Hoyos: I've been going here for 7 years. It is the best place imaginable for parrot owners. We are very lucky to have it in Minnesota. Terry is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Everytime I go there I learn something new.

Carol K: Awesome selection of supplies for all birds. Terry is extremely knowledgeable.

Jenna Reynard: This place makes me excited to treat my avian family member. Staff is kind and knowledgeable.

Dean Nation: The go-to shop for bird owners. Excellent service and products!

Kyliana Bergerson: We went here and oh my gosh. Its so nice. There are so many toy and food options, none that are harmful for birds. The owner knows what he is talking about. I love it.

Mu Pumpelmuse: and he's always been more than willing to share his knowledge. I've learned a lot from him, and knowing the toys here are all bird safe is a relief as well. Would recommend to anyone with parrots.

Nolan Isaacson: Terry is such a wonderful resource for parrot owners in the Twin Cities and beyond. Having been a part of the Avian Veterinary Assn, he knows everything there is to know about parrot care. I am a newish owner of a white capped pionus parrot, and he has given me an awesome vet referral and great suggestions on toys, food, etc. I bought a couple of java branches from this store that are the perfect fit for my parrot. It is worth spending the extra money in-person, as there is no guarantee what kind of tree/branches you'll be getting when you order them online. Everything there is ethically sourced, well researched, so consider it money well spent when buying his products. So grateful for Parrot Island!

Jeremy B: We've been customers of Parrot Island for over 20 years. The extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff/owners take their time to answer your questions and help you get the best products for your birds. They only sell quality products that they themselves use for their own birds. Simply put, we would never consider buying food, supplies, or toys from anywhere else.

Andrey S: He gave a great lesson on how to treat parrots that was much better than what I had seen online!

Kayla Wohlferd: Great place. I learned so much here about how to give my parrots the best possible life! Not only can I rest easy knowing that everything sold here has been researched and proven to be bird safe, but I also receive a lot of free advice. If I'm concerned about my bird, he'll take the time to look at pictures and share his lifetimes worth of scientific knowledge to help me out when he's not too busy. Please, if you're ever here, listen to Terry--his experience, knowledge, and advice really are well researched and backed by scientific evidence. Also, can't beat that small business customer service! Some of the prices can be a little on the higher side, but that's because it's all high quality, ethically/safely sourced, well researched, bird safe, and human grade. If that's out of your price range, the owner will still help point you in the right direction to find something as safe as possible, even if that might end up not being at his store. He'll be honest about the pros and cons. Very cool guy

Caddy Rowland: Terry and his family really know parrots. Always takes time to answer questions I have aboutmy Pionus and my Grey. Very caring.Great selection, fair prices, and orders come super fast!

Alex Holslin: Very helpful source for all bird needs! The owner is very knowledgeable and happy to give advice.

Justin Mueller: Great shop for everything birds. Owner is super knowledgeable.

Kris Benson: Expert advice and truely cares about your bird and quality food, toys and supplies. The owner is a real Avian Vet. I will not go anywhere else and worth the drive. The owner will however consult with you over health and behavior issues and make recommendations over the phone then shipping food and supplies to you if needed. I am so thankful. Please visit you will not be disappointed. The membership brings the price down well worth it for sales and discounts.

FS: Just an incredible store if you own a bird! Store is run by knowledge aviary veterinarian which makes it worth a visit just to ask questions about caring for your bird. Its always a pleasure to visit the store!

Emily Roberts: Wonderful parrot store! You won't find as much variety of bird-safe toys anywhere else in the area. Love this place!
