Project Manager Lisa and her crew of superb subcontractors arrived every day and completed the project exactly on schedule. Even talented in house designer Jennie visited on a regular basis, to make sure everything was being done as planned. In addition to Lisa and Jennie, CKB owner Johnson stayed involved on a regular basis.The bathrooms look like upscale spas and are truly stunning! The tilework, counters, and cabinet design are unique and gorgeous. It’s hard to believe that they were able to make this amazing transformation from our dated 1980’s baths, which had seen better days. John Wagner: We recently worked with Crystal Kitchen and Bath on a complete Kitchen remodel. Our kitchen had not been changed in the 26 years we’ve owned our house and we knew we needed an update. We requested bids from three different remodelers and felt most comfortable with Jolynn and her team at Crystal Kitchen and Bath. Our designer, Mary Maney, took the time to listen to our needs and wants and designed a kitchen that we just love. The initial cost estimates turned out to be very accurate as did their estimate of how long the job would take. The team of construction professionals showed up on time each day and gave us periodic construction updates. The communication we received throughout the construction process was outstanding. We even made a small change to the design mid-project and that was handled quickly and efficiently. We highly recommend Crystal Kitchen and Bath.
Curtis Goreham-Voss: Our experience with Crystal Kitchen and Bath was fantastic. We needed to replace our cabinets, countertops, and backsplashes in our mid-70s split-level home. We also needed some additional storage space for food. Amber was great about listening to our thoughts, being conscious of our budget, and suggesting fantastic options. For the build process, Lisa gave us a 7 week schedule and everything happened exactly as she scheduled it. The contractors were careful, and thorough and friendly. Went from a 1980’s one-person small U-shaped kitchen with 2 drawers, few cabinets, and tiny dining room to a highly functional and fun space to cook and entertain.Before selecting CKB we went to several display homes and met with various remodelers. Met with CKB designer, Amber and she walked us through the showroom and stepped us through their process. Impressed, we moved forward and never looked back.Our designer, Amber was professional and thoughtful and best of all: she listened and heard our needs! She gave wonderful suggestions and came through with a perfect design for our kitchen.Once design was confirmed and schedule set, CKB arranged an on-site meeting with all the sub-contractors to ensure everyone was on the same page. Phil Bauer: We were looking for a company who could help us with a complete master bath remodel, as our travertine floor tile was cracking in several places resulting in a slow leak creating stains on our first floor ceiling, so we decided it was the right time for a complete update. The entire team at CKB, including Jolynn, Kaitlin and Lisa, together with each of their subcontractor teams, did a great job with our design, demo, construction and cleanup, keeping us timely informed and doing high quality work every step of the way!During the demo, we discovered the entire wood subfloor beneath the shower had rotted through due to improper construction when our house was built 14 years earlier, which was the source of the tile cracking and leak. They were able to repair the subfloor for only a modest increase to the final project cost, and still able complete the job close to the originally estimated schedule. There were a few other more minor items that had to be redone during the job but again, CKB made things right for us at no additional cost for the items needing additional attention. They weren’t happy until we were completely satisfied.We would definitely recommend choosing CKB for your remodel. The may not be the least expensive option, but the quality of their work, timeliness in all communications and focus on getting things done the way we expected was completely worth it to us. Shari Levitt: We have lived in our house for over 20 years. It was time for us to remodel our primary bathroom and the kid's bathroom on the second-floor level. I had been casually researching remodeling companies for a few years. I came across Crystal Kitchen & Bath, left a message for the company, and received a quick reply from Jennie Hjerpe.Jennie came to the house and followed up with three different digital designs for each bathroom. The designs matched our style perfectly. Jennie assisted us in picking out every detail necessary to complete our bathroom designs. The final designs were beautiful! We committed to having CKB continue to design complete floor plans for both bathrooms.The project included entirely gutting both our bathrooms. We received a detailed schedule and calendar, which CKB adhered to strictly. The contractors were timely, pleasant, and efficient. They even tidied up at the end of the day. We had a couple of hiccups in the process when we discovered some water damage on the roof and in the attic. CKB