RETHINK Tailoring & Sewing Lounge: what do users think?

Cathy Swope: Rethink has retail too! Really cute vintage clothes in great condition plus upcycled items including jewelry you won't see everywhere. And they have added fabric too, it's not online but they have posted pics on their insta.

Logan Elizabeth: Rethink Tailoring is the place to go for repairs and clothing upcycle projects. Kristen and her team are so lovely and talented. My favorite part of Rethink is their commitment to sustainability and their goal of keeping garments out of the landfill!!

Molly Stoltz: Love the people at Rethink, they are so creative!

Bridget Adams: Super friendly and helpful! I'm really looking forward to taking more classes

Marky Marc: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWow! I'm very impressed with Kristen's skill set and expertise. I had some tricky alterations that were done to perfection. I'm so appreciative of Rethink Tailoring's work and mission. I will recommend to all my friends seeking alterations. Thank you for being in the neighborhood!Service:Alterations

Atlas Gizzi (Anna): They have my business for as long as they’ll take it! They make the best masks and do top notch tailoring

Merry Yeager: We just bought more masks from Kristen at Rethink, I can tell she put a lot of thought and effort into her design. It's nearly impossible to find a universal mask that will fit everyone perfect, but she got pretty close!! I like how the elastic can be tightened easily and I do think that helped some of my fitting issues. She even has a how to video for her masks! Mostly we love the playful fabric she chooses and I feel good supporting a business that cares so much about their community. Rethink has multiple volunteer and donations projects for COVID-19 locally. I'm also really stoked to get some sewing classes from her!

Madeline Strom: Rethink Tailoring is a community minded, super awesome clothing and fabric upcycling resource run by a totally beautiful human. We got four reversable face masks and they are super well made and we love them.

Modehaus Bridal Atelier: what do users think?

Mariya Swanson: Chelsea is soooo knowledgeable and extremely gifted at her craft, I highly recommend her to all brides! My bustle and alterations all turned out beautiful.

Brittany Dorshak: Chelsea is absolutely AMAZING. Best place in MPLS to get your dress altered hands down!

Brooke Biesiada: Another bride here just to say how incredibly AMAZING Chelsea and her team is! She made me feel so comfortable and every appointment was a beautiful private experience. She knows exactly what to do to make your dress fit like an absolute glove! Also, made me the most beautiful custom veil I was so obsessed with and added little sleeves that matched my vision. If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you Chelsea for making my dress perfect for my big day ❤️

Grace Bosma: Chelsea was amazing to work with! If you don’t get your dress altered here, you’re missing out on a great experience. I know so many other brides who went to other shops were worried about their dress being altered terribly but for me with Chelsea? That thought never even crossed my mind! I knew she would do a wonderful job! Her attention to detail is amazing and she truly wants to provide the best experience for all of her brides. I also felt like she was very reasonably priced!

Jessica Lewis: Chelsea is amazing! My dress was so big and falling off of my body when it was delivered from the bridal store. Chelsea was so reassuring that it was no big deal and worked her magic. Just like that, it fit like a glove! She put so much thought into the bustle so that it would flow naturally and not take away from the dress. She took her time to make a diagram and teach my mom and sister how to do it. I can not thank her enough for my wonderful experience, I recommend her to everybody. You and your gown will be in great hands with her!

Megan Ritchie: My wedding dress alteration experience went so smoothy thanks to Chelsea! As someone who is 5 feet 0 inches tall, with a petite frame, I was so nervous that my dream dress wasn't really one that was initially created for MY body type. When I found Chelsea, all of my worries went away. Not only is she exceptionally talented, but is genuinely just an amazingly kind person. The final gown and custom veil felt like a dream come true, and both fit perfectly. Everyone was blown away at how beautiful my dress was, and I couldn't rate Chelsea any higher- I wish I could give 10 stars! THANK YOU Chelsea for making me so comfortable, and being a part of the best day of my life.

Cheyanne Messer: and it turned out BETTER than expected!! I absolutely loved it!

Nicole Polzin: I’m just here as another reviewer talking about their 5/5 experience because Chelsea is an absolute gem to work it. I was very nervous about my strapless dress as I didn’t want to be like so many others who spend most of their wedding day pulling up their dress but that worry immediately stopped once I found Chelsea. They took in my dress to where it was snug and comfortable, shorted it and added additional boning for structure and it was AMAZING. I am so pleased with everything from my experience.

