Tim Lees: I love this place. Small neighborhood guitar shops seem to be a thing of the past, and I remember them fondly from the 70's and 80's. I thought they were all extinct. This shop is a trip back to that era. Nothing glitzy, nothing fancy - but so real and authentic. Dale is a super nice guy, with a ton of knowledge, and he is an actual luthier. Took my Les Paul Standard in for a new nut and setup, and it was done perfectly. Had him put new pickups in my Telecaster, and a setup. Again, perfect. And the prices? Unbeatable. Dale is my guitar guy from here on out.

Jacob Zimmerman: Purchased an isntrument from them online. The pics were exactly of the instrument I purchased and not stock photos. Shipping was reasonable price and timing with accurate updates. Product was packaged well and the shop did a phenomenal job getting it ready to ship and plays better than I could have hoped. I hope to visit the physical location next month and thank you folks in person.
Mike Merwin: on a favorite guitar but I was hesitant to bring it in because it's not exactly a pro-level guitar and I am not exactly a studio player. I asked for advice on what strings I should try from the very kind and helpful staff and went with their suggestion. When I picked up the guitar, I could not believe the amount of work that was clearly done. The fretboard looked better than the day I bought the guitar and I could immediately tell as I strummed it that I had left it in the hands of a professional. Money well spent at a fantastic guitar shop.
Nathan Gentry: I called Twin Town from beautiful, sunny Florida and spoke with AJ. I was all like “the internet said you guys have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. Is that true?” And AJ was all like “I believe we do have one of those but let me go look. Do you mind if I put you on a brief hold?” And I was like, “of course not”. So I waited on hold briefly while AJ ran to check and make sure Twin Town did in fact have a left handed Epiphone ES 335 in a vintage burst. I was concerned AJ would come back and tell me that no such guitar existed in his store. But when he came back to the phone he was all like “I do have one of those in stock”, so I bought it. AJ and the gang shipped my guitar out FAST too. I didn’t have to wait weeks to express myself through the majesty of song on my new left handed Epiphone ES 335 in vintage burst. Needless to say, I couldn’t be any happier with Twin Town or AJ’s service.

Love that they have two little "try out" rooms, where you can play guitars and pedals without worrying about bugging the people around you and you can tell if you like it or not. They have always been happy to let me try whatever guitar or pedal I've asked about. I've never felt like a burden to the sales staff, and I also haven't ever felt pressured into a purchase. They really just want to help you find your next favorite gear. Also a great place for lessons. I enjoy going to lots of guitar stores and this is my favorite in the Twin Cities.

Justin Bowling: Definitely one of the best music stores in the Twin Cities, and quite frankly one of the best I've ever been to in the country. Their selection is incredibly solid, from low priced cool stuff you've never seen before all the way up to very high end collectible vintage gear, and everything in between. Also, everyone that works here is super nice and friendly. I did a big trade with them the other day, and it was the easiest trade I have ever done. They are very transparent in how they work with trades. They look at the average sale price, and you get 70% of that. It's so close I was able to roughly gauge what my trade in would be, and then put together what I wanted to trade it in for before coming in and I was able to walk out with everything I wanted. Also, that 70/30 split on trade in's is by FAR the fairest and best trade value I have ever seen at a shop. It makes it worth it to just go here rather than sell online as the difference in what you get isn't really all that much compared to selling it yourself after you factor in the time it takes to sell an item online and the shipping costs.This place is definitely a 5 star shop. There's a reason it's been around and continues to be well known.

Since then I have had a few different drumkit instructors. Adam stands out for his insight, knowledge, and experience, and also his easy-going vibe. I learned something new each lesson.Highly recommended! Klash is pretty good too.

Anyway, he's always been fair with me, and even will throw you some great wisdom as far as buying gear, if you pay him the respect he deserves! Lastly he always has some sweet, old beautiful vintage guitars available for purchase, but dont expect to get them for free, as he knows the real market! Highly recommended!

Thaddeus Austin: Absolutely wonderful guitar store, I've been going to the Saint Paul location for years. They give a good price on used gear and have outstanding deals on the guitars they sell. Their inventory on the website is worth watching because they sometimes get really unusual and rare gear and sell it at a really great price. The owners are great people, super honest and friendly, and nobody there has attitude like some of the "boutique" guitar stores in town. This is what a guitar store should be... and they don't just sell guitars! If you're a parent needing gear for your kid, also a great place to go.

Check out the "Silvertone" electric guitars they have. Didn't Sears Roebuck carry that brand like a million years ago.

Their "sell" prices are always on point, even on new items like accessories.This particular location also offers a FULL REPAIR SHOP ---Band Instruments, Electronics, Set-Ups and Full Luthier Services--- They really do it all. I have personally had several difficult and labor intensive repairs completed by them IN HOUSE at very REASONABLE RATES.Truly a HIDDEN GEM in the area, this shop is FULL SERVICE, COMPETENTLY RUN, and the employees are always FRIENDLY and KNOWLEDGABLE.THIS LOCATION IS WORTH SEEKING OUT!!!

A Sinclair: The reviews are absolutely right, this is the best guitar shop in the Twin Cities! The guys are all knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. I don’t know a ton about electric guitars but had one repaired here to be sold later. They got it back in playing condition and sounding amazing within a few days at a very reasonable price. I asked if they’d be interested in purchasing the guitar and they were! I had very little info about the guitar, but they came up with what I felt like was a fair offer after they did some research. Even though I’m obviously a novice I felt like they treated me with respect and professionalism. I’d highly recommend El Diablo to anyone and I would absolutely do business with them again. Super flexible for kids starting on an instrument and working up. We bought a small violin, then exchanged it for the next size up only paying the difference in price. I would have given 5 stars but they don't stock fender 351 celluloid picks. The industry standard since the 50s. Other than that small issue, very prompt, and friendly, give them a shot we need more neighborhood shops like this.

Eapen Chacko: We walked in with a twenty year old Fender mandolin, which had been abandoned in our church choir room; we wanted to repair what we had to in order to donate it to a musician or student who needed an instrument. The owner quickly connected it to an amp and ascertained its wiring was fine. He looked at the strings and said that we should reset the action. This adjustment would be at the bridge and was not an issue of the neck, so this too was good. We left in good hands and look forward to picking it up soon, and the cost was very reasonable. The store is a rare treasure trove of CDs all for $3 apiece. I walked out with two rare CDs featuring Clarence White and the Kentucky Colonels! Banjos and acoustic guitars are on the wall. If you're looking for an instrument or for an adjustment/repair, this is the place. Nice ambiance and friendly, knowledgeable staff.

The workmanship was expert work along with a price that was less than two other shops I brought it to. Highly recommended!

Paul Wurtzler: The staff is friendly and not pushy. One of the employees is absolutely awesome and extremely great to work with, I can not remember his name, but he is a younger man with blonde hair. He is super enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I've purchased and traded there. Those transactions felt fair, and they seem to take into effect my purchase history when doing deals with me. I would recommend this store to a beginner along with a seasoned musician for quality gear.

Terry Vittone: I bought an excellent-to-mint early 60's Harmony H47--a one pickup semi-hollow electric guitar--for all of $200 bucks, which is 50% or more lower than current market price. A MGR guitar tech, Tyler, did amazing work on this instrument--he cleaned the electronics, dressed the fret ends, and made a rosewood replacement bridge. The action, intonation, and tonal response of this guitar is now at peak performance, and in my opinion, the work Tyler accomplished on this guitar is worth the price I paid for it. Sick value!
