Ben Glaros Guitar Lessons: what do users think?

Evan Quinnell: I highly recommend Ben Glaros for guitar lessons in Minneapolis! After years attempting to teach myself, lessons with Ben brought the extra kick I needed to learn. Ben is incredibly talented, knowledgeable, patient and creative. All qualities you want in a teacher. He's able to break down concepts and songs of all genres into approachable lessons. Most importantly, Ben understands the deeper meaning behind music and brings that energy to his teaching. If you're looking for lessons in the Twin Cities, Ben is your guy.

Joe Charboneau: I started to re-learn guitar over a year ago after a lapse of many decades. After a year of teaching myself with online content, I reached a plateau. I found Ben Glaros after some online searching for instructors and I’m glad I started working with him. He has a very steady and encouraging teaching approach that has helped me correct some poor habits and get on a path for faster learning. Ben is great to work with!

Sam Marzouk: Ben is AMAZING! He is not only incredibly knowledgable about the guitar, but as an uncanny ability to break down complex concepts in a simple, digestible way. Of equal importance, he is also just an incredibly nice guy! I never thought I'd get this far on the guitar and thanks to Ben, I have!

Robert Brown: Wow, what a great opportunity for me, and maybe for you…. Ben was impressively easy and open, and instructive! I’m eager to take more classes from Ben.

Terry Johnson: Update. See below as all is still valid. Two things I neglected to mention. Ben also taught me the framework of songwriting & music theory. Both, coupled with the guitar knowledge he imparted, enabled me to move to a musical career … 24 plus songs with recording & performance starting later this year.Ben Glaros is an outstanding guitar teacher. His knowledge is phenomenal. What I enjoy the most about Ben is his teaching style. He is enthusiastic, very patient, and knows how to instruct at the right level. He challenges you to explore areas of music that I never thought I would hear coming from my own guitar. And it sounds beautiful.I encourage you to take lessons from Ben. You will never be disappointed and I guarantee your knowledge of music will soon surpass your greatest expectations.

Andrew Cholakian: Ben’s a great teacher, knowledgeable, fun, patient, and with an incredible depth and breadth of guitar wisdom

Mark Zukor: I can’t recommend Ben highly enough! He's patient, supportive, knowledgeable, and makes learning fun—basically, everything you’d want in a guitar teacher. I’ve only had a handful of lessons so far but I’m amazed at how much I’ve gotten out of each one. Ben is a rare teacher who’s not only an expert musician but also has a real sense for how to teach. Somehow, he’s able to focus in on exactly what I need to know, at the right time, in the right way. Each lesson has unlocked a whole new level of understanding for me that’s been super exciting and inspiring!

Ian Crawford: I've been playing for 20+ years and I teach guitar as well, but I've always felt there were some large gaps in my skills and knowledge so I reached out to Ben for lessons. It was definitely the right choice! Ben is an excellent teacher whose student-centered approach makes lessons both relaxed and deeply engaging. I especially appreciate Ben's talent for explaining musical concepts clearly and giving practical assignments that offer just the right amount of challenge. On top of learning technical skills and theory, I've also gained a lot from Ben's insights into musicianship. Highly recommended!

David Shulman: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI am a rank beginner on guitar and an old dog to boot. Ben is a real pro and has a knack for imparting great insights and techniques. I leave each lesson inspired to continue learning. My only complaint is the lessons are over before you know it! Highly recommend.

Nils Wulfsberg: Positive:QualityI've been taking lessons with Ben for roughly a decade now, and he's really helped me grow as a musician. We've learned music from all types of genres ranging from hard rock, to jazz, to classical guitar. The location is nice and welcoming as well.

Ideal Music Lessons: what do users think?

Sara Wood: My son took pianos lessons at Ideal and it was a wonderful experience. His piano teacher was kind, patient, and skilled! The fees are straight forward and more affordable than other places we checked. My son was not too stoked about taking lessons until he had his first lesson. From there, he couldn’t wait for piano lessons every week.

Julia Balestriere: Such a wonderful company that cares for the students and it’s workers. Worked with David whom is a great music writer and such a wonderful teacher. Would recommend this company to anyone wanting to learn music!

Eric Elgin: Definitely the best musical instructor I've ever had! I worked with Mike for 2 years and would recommend him to people of all ages and abilities. I am a novice adult guitar player and I will certainly be seeking him out to work with my kids in the future. He is great with communication, organization and balancing some theory with songs students want to learn.

