She knew which Hom Depot store sells them because when she goes to other Hom Depot stores when she is near them and checks out what they have for inventory that she doesn’t have at this store!!!Ruth is such a great employee and certainly deserves recognition for her great customer service and subject matter expertise in electrical and lighting. Nick Casper: I'm a homeowner, not a contractor and Shaw only sells to contractors. So why 5 stars? Marvin makes a storm window for older homes but doesn't really bother advertising it. I'd been to a couple places and was blown off by other dealers. I went here not knowing that they don't sell to homeowners. After the guy at the front desk told me that they couldn't sell to me he recommended a place that could, actually walked me over to a display to make sure we were talking about the same thing, and took the time to discuss the product. To be clear, I wasn't going to be able to buy from them but they gave me better customer service than the stores that would sell to me. It may not be this year or even 5 years, but when I am doing work to my home next, I'll ask my contractor to get a quote from them.

Tyson: I am a novice wood worker that is just getting started with some simpler projects, like cutting boards. I went into Discount Lumber with some ideas in my head, but not exactly sure what I would need. The employees were extremely helpful and took the time to talk me through the project and offered advice on techniques, lumber, using my newly purchased planer and words of encouragement. I brought my 7 year old and 4 year old with me, who can be a handful sometimes at stores. The employee was so good with them and helped keep their attention by hiding little pre-wrapped candies around the shop that they had to hunt around to find. Discount Lumber is a great example of a local business that is operated by people that care about their customers and community. I highly recommend them and will continue to be a patron and support this wonderful local establishment.

Manish Patel: This is a family-run business. Though they are a little rough around the edges at times, they came through with shining colors. Our front entry door was damaged by an attempted burglary which they replaced. Though it took some time to have the new custom door manufactured and installed, they were easy to contact and walked us through the entire process. The installation was professional and efficient despite it being only about 10 degrees outside. We were really happy with the end result with our beautiful door. The kicker is that our insurance company was balking at the cost of the replacement, and were only going to pay half the cost, however, A&A Millwork talked to them and convinced them after we had already paid for the door, that in fact, we paid less than the original door was worth and that we actually could have spent much more to replace the door. The insurance company promptly cut us a check for the full amount of the installation. The only point I want to make about that is A&A already had their money and they had no obligation to help us, nor did I ask them to. Simply, they went out of their way to help us, which I think makes them unique and definitely would highly recommend them to anyone needing a custom door.
