Lake of the Isles Dog Park: what do users think?

Mike Ruch: Awesome! Since they put the wood chip in

Paul Economon: If you have a dog, bring it here. They'll love it!

Bill Horn: Not huge, but big enough to be with other dogs or not. A fairly social spot for both people and dogs.

Sasha Renee: This is a really nice dog park. Parking is easy. There is plenty of space for the dogs to run and play. Busy enough for your dog to make friends, but not too busy.

Gladys Manuela Torres Almonte: My Silk and I depend on this wonderful dog park

Jo N: Nice to meet people in the neighborhood and cute dogs

Jacqueline Hall: My favorite

Lucas Armstrong: Solid dog park. Spacious enough. Never too crowded. Entrance at either end in case you need to leave before you expected to. Normally an interesting mix of pups. Does everything you want it to but nothing more. If you're in the area, check it out!

Arcadia German: Lovely dog park! As long as your dog has good recall and you monitor their playtime it is a wonderful time. Lots of different dogs of all breeds, sizes, and age.

Brice Triepke: If you wanna get ruff… take it to the barking lot

David Swanson: Dog-friendliness: Large area for dogs to run. Wood chips reduce mud and dust.

Miriam Gutzmann: This is definitely one of my favorite dog parks. Love the location and the way it's laid out. Lots of room for walking, running, zoomies, playing, meeting old and new friends, and just generally having a really fun time getting out into the fresh air and moving doggo bodies and their peoples' bodies. 🐕🚶🏾‍♀️🐩🚶🏾‍♂️

Teresa Moore: and my current heeler-mix rescue

Robert Walker: Nice people to talk to also.

Anthony Joseph: Great park. Bring water for your pup!

Chino Naldin: Always a good park because it's packed with dogs

Larry Davis: Great dog park

Joel Abrahamson: if your dog is more of the explorer type who likes to search for new smells. Some amenities, like benches, kick balls, ball throwers, and communal water dishes — but bring your own water.Playground: NoneRestrooms: NoneDog-friendliness: It's a dog parkPicnic area: None

k e: Right in town and pretty clean, as far as I saw!

Rudy Nelson: This is one of our favorite dog parks to go to. It is a decent size maybe 1.5 acres with a lot of trees and shade. This park can get muddy if there is a lot of rain or snow melt but there is usually a thick layer of wood chips.Bring water! There is no convenient water source. There is a spigot near the river side gate but it is not always on.This park is relatively busy and you can almost always find at least one other dog there. I will warn though… there are quite a few of very strange and particular owners that frequent this park. I have seen multiple dog fights, untrained dogs, and owners here, but we usually just leave if things get weird.

Ross Edgemon: Small, but clean.

Tanya Jean: Lovely space for dogs, there was 5-8 dogs while we were there. Well kept. Easy access. Definitely recommend and plenty of places to sit. And trash cans.

Patricia Johnson-Castle: There is no small dog section, just one big area. Small part has trees, mostly woodchips. Busy first thing weekday mornings and after work. Reliable lunch time crowd as well.Playground: There is a park for kids nearby but not within sight of the park.Restrooms: There are no restrooms. The Seward coop around the corner has.Picnic area: There are two picnic tables and two benches spread around the park

Jayda Anderson: Dog-friendliness: can be really hit or miss, first time there a small altercation broke out but everyone involved left the park afterwards which is standard procedure

Vince: Big park, lots of room to run. Hasn't been many dogs there the 2 times I've been there.Picnic area: A couple picnic tables.

Rachel Gall: Street parking available close to both entrances. Nice shady, wooded area for the pups to adventure in. Big woodchip knoll to throw a ball. Not a lot of dogs, very mellow.

L Kump: Natural, Roomy areaAway from city distraction

Paige: Nice place to let your dog run around with easy street parking nearby

A V: It's moderately sized, there's gravel. During winter it gets pretty icy and my dog slides around but he doesn't seem bothered.Dog-friendliness: It's a dog park for all ages and sizes.

Paul Hattan: Rounded gravel surface means no mud, but some dogs require a few visits to adapt to the gravel. Clean and functional. Kept in good condition for a free, non-profit park. Friendly neighbors and playful dogs.Yes it is small...not sure what people are expecting downtown in a major city...