Kelly S: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe've take piano lessons virtually with both Mike and Justin and my sons have really enjoyed them and progressed in their skills.

dinagrin1: My kids have had music lessons with Mike for almost 7 years now. In fact, we moved cross country 3 years ago, and my kids still have their lessons with Mike. That is how fantastic of a music teacher Mike Sallow is; my children can't imagine working with anyone else. My kids were way past typical beginner guitar and bass methods very quickly after starting with Mike, so he developed his own, flexible methodology with them. All these years later, he still keeps them engaged and challenged, and they look forward to their lessons every week. From young child to teen, in person or online, Mike is simply the best music teacher a parent can hope for.

burkhard tiessen: Mike has been teaching our 12 year old for about 18 months now.Mike is patient.Mike is positiveMike is open minded to my sons wishesMike can create a note sheet by listening to a song.Since Mike plays multiple instruments, he “gets” it and can improvise.Mike is easy to work with, pleasant and just a nice guy.Lastly, he is local, running his own business.

Renee Lawrenz: Mike is an amazing music teacher. We have used him with both of my sons to teach guitar, drums and bass guitar. He has a very professional but fun and easygoing style that the kids reakly relate to. He makes sure that he teaches what his students want to learn to keep them engaged. He is reliable, punctual, extremely trustworthy, fair and easy to deal with. We always have felt extremely blessed to have been able to hire Mike. It is rare to find such a high caliber of musician and teacher.

Jennifer Boyko: My son has taken electric guitar lessons with Mike for about 2 years now. Mike is an amazing teacher. He is patience and caring. Mike used fun music to engage his students. My son loves his lessons and has learned a ton.

Taylored Adventures: Mike is a great and accommodating teacher. Love that he will come to your house for lessons and will work with your schedule. Liked that he would teach you any song you want to play and is very patient. I highly recommend him.

R Carlson: Wonderful service, comes to your home for the lessons. My grandson enjoys Mike and wanted lessons this Summer after starting with Mike in the Spring. That was a first and its because Aidan says he looks forward to learning more and has fun.

Twin Cities Music School: what do users think?

Adam Kay: Twin cities music works with all 3 of our boys. What I love most about TCMS is that each of my boys have varying interest levels in music. They meet each one of them where they are and keep the lessons fun and low pressure. They have a long view for music appreciation, and understand that not every kid needs to be a concert level performer. Ben has worked with my older sons from the start and has kept them engaged and enjoying the process from the start. I couldn’t recommend Kelly and Twin Cities Music school any more emphatically.

Shannon Langenfeld: Lessons are fun and engaging!! My child has learned a lot!

C R: Very impressed with this music school. They have helped my children blossom but have also kept them having fun, engaged and interested in learning music. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking.

Smart Axolotl: Good

Tracey Daniels: Staff are professional and work so well with the kids. They make it super fun to learn!

Jayna Paquin: My son loves taking guitar at TCMS! His instructor has him working on his favorite popular songs--that's really piqued his interest. He even performed at his school's "music share"--that's something I never expected from him. Scheduling is simple and when we ran into a conflict mid-quarter, TCMS moved his lesson time to something that worked for us. We highly recommend TCMS!!

Jeff Tidball: Phenomenal ownership, staff, and love of music. Very highest recommendation.

Shaun McClary: Our son started drum lessons with Ben about mid-way into the pandemic. Classes were virtual and surprisingly good. I had my doubts but Ben's skills and relatability were not dependent on in-person sessions. We've now transitioned to in-person but TCMS has kept virtual classes an option for all students. The flexibility is great and this organization is run very well.

Mary Brooks: So happy we found Twin Cities Music School! Sam is wonderful with our little girl and has fed her passion for music! I would recommend this school and any of its instructors.

Joe Warner: What a great school! My kids were given a gift certificate for music lessons at this school and it is awesome! The instructors are kind and patient, they teach everything from guitars and drums to studio engineering, and they seem to be supremely knowledgeable from top to bottom. The space is about perfect! In the waiting room alone they have video games and toys to keep the kids happy, a sweet baby grand piano, and even art on the walls for us bigger kids. We are going to purchase the rest of the lessons to complete the session as it is a great value. Twin Cities Music School is truly a gem, my kids had a blast!

The Spencer House: My daughter takes piano with Kelly and voice with Brooke. She looks forward to her lessons every week and loves her teachers. Thanks for instilling a love of music in these young minds.