contacted a roofing company who came out promptly to look at the damage, provide an estimate, and complete the work adequately. Additionally, some of the fixtures we had ordered needed changing, and Jennie provided suggestions and made the changes quickly and satisfactorily.The cost for the project was on the very high end. However, it included the design, materials, contractors, labor, and more. We did have to check the work at the end of every workday to make sure everything was satisfactory. The contractors forgot to complete items on the design plan, so we contacted our project manager and resolved it. For example, we had to have the mirror installer fix a crooked mirror, the countertop guys redo the grout color, the painter came out several times to improve the paint job, and the plumber came back to repair the leaking faucet that was not correctly installed. We were very grateful our project manager calmly and effortlessly dealt with every problem until our punch list was complete.The entire process was a huge success. Our bathrooms are beautiful! We love the heated floors, bench in the shower, beautiful vanity, quiet fans, and the pocket door in the primary bath. We love the modern look, black fixtures and handles, and half glass open shower door in the kid's bath.We recently contacted CKB to prepare a new kitchen, family room, and laundry room design. We hope to commit to the plan soon and begin another remodel project for our family home. Wayne Hansen: . For the remainder of the condo, we repainted and replaced all the flooring. Jolynn and her staff presented some interesting and creative ideas for the kitchen, especially for a new and much larger island. We approved the new plans and the project got underway.In addition to detailed plans, Jolynn also presented a work schedule for the project and what specifically would occur each day of the six-week project. The schedule was adhered to and the project was completed on time. Because we are not Minnesota residents, Jolynn shepherded the project each step of the way keeping us informed throughout. When there were questions and/or issues, they were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. Jolynn’s staff and sub-contractors were excellent and their skills and workmanship were very evident in the final product.Now that the project is completed, we have lived in our “new” home away from home and couldn’t be more satisfied. Rebekah Elling: Absolutely love the full basement remodel. The designer found a way to incorporate all of our requests and did so in a way that was way better than I could have imagined. A previous owner had finished the basement themselves, we knew there were several electric, plumbing and hvac issues that needed to be corrected, while you cannot see that work in photos it is so reassuring knowing that we have a basement that is up to code. GNB uses an app where we could easily communicate with them and had access to the calendar of when and what certain things would be completed. Anytime we had any questions, concerns or wanted to make changes to the plan they were quick to respond. All the people on site were friendly and respectful. Scott Deutsch: Our work started out as an insurance claim for storm damage on the roof and siding. Chris and crew did a phenomenal job so we asked him to build our deck. MNRusco really delivered on my kitchen cabinet refacing! Wade Halvorson, the installer, did an outstanding job. Polite, dedicated, great work, and answered every question I had. Love the finished cabinets and can’t wait for the countertop to be installed.
Dennis Hleb was our installer. He did a great job communicating with us before and throughout the project. He did a great job on the install and was extremely efficient. We had our existing kitchen cabinets refaced and a block of brand new cabinets installed. We are definitely loving the redone kitchen.
My grandparents got work done by this company and said Jake Novak was out between November 14th-17th to do a job. He did excellent and represented the company very well! They wanted me to add the review seeing they don’t own a computer

The job is now complete and we are completely satisfied. Minnesota Rusco did exactly what they promised to do, how and when they said they would do it. And the installer, Dennis Hlad, was excellent. Mallori Hanson: We worked with Prima Construction this spring to renovate our kitchen and family room area. This included removing a wall and a few added change orders that all went smoothly. The team was easy to work with and took my ideas with their to make me a dream kitchen. They went above and beyond by creating a plan for adding a pot filler that was originally possible due to the location of the stove. They did not once comeback asking for more money, the research they did before starting gave us a clear understanding of how much it would cost and the only added costs came from changes orders we added. We lived in the house while they were working and they kept the house clean and the area safe for when we needed to walk through. I would highly recommend Prima, the martial's used were high quality and the results were beautiful!

