Minneapolis Northwest KOA Journey: what do users think?

Maddie Kapalko: We stopped at here for the night after traveling about 15 hours from Ohio. It was our first RV and campground experience and everything was really nice! The people were very friendly and showed us our spot for the night. The campground was quiet and clean, with full hookups. It was a little ways off the highway but not too far. The perfect place to stop for the night. I would highly recommend!

Pamela Rollins: Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value

Fred Flintstone: The campground is immaculately maintained. The owner/operators are very caring and customer oriented people. The stars are spaced nicely. Excellent amenities and close, but not too close access to highway 94 make this an excellent destination for just one night or for weeks at a time. This is a campground, there are no "rooms" in a motel sense. They do have a couple kamping kabins you can rent, but this review is hard to fit into a motel review framework.

Melissa Nealey: It is a nice quiet campground. The pool is nice and the laundry facilities are clean.Location: 5/5 …

AEVHS Dr. J Virtual Consults (AEVHS): One of my favorite RV parks close to the metro, family friendly and wonderful trails.Playground: Great to keep little ones busy, close to amphitheater trail, near shower/bathrooms in central parkDog-friendliness: Leashed dogs allowed

Marsh Jones (MNSwamp): Lake Elmo is a mountain bike trail for folks who aren't mountain bikers... This is old school "two track" mostly around the park perimeter. It does have a significant climb, but zero technical/single track - and that's perfectly ok!

Joey ORourke: Fall colors are amazing right now

Jim Pearsall: Great trails. Miles and Miles of trails.

Kyle O'Donnell: Nice walk. Straight shot from 50th

Ирина: . Fishing spot. And even a dog walking area

yin gang: This is a great place for family or friends gatherings. There are plenty of dining tables here. Barbecue grills, and there's also a playground for children. There's a beautiful beach here. You can rent canoes and kayaks here. You can bring your own canoe here. There are specialized fishing platforms here too. It's a wonderful experience to paddle a bamboo boat alone on the lake under the autumn sun. The special feature of this lake is the large area of lotus flowers it has. As you paddle through the lotus groves, the refreshing fragrance surrounds you. In autumn, you can also pick lotus seeds. Let's bring your friends along!

Wade Mickelsen: Another amazing park from Three Rivers, the Disc Golf course is well marked and maintained. The picnic area are just as wonderful. Overall this park is a great place to plan a day trip for fun.Playground: GreatRestrooms: Well maintainedDog-friendliness: GreatPicnic area: Great

Town & Country RV Park and Campground: what do users think?

Stiles Bliss: This campground is nestled in a sleepy little nook of the Twin Cities. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They offered to guide me through setting up my camper as this is my first one and I had no idea what I was doing. Very quiet and comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for.Nearby activities: Very close to plenty of restaurants, activities, and stores.

D Banks: Chilling with my twin 🤞🏾💕🤘🏾🔥☺️😊Location: 5/5 …

Carrie Chanudet: will miss T&C greatly! It’s a great place with good people, nice amenities and fun location. It’s a very family oriented community & we felt very welcomed and hugely supported during some trying times this past year. The Work camper group is a great team and offered good incentives to help maintain the campgrounds. We were proud to be a part of it and so grateful for our time here. We made many good friends and wonderful memories that we will keep always. The Olmstead family now feels like an extension of our own & Hope

Lori Robinson: We came in late may for a family situation, I can't express the gratitude that we have.. we were treated with great hospitality, very concerned about our situation. Should us to our site, and were more than expected to help out.. I would recommend this place to anyone in the Minneapolis area.. we were close to grocery stores.. this was a very friendly family place to stay.. for sure we will be back..

Heidi Hart: Town & Country Campground is certainly a wonderful warm and inviting place to camp and vacation. If RV camping is your thing this is a great place to call home for a while. My kids and I had reservations for a 3 night stay and had to pull out a day earlier, do to rain. We car and tent camped at two great suites on the property. We were definitely sad to have to pull out early. We will definitely be visiting again next season. The staff are very friendly and the service they provide to their guests is top notch. The resort has a office with on site little shop for snacks and things, Wi-Fi, a pool, park for the kiddos, the grounds are beautiful, recreation center, laundry facilities, bathrooms with showers, fire pit patio, storm shelter... I am sure I am forgetting something. Everything is immaculate. This is truly a 5 star home away from home!Thank you, Town and Country Campground for your hospitality!See you next year!!! ❤️🙏Sincerely,Heidi Hart