Vince: It is a very convenient downtown dog park. This park uses small rock for the play area, which means no mud

Mike Lovik: One of the largest dog parks I have been to. The regulars are pretty good about addressing aggressive dogs. I'd say it's a pretty safe place for small and large dogs, puppies and seniors.

Kevin Lindberg: Love the park..but it could use some park board grooming of the trees...

Jennifer McElroy: Awesome dog park. Love that it has water bowls and benches, garbage cans! Huge are for your peppers to run free . People and their dogs who were therefore so friendly and fun! Will definately be back!

Anthony Mcjilton: Fantastic for my new dog Bruce to get some of his 2yr old energy out and to practice of him responding to me calling him to come and meet a few other dogs at the same time

William S. Jr.: Dog-friendliness: It's a dog park!

Russell Milles: Park on the north side of 47th. No restroom. Good enough size to let your furry friends run around. A little path for you to walk the perimeter, roughly 4 laps is a mile.

Lois Fimmano: Hugh!

Lance Lietzau: Always friendly dogs here and people are responsible to clean up after their pets. Take my dog here 2 to 3 times per week and it's a great loop for active dogs!Dog-friendliness: Owners bring responsible dogs here and I have never seen a single dog fight.

Thomas Sederberg: So peaceful and fun little walk to the river. Not really too much of a area for the dog to run around but then also I’d never saw any dogs there besides mine, but we had a good time. It was very peaceful.

K.H. Rieder: Area is a ways from road but has decent trails going down to river..Area seemed a bit small but soon realized there are several smaller areas , nice , less distractions for doggo ..Very much liked it..Will come again and will be recommending to others 👍👍🏻👍🏿

Cade Holmseth: Great little beach for the doggos to run around, dig, swim, and play. It's never crowded which is good but a lot of people don't know about it so sometimes there are no other dogs there for several hours. Also, it's on a river so a coyote showed up to the beach one day too.Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly!

Jenna Lory: Lovely dog park. Small hike through overgrown trail to get to the water and a flight of steep stairs as a heads up.

Steve Roscoe: Great by the river. Private

J Hawj: Free dog park. Big puppy love it!Dog-friendliness: Free running area

Ryan Rampersad: to heart's content. She loves the water

Serraya Brautigam: but there were a few picnic tables and even a swing hanging from a tree! The cliffs/bluffs along the river were fun to climb on and also so pretty!Playground: Just a single swing so not reallyRestrooms: NoDog-friendliness: Well it's a dog park so...Picnic area: Picnic tables

Nicholas L: Good place to get along walk in

Louis LaPierre: My go to when I want a chiller dog experience. Small park but tue dog loves the water so it dosnt matter.

Brandon DiMartino (Orion): Not bad. I didn't explore too deep but nice people and river access.

Sochacki Park: what do users think?

R. B.: . The only other bummer was one guy letting his dog run off leash where it definitely should have been on leash. There's one in every park amiright?

Tom Green: Nice park. Good bird watching.

Ephraim Nicholson: Kinda wild

Mory Jahangir: Nice park.

Antoinette Szymanski: Terrific up and back paved trail. Looks like many unpaved trails as well, though quite muddy right now, so didn't explore those today. Hidden gem probably gets overlooked due to the proximity to Theodore Wirth. They have what seems to be a nice off leash dog park at the North end.

Anthony Thoma: Really cool park

Mick McCabe: Good walking with relax 😎

Adria Sorensen: Tis Dog friendly and there's a biff, walking trails, plus a few picnic tables.Restrooms: BiffDog-friendliness: closed fenced in area for dogs to play inPicnic area: A few picnic tables.

Michel Gagneau: Nice park hidden in Golden Valley. In and out trail, about 2.5 miles

Carmen VSLLC: Great walk thru nature, beautiful for Bird watchers, walkers, bikes.... well groomed asphalt and paths off the beaten path. Love it!

Elen Parunina: Quite place to enjoy nature, listen to birds singing and feed mosquitoes. Nice paved and gravel trails.Playground: NoRestrooms: YesDog-friendliness: Yes. Leash and pick up. There is an off-leash area.Picnic area: Hidden

Eli Johnson: A nice trail for a walk or bike ride, that feels way more isolated and woodsy than it looks on a map. You may need bug spray in the summer; there are some low lying wet areas and the mosquitos come out.The dog park is a bit small and disappointing.