Steve Ahearne-Kroll: Kim and her crew were great. They did a bathroom remodeling for us that they originally scheduled for 6-8 weeks long, barring anything unexpected. We have an old house, and they did find some unexpected plumbing problems behind the walls and floor. One of their work crew also tested positive for COVID right after starting his part of the project. Despite these unexpected things, and inspectors' erratic schedules, they stayed pretty much on schedule. Towards the end, two of our family members contracted COVID, and Kim worked super hard to finish so that we could have use of the bathroom during our quarantining efforts. It was a crazy process, but Kim and her crew were outstanding, and they finished only a week or so beyond the original 6-8 week schedule, despite all the obstacles. Our city inspector commented that rarely does he see such incredible craftsmanship, this topped the charts. However, the real star of the show, our superhero with true superpowers is Dan, our project manager. Dan didn't skip a beat when he started our project and walked in and was greeted by me with my whiteboard and very lengthy list of questions! LOL! My husband said I would scare him away, but it's how I roll! Dan never waivered regardless of what was happening, he was patient, kind, helpful, always answered ALL of my questions without ever making me feel like I was bothering him and if I wasn't asking questions, my husband was! ha! If there is ever anything that can ruffle his feathers, we never saw it. This was such a learning process for my husband and myself so inevitably, we made changes along the way and Dan's answer was always, "Sure, let me see what I can do" and anything that was possible, he made it happen! Working with Dan, there was always a calm assurance that everything was going to be ok and done in excellence. Dan took extra time to patiently help teach us through this huge learning process. There was never anything too big or too small that wasn't met with Dan's usual, "Sure, we can do that". He was also very present, if not at our house, then by phone or text. Dan is a master at multi-tasking as well. He constantly kept many plates spinning including keeping our schedule on track with all the contractors. Dan went many extra miles for us time and time again and executed our project at 200%! Dan was not happy until we were happy. Now that our project is complete, we will miss Dan's friendly smile and I'll be quite sad if I don't periodically see him just come in through the back door for a little snack and a visit. My only disappointment is that our dog now likes Dan more than us!!! We consider this Ispiri crew not just dear friends now, but family. We have another project we will be undertaking at some point and we wouldn't think of using anyone else but Ispiri. We have referred Ispiri to several friends and they too are just as happy as we are. Tony Carideo: The project went well, but it took a long time to complete. We were told by the salesperson that the whole job, which involved new appliances, reworking some cabinets, a new countertop, and an extensive new backsplash, would take about 3 weeks to a month. That was a little overoptimistic. We got started in early January and were finished in mid-July.All that said, it was an okay experience--and for a kitchen project, I'd consider that praiseworthy. We had to re-do some of the work on the cabinets and reorder a retrofit cabinet door that wasn't properly measured, but for the most part, things moved along, generally in fits and starts, but a lot of that was attributable to COVID--lack of people, lack of product, terrible delays in key pieces of the project, particularly a new oven/microwave, which was ordered in December and wasn't installed until early August.The people at TCHR were all really nice, pleasant to work with. And the price was very competitive. Our main contact, Paul Thomas, was great. It was clear that he was spread really thin, but he worked very hard to get to us when he could, and his work was excellent. I'd definitely recommend these folks. Daniel Koering: Twin City Home Remodeling replaced all 20 windows, which were original windows in our 1961 house. They also replaced the front entry door and screen door. We couldn't be happier with the windows, front door, and screen door that were installed by Steve, the installer. We were also very impressed by the painting of the wood trim around the windows, which was done by Jason. We were very happy about the time it took to complete the project, which was less than 9 days total. Julianna Harman: Wonderful. Twin Cities was able to be flexible with the schedule. Our baby came before our materials were manufactured. They were able to delay us to a better time. They completed the work slightly ahead of schedule. The work is fantastic. We only had a few guys in and out and they clearly did not cut any corners. The bathroom looks beautiful and the rest of our house stayed relatively dust free. I used them in the past for basement windows and I will use them again in the future for a kitchen remodel.

Erik Uner: We used Excel Builders to remodel our master bath. An office, master closet, and small master bath were converted to a large master bath and closet. Excel has a great team that is easy to work with and produces high quality work. Their designer translated our vision into a great design that we remain thrilled with to this day. Like all remodels, we ran into some issues. Trent and his team resolved every issue professionally. There was no need for discussion, every issue that arose was addressed and fixed. We are thrilled with our new master suite and can't imagine living here without it. Would we use Excel again? In fact, we did. New tile floor in a full bath and a new tile floor, custom cabinets, and granite countertops in the laundry room.