Katie Stein: seasonal spots, and I bet it would be fun

Dee Worrall: The rv site we had was great with plenty of space for our dog. Lots of tree coverage helped keep the temperature moderate in the rv. The office staff is helpful and very friendly! I saw the reviews on the tight campsites and was concerned, but it was more spacious than several other campsites we've been to. The driving could be tight in spots, but just go slow. There is a walking path you can access from the nw corner of the park. There is also a decent restaurant within walking distance and a brewery as well.Good kayaking on Clearly lake, about 8.5 miles away. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore more of the area. When we are back this direction, we will definitely stay here!Nearby activities: Walking paths and kayaking near by

Lisa Steiner: there are only two showers so you might have to wait a bit…and lots of Moskitos in the evening.Hotel highlights Great value …

Dennis Friesz: Not far to the Mall of America or Valley Fair. The kids loved the game room.Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Quiet …

Scott T.: . Laundry area looked nice but we did not use it. Friendly staff and great location for us; Valley fair- 3 miles away / State Fair 32 minutes away / Renaissance Fair- 12 miles away. Lastly, good water and proper working hook-ups. Will return again. A+

Chuck s: We had the most fun here than any other campgrounds we have ever been to. The other repete campers from Canada and from out of state are awesome as well.Nearby activities: Great hiking trails and can walk to nearby places for a cold beer if you desire

Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve: what do users think?

Greg Priem: Autumnal, snails, mushrooms were some of the words we thought of to describe our fun hike!

Logan Ingalls: Centerville lake is always so fun to come and boat and play on the beach. It’s a great hangout spot. Great area for picnics and always a good time for boating.Playground: The playground is super fun. It is exciting for the kids. It is safe. It was even pretty clean and inviting. The waterfront beach is nice as well. The sand is fun to play in.Restrooms: There is a facility here as well as Porta potty‘s. They are very clean and well-maintained.Dog-friendliness: The area is dog friendly however, a leash required.Picnic area: There are a few pavilions and a lot of park benches that are suitable for picnicking.

Cynthia Brooks: What a lovely campground. The sites are huge and private. Bathroom/showers are well kept. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Booked on the weekends but plenty of spots during the week.

S & S Bundy: Wonderful day of golf!

Tony Fink: A very nice regional park that's a hidden treasure. We do much of our camping in State Parks and lush grass for our tenting is a gift! Every worker with whom we've had contact has been great. (We are here during weekdays... We will see what the weekend is like.Restrooms: One very nice and we'll maintained restroom and shower area. Port-a-potties are convenient to the campsites in our "loop."

John Kopp: Nice local park

Sheila G: Within 30 mins from the twin cities. Nice secluded camp sites. Close to the beach and the owner does routine checks so does the coppers. Highly recommended.

MindyLea Steckelberg: I personally liked it as an RV site. I stayed in lot 11 and it’s a roomy hideaway I mean I can see my neighbors thru the trees but I didn’t hear anybody either which was cool and it had a picnic table .. big fire pit and hookups for water and electric. Showers which had hot water and not very dirty but a little but we are camping… my favorite was seeing the 11 milkweed plants and some monarchs… couple tree frogs and one made his way inside my camper and found his way out.. sure was cute.. I brought my dog and he liked it . The beach area was nice and all my run ins with people were good. Really no complaints except I had to leave a day early!😕

Jacob & Charles too.: The wife and I absolutely love taking the dogs out here. We start at Aqua Ln and walk for a mile or 2 in any direction. There's usually wildlife out an about. Like deer, turkeys, squirrels and of course rabbits. The dogs enjoy going out there because they get all the different smells.Dog-friendliness: At the head of every trail there are doggy stations with doggy bags for poop.

Trevor P: Nice wide and flat trails. Good place for a walk with the dog or friends.Dog-friendliness: Leashed dogs ok. No mountain lions or moose to worry about.Recommended activities Dog Walking, Walking …

Teddy Peteson: This is a beautiful little trail. Almost completely flat packed dirt/silt with a few patches of very fine sand. The surroundings are nice and the loop is very enjoyable. The confluence of the rivers makes for a striking view halfway through the loop.Restrooms: The visitor's center has indoor bathrooms that were immaculately kept.

Connor Lynch: Nice light easy trail around this island with river viewsRecommended activities Walking …

Joe shabadoo: Nature is beautiful 🤩

Oscar N: I caught a big fish and it was a personal record, then I went to Dairy Queen and the soda machine was broken.

Luis Tapia: Nice park to go for a walk with really nice views by the river.

John: I roamed the area since the Fort was closed and found this place. I strolled around this little secluded Pike Island in a fantastic breeze afternoon, hiking the flat trail. Very relaxing and the people are friendly too. I don't know the area well, but I don't think I would recommend coming along for kids and girls/ladies, especially in the late evening.

Debbie Mayer: A very unique trail. A 3-mile hike completely around, with benches along the way to rest and look at River.

