It can be tempting to buy or rent from large scale online retailers but West Photo will give you competitive pricing.I had an enjoyable time recently trading up into the mirrorless category. I was attempting to restore my parents’ old Pentax ME Super and after determining it wasn’t salvageable, they helped me find an identical body and got me set up with my first couple rolls of film. When I was having film loading issues, they guided me through what I was doing wrong and how to avoid issues in the future. Can’t thank them enough, very knowledgeable and patient staff. Steve Garbe: You don't have to be a major production company to get exceptional service from the team at Cinequipt. I routinely tell Chris or Mitch in rentals what my current challenge is, and they present solutions that fit my budget and crew size. In 20 years I have never had an issue with rented equipment, a missing piece or something not being available when they said it would be. If I have a last-minute request, everyone in the building jumps in to find a solution. Mitch in service is also routinely amazing. Once I brought him a light with a broken power switch where the routine repair was to replace the entire board for hundreds of dollars. Mitch had already sourced just the power switch from the original switch manufacturer, and soldered in on in 24 hours, for $50. When I visit other cities, it's hard to understand how they survive without a place like Cinequipt.

I had two rolls of film that needed to be developed and scanned and the price was actually cheaper than what I thought it would’ve been so I upgraded to a pro scan instead of basic for my film. They said it’d most likely be done tomorrow and I got the link with my pictures two hours after I dropped them off! Seriously recommend them!

Drew Barkman: SO FAST. Scans usually in within a day or two. In comparison, my friend dropped off film at Walgreens, charged him more for scans, and told him he would get them back somewhere between two weeks to a month!!! Don’t know a ton about film but their prices seem competitive for rolls and disposable cameras.

Devon Cox: Dropped six disposable cameras off at 2:30 p.m. on a Friday. Had the scans in my inbox by 5:00 p.m. that same day. Are you kidding me? "Fast" is no exaggeration with these kind and lovely folks. Do yourself a favor and skip Walgreens/CVS. Super reasonable prices, too.

Nicholas Comparato: This place charges an additional $15 per roll to develop and scan black and white film because they do the process by hand. I was not super thrilled about this; however, I cannot deny they did an incredible job. I got my color photos back amazingly fast and the b+w followed a few days later. Expensive, but very happy with the results.

Mia Deaven: Employees are super helpful and friendly, make it easy to get into film photography as a beginner. Fastest turnaround of developing film, scanning it, and sending photos that I’ve ever found in the cities–some days I get my scans back the SAME DAY I dropped off film! Would highly recommend to any amateur photographer that doesn’t want to bother with developing their own film.
