Dancing Bear Chocolate Northern Chocolate Studio: what do users think?

Markeda D.: We were in the neighborhood looking for dessert and this shop popped up. We stopped in Sunday at around two in the afternoon and there was only one other customer in store. This shop is ran by a friendly hardworking man who is well informed about all the delicious chocolate and gelato. This space is so cute, and there are so many different varieties!

1204xj818: We have been going to Dancing Bear for several years now and they have yet to disappoint. Incredibly tasty chocolate treats, desserts, pastries, gelato, and more, all run by the nicest folks in the world. Don't miss out on that Hot Cocoa during the chilly months - it hits the spot!!Parking: Plenty of space to park on the street near the shop.

Kasey Hayes: My husband gave me a lovely heart shaped box of chocolate from Dancing Bear for Valentine's Day. I have really enjoyed them-- not only are they so lovely to look at, but they're also absolutely delicious! He also mentioned his interaction with the shop was helpful and amazing. A+ all around.

Deb Smith: Joe is as wonderful as his confections. They had 50 specialty chocolate bars ready for me in 2 days - the week before Christmas, no less! I can personally confirm the delectability of the dark chocolate bar with candied orange, the cashew bear paw, and the lemon polenta cookies. 😉 I look forward to trying everything else they have!

Rima: I was looking for ice cream shops on Google and came across this highly rated chocolatier/gelato/dessert shop so we went and checked it out. One of the gentlemen greeted us as soon as we walked in and was very kind and told us about their offerings. He gave us a sample of their European style “sipping” hot chocolate which was so delicious and rich. We were there to get gelato which they don’t serve in the fall/winter, but they had pints and cups in the freezer for purchase. We got a cup of the chocolate hazelnut, which had chopped hazelnuts inside, and a cup of the tres leches, which was out of this world—it was so thick and delicious. I also got a double chocolate sourdough brownie to try later and it tasted like fudge. If you love chocolate and gelato, I highly recommend checking them out! Their goods are a bit on the pricier side, but worth it for the quality and for supporting a small business. It looks like a gift shop when you walk in, which I was not expecting, but they have their desserts, including chocolates, cookies, cakes, and pastries, on display.

Matthew Confeld: Everything we try is amazing. The “Bear” is our secret obsession and a must try for anyone in the neighborhood.

Mike Boardley: The chocolate is nice. It’s good but not the best I’ve had. I went in there to buy a box of chocolates for Mother’s Day but they really didn’t have a selection of boxed chocolates. They had like 3 small square boxes. So I ended up choosing a few individual wrapped pieces of chocolate. I bought a cashew cluster for myself and the rest are for a Mother’s Day gift. The cashew cluster I had was good. Bottom line, I’m more of a fan of Candyland.

L'More Chocolat: what do users think?

Cassandra Jerde: First, the good: the chocolate is delicious, the classes are fun and interesting, the store itself is beautiful and lovingly arranged. I'm particularly fond of their alcoholic chocolates- very tasty. The bad: the hours are inconsistent, change on a dime, and even if they say they're open they might not be. I've gone many times at 5:30, when they're supposed to be open until 6 to find no one there. The website is awful- there are a tons of broken links, it's hard to navigate and worst of all you have to use paypal. I ordered chocolate for pick up, put a note on when I wanted it, but somehow it was overridden once I put in the paypal information and it was instead shipped to my old paypal address. So I never got that chocolate. My advice? If you're in that area of Minneapolis, maybe grocery shopping at the Byerly's next door and they're open, go in and enjoy. But never set out to go there in particular or your probably going to be disappointed.

Maryellen Lewis: - so let's spread the word and help this gem of a shop to thrive again. A chocolate-lover's dream!

Katherine Lucht: I took the wine and chocolate class. I highly recommend the classes The own did amazing job taking tasting notes about the wines and finding chocolates that would compliment those flavors. Most chocolate and wine classes focus on the wine and just have dark and milk chocolate. But this was an amazing experience with these chocolates. At one point she paired a lemon chocolate with a Chardonnay and it smoothed out the harsh finish of the wine. It was a divine pairing! Also the shop was the just Paris perfect. As it's around the holidays, it was decorated with holly and mistletoe and little villages, it felt as if I was in a movie. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was the shop closed before the class started and I was unable to buy any chocolate to take home. I feel this is a huge missed opportunity and I currently have no chocolate to eat the next day.