Keith Pearcy: Love this island. Hours of walking and SO MANY DEAR!!!

Jennifer Everly: Great atmosphere. The woods look as though Frodo and his hobbits from Lord of th Rings will come popping out at any time. Lots of hollowed out trees. The 3.9 mile dirt walking path is awesome and follows both the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers. Be sure not to ride your bike on the island, I did not know this and one of the caretakers let me know as I was leaving. Felt like an idiot.

Julian seine (QuantumAdmin1): Was here during a down pour, was very serene.

Rebecca Nyberg: Look for the eagle, always hunting overhead. If you're quiet in the wintertime, there's a good chance you'll see him perched in a tree on the island.

Rice Creek Campgrounds: what do users think?

Tami Korum: Beautiful campgrounds! Very private lots, very clean. Everything is extremely well maintained. I would highly recommend camping here!

Brianna H: We have a 36 ft motorhome and could have fit into any of the campsites we saw in loop D. The campsites were big and level. We had a great time staying here close enough to the city to see the sights but far enough to relax. The campground is very clean and quiet. My only issue with the campground is the showers. There is no lock on the doors and if someone were to walk into the shower area there is just a clear shower curtain between you and the other person. There needs to be a lock on the shower doors or at least doors on the individual showers.Playground: Very clean and big near the restrooms and near the lake.Restrooms: Clean but the showers need work.Dog-friendliness: As long as your dog is on a leash and you pick up their poop.Picnic area: Great picnic area by the lake.

Jill Straight: This campground is awesome. Sites are nice and big and spread out. They have lots of pull through options for bigger rigs as well. But, bring plenty of bug spray or whatever you use to combat the mosquitoes cause they are bad!!!!

J & J: This looks like a nice place for camping, off the beaten track and nice folks to help you when needed.

Jessica: Always clean, nice campground spots, dog friendly.Playground: Two big playgroundsRestrooms: Lots of restroom accessDog-friendliness: Love that dogs are allowedPicnic area: Lots of tables

Sheri Lucas: Dog-friendliness: Dogs on leash welcome but no pets near beach.

John David: A VERY well maintained, WELL managed campground. Very spacious sites where you can almost disappear amongst the trees. Be warned that it's packed on the weekends and make reservations EARLY. I tried to stay a few more days and Cathy went above and beyond, cheerully trying to find me an available site.

Pathias Moyo: Nice family environment, I like that everyone keeps their dogs on leashes and it's an overall good time.

sean berry: Love Anoka County Parks!

Mississippi National River and Recreation Area: what do users think?

Brenda Shockey: Only have experienced the Omni Theater and it was pretty cool.

Andy Smith: The visitor center itself is really nice and has lots of information. There is a short walk down to the river, but the park here is no what I would call a recreation park. If you are exploring other parts of the MNR&RA then this is somewhere to visit as it has all the info about the park and the various sections and how to get to them. Its co-located with the science museum which is well worth a visit.

Rodney Tholen: Fun spot inside the Minnesota Science Museum building. No ticket needed.

Richard Erickson: Nice visitor center that is part of a large museum.

Cam Kay: The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Visitors Center is Awesome. Great Staff and tons of information. Check it out!

Amelia Liu: Nice little exhibit!

Edgar Ramirez: Parking is hard but man what a view!

Leira Snewo: First, the pictures arent the greatest of representation of this museum. In fact these pictures are extremely underwhelming. But to my main point of business. Anyone have a kid that is a PAIN to take anywhere? Or am I the only one? Everywhere I go, this kid just complains about everything & honestly, it's a drag. Nothing makes this kid happy. NOTHING. So after 5 minutes of forcing this kid into the museum, she ended up BEGGING me to not leave. She's a pre-teen btw. That's really important to add because I think the Childrens museum in Boston & Chattanooga are AMAZING. But those are great for tiny kids. MNR is great for kids of all ages, even those who are too cool for school.MNR is 3 stories of educational fun. On the first floor, they have an amazing store, a cafe

Cory Walaitis: Fun place to check out. The floor being a birds eye view of the Twin Cities. Cool to pop in if you're already going to the museum.

Andy Jopling: Cool interactive exhibits.

Daniel J: Looked great, lots of exhibits and informative!