Kim Gartner: Our little one had such a fun, first experience learning music with Kelly! Kelly did a great job keeping our son engaged using a variety of instruments and techniques. So happy we started our music lesson journey on the right foot! Thanks TCMS!

Sarah Lehmeier: My 10 yr old daughter absolutely loves her piano lessons with Kelly. He is patient, kind, and super fun! It is obvious that he loves what he does. Thank you Twin Cities Music School!

Darcie White: My son has been a student of Kelly's for fifteen years and still loves seeing him each week!

Mark Gilbert: My son has been taking lessons with Adam at Twin Cities Music School for years. He loves his lessons, and has learned a lot. Teachers Adam and Kelly are both awesome with kids and awesome music teachers. The sign-up process is also well-run and efficient.

Kristin Lawson: Very friendly! The teachers are also very responsive to what the kids are interested in playing, which makes my son excited to play.

AJ Burger Sánchez: This is an excellent music school. It's small. The teachers are warm, friendly, patient and encouraging, and can creditably teach several instruments, which allows your student to bond and stay with one instructor, if you choose. My 7 yo and I have both taken lessons with Kelly and he's great working with different age groups, ability levels, and learning styles. We highly recommend TCMS!

Mike Holden: My son has been seeing Adam since they were at Swift Music. Adam is an amazing instructor and TCMS has gotten everything right that Swift couldn't. The communication is always great and their new setup is awesome.

Minnesota School Of Music: what do users think?

Tyler Stanley: My kids are officially rock stars. MN School of Music is a top-notch program that is invaluable to the community. My daughter was 7 when she started learning the drums with Mr. Martin over a year ago, and we are looking forward to her playing Gold Lion by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs for her first recital. I was so impressed with the staff that I started my son on the guitar with Mr. Nelson. Now, both my kids play Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes at home. As a professional teacher, I saw my kids struggle with school after the pandemic. After enrolling them with MNSOM, I have seen tremendous growth in confidence toward their school work and sense of creativity. Thank you, Eric, for what you have built.

Jennifer Zafke: We have been attending Minnesota School of Music for a month now, from a recommendation from a friend whose kids attend there as well. I am highly impressed at the level of patience shown, the positive praise, and meeting each kid where they are at. My kids have learned so much in a short time and it’s definitely sparked their love of music! Thanks Eric for all you do!

Laura Christopher: My daughter has been coming to Mn school of Music for about 6 months and we love it. She is 14 and her teacher is fabulous. St. Paul School of Music: what do users think?

John Doe: Rick is a great teacher and I’m really glad that I found this school of music. I wasn’t sure if classes would benefit me or not but I am positive now that lessons are key, as long as you have a great teacher like Rick. He gets to know you and your goals and helps you to get there with a great method. I’m very thankful for him and the school. I do online lessons since I moved and the quality is just as good. Thank you so much!

R M: Simin Fani welcomed our teenager into her beginner session with kindness, gentleness and smiles. She brought our daughter out of her shell with no pressure or expectations. Simin provides a comfortable and calm environment that is easy to learn in. The lesson books are wonderful, and Simin helps with personalized notes on the pages so that working on the music at home is understandable and meaningful. Our daughter thoroughly enjoys the classes and continuing on with Simin!

Brittany Chaffee: I love St.Paul School of Music! Working with Rick to get set up with classes was entirely seamless. And my teacher was incredible. I wanted to take up violin for the first time and I didn't feel intimidated or out of place. Great for beginners and advanced! Highly recommend!

Carly Anderson: Wonderfully inviting group of people, teachers that are flexible with scheduling and 2 recitals x year where students get to showcase their work! Very motivating to practice when there is a performance to work towards every 6 months. Lots of exposure to other instruments as well. Teachers make it fun.

Megan Dunsmore: Priscilla has been an amazing instructor for our son who has a developmental delay. She has adapted the approach to meet his needs and his progress has been incredible.

Sean Grimes: Learning with Priscilla has been fun and easy! I am an adult learning piano for the first time and lessons here have been transformational in my progress and attitude of learning an instrument. No matter what style you are looking to learn I highly recommend starting here!

Mack Schlitz: 😲

Alexa Blanc: This is a great music school, I had a fantastic experience learning from Pricilla. The environment is welcoming and a nice place to be.