Lunasonline Cute: Wonderful 😊

Mill Ruins Park: what do users think?

Nick DiColandrea: Wonderful views! It’s under construction right now but still very cool!

Drew King: beautiful views of the city and of historic landmarks.

Calvin Johnson 3: I love, beautiful views of the city

Akshaya Bhagavathula: During a recent exploration of Minneapolis's rich historical landscape, I visited Mill Ruins Park, a site that beautifully intertwines the city’s industrial past with its vibrant present. Nestled along the Mississippi River, this park offers a unique glimpse into the 19th-century mills that once were the heartbeat of Minneapolis. The park is a fascinating mix of historical ruins and modern architecture, where weathered stone walls and remnants of old mills stand against a backdrop of the city skyline. Walking through Mill Ruins Park, I felt as though I was stepping back in time. Informational plaques scattered throughout the area provide a wealth of knowledge about the flour mills that once dominated the area and played a pivotal role in the city's development. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to walk along the river and enjoy the scenic views of St. Anthony Falls and the Stone Arch Bridge. The sound of rushing water and the sight of the falls added a dynamic element to the tranquil historical exploration. It’s a photographer’s delight and a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a bit of nature in the urban setting. The park is very accessible, with well-maintained pathways that make it easy to explore the ruins and riverfront. Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or simply looking for a picturesque place to unwind, Mill Ruins Park offers something for everyone. The blend of history, nature, and urban scenery makes it a must-visit location in Minneapolis. My visit to Mill Ruins Park was not only educational but also incredibly inspiring. It provided a profound sense of connection to the city's past, making it one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Minneapolis.

Robertson Souza: Nice place.Dog-friendliness: Dog-friendless are...

John Swanke: A must do place for beautiful pictures of the city, especially at night with the skyscrapers lit up...

Salika Pao: Beautiful lake.

Mary Ann Van Cura: Shore restoration , views, quiet water boat launch awesome

Alexandrea Chislum: It's a very beautiful family friendly place to walk around and sight see. Once the park opens I know it's going to be a great summer hangout spot. Oh they do have a ⛱️

Molly Evans: What a beautiful day for a walk and what a beautiful path around the lake! The only downfall was that there were porta potties only on one side of the lake, So when we had to go to the bathroom, we had to walk halfway around the lake to get to the bathroom. I am sure as the weather warms up that they'll open the other restrooms as well but in the meantime plan ahead!Restrooms: Only one set up bathrooms on one side of the lake and it's the opposite side of the lake as the main entrance.

Lorri Daniels: It's a park.

Boom Island Park: what do users think?

Linda Novitt: Beautiful place so close to downtown

Sarah Survance: Very pretty park with a view of the skyline. In the springtime, there are lots of flowering trees which makes this an especially nice place to walk or picnic.

Vennamaneni Arpitha: Park with downtown views, picnic spot in downtownPlayground: Has play area for kids.Picnic area: Picnic spot in downtown, has good walking and cycling trails.

Akshaya Bhagavathula: As I explored the park, I was impressed by its well-kept facilities and variety of recreational options. The park features a boat dock, which makes it a popular launching point for boating and kayaking. Watching boats glide by on the river was a peaceful way to spend the afternoon, and the gentle sounds of the water added to the serene atmosphere. For those who prefer staying on land, the walking and biking trails are excellent for getting some exercise while enjoying the scenery. I took a leisurely walk along the trails and found several quiet spots perfect for sitting and enjoying the view, or even cracking open a book. One of the highlights of my visit was the picnic area, where I enjoyed a relaxed meal with a view. The picnic facilities are well-maintained, making it easy to spend several hours at the park without needing to leave for food or other necessities.Overall, Boom Island Park struck me as a fantastic spot for families, couples, or anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without actually leaving it. Its combination of natural beauty, recreational facilities, and stunning views makes it a must-visit park in Minneapolis. Whether you're looking for an active day out or a tranquil place to unwind, Boom Island Park offers something for everyone.

Olivia Gorial: I ran the Hot Chocolate 15k which started and finished at the Park. It was 9.3 miles in the Mills District area. Just a beautiful run along the river! What struck me the most was no trash in the streets or on the course. Even the runners here are mindful and polite. The best part was catching photos of the waterfalls and all the bridges. Seeing people out with their family and dogs was so refreshing too!

Corey Chapman: Nice Park with great views of downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River.
