The Loft Literary Center: what do users think?

Andrea Johnson: The Loft is an incredible place that encourages creativity, storytelling, and community.

Joaquin Cruz: I been to this place before, it's nice, it has a library and a coffee shop!

valerie jeffreys: I went there to Vote in the Nov 2 2021 election for Mayor and many others, along with 3 questions. It was in and out

David E. Engen: Brilliant classes with equally brilliant and creative classes. I’ve gone from thinking about a book idea to actually creating it thanks to the common sense and creative approach that exists here. I’m more than a little enthusiastic about the mission of The Loft.

Aleisha Theisen: I recently took my first Loft class, and it was a fantastic experience. Kate St. Vincent Vogl taught the course, which was on keys to driving narrative. She provided thought-provoking examples and guidance on ways to approach narrative, and she led interesting discussions on the craft. I received valuable feedback on my work from Kate and my fellow classmates. I'm planning to take more classes at the Loft in the future.

Linda Hart: I enjoy listening to your young aspiring authors and poets.

Noor A.: The events they host are excellent, and they really add something great to the community by giving platforms and voices to those who are not given them often. I’ve been to the loft several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed in anything they have to offer, from the events to the food/coffee to even just the space they occupy. A great place overall.

Maya B: A community staple! They offer classes, events, food & drink, room rentals, book clubs, and so much more.

Dianne Wagner: Appreciate the comraderie with fellow attendants at The Loft. Wonderful literary class for sixteen-year-old granddaughter. The coffee shop has superb food and coffees too.

Araceli Esparza: It's still a place for all writers, much love for being a place for the creatives!

Minneapolis College of Art and Design: what do users think?

Aric Bertram: Went for the annual art sale. 2023 had 500 artists and 6,000 pieces of art. $2,000 max price, $50 average.

Daniel Appleby: The campus; the studios, the faculty, the students, the Art, are all first rate! And then the is the location. Adjacent to the Minneapolis institute of Art or MIA which is a wonderful art museum, right down down the street from the Walker Art Center which is an excellent contemporary Art Museum/resource complete with the late great Siah Armajani’s fantastic poetry bridge that takes one over and or back from the lovely Lorring Park where there is much to see and do.

kinderhood: They always seem like they are art minded when I see the students.

noreen swan: So much beautiful art to see all for free!

Laura Giovannini: MIA spectacular exhibition on Japanese textiles

Josh Fay: This is my favorite place in the cities. Endless amounts of art. Impossible to take it all in the same day

Anthony Urban: @ 1501 Hennepin Ave. S.

Emma Koetz: Excited to start school! Everyone was extremely helpful and answered any questions I had!

Kamilla Harris: I'm A Past Student And A Current Student. I Love This College. Everyone Is So Nice And Helpful. The Staff Is Very knowledgeable And Respectful Of My Pronouns And Respectful Of Me As A Person.

Deea Elliott: Staff and faculty is very nice, instructors are very understanding and flexible. Online classes are easy to follow. Very convenient location large campus and they a have basic needs support center open every Wednesday, they pass out food and personal hygiene items. Parking is my only problem here other than that very great school.

Laur en: bad egg teachers

Yarrow LaBeau: and now that I am on my 2nd semester, here's what I have to say.First the bad-The gym is a bit sad. There needs to be more equipment and I heard they used to offer yoga classes but since Covid they have not 😢The staff here are so supportive and it truly feels like this school puts the community in community College. My teachers and admin and other staff have been supportive while I have been dealing with a stalker/abuse situation. I feel fully supported and safe here.I also highly highly recommend the herbalism program because it's one of a kind and the teacher, Erica, is incredibly passionate and enthusiastic about the subject.

Giotto Troia: This review is only for the weight room. The music is horrible. I don't want to listen to jazz music when I'm working out. The attendant on duty said they don't have access to the music... I doubt that. The equipment is a bit old but usable and has a good variety. It's missing some machines like leg extension and some specialized benches. But overall a good selection for a free-for-students gym and convenient if you're already on campus.

Malik McDowell: Excellent place to learn and grow. Great place to update your skills, I would say upgrade!

Sevgi Sezen: Loved being there,Its a feeling to be ready for your new type of life on your career path.Just effort from your side to do homework and then you'll be able to success. My recommendations.

Leigh Miller: I both work and attend school here and I love doing both!!!!!