Charles Guan: My 7 year old is having a wonderful experience so far taking piano lessons from teacher, Sisi Fani. Sisi has extensive training in music education and has been a joy for my daughter to learn from. Her approach is very kind, friendly, and gentle focusing on creating enjoyment in playing. Each lesson has been very well structured and paced. The recommended piano book has great songs with fun interactive features. Sisi definitely takes the time to build trust with each of her students and gets to know them. The building itself is very inviting and well curated. A great place to learn music. I would highly recommend the St Paul School of Music, especially Sisi for piano lessons.

Amy Stenftenagel: , he’ll be booked!Thank you so much, Drew!

Frankie D: What I like the most about my lessons with Rick is his easy going nature. Friendly, yet efficient with his time management during my lessons. I feel like going home and playing guitar for a couple more hours after spending just a short period of time with him and that's why I personally take lessons, to be inspired as well as taught. I always leave with tabs or notes or licks or whatever we've been working on also documented on paper so that when I go to play the following day I have it in front of me for a quick refresher if needed. And for the record, just because he's a easy going guy and relates well to his students doesn't mean he can't play! I say "what about this song or that song" and he either knows it off of the top of his head or 10 seconds listening on YouTube and he has it so he can then show me how to play it. I feel like he has an authentic interest in my development and progress and I can assure you from previous lesson elsewhere that this is definitely not always the case. I look forward to growing as a guitarist at the St Paul School of Music and would encourage anyone to try a handful of lessons to see what I'm talking about. I think you'll see/feel it too!

Ann Osendorf: Love this place. Good teachers. Great location. Dustin is a talented musician—very kind and patient with his young students.

Dongjay Lee: Rick helped me a lot with not only learning the techniques of guitar, but also every excitement of songs that I play each week, background of it and much more. He helped me to learning guitar is enjoyable and fun experience. He is super nice and great teacher who can tailor your skills, no matter what level you are, Rick will find great plan to improve your skills. 1000% highly recommended.

Aaron Gesmer: Enrolling at the St. Paul School of Music has truly changed my life forever. Before starting lessons with Rick, I was a “self-taught” guitar player who kinda knew some tricks here and there and could play some songs, and I had been doing this for several years. It can be daunting and overwhelming navigating the world of learning guitar, but I can gladly say that in the short 3 months since I’ve started, I’ve improved so much! Rick does such an awesome job of gauging where to start in his curriculum, and I love how much he has expanded my taste in music. I cannot recommend St. Paul School of Music enough, I’m so excited to continue learning and practicing with Rick!

Amy Thompson: This place is amazing. I cannot more highly recommend St. Paul School of Music! I don't know how I landed on the two most skilled teachers in the Twin Cities, but Rick on guitar, and Pricilla for voice lessons has changed my musical landscape forever. I've been singing all my life and playing guitar for 20 years - I wasn't sure what lessons would give me but I took a chance. So many new doors in me have already opened musically, and that's just after a few weeks. If you're looking to get started in music, or have been at it a while and not sure lessons are for you - take this nudge: DO IT! This place is an absolute gem, and the people make it that way. Thanks SPSM!

Robin Guerrero: My 8 year old daughter is taking piano lessons at St Paul School of Music and we have been extremely impressed with the quality of instruction and overall studio experience. We recently started guitar lessons and they have been very flexible in allowing us to try it out and see if it’s a good fit. I’m so happy we found this school.

Maia Ellenburg: My experience at the St. Paul School of Music has been nothing short of excellent. My instructor, Rick Stack, has been awesome to learn from. In addition to being very talented and knowledgable, Rick is very adaptive and accomodating in his approach to teaching. I would recommend this school to anyone interested and passionate about learning music - it is a great place to grow.

Will Stein: Extremely happy with our experience at St. Paul School of Music for guitar lessons for our kids. Rick is always responsive and helpful when there are questions. The teachers were fun and patient and tailored lessons to where our kids were currently at, in terms of skill/experience level. A wonderful local business, growing a love for playing music in our community!

Nick Reyes: I've been taking guitar lessons with Drew for about 6 months now. I've always had a great experience and feel welcomed, even as an adult learner. I highly recommend checking the school out. All the teachers are great!

Mischa Ortega May: I have had piano here for 9 years and the atmosphere and teachers are all super nice.

Arianna Xu: Ive been going here for 8+ years it has been pretty good

Alyssa Joye: My experience with MacPhail was nothing but amazing. My voice teacher, Thomas Speckhard was the best. I had to pause my voice lessons because of school, but I hope to return again once my schedule is more manageable. I learned so much about voice and singing from teacher Tom, and I appreciate his approach for an aspiring-frustrated singer like myself. Lol. He is the best! Thank you, MacPhail.