Nicole: I had my birthday party here for one of the classes and everything was fantastic. The strawberry truffle and elderflower truffle were particularly amazing. We will definitely be back.

Diana Angulo: Absolutely delicious and the best service!

Joel Choi: Amazing chocolate

Rita: Fun chocolate class and so delicious!

Gretchen RULES: The Sweetest Mother Daughter Team. Best customer Service around. Delicious Chocolates and adorable Easter Baskets. Thank you for making my Mom's 90th Special!!! You and your store Rock! I also loved my chocolat bar from Paris. Yum Yum!!!

peter ellison: Owner is incredibly kind & stayed open late so my wife and I could browse. Even showed us her production method - which was fascinating! You cannot go wrong, but if you are looking for suggestions try the hot chocolate, the coconut chocolates, or better yet take a wine/chocolate pairing class.

Ryan McAndrew: Wonderful place for luxurious special gift chocolates. Service is great and staff is kind. Tremendous option for both corporate and personal gifting!!

Robert Peterson: Go there!

Nicole Brown: It was my first time visiting a chocolate shop, the staff was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was reminiscent of a chocolate shop in Paris

Youssef Abou-Atme: I come from a family who has been in the business of chocolate for few years. I was intrigued by this place for a while. Yesterday, I just decided to go in and check their collection. I was not hungry, and I told them I had place for one piece. I had to chose wisely. After plenty of explanation from the young seller, I said to myself: who is better than me, who grew up raw and roasted pistachio as well fresh artisanal Marzipans, to taste their the pistachio chocolate?!? It was exquisite! Not too sweet, just barely, and the consistency and texture was similar to the chocolate frosting: homogenous.

Beth Kalin: Excellent service and love the delicious GF baked good options!

Elizabeth Leming: Cooking classI took a cooking class. It was a lot of fun, but we cooked in groups, so it was hard to have a turn at everything. I either felt like I was taking over or missing out.The groups were of six for those classes, so if you have that many you can be your own group.

john johnson: and oh my god it is quite possibly the most delectable treat to ever make contact with my tongue. I feel blessed, I was just going to have a bite because I’m slightly allergic to apples but dear god whatever reaction my body may give me let it come down on me for I will never relinquish my apple eating in my life ever again after this, at first I could only bite through whatever white stuff and oreo there was on the apple and I was like damn this is pretty good but THEN I got to the apple and it was like a whole new world. truly an experience. I’m from out of town but I may make the trip again solely for the crisp juicy chocolately apple this establishment offers. I felt like the apple was beckoning me to eat it and I was floating in the air with heart eyes towards it. I had no idea this combination was so good, I thought it looked interesting but never expected it to be good. I don’t know if you guys came up with the idea of a dirt n worms apple but if you did, revolutionary idea. if you didn’t, amazing execution. I feel like the apple is a part of me now.

Brittny Cantele: So many yummy options to choose from! Plus the staff was super friendly. Definitely recommend to all the MOA goers looking for a sweet treat!!!

Arrius Piso (Aaron Ruiz): Great space

Tom Schmidt: Best place for a chocolate lover at MoA!! And the selection of caramel apples is incredible! If you haven’t tried the Avalanche Bark you’re missing out on the sweetest treat anywhere.

Isaac Kern: Good food but a bit pricey.

Kassandra Undine: Kayla was so sweet and helpful! I was just making a small purchase, but her customer service was memorable. 10/10 will def come by for a snack againEdit: the next day I was served by Jess, who was also fantastic!

Nathan Minten: White Chocolate Patty was pretty good. 4 out of 5.

rose lilith: I came in today and had such an amazing experience with a young african american girl with a purple apron. She was so helpful when it came to recommending products and she even took the time to engage in conversation with my children. All around amazing customer service and pretty good chocolate too!!

Beth Gasser: Stopped by for a gift and a dark chocolate covered cherry. Yummy!

Candyland: what do users think?