Dakota Orf: I love it here. It's home to me. Easily the best decision of my life.

Lit Studios: i was greeted by a friendly admission advisor, i sat in some classes, and truly felt like a student. This is definitely the place to go to if you're looking for a career in the Creative Arts industry. Dedicated experienced staff, overall a nice community of staff and students.

Ryan B.: , but IPR was BY FAR the best. Other schools like the Art Institutes only have like one recording studio and IPR has floors full of them.Because it's a private school, IPR is more expensive, but totally worth it... ie: unlimited studio-time with professional equipment, instructors who have produced multiple platinum and grammy-winning albums, and a campus just blocks away from some of the most influential venues in the city. Don't waste your TIME and MONEY at a b-list music school when you could go to one of the best in the nation.

Varsity Tutors - Minneapolis: what do users think?

Chalsey Nelsen: Very misleading with initial contracts and sign-up process. I was told I could adjust or cancel my contract with a 30 day notice. A few months later, when I attempted to adjust the plan, I was told that the info I was given was incorrect, and one can only cancel within a 30 day window of the initial purchase. I'm locked into the contract for two years. It makes no sense for me to commit to a two year tutor, with no opt-out, as too much can happen in that amount of time. I never agreed to that. The rep on the phone was clear, they are completely unwilling to budge. Feels super scam-y and corporate. Buyer beware.UPDATE: following my review posting, manager Elise contacted me to discuss options for resolution. While she did not have information regarding fees or contracts and could not provide me with definitive answers over the phone, she sounded determined to help find a tutoring plan that would work well for my family and said I would not need to continue with a 24 month commitment. She followed up with an email. I was offered a month-to-month option, which can be cancelled at any time. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for, however, it will not go into effect until April and I was told there is no paperwork to be completed until April. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be a good resolution.I am very appreciate that the company was willing to work with me to correct their misleading sales call. They generously offered 8 free sessions as a gesture of good will. We do like our tutor and have seen improvement with our daughters reading.I changed the review rating from 1 star to 4.

chelsea campbell: I had to pass my math placement with less than 3 weeks.. I was at 920 and needed to be at 1100 to enroll in dental otherwise I would have had to wait a year 1/2 and take math classes. Christine Gray is amazing!! I passed and now I'm in the dental program, where I wanted to be. No additional classes needed. I did a Total of 8 sessions, 2 hours each to achieve this outcome.

Mary Staiger: Ashley is a great math tutor! My son Jack loves her and enjoys how she makes math feel more fun and like something he can do. She is great with him, always patient and encouraging.

Annalisa Dietz: and the teachers are amazing !!! Maria Rubin especially:

Carla Fair: Varsity Tutors has really helped my daughter with math. I love not having to drive her to anywhere 2-3 days a week like Kumon or Mathnasium requires. For 1 quarter of the school year my daughter wasn’t getting much better grades, but at the end of the school year she did exceed the requirements for her grade level.

Lori Isaak: Varsity Tutors has worked out great for our son! They found the best tutor that meets our son's needs. Best of all, she comes to our house!

Michelle Brennan: My son Noah had tutoring sessions with Jessica to help prepare him for the ACT test. He was nervous to do the online and wanted face to face. He did the on-line and was very happy with this method. Jessica was wonderful and especially great in Math! He took his ACT and got what he needed! It was also very cool to login during their session and see the interaction. We are very pleased with Varsity Tutors and would highly recommend them.

Elayn Cook: Amy from Varsity Tutor has been working with my granddaughter Avery since February 2018 on her Elementary reading. We weren’t certain until the very last day of the school year whether she would pass 4th grade because of her reading. Avery loves her time with Amy and she is doing very well. We have continued the tutoring through the summer and she has greatly improved her reading. Amy tested her on her vocabulary resently and she passed the quiz at the 7th grade level.

Chris and Delana Wherland: My daughter just completed 12 sessions with Zachary Bien, and will take the ACT tomorrow. I would strongly recommend him- he is kind, patient, knowledgable, and professional. We were unsure of doing the online option vs in person, but this ended up being much more convenient and just as effective. My daughter felt that each session was productive and beneficial and feels confident for tomorrow's ACT!

Six Degrees Uptown: what do users think?

E: Fantastic trainers and staff. Very clean, nice big windows. Classes are fun! I love this place!