Brighter Minds Music: what do users think?

Bethany Griffith: started taking piano lessons about a year ago with Mr. David. We love his teaching style which is both informative and encouraging. He is able to challenge my daughter without pushing her to the point of frustration. He also helps her understand different musical elements of the songs which allows her to gain a greater understanding of each piece. We absolutely love Mr. David and the teachers/staff at Brighter Minds Music! A family friend recommended the place to us and we're so glad they did!

Mercy Ephrem: My son has been taking piano lessons from Brighter minds music school for the last 9 months and he really enjoys ! ❤️

Dany Villacís: Our daughters have been at Brighter Minds for a year and half. Our 8 year old takes voice and violin lessons, our 11 year old takes voice lessons. Both of them have grown musically so much since joining Brighter Minds. They have outstanding teachers, that keep them engaged, challenged and motivated to get better! We love watching them perform and becoming more confident. Thank you Brighter Minds for all you do! 100% recommended!!!

Kiersten Coon: My son has been taking drum lessons from Brighter Minds for almost 6 months now and he really enjoys it! He's learning and improving so much, and his love of music is only growing stronger. He really looks forward to his weekly lesson, and we couldn't be happier with the program. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning an instrument.

Emily Shimota: We have been with Brighter Minds for over a year and a half. We absolutely love them! We were excited to have a music school close by the taught ukulele. My 8 year old daughter really enjoys her teacher David - would highly recommend. He makes the lessons fun! We also really enjoy all of the things they do to keep kids interested! From the costume recitals to the All Star milestone awards. A true gem!

megan ramirez: Attentive instructors. Flexible timing. Consistent instruction. Would recommend for anyone trying to broaden their musical talent!

Luther Timberlake: Nate is a great instructor. He is patient and well-versed. My son has been going to him for over a year and has made significant progress.

Michelle M: Great learning experience for our child! Love the flexibility with lessons. Thank you!

Jenna Quade: My son has been taking piano lessons with Ryan for the last several months. I am very pleased with how much he has learned in such a short time. He is enthusiastic about the lessons and eager to go. Ryan does a great job with him. He knows just how to meet him where he’s at at each lesson. He is eight years old, so this can be a tough job. I can’t wait to see how much he grows in the coming years.

Sandi Johnson: David is very patient and an excellent piano teacher who is able to individualize his lessons to accommodate the needs of each child.

Mary Ann Zastrow: Both my kids have gone here for a while. Chris at the front is amazing. The teachers are so attentive to the kids. Location is so convenient. Couldn't be happier.

Dawn Mosbrucker: Our son takes drum lessons and loves it! His teacher is so supportive of everything he tries. He definitely meets the student where they are at regarding age and musical ability.

Irina Meachem: An amazing music school! Our son loved his private lessons and really connected with the instructor. They were so helpful with scheduling and keeping us organized, and it’s been overall a very positive experience.

Bela Jibben: I’m 17 so finding music lessons is harder at my age. I was never made to feel young just because I may not be advanced and that can happen at certain places. I get to sing the songs I like and learn techniques that keep my voice healthy and make my singing sound better. I also am disabled and have a service dog. They have never once made me feel like I’m unwanted there or that I was too hard to handle. They are very accommodating and treat me like everyone else and with kindness.

Stephanie Surine: to take music lessons.

Amanda Fuchs: My daughter has been taking guitar lessons with Shane. She is learning a lot and he makes it fun.

S Nygaard: What a great find! My son is just starting guitar lessons here and he is not very impressed easily. This place outdid every expectation we had! From the initial call it was an easy and accommodating experience the teacher and staff are great! The reward program is awesome for him. For kids they are so kind here very helpful and knowledgeable. Glad we signed up.

Kelsey Bum: Our two kiddos have taken piano lesson at Brighter Minds for over one year. Emily runs a wonderful program and the teachers have been outstanding. They keep the kids engaged and meet them where there are at on the day of lessons, silly or focused alike. Piano has been fun, not a chore, thanks to the teachers. They never complain about going and always have smiles when they’re done.

Erin Reykdal: My daughter loves her piano lessons with Abbey! Aside from her teacher being amazing, having lessons at Brighter Minds means more flexibility when we have to reschedule and more perks to keep Emerson motivated like ribbons and trophies when she hits different milestones. I also love the ability to pick and choose recital dates. There is no pressure for my daughter to participate and when she does, there are multiple dates to choose from. Highly recommend!
