It was in reference to a Viking Artline Slipper chair. If you read the blog, you'll notice that Helen includes a lot of really nice details and suggestions about upholstering this particular chair. Given that I had just purchased one, I thought "Holy Cow! This information is great. If only I had some pictures, I might be able to diy this upholstery job!" It was so much more economical that I also had him reupholster a wingback recliner that had suffered from a puppy stage. Their workmanship is stunning and he was wonderful to work with. Tuffets (small footstools) are made from "green" products - repurposed from cabinet shelving for the base, stair rails cut to various lengths for legs, and fabric remnants and trims from past projects. There are several sizes - usually 5 inches to 9 inches in height - available at my shop, or they are made to order using the fabric and/or trim of your choice.

dahlthomp: Joe makes house calls!Step 1: Joe came to my home to make patterns of the couch and chairs.Step 2: Joe's shop sewed the slipcovers, using upholstery fabric I selected.Step 3: Joe returned to my home and fit the new slipcovers over the couch and chairs.They fit perfectly! In my opinion, Joe's slipcovers are better than reupholstery...they look just as good, with the added benefit that they can be removed for cleaning. Best furniture decision I've made in decades!

Kendall Englund: I had an old sleeper sofa that was 80s ugly, but very well made otherwise. I foundDesigners Best Friend on the internet and emailed him a photo of my couch. I wasn't sure slip covers would work if I wanted to pull the mechanism open to sleep on it, but he assured me that they could make it work. He came out and measured the piece, making detailed pattern pieces out of paper. I already had some fabric, but he can let you know how much to buy if you want to purchase your own or you can buy it from him. The sofa never left our house. It was supposed to take 3 weeks, but he was back in 2 weeks to put the finished slip covers on. They did an amazing job! You would never know this was not the original upholstery and each piece has a zipper in case I need to clean them. You could get a new sofa for less, but it would not be the quality of this work. I definitely recommend them!

Daniel Albing: I was looking around for help re-upholstering my dining room chairs. I wanted to do it myself but had a bunch of questions after I took apart one of the chairs. I brought just the foam from the old seat, and started talking through my project with them. These folks were INCREDIBLY helpful!They described how to make the seat bottom more solid. They helped with foam choice and had me sit on a couple samples. They then custom cut all six foam pieces while I waited there talking to another employee about fabric choices. She described everything I needed to know about fabric, and even pointed me towards their “remnants” bin in case there were any deals there that looked good to me.After all was said and done, I got foam and fabric for 6 big dining chairs for about $400. I also got the confidence from these guys to do the project myself. I just finished today, and it wasn’t too bad. They don’t look perfect, but they’re way better than they would have been without help!Their shop looked busy upholstering furniture and what looked like a car seat maybe? They were super knowledgeable and very helpful. Well definitely do business here again!

Since that time, I have used them for both foam and upholstery and recommended them to friends as well. Several years ago, they completely redid cushions and covers for a sofa and chairs I thought could not be saved, and they still look great to this day. They have a large selection of fabrics to choose from in their showroom as well. And I have always found everyone who works there to be helpful, friendly, and professional.

The whole staff is knowledgeable, friendly and was engaged in helping me. The cushions are beautiful and the sofa looks brand new. They also had a wide selection of fabrics in house. This was an excellent experience!

Anne Plowman: My experience with Anthony's furniture has been great! Dawn at Anthony's actually came to my house and picked up my great grandfather's dresser which had several problems that were getting worse with use. Which is great because my compact car would not be capable of transporting it. During that time, Anthony's was flexible with me as my father had passed away during the window of repair time. I just wish he was alive to see the how the piece looks now. It was one of great importance to him. When I visited the repair shop to see the dresser, it looked better than I've ever seen it. Anthony's uses marine epoxy to garuntee their work for life, so it can last another 100+ years. Perhaps my great grand children will inherit this piece because of the great work Anthony's has done. When the work was done, Dawn delivered the piece back to our house and I was surprised to see she had hired movers as well to ensure that the piece stayed in excellent condition. I was just pleasantly surprised I didn't have to lift anything! The dresser is in now and looks great. Superior customer service and craftsmanship. I will definitely be back for repairs on my other antique treasures.