L K: It makes running possible and long term injury prevention more creative for any other things you want to do! They care a lot and mix it up so it's a great community, colorful and fun. KUDOS to the Six Degrees crew! I'm grateful to get to come here, and that it's nearby!

Wil Emling: The Asana Stretch class is absolutely thee best thing you can do for yourself. Mind, and body are completely refreshed after guided meditation, and some light stretching. Words cannot even begin to describe what one session will do for stress relief. Space is limited and the lucky people in the know tend to be regulars, so sign up in advance. If you can get in, you'll quickly understand why the lucky few keep coming back every week. Yoga mats are available if you don't have one, and are just beginning to explore the different types of yoga. Fantastic introduction class for beginners.

Oleg Froymovich: great engaging staff. Awesome classes

Karla Kristine Ness: , barre, pilates, piloxing, TRX, etc. I love it all.

Chad Boger: This is a great space with a wonderful team that offers a variety of ways to work on the foundations of your physical health. I've enjoyed large group classes, dual sessions with my wife and some kick butt solo time with Emily. She knows my wants and needs and is able to tailor a workout that takes me to my limits. There is no question that the time I have spent at six degrees has had a significant impact on reducing/eliminating the pain that accumulated from the years of compromised posture at work and play. I have learned concepts about how to move with better connection that will aid me in maintaining a strong and healthy body as I age.

Julie Snow: I came to the studio as a complete beginner. The instructors were amazing: attentive to each person, infectiously passionate about pilates, and expert in encouraging correct, safe, yet challenging form. The studio is airy, bright, warm and welcoming.

Kim Faith: When a studio where some friends and I had been taking barre class closed we looked for a new home. We found it at Six Degrees. The teachers are amazing, talented and knowledgable and lost of fun to work out with. I take Barre classes and TRX. I have found a fun community at Six Degrees. People of all ages and all abilities come together for a fun rewarding work out. I love Six Degrees.

Bailey Blue: I absolutely love Six Degrees. I came here from a chain fitness club Pilates background and found a level of professionalism and classically trained Pilates instructors that really challenge me and continue to make me grow in my fitness. One of my favorite parts is the flexibility with membership. There's no pressure of monthly memberships and additional fees. Everything is straight forward and either pay as you go, or save money by purchasing packages. The class sizes are small, I've been comfortable enough to check out other class offerings including TRX and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. Emily, Cady, and Heather are my favorites.I never regret coming to a class and always feel the mind body connection carried out in my life after I leave the studio.

Caty Taborda: My husband and I have been coming to the studio for two years now, and the range of classes and instructor styles continues to challenge my body and mind in new ways! Super welcoming and inviting space for all ages, bodies, genders, and ability levels. I never thought I'd enjoy group fitness so much, but it's such an awesome and encouraging community!

Kelli Jo: Six Degrees is fabulous! The owner Emily is a fierce woman with a kind soul. I love working with her and I think her amazing attitude sets the tone for the welcoming and encouraging attitudes you will experience at the studio. I have taken classes with Becky and Ashley and they are knowledgeable, and a pleasure to learn from. This is a place that encourages students to be strong, healthy , and confident. It does not matter what your skill level or your body type is at Six Degrees, there are no pretentious attitudes here. As an injury prone individual with chronic pain, I feel so much better after being a client here.!

BEO: I have been coming to Six Degrees for the past two and a half years. The staff is highly talented and welcoming. The workouts are both fun and challenging. Although I happened to shave off 30 pounds since joining, the studio is a warm, safe place for people of all ages and body types.

Shayla Boger: I love Six Degrees Pilates. I have been going there since they opened their doors. My biggest compliments are that they have been consistent with quality movement every single visit, and they make pilates affordable. The staff is friendly and it is always clean.

Carrie Connor: . The knowledgeable teachers, whose attention to detail and unwavering encouragement, have helped me attain strength and movement I thought not available to me. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, the equipment beautiful and the energy is beyond positive.

Aurora Hiraeth: This place always has a refreshing energy.

Carolyne Giancola: From the second I walked into Six Degrees, I knew this is where I wanted to be.... All the instructors are well trained, well informed, and knowledgeable about the body, as well as, exercises they teach. They are wonderful about giving alternatives to some of the exercises if you have had injuries. I love that I can always find a class to take, no matter what my schedule is. I would recommend Six Degrees to anyone, new or seasoned, for helping to keep your body and mind where you would like it to be.