Andy Roy: We had our upstairs full bath completely gutted and remodeled this spring. Our project was finished ten days ahead of schedule and we are thrilled with the results. Our new bathroom is exactly what we wanted - brighter, more functional with more storage. The Excel workers and contractors were friendly, professional and thoroughly cleaned up the work area every day. From our first interaction, Trent was very transparent about the process, and had fantastic ideas about how to redo our space. He listened to our ideas, and with his designer we were able to create the perfect kitchen. He helped us work within our budget, and laid out different pricing/benefit options for all the decisions we needed to make. Despite us adding additional requests throughout the project, his team was able to complete everything within the same time frame. Very professional, great communication and we enjoyed getting to know the whole team. Shari: We contracted Excel Builders to complete a kitchen remodel. Trent and his team were committed to frequent communication, quality work and timely completion. There were a few glitches that came up during our remodel. Glitches are common but the way Trent and his team handled them was not. They addressed them quickly, honestly and came up with what we felt was a more than fair resolution. Our remodel included kitchen, bathroom and mudroom cabinets, sanding and refinishing our existing oak floor, installing a tile backsplash and granite countertops, adding new lighting and painting the kitchen and dining room. Excel is a value remodeler. They are not the cheapest but provide a fair price for a quality product and a superior experience. Our project was completed significantly ahead of the schedule – this was much appreciated due to the havoc a kitchen remodel creates. We are very satisfied with the work done by Excel and would definitely use them again.

The quality was better than we expected.Before we began the project, we interviewed several contractors to discuss the project. Most of them asked how much money we wanted to spend and what kind of work we wanted done, only to come back with a project list exceeding what we asked for and a price that went far over our budget. Excel Builders never asked what our budget was; they only asked what work we wanted done. They came back with a proposal that matched what we wanted to the letter, at a price that was within our budget.The designer that Excel Builders had work with us was fabulous. She spent time looking at our home and getting to know what style my wife and I liked, and helped put together a plan that we are extremely pleased with. She spent a great deal of time with us looking through various samples, and made that process much easier than it would have been without her.What really impressed us the most was the communication we had with Trent and everyone working with him once the project began. We received daily updates from Trent or one of the project managers so that we knew exactly what work was going to be done on what day. Whenever we had a question or problem, they responded very quickly via phone and email. They even arranged their project schedule to do the really messy work while we were on vacation.Basically, it seems like it's easy to find a contractor to provide you with quality work. Excel Builders backed up the quality work with excellent customer service.

This included kitchen expansion and complete remodel, remodel master bath, new windows, new trim, new wood floors on main level, new interior doors main level, new stone fireplace surround, paint interior doors on second floor, new stair parts and railings, reface vanity in a second bath, reface linen closet, new knockdown ceilings on main level, and painting entire main level.When we first met Trent from Excel Builders, we were immediately impressed with his professionalism, integrity, and commitment to customer satisfaction and quality. We thought the prices he quoted were fair; not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. We began work in late March 2013 and the original project plus many add-ons were completed by mid-June, with 100% completion by August 1. Trent kept us informed throughout the project about what was going to be happening and how long each step would take. Trent was very easy to get a hold of via phone, text or email, even on weekends if needed. When issues arose, Trent was ready with multiple solutions. We found the subcontractors Trent worked with were also professional and committed to quality work. All changes to the original project were priced out so we could decide if we wanted to move forward or not. As a result, there were no surprises at the end of the project in regards to budget. At one point, Trent even offered to watch our cats while we were on vacation during the project. Trent really cares about his customer’s satisfaction that much! In fact, it was apparent throughout the project, that our satisfaction was more important than his bottom line. We would highly recommend Excel Builders. It was a pleasure working with Trent and his crew at Excel Builders.

He had the project outlined week-by-week so we knew what to expect and had an idea when the job would be completed. Not only was the job done on time, it was done with high quality.
