Justin Yang: As a former student: It was okay here, learned a lot and learned about manners and politeness. But at a cost.Some practices during my time there weren't the best. The humiliation part and yelling from teachers are true. Verbal aggression is a norm here. Some staff aren't as friendly and there's better schools out there. You're kid will turn out academically inclined, but their mental health is smoked. Teachers will and have taken stress and frustration out on students. After learning more about abuse, verbal abuse is to be expected. Everytime there are visitors, everyone portrays the perfect image. I'm pretty sure there are former students who have more to share. For the mental sake of your kids, choose better. Literally had to reheal from here.
Maya Hawk: I am currently a sixth grade student at Yinghua, and though the sixth graders are definitely crazy, there is no abuse or physical fights out in the hallway. The most that you will get if you misbehave is a trip to the principal’s office, or a call to the parents. I recommend this school.
Hazel Zimmerman: Love Yinghua! As a student, I did not experience any of the abuse students and former students are talking about in these reviews. Teachers will expect good behavior, but the worst that happens is a lecture. Most teachers love their students, and only want the best for them. The homework load is heavy compared to other schools, and is not so much that I can't get it done. I can tell that it is really helping me and my classmates to become our best selves. There isn't as much free time for recess and extra curriculars as I would like, but you get used to it and it is not extreme. I highly recommend Yinghua for anyone who feels that they want a challenge or a high quality education.
Gabe Londgren: because he treated me well and taught me so much! I respect him a lot and hope everyone who goes here can learn from him. Some of the people here are saying that the teachers abuse the kids but there is no abuse happening at least not from my time there. The teachers are just very strict and disciplined your child will adapt and learn that a little discipline is not all bad. So I encourage people to try this school out and give it a chance.
Sarah Huntley: Be ready for heavy homework load but no more intense than the public schools Immersion programs. You have to be dedicated as a family to the program. The staff is very communicative and has been supportive of my children. This is our 8th year at Yinghua and the curriculum is excellent!I have a 2nd grader enrolled also and look forward to many more Chinese New Year celebrations.

Adjacent to the Minneapolis institute of Art or MIA which is a wonderful art museum, right down down the street from the Walker Art Center which is an excellent contemporary Art Museum/resource complete with the late great Siah Armajani’s fantastic poetry bridge that takes one over and or back from the lovely Lorring Park where there is much to see and do.

Chalsey Nelsen: Very misleading with initial contracts and sign-up process. I was told I could adjust or cancel my contract with a 30 day notice. A few months later, when I attempted to adjust the plan, I was told that the info I was given was incorrect, and one can only cancel within a 30 day window of the initial purchase. I'm locked into the contract for two years. It makes no sense for me to commit to a two year tutor, with no opt-out, as too much can happen in that amount of time. I never agreed to that. The rep on the phone was clear, they are completely unwilling to budge. Feels super scam-y and corporate. Buyer beware.UPDATE: following my review posting, manager Elise contacted me to discuss options for resolution. While she did not have information regarding fees or contracts and could not provide me with definitive answers over the phone, she sounded determined to help find a tutoring plan that would work well for my family and said I would not need to continue with a 24 month commitment. She followed up with an email. I was offered a month-to-month option, which can be cancelled at any time. This seems to be exactly what I was looking for, however, it will not go into effect until April and I was told there is no paperwork to be completed until April. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be a good resolution.I am very appreciate that the company was willing to work with me to correct their misleading sales call. They generously offered 8 free sessions as a gesture of good will. We do like our tutor and have seen improvement with our daughters reading.I changed the review rating from 1 star to 4.
chelsea campbell: I had to pass my math placement with less than 3 weeks.. I was at 920 and needed to be at 1100 to enroll in dental otherwise I would have had to wait a year 1/2 and take math classes. Christine Gray is amazing!! I passed and now I'm in the dental program, where I wanted to be. No additional classes needed. I did a Total of 8 sessions, 2 hours each to achieve this outcome.

Carla Fair: Varsity Tutors has really helped my daughter with math. I love not having to drive her to anywhere 2-3 days a week like Kumon or Mathnasium requires. For 1 quarter of the school year my daughter wasn’t getting much better grades, but at the end of the school year she did exceed the requirements for her grade level.

Michelle Brennan: My son Noah had tutoring sessions with Jessica to help prepare him for the ACT test. He was nervous to do the online and wanted face to face. He did the on-line and was very happy with this method. Jessica was wonderful and especially great in Math! He took his ACT and got what he needed! It was also very cool to login during their session and see the interaction. We are very pleased with Varsity Tutors and would highly recommend them.
Elayn Cook: Amy from Varsity Tutor has been working with my granddaughter Avery since February 2018 on her Elementary reading. We weren’t certain until the very last day of the school year whether she would pass 4th grade because of her reading. Avery loves her time with Amy and she is doing very well. We have continued the tutoring through the summer and she has greatly improved her reading. Amy tested her on her vocabulary resently and she passed the quiz at the 7th grade level.
Chris and Delana Wherland: My daughter just completed 12 sessions with Zachary Bien, and will take the ACT tomorrow. I would strongly recommend him- he is kind, patient, knowledgable, and professional. We were unsure of doing the online option vs in person, but this ended up being much more convenient and just as effective. My daughter felt that each session was productive and beneficial and feels confident for tomorrow's ACT!