Julia Fomby: I had the BEST experience! I brought my wedding dress in for a few minor alterations, and my expectations were absolutely exceeded! The whole experience was so relaxed and easy, and she did a GREAT job with my bustle, it was beautiful. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Lindsay S: Chelsea saved my dress. After the bridal salon ordered me a dress TWO sizes too big, we had to take my dress in SO much. My dress had an open back and open sides, so to take it in we first almost had to completely sew up the beautiful open sides and I was heartbroken. Thankfully Chelsea was able to take my dress in from the back, preserving its original look and still making it fit me despite the salon’s mistake. She was incredibly kind and patient as we adjusted, readjusted, and re-readjusted things to make it fit. It came out beautiful! Would recommend Chelsea to anyone looking for top notch alterations.

dana casella: I had such a great experience with Chelsea!!! She is so knowledgeable and so wonderful at what she does. Thank you so much Chelsea! My dress was a total vision because of her alterations!

Cecilia Di Caprio: Chelsea is INCREDIBLE!!! I am so so happy that I was able to work with her to design my custom DREAM wedding dress. I knew that I wanted something fun and colorful, and Chelsea delivered. Not only is she amazingly talented, but she is kind, thoughtful, and was such a pleasure to work with. Her studio is beautiful and inviting and I always left our fittings with a smile on my face.Chelsea took my idea for a colorful floral wedding dress and brought it to life. I came with her with some general pictures and ideas, and I could never have dreamed of such an amazing dress. She also, unexpectedly, brought in a friend to help design my own custom fabric!! We all worked together to create the most beautiful fabric that captured everything that I wanted. In the end, the dress was exquisitely executed and perfectly fitted. My Mom was also very involved in the design process, and eventually asked Chelsea to make her Mother of the Bride outfit. My Mom chose a suit from one of her existing collections, and Chelsea made it in a stunning magenta color. My Mom was in love with her outfit, and I would not be surprised if she gets it made in multiple colors.I wish I could have another wedding just so that I could work with Chelsea to design another dress. To all new brides - run, don't walk, to Modehaus and get yourself a Chelsea-original!!

Tori & Jared Sandlotz: Not only did Chelsea go above and beyond for my wedding dress sleeves + "wings" vision, but she also built from scratch my mom's custom suit. With my desire for a splash of color in my sleeves which I had removed and built paired with my moms desire for an outfit unlike the assumed gender norm for a woman's outfit, we came to Chelsea with an unusual and potentially heavy lift project. My mom would drive over from Wisconsin and I down from the north to Minneapolis to make numerous day excursions together. This added to the special build up to the wedding day. In the end, there is NO ONE else I would have wanted to work with. Folks mentioned they've never seen a dress like mine and were stunned by the sleeves. My favorite part were the wings. A lovely alternative to a veil.Chelsea has the ability to uplevel your outfit, while setting yours apart from anything out there. I will be getting my dress preserved with the sleeves on main display. As for my mom, she has a custom suit she actually feels comfortable in for the rest of her life.We are so pleased and will have these memories forever. Sounds cheesy, but this time and creation all together was something I will cherish for as long as I will remember

Beth Lube: Chelsea did an incredible job on my wedding gown. I really trusted her process and felt confident every step of the way! I felt so beautiful and received many compliments on my dress - which would NOT have happened without her care and skill!

Wendy Houghton: Chelsea is LOVELY to work with! She is personable, timely, professional, and is very knowledgeable with alterations and sewing. I would recommend her to anyone I know. I just picked up my dress yesterday and it fits like a dream. I will be picking up my custom veil next week and know she will do a great job!

Sarah Matthiesen: Chelsea was amazing. So communicative, easy to schedule with and really made me feel at easy. She did an excellent job in my alterations, from arm holes, bustle and hem. I would highly recommend her to any bride that needs alterations.

Haley & Dan Dennehy: I highly recommend using Modehaus for wedding dress alterations. Chelsea was so kind, thorough, and professional throughout the process and she really did an amazing job on my dress. I got so many compliments that it fit me perfectly!

Lauren Brown: Chelsea is truly amazing. She is so welcoming and so very talented. She took the time to truly listen to what I was looking for and was always willing to tweak things to make it exactly how I wanted my dress. In addition to alterations, Chelsea designed and created custom removable sleeves for my dress. They were so beautiful that I never ended up taking them off! My dress turned out better than I could have imagined! Highly, highly recommend! All photos from Tom Thornton Photography

Courtney Pelissero: Chelsea did an amazing job altering my wedding gown and creating custom straps to turn my strapless dress into the dress of my dreams. The straps looked like a perfect part of the dress. Chelsea made sure the dress fit perfectly, shortened it without loosing the beautiful scalloped train, and added a really nice bustle. Working with Chelsea was super easy and I would recommend her to anyone for their wedding gown alterations!

