Levi Purdum: I enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and open to conversation. I'm not an artist and certainly an amateur observer of art who greatly enjoyed the leading questions and engagement when offered by staff. In particular the lanky young employee who politely informed me of their water bottle policy before I entered the first exhibit also proved to be a wealth of information. In the very next room another employee successfully challenged me into recognizing a word in what largely appeared to be a jumble of chaos. The statue garden was fantastic and actively enjoyed by children adding a practical value to the inherent aesthetic value.

The Museum of Russian Art: what do users think?

Gayle M: The museum was fabulously curated, and the building is a work of art in and of itself. They had exhibits from their permanent collection, cartoons and political art, surrealist work and modern large sculptures with natural wood and metal. Each artist had a story - many were about their difficulty pursuing their art in Russia. It was an incredible testimony to the freedoms we take for granted here in the United States.

Chang-Tsan Lu: We came here through the program "Museum on Us" by the Bank of America, and I feel grateful to have the opportunity to visit this little gem in the Twin Cities region. The museum is small, but the collection of art does shed some light on the Soviet culture. We enjoyed being here.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Painting, sculpture, mixed media, Tsarist, Revolutionary, Soviet, post-collapse, abstract, representational, humorous, poignant, surreal and plain. Also a fantastic music venue. The architecture, bright interiors, oh and a great gift shop.Visited on Weekend …

Sherelle Harris: The art there was very interesting, leaving us with a lot to talk about.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

Eric Gustafson: Incredible! Well, it's credible, but very.

Milton Siegele: "The work of art is born of the artist in a mysterious and secret way. From him it gains life and being. Nor is its existence casual and inconsequent, but it has a definite and purposeful strength, alike in its material and spiritual life."~Wassily KandinskyWhat a beautifully pleasant surprise if you love art!We were wowed by the permanent collection and a few quite extraordinary pieces like:Milkmaids, Novella, 1962Nikolai N. BaskakovOil on Canvas, 47 x 90Gift of Pam and Jack Safar, 2015The architectural design of the gallery.is beautiful too.-The Museum of Russian Art is the only museum in North America dedicated to the preservation and presentation of Russian art and artifacts. They feature a dynamic rotation of exhibitions providing a gateway to understanding Russia's history, its heritage, and its art through the masterworks of its greatest artists.

Mike Olinger: Smaller but very nice art museum featuring artists of Slavic origins and local art as well.

Sandra Pritchard: We thought it would be a quick visit. No, it was well thought out. A 20 minute film on the history of the Mills and Minneapolis. Then the Flour Tower, inspired. I am not going to give away secrets 😁. The whole experience of the Mill City Museum was awesome. It is a must to see. Views of the Mississippi from the observation deck were breathtaking.

Richard Erickson: Wonderful museum. About 2 to 3 hours for a visit. Great for kids with lots of hands-on exhibits. The flour tower is a cool exhibit. Great place to introduce people to the history of Minneapolis.

Jillissa Molnari: I recently visited Mill City Museum and was amazed by its rich history and unique setting. The museum, built within the ruins of the Washburn A Mill, offers a captivating glimpse into the revolutionary milling processes that shaped Minneapolis into the flour milling capital of the world in the late 19th century. The museum showcases the technological advancements of the Washburn-Crosby Co., later General Mills, and how it brought fine wheat flour to the masses. Walking through the National Historic Landmark, I could feel the significance of this site and its impact on the local community. The Minnesota Historical Society has done a fantastic job preserving and presenting this important piece of history. A must-visit for history buffs and anyone interested in Minneapolis' industrial heritage. The interactive Flour Tower was amazing, including a ride to the top of the mill and being able to see much of the Mississippi River!

Minnesota Center For Book Arts: what do users think?

Deborah C: Truthfully, I visited because I heard about the gift shop from social media and was blown away. The shop features a ton of local artists, and artists from marginalized communities. They have a huge selection of zines, prints, and greeting cards. I ended up getting four greeting cards and two stickers, but I would've absolutely gone home with more if my bank account allowed for it.

Osman Bayram: Great peoples 👍

Greta Casey: Great makerspace for book artists, library, gathering place for writers, and a nice little gift shop. Added bonus: Milkweed Press!

Jens Holmboe: This place is the best. I have been there twice with my classes and, as a teacher, the experience for the kids is superb.

Chelsey S: Wonderful workshops available from passionate artist professionals. Once you have some experience with the techniques and equipment you can sign up for open ‘lab’ or commit to renting studio time.I attended Marbling 1 workshop with Michelle Blodgett and found it well taught..and the form very addicting!

Seesaw Ching: Love it

Max Schaffer: This place is totally incredible, got an amazing print here I’ve cherished for years and there’s awesome resources for learning all sorts of amazing art styles!

Justin Lee Miller: The best cafe in the neighborhood. Gift shop is nice. Ironically, they don't carry stationary. I guess no one writes letters but me.

Angela Zhang: The set up is very creative and very very nice. The shop is full of trinkets for bookworms and artists. The little zine exhibit there during my visit was great.

rod mason: Printing, typesetting, other book arts

Marti Simmons: Lots of artists and book binders at work. Great store if you love paper and paper arts!