There needs to be more equipment and I heard they used to offer yoga classes but since Covid they have not 😢The staff here are so supportive and it truly feels like this school puts the community in community College. My teachers and admin and other staff have been supportive while I have been dealing with a stalker/abuse situation. I feel fully supported and safe here.I also highly highly recommend the herbalism program because it's one of a kind and the teacher, Erica, is incredibly passionate and enthusiastic about the subject.
Giotto Troia: This review is only for the weight room. The music is horrible. I don't want to listen to jazz music when I'm working out. The attendant on duty said they don't have access to the music... I doubt that.The equipment is a bit old but usable and has a good variety. It's missing some machines like leg extension and some specialized benches. But overall a good selection for a free-for-students gym and convenient if you're already on campus.

There is order in many potentially chaotic situations. They greet each client by name most of the time.I go several times a week and get a great workout. Spin, TRX, APT are my go to classes.Thumbs up

Jamie Keener: Where to begin..I feel fantastic after joining a class at Moto Yoga! The staff and instructors are knowledgeable. I find balance and harmony throughout the session and in my everyday life. I enjoy the guided flow, deep breathing techniques, the warmer temperature, and the joy of the cool shower afterward. Amazing! The connection of mind & body. Peace.

I have had zero issues with membership things - you just email them if you need something handled and they usually reply in a timely manner. They even paused my membership for me when I was gone on a 5-week trip.

Tiffany Landy: , and she was a true delight. She was fantastic with my daughter and was a huge help. In addition to having an extra set of hands to entertain my daughter, she always checked in on me emotionally and physically, which I appreciated. She constantly made sure she was helping me or my daughter, or that the house was being taken care of. I would not have been able to survive the postpartum period without her.
Kylee Haglund: We attended a lactation class and I had a prenatal massage which were both fabulous but I’m here to mostly talk about our experience with Blooma doula service. Our doula was Meagan during our meetings prior to birth she helped us feel more prepared for birth and what to expect/ask our provider leading up to the big day. This knowledge gave me more confidence leading up to birth but where Meagan really shined was during labor. She came in and helped us navigate this very intense beautiful experience. She coached myself and husband and I felt so supported. I truly believe that she was a large factor in me having a positive birthing experience and I am beyond happy with the service.
Nicole Campbell: Our baby is now a month old and we've had the best experience with Blooma over the past 9 months. We attended several birth classes there, I went to yoga, received chiropractic and massages throughout pregnancy and we also used Blooma doulas for our birth.Blooma doulas were definitely the highlight for us and were so helpful to both my husband and myself. Aleida and Shaina were helpful throughout my pregnancy and amazing during labor both before the hospital and once we got there. I had an easy pregnancy, but nothing about the birth was what I had planned for and having doulas who prepped us for that throughout the pregnancy and were there in the moment to talk through things really helped us make the best of the experience. The hospital was also so busy that weekend that we barely saw the midwife, which made Shaina’s support and experience extra valuable for the birth. It was just us, Shaina and our nurse for most of the time and we would have been lost without the two of them! Shaina also took fantastic photos for us!

They went above and beyond to ensure that we felt empowered, supported, and cared for every step of the way. We wholeheartedly recommend Aleida & Shaina & Blooma to anyone seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable birth doula.
Jessica Spanswick: We hired Anna Hoyme as a postpartum doula in preparation for the birth of our first baby. Anna went above and beyond! She helped us navigate lactation, sleep, cloth diapers, communication, recovery from birth, anxiety, etc. She was always so incredibly kind, understanding, and proactive. She is also exceptionally knowledgeable about infant and new mother care. We miss her already!

I would highly recommend all the BYOB barre and yoga classes; it’s a great way to move your body while staying with baby. All the teachers are highly knowledgeable and make modifications as needed.

The wide array of people enables us to accept each other and ourselves for who we are and where we are in life. I also appreciate the wide array of classes and services. Between flow yoga, restorative yoga, barre, mat pilates, workshops, massage therapists, teacher training, and more – I have everything I need at Blooma – for my mind, body, and heart.
Nancy Holtze: Blooma yoga is hands down my favorite studio to practice yoga at and I have lived in many places and tried out countless studios. There is something so uniquely special at Blooma and you feel it the minute you walk in the door. The warmth of the greetings and the community is beyond rich. You feel it immediately and it is welcoming to all. I love the diversity of ages and levels and the instructors are experts in their crafts, always offering alternative options and making sure everyone is comfortable and safe. I look forward to every class.And it is a place for ALL! No need to be female, pregnant or have any children at all.
Ashley O'Reilly: Meagan and Shiana were fabulous.I called them for SO MANY QUESTIONS during pregnancy and postpartum. They always answered - day or night - and made us feel like their most important clients.The suggestions they provided such as when to see a chiropractor, when i should go to the hospital during labor, and when we needed to contact peds for our new baby are all incredibly helpful. Yes, they are expensive, but I would pay DOUBLE to have them again. They were that great!
Libby Arnosti: My prenatal massage with Gretchen was hands down the best massage I have ever had. She made me feel so at ease in the space, listened to what was going on with my body in pregnancy, and personalized her massage really well to what I needed. Her technique is excellent and I truly melted on the table for all 90 minutes. At the end of the massage she gave me resources, tips based on what I am experiencing in my pregnancy, and ideas for how my partner can help me. I am absolutely coming back again, 10/10 would recommend.
Molly McGurran: , birth classes and body work. The doula staff is so talented & their birth education courses are chalked full of information. There is such a strong sense of community & wonderful staff who are knowledgeable and kind!
Hannah Henderson: Our overnight postpartum doula Taylor was fantastic. She made things so easy by handling overnight feedings, bottling/labeling my pumped milk, folding baby laundry, and providing tips and insight about questions we had about diaper rash, sleep schedules, and what's "normal" for twin infants. My husband and I would highly recommend Taylor!