Seán Kelly: A great old-school candy store. Terrific service and great free smells. Hard to beat the scent of fresh Carmel corn.

Stefanie Alarcon: I walked into this store because I could smell the yummy popcorn from the street. I left with a box full of dark chocolate instead of popcorn. LOL Except for See's Candies I've never been into a candy store that offered so many dark chocolate options. I love how many dark chocolate options were available. They offered a dark chocolate alternative for just about everything they offered. The dark chocolate sponge candy is hands down my favorite. That stuff is like crack, I'm happy and sad all at the same time that I only bought one piece. The gentleman helping us out was super nice and very patient. After we left Minnesota, I learned that unique popcorn is a thing, so now I'm bummed I didn't get popcorn as well. If you're in downtown Minneapolis run, don't walk to Candyland.

Pamela Rollins: I have been I'm so long. This place is just how I remembered. I love the popcorn!

Jeremy Knutson: Fun place, lots of candy and other treats

Victoria Bayerl: Always a delight, love the chocolates and Chicago mix popcorn, lots of handmade

Sara Wood: Great popcorn.

Omid Feghahati: The fudge is incredible 😍

Cocoa & Fig: what do users think?

Susan Du: Cocoa and Fig created the dessert bar for our wedding. From ordering their sample box to coordinating delivery on the day of the event, working with owner Joe Lin was a breeze. It was important to us that in lieu of a wedding cake, our guests could have their pick of different treats that were elegant, naturally flavored, and not saccharine in the way that cheaper desserts can be. Cocoa and Fig was everything we hoped for. The friends and family were very happy.

Natalie Ives: We hired Cocoa and Fig for our wedding - we wanted to created a dessert table with a variety of desserts. They fit our vision perfectly - our dessert table was not only beautiful but delicious! Joe was great to work with and helped us create the perfect menu of dessert options. We are thrilled with our experience.

Monica Mack: We had a more casual wedding reception party and wanted a mini dessert spread so that guests could grab a treat as they wanted vs. waiting for a cake to be cut and served. We chose Cocoa & Fig and could not have been happier! The dessert sample box was a fun way to try out their different offerings and, when the day came, our guests raved about all the different options. Favorites were the mini key lime pie and butterscotch shooters! We ended up adding a small 6" cake to round out the dessert display and saved that to enjoy after the event. It was as delicious as everything else! Best buttercream we have ever had.

Jenna Younce: We are so thrilled we ended up with Cocoa and Fig for our wedding day. After a few last minute changes and a wedding postponement, Cocoa and Fig made all of our wedding cake dreams come true! They accommodated a special flavor request and it was the most delicious wedding cake that we have ever had. The flavor, serving sizes, and elegance of the cake was so amazing!! Working with Joe, the owner, was also so wonderful! He is so kind and made the whole experience special. We would recommend Cocoa and Fig to anyone and everyone that is looking for a top notch bakery and wedding vendor!! Thank you thank you Cocoa and Fig!!

Allie Stafford: , flourless chocolate mini cakes, and mini fruit tarts, they were all gone within minutes

Jake Mathieu: We hired Cocoa & Fig to cater desserts at our wedding. We had a series of mini desserts and a small cake. The desserts were delivered and set up by Cocoa & Fig staff in a beautiful spread. The cake design perfectly matched the photo we sent in and the strawberry champagne flavor was one of the best tasting cakes we ever had. The mini desserts were a huge hit at the wedding. We ordered the recommended amount based on the amount of people we had at the wedding and the entire table was cleared out by the end of the night which shows how much people enjoyed them. They were very easy to work with and accommodating when our wedding had to be rescheduled during Covid. We would highly recommend!

Diana White: I love the frosting on their cupcakes . We have ordered custom cakes from here and they are always delicious. I wish they still had their edina location.

C Weil: Cocoa and Fig made a small wedding cake for our son's small wedding and it was beautiful and absolutely delicious! The very best chocolate cake I have ever tasted--and I have tasted a lot.

