Dr. Oz has been practicing dentistry since 1998. He came to the United States in 2002 to pursue his goals. He completed a general dentist practice residency at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, a post-graduate training program that is fully accredited by the American Dental Association’s Council on Dental Accreditation. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Oz joined a practice in Minnetonka, Minnesota and more recently, a practice in Sartell, Minnesota.

University of Minnesota Dental Clinics provide general and specialty dental care in association with the School of Dentistry's educational programs.


The University of Minnesota Comprehensive Care Dental Clinics feature dental students with undergraduate degrees who will examine you under the supervision of a faculty member, who will oversee your treatment. After the exam, you will be assigned to a dental student within a comprehensive care group for further treatment, which will also be under the supervision of a faculty member. Should you need more extensive or complicated care, you may be referred to the specialty clinics, where dental school graduates train in a particular aspect of dentistry under the supervision of an advanced-trained faculty member.

Because it is a teaching clinic and appointments generally take longer than private practice, fees are generally 30% less than the average fees in the Twin Cities community. The clinic sees both adults and children.

At your initial screening appointment, a dental student with an undergraduate degree will examine you under the supervision of a faculty member, who will oversee your examination. After the examination, you will be assigned to a dental student for further treatment.

We treat all conditions either in our comprehensive care clinics or through referral to one of our specialty clinics.


These clinics feature licensed dentists working toward a specialized degree or certification.


Third- and fourth-year dental students treat children ages 1 through 15 under the close supervision of School of Dentistry faculty.
