Banle Gaar: Needed some incense for a project I was working on. Interesting little spot chalk full for your needs in the "dark" arts. Plenty of minerals, herbs in back, books plentiful in history and teachings. Checked out the incense and chose two and the worker asked if I had the correct apparatus for one of them. Told them what I was trying to achieve and they said it should work. They also threw in a free stick incense to try out. Long lasting, works outside better than others because it was actual resin. They then informed me why you get headaches because most incense use glue. Sniffing glue is bad m'kay.Worker knew their shop and was helpful. Thanks a lot!

I feel like this will be addressed with his staff after I explained some people are timid and intimidated walking into a new store and would rather be left to their own devices than to be helped. I updated the rating too. Thank you for being open to hearing me out. I appreciate it.I have wanted to visit this store for a while so this last weekend my husband and I decided to stop by. We walked in and one of the workers there asked what we were looking for which was weird because it was a direct question as if we came in for something specific. I said nothing, just wanted to look around and she was insistent on figuring out what we wanted but then said that if we wanted something specific to just ask. Ok.My husband and I wandered around talking within our selves and we were in another room with crystals. I tuned around and there is another woman behind me pretty close listening to us. I ignored it but wondered when she came into the store because I didn’t hear anything. So my husband and I were close, talking to each other quietly when the 2nd woman piped in to our conversation and that is when I realized she wasn’t a customer but someone who worked there.For the rest of our visit it was the same, I would mention something to my husband and she would pipe in. No privacy between my husband and I to discuss what we wanted.I felt like we were heavily being watched. I am white and not POC like the girl a few months ago who also felt targeted. I bought a few things but felt unwell after leaving the store. My anxiety was high alert. I have no clue why we were being watched so closely. We had winter coats on which is normal for this type of year. If they have had this much theft then they should invest in glass cases to keep the crystals in so they can monitor theft.Unfortunately I won’t go back. I felt so uneasy there and not trusted it left a bad experience for me.
Jessica Rae Shipley: Lots of cool stones, variety of shapes to pick from, not supposed to really touch anything until you buy it, which is understandable and the most beautiful collection of singing bowls that they are more than willing to play for you, only complaint is that compared to online sellers the singing bowls are VERY expensive.

It's beautifully laid out despite a rather small footprint. I needed to get some real sage and after doing a little Googling, I felt like White Buffalo looked to be my best bet with getting something prepared with proper intent. I easily found what I was looking for but stumbled into something I didn't know I was looking for as well.The staff is incredibly helpful, kind, patient, and full of information and knowledge. After doing a circle or two around the store, looking at this and that, I saw a calendar that was showing classes they help facilitate and offer. At register while checking out I inquired about a few things and was given the card of a person that specializes in areas I've been incredibly drawn to my entire life but have never had the means to help cultivate them. I will be reaching out this week to see where this newly found path leads. Much love and thanks to those that lent me a hand today.If anyone is looking for a gift or materials for themselves that specializes in the metaphysical, I'd absolutely make this your first stop. There was some confusion as to the whereabouts of book #2 but the store clerk made it her mission to find it long after I had resigned to not getting the book this day. Well, she succeeded. Do NOT buy on Amazon. Support independent booksellers. You get more than just great literature. You get passionate, helpful humans.
Tiko Lieou: Great to have this independent bookstore in the neighborhood. With so many businesses closing in Uptown, glad to see they're still doing pretty well. It's nice they seem to always have a weekly author event. Big plus for being dog friendly with treats at the front.

The staff was so helpful. They helped me find a used copy of a book I was looking for at a great price. I've been back since my first visit, and am sure I will be back many times in the future. For a perfect little 'self care' treat on a weekday I highly suggest stopping in and picking up a new book and then making your way over to Kim's a couple of doors down for a happy hour drink while you start your new book.