Hannah Elliott: Cocoa and Fig was a great vendor to work with for our wedding dessert needs. My wife and I wanted cupcakes for our wedding and tried 6 different vendors prior to going with Cocoa & Fig. We decided to go with Cocoa and Fig due to high quality cupcakes, amazing classic and unique flavor profiles, and supporting a local business. Joe, the owner, brought us in for a personal tasting where we were able to sample and learn more about the process of making and transporting these wonderful cupcakes. We were sold and had a hard time deciding on which flavors to choose! Also, we had to make a last second change to the delivery location of the cupcakes. Joe got back to us promptly the day of the wedding to make sure the cupcakes made it to the right place. We highly recommend Cocoa and Fig as your dessert vendor for a wedding or get together big or small.

Sukanya Narayanan: In a very short notice of 48 hours, Cocoa and fig gave me a custom cake which no other bakeries did. They quickly understood my requirement, gave their suggestions and within hours they started working on the cake. I went with their sinfully chocolate and it's a must try cake for cake lovers. It was in perfect sweetness and the guests at our party kept asking for more and some had the cake packed and took it home.Theypacked it neatly and the delivery was on time. I would definitely recommend this shop for my friends for any of their special occasions. They have very good clarity of thought and they exactly understand what the customer wants. Overall a very satisfying purchase.

Jason Anderson: Always the best. I've been a customer since 2012.

Heather Ludzack: Absolutely amazing. Delicious and stunning presentation!

Leysha J: I am visiting from out of town and seen the reviews and pictures of this place and holy smokes it did not disappoint. I was like a kid in a candy store 😁. Cody was so friendly and helpful. He offered me samples of the ice cream and even informed me about the to-go pint sizes. The coconut cookies n crème was delicious. I got the Rocher Mousse as well as the Key Lime pie. There were so many things to choose from in so little time. There is a bar and they do serve savory foods which I plan on trying next time I visit. Thank you so much Cody, I appreciate your excellent customer service. There is plenty of seating indoors.

Anthony Lucci: Hella good, hella expensive.

Lorraine Wookey: Delicious. Everything also looks really pretty. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was a little noisy for me because it was busy.Wheelchair accessibility: The registrar are set back a little far to reach from a wheelchair though the staff is helpful with that.

Sal W: Love this store! They make the best chocolate malted milk balls we've ever tasted. We are never without them.

The Earth Stars: , and it's so delicious. This was the first time I've been in the store. It is a quaint, comfortable, clean, and beautiful location. The employee inside was very helpful and friendly. In addition to the physical store, they do a ton of online orders, which works well if you are shipping it to family, friends, or associates out of state. This is some of the best chocolate and candies I have tasted. What's also fun is the Minnesota themes in some of their chocolates. It is definitely worth ordering online or stopping at the store... you won't be disappointed.

eric Jochum: Excellent selection Excellent quality. Great quiet spot with delicious treats right in the middle of st Louis park

Roshan Rajkumar: Some might fine treats. Murtles reign Supreme, but so many other great things to sample, then buy.

Catherine Jarocki: Delicious chocolate and a local business - a wonderful mix. I stopped by because I was looking for some peanut butter cups, and I sampled the Happy Camper peanut butter squares - so much better than what I would have found at the grocery store - I bought 2 cups of them and will probably have to return for more by Monday! Droolin' Moose is bound to have whatever your chocolate-loving heart desires!

Noah Jeffrey: Great spot to grab a gift for the chocolate lover in your life. And you can sample anything before you buy it! Seems wasteful to be using disposable plastic cups for each sample though.

tony brewer: Had a good time here and all the choices was amazing

Mark Edmiston: Can't go wrong with a free sample. If you can't find chocolate you like, then you're in the wrong store. Lots of variety of flavors, so something for everyone.

Clint Burford: This place has too many choices

Alison Tuovila: We had the *best* time in your store. The managers husband is the one who was working when we were there. I threw out the receipt otherwise I would be able to tell you his name. He was remarkable, he clearly enjoys his job and helping/working with people. He was so enjoyable to visit and was very helpful when finding the best chocolates to bring home to my family. Currently all the chocolates are in a dish on the table and they keep running past to grab a chocolate. ♡

Diane Bzdok: I love this place. Service is always great and the chocolate is amazing!

Amy Hahn: Chocolate, the best there is. We got a sample when entering. Ended up biying a nice variety. Soo many awesome flavors.
