At Hazelden Betty Ford's Center for Teens, Young Adults and Families, you will find inpatient and outpatient addiction and mental health treatment programs that are developmentally appropriate, personalized and evidence-based.

Hazelden Betty Ford clinicians address substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression, at the same time in our specialized residential treatment program. This comprehensive approach to treating co-occurring disorders (also known as dual diagnosis) provides integrated care that offers our patients the best opportunity for lasting recovery.

Our specialized programs and services for adolescents, teens and young adults include:

Adolescents, teens and young adults in our inpatient drug rehab program live on site in gender-informed residential units and follow a full daily schedule of treatment activities. Each patient has an individualized treatment plan developed by their care team, which consists of addiction counselors, mental health professionals and medical professionals. The care team continually assesses the patient's progress based on clinical and behavioral milestones and develops post-treatment recommendations to support ongoing recovery and well-being.

Our addiction rehab center in Plymouth offers specialized addiction treatment for opioid use disorder. Known Comprehensive Opioid Response with the Twelve Steps (COR-12), the program is designed to ease the discomfort of opioid withdrawal, reduce cravings and help patients engage more successfully in substance abuse treatment.

This targeted approach incorporates individual and group therapy, lectures and medication-assisted treatment, as clinically advised. Hazelden Betty Ford experts developed COR-12 to help patients achieve stable, Twelve Step-based recovery and, ultimately, freedom from drug use.

The program has a proven track record of keeping patients engaged in recovery activities and support over a longer duration—allowing for the extra time needed to regain health and hope, learn essential coping skills, and form connections that support lasting sobriety.

Outpatient substance abuse programming at our treatment center for teens and young adults is individually focused and paced to meet the needs of each patient. As patients reach clinical and behavioral milestones, outpatient sessions are reduced.

Our high-intensity outpatient program—known as day treatment or partial hospitalization—includes the same core components as inpatient treatment. Patients can pair high-intensity outpatient programming with our sober-living option, residing with peers on campus in our safe and supportive recovery community.

Intensive outpatient treatment (IOP)—available both virtually and in person—provides special-focus programming for adolescents, teenagers and young adults. To start, most patients participate in IOP four days a week for three hours a day. As clinical milestones are met, treatment sessions are scheduled less frequently. For patients in need of mental health services, we coordinate individual, group and family therapy sessions.

Hazelden Betty Ford's mental health assessments and counseling sessions are available on an outpatient basis to the general public (individuals 12 years of age and older). Our psychiatrists, psychologists and other licensed mental health professionals can help if you are struggling with depression, anxiety, loss, grief, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or other mental health conditions.