Kimberly Lugo: I had this image in my head of what I wanted my dress to look like before I went shopping. I couldn’t believe it when I found my wedding dress here, it was exactly what I wanted and I teared up when I tried it on for the first time. Chelsea’s work is absolutely gorgeous and elegant, I couldn’t of had my perfect day without her! Thank you so much! I also received an overwhelming amount of compliments on this dress. ❤️😍

Lakes Makerie: what do users think?

Gabriele O'Connor: Beautiful store and wonderful sewing classes! I took a beginner sewing class here last night and it was so great. Our teacher was super helpful, the class size was perfect and I feel much more equipped to work on my own projects in the future.

Tim Loughrist: Lovely shop and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful!

Phanida T: Lovely selection of linen, staff is super friendly and helpful. One of my favorite fabric shop!

Emily Q. Tolly: The most charming neighborhood sewing shop. I am so happy this little place exists. They have beautiful, quality fabric and sewing supplies and are super helpful when I have gone in with questions for projects I am working on.

Karen S: My cousin went to London. When she returned, she gifted me with several small cuts of Liberty lawn, all pinks and rose colors. I needed more, in cooler colors, to make a lap quilt. I went online for smaller cuts of Liberty fabrics, found Lake Makerie, ordered, and the items were in my mailbox with the week. Great service. Thank you!

Nia steinhagen: beautiful shop with a gorgeous fabric selection and very kind employees. i will definitely be back!

Lauren Dosland: Absolutely lovely shop. I could have spent all day in there and gone broke, but happily. I love the fabric I got for my sewing project. Support this local business, we must protect it!

Christy Marsden: What a gem of a shop! The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming, providing advice and assistance for choosing fabrics for my projects. They seemed to really enjoy sewing, and were welcoming to a beginner like myself who had lots of questions. The selection was really great, too! It was so nice being able to touch all the fabrics, drape them against my body to get a feel for how a dress may look, and to get everything else you need to start sewing. And given the proximity to the Minnehaha Parkway for easy biking, and a D line bus stop just a block or so away, I'll definitely be back!

Kathy Swenson: Beautiful, beautiful fabrics, fun notions, and lots of patterns not by the big pattern makers.

Julianne Marley: I love everything about this shop!

Sara McGirr: We had the best service experience in this gorgeous shop- They were incredibly helpful and patient as we gleefully selected from their hundreds of unique fabrics. As inexperienced sewists, we appreciated their expertise and suggestions for our project- namely, creating many pocket squares/handkerchiefs for my upcoming wedding. Love this shop and the people in it!

Claire Milldrum: So supportive and kind!

Cathy Swope: Love this store, they have beautiful fabrics you won't find at the chain stores and the staff was super friendly and helpful.Edit - stopped in today to pick up some eco friendly detergent and had to buy a beautiful Lady McElroy rayon lawn!

Deanna O: This store holds so many fabulous & unique fabrics including dry oil cloth. They carry some Liberty of London, and Rifle Paper Co as well. They also have bag making hardware! Staff was attentive and helpful during my visit. I will definitely be back, & recommend you visit them, too!

Valerie Gondrezick: So excited to find this incredible fabric shop in Minneapolis & was ecstatic to find Merchant & Mills organic cotton dry oilskin in many colors. Cutting & sewing this dry oilskin for bags & purses is a dream. This is a small shop that has the most amazing fabric collection & whoever the buyer is, has made every inch of it count!

Irina's Stitch In Time: what do users think?

Diane McLeod: . Unsure of prices at other tailors but she charged me $240 for mine.

christina noren: Very helpful. Great service. Very prompt. Helped me out with last minute alterations to my wedding dress and they were awesome! Wonderful woman. Wonderful craftsmanship. Definitely recommend. Actually going back to have some work garments done today.Service:Alterations

Sandy Sharpe: I loved her work so much I keep going back!!!

Hanna Chapman: Positive:Professionalism,QualityThis dress fit perfectly after the alterations. Irina’s work is quality. I will continue to go back to her for any alteration needs!Service:Alterations

Cristeta Boarini: Irina worked some magic. I bought a bridesmaid dress in 2019, but the wedding got postponed to 2021 and I was 8 months pregnant. Irina made the dress fit perfectly and on time. Reasonable price, and high quality work.

Eze Amajuoyi: A little pricey maybe but great quality service.