Van Wilder: Prepare to be captivated by the allure of the mighty Mississippi River as you embark on an unforgettable adventure through the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, history buff, or simply seeking a serene escape from city life, this national treasure promises to leave you with cherished memories and a newfound appreciation for the river's significance. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, spanning over 72 miles through Minnesota, is a haven of natural beauty and cultural heritage. From its humble beginnings at Lake Itasca to its grandeur as it flows through the Twin Cities and beyond, the Mississippi River offers a diverse range of experiences to suit every visitor's desires. One of the highlights of this area is the abundance of recreational opportunities available. Hiking and biking trails wind along the riverbanks, offering picturesque views of the waterway and its surrounding landscapes. You can paddle your way through the gentle currents, immersing yourself in the tranquility of the river. The fishing opportunities are bountiful, providing a chance to catch a variety of fish species.History comes alive within the park's boundaries, and history enthusiasts will find themselves enchanted by the stories of early explorers, Native American cultures, and the region's industrial past. Don't miss the chance to explore the restored historic sites, visitor centers, and interpretive exhibits that offer insights into the river's role in shaping the nation's history and culture. For urban explorers, the section of the river flowing through the Twin Cities provides a unique blend of natural beauty and metropolitan allure. Iconic landmarks such as the Stone Arch Bridge and St. Anthony Falls offer breathtaking views of the river and the city skyline, making it a photographer's paradise. The Mississippi National River and Recreation Area also boast abundant wildlife. Birdwatchers will delight in spotting a wide array of avian species, including bald eagles soaring above the river. Keep an eye out for playful river otters and elusive deer that call this area home.

Mr. Sam7639: Amazing for the kids

Robert Norman: Quite un informative for a n p site

Randy: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait

Collecting Minnesota: Great area to go adventure and spend time enjoying the great outdoors. Koda loves to find trees to climb...or things to roll in....Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …

yin gang: This park is a very beautiful park. It's also a nature reserve at the same time. There are many lakes in this park, both large and small. What makes this park special is that it has different pathways. There are horse trails specifically designed for equestrians. There are bike lanes specifically prepared for cyclists. Some lakes are suitable for fishing. Some lakes are suitable for boating. This park offers camping services from late April to October every year. "If you want to learn camping and have never camped before, this park is your best choice for your first camping experience. Because this park has very complete interpretation facilities and it is very close to the city. Especially since this park is a four-season park. You can also play here in winter. It has ski trails specifically prepared for winter skiing. There are ski slopes for skiing as well. In short, this park is a very, very good park, especially because it has a lot of birds in it. There are over a hundred ospreys here. This bird had become extinct here over a hundred years ago, but now, through artificial breeding programs, it has made a comeback in the area. You can often see three or four ospreys circling in the sky. During the months of April to May each year, you can also see the ospreys feeding their chicks. They live at the tops of tall trees, some of which have grass prepared for them by humans. You can capture clear images of them with a long-range camera. There's another large group here as well, which is the black-billed swans. You can see them leisurely swimming in pairs on the lake. There are countless other birds here. They have wonderful singing voices and beautiful feathers. By the way, there's also a great archery range here. You can experience the fun of archery here with your children and family. There's a great museum here as well It displays specimens of various animals inside. The hiking trails here are fantastic. It lets you relax and enjoy the fresh air of nature. This park is a very beautiful park.I will come back.

Bode: Nice paved trails meander for miles making for a beatific autumn bike ride. We were amazed how quiet it was for a Saturday.

Bill Horn: Dog-friendliness: Large off-leash area with woods and fields. About a 20 minute walk around the perimeter.

Alex Weldum: Great area for outdoor adventure, great single track for MTB, good views, XC ski, archery, horse trails, camping. What's not to love. Well maintained.

Dick Kellor: Wonderful trails..and many choices.

Crosby Farm Park: what do users think?

Darcie Vandegrift: Quiet wooded park with paved and dirt trails. Good hiking, prepare for spring mud. Two entrances, so check with friends when you plan to meet.

Kristen Mac: Great place to exercise and walk your dog!!

Adam Bobst: Large natural forest, as well as lakes, rivers, and streams. Plenty of trails.

The Gospel of Thomas Sunday: The trails are well maintained, with views of the river and access to sand beach, there's an amazing gorge to explore, wild life abounds, including deer which may unexpectedly leap across the trail in front of you, plus one extra special tree you can step into. It's a gem lying on the bank of the Mississippi.

Matty Jorgensen: lots of trails to walk/hike. maybe don’t stay out too much past sunset - it gets dark fast!

Eric Massie: and a fair amount of parking. The parking is a little tough during busy times.

Jim Soley: Beautiful place along the Mississippi River

Erik Jackson: Great place for walking in nature, while also conveniently close to the cities!

Ricardo Martinez: This place is great for hiking, exploring, fishing, biking and animal watching. Bunch of paved and unpaved trails. I've seen beavers, eagles, coyotes and a bunch of other animals. There is also a Pavillion you can rent out. There are some caves in the area if you can find them, the kids call it "The Tunnel of Terror".