Abigail Johnson: Irina turned my ill fitting bridesmaids dress into a perfect fit! I’m going to take several more pieces to her this week 🤗

karla G: This place is the best! Super friendly and quick service. She’s helped me with costumes to plain work wear. Will continue to go here!

Ryan Lavelle: Irina is great to work with, very nice, doesn't say much but that's ok, listens well and prices seem fair. I've gone several times and Irina has always come through.

Hanna and Ethan Luce: , but she took in the sleeves, made them shorter, took a ruffle off the neckline, and adjusted the lining around the bust so it was more flattering. My dress was sequined all over and she did not add any extra charges for having to deal with a complicated material. Her prices were incredibly reasonable, and whereas other wedding alteration shops wanted to charge me a “rush” alteration fee for asking that the alterations be done in under 1 month, she said that 1-2 weeks was no problem for her. The alterations were done on time and exactly at the price that she estimated when I dropped off my dress. Plus, I was never sure I was going to have that “wedding dress moment”, but when I tried on my dress after she finished the alterations I immediately cried and knew it was perfect for me. I saved hundreds of dollars and LOTS of stress having her alter my gown, and I would not hesitate to go back to her again. A true professional!Service:Alterations

Rachel M: I ❤❤❤ Irina. Her suggestion to add this bling was a great call! Just look at this dress!

Sam Horowitz: I trust Irina explicitly with any alteration. She has salvaged countless ill-fitting suit jackets and dress shirts for me, some requiring major reconstructive surgery. Her prices are more than reasonable for the incomparable quality of her work. Irina takes whatever time is necessary to make sure you look as good as possible and her friendly service is the icing on the cake. I cannot recommend Irina highly enough.

MICHEAL OFFICERSR: This place is a hidden gem that everyone should go out just to see what's inside! You're gonna be amazed!

William Bankhead: Very kind and helpful experience.

Treadle Yard Goods: what do users think?

Deepa Nirmal: I don't sew but I stop by TYG often to buy buttons for my knitted sweaters. They have a great selection and extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. One of these days I will find time to learn to sew, and take advantage of their gorgeous selection of fabrics. Oh, and they have unique things like rolls of oilcloth! I bought some for a patio table and it's fantastic because you can just wipe it clean. They stock it in a variety of fun summer prints. Please support local stores. Not only does this keep your $$ in the community, you simply cannot get this kind of expert advice or attention from a big box store or Amazon.

Molly McKenzie: Such a fun little fabric store! Michelle was very nice and helpful

Marine Dumas: Love the place. Wish I lived closer.

Nancy Russell: This store is wonderful with beautiful fabrics and friendly helpful staff. They also have excellent classes for every level of sewist-i have taken several. I've been sewing since I was a kid and always learn a lot! And if that weren't enough, they work with the charity Sew Good Goods!

Alli Tripp: Very nice service, classes fabrics and supplies

maxwell samuel: Very helpful staff and owner once you break the initial I've with them. Concise, well curated offerings of good quality fabric.

Dan Maher: Great service wonderful products I always like going to get there bulk material for a tablecloth really reasonably priced

C Johnson: Nice people running a nice little shop, not into sewing myself but they occasionally have sales of sewed items and found a nice stuffed animal for my child. I also appreciate their variety of interesting patterns they put up in the shop window.

Pres CarlJohn: I'm love them.

Penny Draves: Simply the very best!!

Bryce Livingston: They have a great collection of single buttons. The owner was incredibly helpful and kind! Although we couldn’t find an exact match to my missing button, they did have a couple which matched the dress. The owner gave me an awesome tip to make it all work.

J Cardarelli: Coming here is very worthwhile. A bit of a lot! But it's a secret...

Olga Formogey: Not the same store since owner changed. I think it is more sewing classes school rather fabric store... They have very limited amount of fabric, still some good choices, but...there are only about 20-30 fabric to choose from.. , most of it is cotton...

humble pup: No nonsense little shop selling good quality products and with enthusiastic, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

sonia micek: What a treat to find beautiful linen! Wonderful service

Their staff is very helpful and goes out of their way to make sure you are getting what you need. I've also had machines serviced through this location - an "antique" Singer 301A and a serger and have also been happy with that service. I will continue to use this location and very highly recommend them to sewists of any level. Thank you Creative Sewing, Roseville!

Jessica Timmerman: For the past 15 years I’ve consistently looked to them for my sewing needs! She wasn't there for commissions, but rather there to help a fellow sewer get the best out of their current machine. I'm now bring in 5 machines!!! 3 of my own and 2 of my mother in laws because they were so honest and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place for sewing questions or buying a new machine.
